| 1 | Measurement and Interpretation of Connectivity of Chinese Cities in World City Network,2010显示文摘This is an empirical paper that measures and interprets the position of Chinese cities in the world city network in 2010. Building on a specification of the world city network as a′interlocking network′in which business services firms play the crucial role in city network formation, information is gathered about the presence of global service firms in cities. This information is converted into data to provide the′service value′of a city for a firm′s provision of corporate services in a 526(cities)×175(firms) matrix. These data are then used as the input to the interlocking network model in order to measure cities′connectivity and its predominant geographical orientation. | 2 | Changing Connectivities of Chinese Cities in the World City Network,2010–2016显示文摘Against the backdrop of the sizable economic growth of China in recent years, this paper uses the most recent data gathering of the Globalization and World Cities(Ga WC) research network to update and supplement earlier research on the shifting global connectivity of Chinese cities. The update consists of an evaluation of the connectivity of Chinese cities in 2016, the supplement of an analysis of the changing position of Chinese cities in the world city network between 2010 and 2016. To this end, we build on a specification of the world city network as an ‘interlocking network' in which producer services firms play the crucial role in city network formation. Information about the presence of leading producer services firms in cities in 2010 and 2016 is used as the input to a bipartite network projection algorithm in order to measure cities' network connectivity. The first set of results discusses the geographies of urban connectivity in the world city network in 2016. The second set of results discusses standardized measures of change to reveal the major dimensions of the transformations between 2010 and 2016. We find that, with the exception of Hong Kong, Macao and Kaohsiung of Taiwan, all Chinese cities record connectivity gains. This wholesale rise in connectivity is nonetheless geographically uneven, with above all Beijing, Chengdu/Chongqing and Changsha/Wuhan becoming more connected. | 4 | Prevalence and Correlates of Elevated Blood Pressure in Chinese Children Aged 6-13 Years: a Nationwide School-Based Survey显示文摘Objective To estimate the prevalence of elevated blood pressure(EBP) in Chinese children and identify individual and family factors associated with EBP. Methods A nationwide cross-sectional study was conducted in 2010 using stratified cluster sampling. Participants' blood pressure was measured, and their parents completed a questionnaire on personal and family characteristics. Prevalence and correlates of EBP were assessed. Results Among a total of 24,333 participants, 20.2% of boys and 16.3% of girls had EBP. The prevalence of EBP increased with the ascending trend of waist circumference, Waist-to-height ratio, and body mass index. The adjusted prevalence ratios(aP Rs) for obese boys and girls were 2.50 and 2.97, respectively. Fewer urban boys(16.2%) had EBP than rural boys(21.7%). Boys with a family history of hypertension were 12% more likely to have EBP. Children whose mothers received a college education tended to have lower likelihood of EBP; with an aP R was 0.85 among boys and 0.78 among girls. Conclusion EBP is common among obese students and those who have a family history of hypertension. | 5 | Environmental changes during the past 13500 cal. a BP deduced from lacustrine sediment records of Lake Qinghai, China显示文摘A 475-cm long sediment core (QH-2005) from Lake Qinghai was used to carry out multi-proxy analysis of δ18O and body length of ostracod valves and redness and grain size of sediments, in order to reconstruct environ-mental changes during the past 13500 cal. a BP. The age model was based on 6 14C dates for bulk orgnic carbon (BOC) and 2 14C dates for lignin. The lignin 14C dates are apparently younger than the corresponding layers' BOC 14C dates, indicating that the reservoir age varied from 728 to 1222 a since the Late Glacial and from 2390 to 2490 a immediately before the pre-bomb era. Hence, the 14C age model for Core QH-2005 was corrected by the changing reservoir age. Ostracod δ18O values were primarily related to dilution and evaporative enrichment of the lake water. The reconstructed salinity based on ostracod body length coincides well with ostracod δ18O values. High redness and mean grain size (MZ) values indicate increased riverine supply to Lake Qinghai associated with increasing monsoon rainfall. Multi-proxy results show that climate during 13500-10900 cal. a BP was relatively cold and dry with fre-quent short-term fluctuations; a warm and wet climate began at about 10900 cal. a BP and culminated around 6500 cal. a BP as a result of monsoon strengthening; the climate became cold and dry afterwards and has remained rela-tively stable since 3400 cal. a BP. | 6 | Appropriately adapted properties of hot-extruded Zn-0.5Cu-xFe alloys aimed for biodegradable guided bone regeneration membrane application显示文摘Appropriately adapted comprehensive mechanical properties,degradation behavior and biocompatibility are prerequisites for the application of Zn-based biodegradable implants.In this study,hot-extruded Zn-0.5Cu-xFe(x=0.1,0.2 and 0.4 wt%)alloys were fabricated as candidates for biodegradable materials for guided bone regeneration(GBR)membranes.The hot-extrusion process and Cu alloying were expected mostly to enhance the mechanical properties,and the Fe alloying was added mainly for regulating the degradation.The microstructure,mechanical properties and in vitro degradation behavior were systematically investigated.The ZnCuFe alloys were composed of a Zn matrix and FeZn13 phase.With increasing Fe content,a higher FeZn13 phase precipitation with larger particles was observed.Since elongation declined significantly until fracture with increasing Fe content up to 0.4 wt%,the ZnCuFe(0.2 wt%)alloy achieved a good balance between mechanical strength and ductility,with an ultimate tensile strength of 202.3 MPa and elongation at fracture of 41.2%.Moreover,the addition of Fe successfully accelerated the degradation of ZnCuFe alloys.The ZnCuFe(0.2 wt%)alloy showed relatively uniform corrosion in the long-term degradation test.Furthermore,extracts of the ZnCuFe(0.2 wt%)alloy showed no apparent cytotoxic effects against L929 fibroblasts,Saos-2 osteoblasts or TAg periosteal cells.The ZnCuFe(0.2 wt%)alloy exhibited the potential to inhibit bacterial adhesion of Streptococcus gordonii and mixed oral bacteria.Our study provides evidence that the ZnCuFe(0.2 wt%)alloy can represent a promising material for the application as a suitable GBR membrane. | Wentai Zhang Ping Li Gang Shen Xiaoshan Mo Chao Zhou Dorothea Alexander Frank Rupp Jürgen Geis-Gerstorfer Haijun Zhang Guojiang Wan | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,4: | 6 |

| 8 | Who may benefit from lower dosages of intravenous tissue plasminogen activator? Results from a cluster data analysis显示文摘background The risk of symptomatic intracranial haemorrhage(sICH)after thrombolysis is low but severe.Lower dose of alteplase may reduce the risk of sICH.We aim to identify subsets of patients who could benefit from lower dose of alteplase compared with standard dose.Methods Data from two observational registries were pooled together.A total of 3479 patients who had acute ischaemic stroke were entered into the interaction tree model.The response variable was the rate of sICH per the definition of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke Study.Clinical improvement was measured by the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)and defined as NIHSS 0 or 1 or an improvement of more than 4 points(within 7 days or at discharge).Rare event logistic regression was performed to analyse the OR of safety outcome.results To optimise the interaction effect between tissue plasminogen activator(tPA)dosage(standard/lower)and patient subgroups,three subgroups based on the severity of stroke were identified:(1)NIHSS≤4,(2)NIHSS between 5 and 14,and(3)NIHSS≥15.The estimated difference of OR of having sICH was 2.71(95%CI 0.80 to 7.69,p=0.10)for mild,0.13(95%CI 0.02 to 0.68,p=0.01)for moderate,and 0.65(95%CI 0.19 to 2.55,p=0.52)for severe,respectively.In addition,patients who had moderate stroke treated with lower dose had comparable efficacy outcome(OR 1.23,95%CI 0.71 to 2.13,p=0.45).Conclusion Our analysis demonstrated that in patients who had moderate stroke,lower doses of alteplase are associated with significant sICH reduction and non-inferior performance in efficacy,compared with those in the standard dose group. | Yi Dong Ye Han Haipeng Shen Yilong Wang Frank Ma Hao Li Yongjun Wang Qiang Dong | 2020 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2020,5,4: | 3 |
