1Lithology, kinematics and geochronology related to Late Mesozoic basin-mountain evolution in the Nanxiong-Zhuguang area, South China显示文摘The Nanxiong red-bed basin and its adjacent Zhuguang granite form a distinctive basin-mountain landform in the Nanling region, South China. Research results suggest that the Zhuguang granite is a polyphase composite pluton developed on the metamorphic basement of the paleo-Tethys-paleo-Asian tectonic regime and possesses geometrical and kinematic features of hot-doming extensional tectonics at the middle-upper crustal level, which is considered as a magmatic complex that resulted from the collision-orogeny during the Indosinian Period, the subduction-consuming during the Early Yanshanian Period and the intra-continental basaltic underplating and deep-seated geodynamics during the Late Yanshanian Period. The Nanxiong basin is a Late Cretaceous-Paleogene asymmetric faulted basin that is characterized by a fault boundary on the northern side and an uncomformable boundary on the southern side, its deposit center was migrated gradually from south to north. Structural kinematic results on the ba-sin-mountain coupled zone demonstrate that the ductile and the brittle rheological layers show a quite coincident sense of shear, implying that it is a continuous process from the ductile exten-sional deformation followed by locally sinistral strike-slip shear at a middle-crustal level to the brittle tensional deformation at a upper-crustal level during formation of granitic doming exten-sional tectonics. The Zhuguang granite and the Nanxiong faulted basin constructed a semi-graben tectonic system. Lithological and geochemical results suggest that the Late Triassic to Jurassic granitic bodies in the Zhuguang have some similar features: high SiO2, Al2O3, K2O contents, alkalinity index > 2.8, ANKC value > 1.1, LREE-enriched pattern with high REE con-tents, marked negative Eu anomalies, enrichment in Rb and Th, depletion in Ba and Nb, showing a K-rich and Al-rich calc-alkaline affinity, which suggest a continuous magmatic evolution from Late Triassic to Jurassic. Formation of Nanxiong basin and evolution of basin-mountain system were controlled both by the Zhuguang granitic-doming and the regional extensional tectonics. Development of the olivine basalt in the basin suggests that tension action was very strong dur-ing lava eruption. 4Antigenic variation of the human influenza A(H3N2) virus during the 2014–2015 winter season显示文摘The human influenza A(H3N2) virus dominated the 2014–2015 winter season in many countries and caused massive morbidity and mortality because of its antigenic variation. So far, very little is known about the antigenic patterns of the recent H3N2 virus. By systematically mapping the antigenic relationships of H3N2 strains isolat ed since 2010, we discov ered that two groups with obvious antigenic divergence, named SW13(A/Switzerland/9715293/2013-like strains) and HK14(A/Hong Kong/5738/2014-like strains), co-circulated during the 2014–2015 winter season. HK14 group co-circulated with SW13 in Europe and the United States during this season, while there were few strains of HK14 in China's Mainland, where SW13 has dominated since 2012. Furthermore, we found that substitutions near the receptor-binding site on hemagglutinin played an important role in the antigenic variation of both the groups. 5Characterization and Evaluation of OsLCT1 and OsN ramp5 Mutants Generated Through CRISPR/Cas9-Mediated Mutagenesis for Breeding Low Cd Rice显示文摘To explore how rice(Oryza sativa L.) can be safely produced in Cd-polluted soil, OsLCT1 and OsNramp5 mutant lines were generated by CRISPR/Cas9-mediated mutagenesis. One of OsLCT1 mutant(lct1×1) and two of OsNramp5 mutants(nramp5×7 and nramp5×9) were evaluated for grain Cd accumulation and agronomic performances. In paddy field soil containing approximately 0.9 mg/kg Cd, lct1×1 grains contained approximately 40%(0.17 mg/kg) of the Cd concentration of the wild type parental line, less than the China National Food Safety Standard(0.20 mg/kg). Both OsNramp5 mutants showed low grain Cd accumulation(< 0.06 mg/kg) in the paddy(approximately 0.9 mg/kg Cd) or in pots in soil spiked with 2 mg/kg Cd. However, only nramp5×7 showed normal growth and yield, whereas the growth of nramp5×9 was severely impaired. 7Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 8EFFECTS OF CONSOLIDATION TIME AND PARTICLE SIZE ON SCOUR RATES OF COHESIVE SEDIMENT显示文摘By means of flumes,experiments have been done in order to determine the effects of consolidation time and particle size on scour rates of cohesive sediment. Experimental results shown dry unit weight increased and scour rates decreased during the course of consolidation,the resistance to scour was related to consolidation time,but it presented different consolidation properties that depended on particle size. For the finer particle,the consolidation process was longer,the range of dry unit weight altered was greater,the consolidated sediments moved in chunks. On the other hand,based on analysis of the relationship of dry unit weight change with consolidation time,the simplified analytical expressions of dry unit weight and scour rates were derived,the results were checked with experimental data in the same flow situation and good agreements were achieved. 9The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. 12Influence of filler-bitumen ratio on performance of modified asphalt mortar by additive显示文摘When the filler-bitumen ratio of asphalt mortar changes, its adhesion and viscoelasticity will also change, as well as its performance at the high and low temperatures, fatigue durability, and ductility. Thus, the appropriate filler- bitumen ratio directly affects the asphalt mortar's performance. This paper tested the physical indexes of the No. 70 matrix asphalt mortar modified by additive Sasobit (SB) and Sasowam (SW) through dynamic shear rheometer and bending beam rheometer under different temperature conditions, and comprehensively analyzed the high-temperature anti-rutting and fatigue performance, low-temperature crack resistance performance, and ductility of asphalt mortar. The results show that ore powder not only can increase the antirutting factor but also can increase the aging resistance of asphalt. SB has better performances than SW at high temperatures. 13KIF18B promotes tumor progression in osteosarcoma by activating β-catenin显示文摘Objective:Osteosarcoma is a common primary highly malignant bone tumor.Kinesin family member 18B(K1F18B)has been identified as a potential oncogene involved in the development and metastasis of several cancer types.While KIF18B overexpression in osteosarcoma tissue is clearly detected,its specific function in the disease process remains to be established.Methods:K IF18B expression was assessed in osteosarcoma tissues and cells.We additionally evaluated the effects of KIF18B on proliferation,migration,and invasion of osteosarcoma cells,both in vitro and in vivo.Results:Our results showed overexpression of KIF18B in osteosarcoma tissues and cells.Knockdown of K IF18B induced G1/S phase arrest and significantly inhibited proliferation,migration,and invasion of osteosarcoma cells,both in vitro and in vivo.K IF18B regulated P-catenin expression at the transcriptional level by controlling nuclear aggregation of ATF2 and at the post-transcriptional level by interacting with the adenomatous polyposis coli(APC)tumor suppressor gene in osteosarcoma cells.Conclusions:KIF18B plays a carcinogenic role in osteosarcoma by regulating expression ofβ-catenin transcriptionally via decreasing nuclear aggregation of ATF2 or post-transcriptionally through interactions with APC.Our collective findings support the potential utility of KIF18B as a novel prognostic biomarker for osteosarcoma.Tian Gao Ling Yu Zhiwei Fang Jiayong Liu Chujie Bai Shu Li Ruifeng Xue Lu Zhang Zhichao Tan Zhengfu Fan 2020Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,2:7
14Population attributable risks of cigarette smoking for deaths of all causes, all cancers and other chronic diseases among adults aged 40-74 years in urban Shanghai, China显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the population attributable risks(PARs) between cigarette smoking and deaths of all causes, all cancers, lung cancer and other chronic diseases in urban Shanghai.Methods: In total, 61,480 men aged 40-74 years from 2002 to 2006 and 74,941 women aged 40-70 years from 1997 to 2000 were recruited to undergo baseline surveys in urban Shanghai, with response rates of 74.0% and 92.3%, respectively. A Cox proportional hazards regression model was used to estimate relative risks(RRs) and 95% confidence intervals(95% CIs) of deaths associated with cigarette smoking. PARs and 95% CIs for deaths were estimated from smoking exposure rates and the estimated RRs.Results: Cigarette smoking was responsible for 23.9%(95% CI: 19.4-28.3%) and 2.4%(95% CI: 1.6-3.2%) of all deaths in men and women, respectively, in our study population. Respiratory disease had the highest PAR in men [37.5%(95% CI: 21.5-51.6%)], followed by cancer [31.3%(95% CI: 24.6-37.7%)] and cardiovascular disease(CVD) [24.1%(95% CI: 16.7-31.2%)]. While the top three PARs were 12.7%(95% CI: 6.1-19.3%), 4.0%(95% CI: 2.4-5.6%), and 1.1%(95% CI: 0.0-2.3%), for respiratory disease, CVD, and cancer, respectively in women. For deaths of lung cancer, the PAR of smoking was 68.4%(95% CI: 58.2-76.5%) in men.Conclusions: In urban Shanghai, 23.9% and 2.4% of all deaths in men and women could have been prevented if no people had smoked in the area. 19The Medium Energy X-ray telescope (ME) onboard the Insight-HXMT astronomy satellite显示文摘The Medium Energy X-ray telescope(ME) is one of the three main telescopes on board the Insight hard X-ray modulation telescope(Insight-HXMT) astronomy satellite. ME contains 1728 pixels of Si-PIN detectors sensitive in 5-30 ke V with a total geometrical area of 952 cm^2. The application specific integrated circuit(ASIC) chip, VA32TA6, is used to achieve low power consumption and low readout noise. The collimators define three kinds of field of views(FOVs) for the telescope, 1°×4°, 4°×4°,and blocked ones. Combination of such FOVs can be used to estimate the in-orbit X-ray and particle background components.The energy resolution of ME is ~3 ke V at 17.8 ke V(FWHM) and the time resolution is 255 μs. 20全球尺度上氮添加影响植物生物量分配但不影响不同器官间的异速生长关系显示文摘生物量在不同器官间的分配是植物对环境变化响应的一个关键生态生理学过程。然而,在全球尺度上有关不同陆地生态系统植物生物量分配对氮沉降响应的认识还比较欠缺。本文通过整合分析333篇己发表文章的5474个观测值,基于“最优分配假说”和“异速分配假说”,评估了全球尺度上氮添加对植物生物量及其在不同器官间分配的影响。结果表明:(1)氮添加显著增加了整株植物或不同器官的生物量,降低了根冠比和根质量分数,但对叶质量分数和茎质量分数无显著影响;(2)氮添加对不同器官质量分数的影响受实验条件、植物功能性状、纬度、氮添加率等因子单独或交互作用的调控;(3)氮添加对生物量在不同器官间的异速分配率无显著影响,表明氮添加导致的根冠比和根质量分数减少是在异速分配模式下由整株植物生物量增加而致。虽然氮添加改变了地上和地下部分的质量分数,但不同器官生物量间异速分配模式的稳定性表明“异速分配假说”能更好地描述植物生物量分配对氮添加的响应规律。该研究结果将有助于深入认识氮沉降环境下植物生物量的分配规律,同时表明将生物量分配纳入有关氮沉降对陆地生态系统影响的预测模型中的重要性。Kai Yue Dario A.Fomara Wang Li Xiangyin Ni Yan Peng Shu Liao Siyi Tan Dingyi Wang Fuzhong Wu Yusheng Yang 2021Journal of Plant Ecology2021,14,3:5
