| 1 | Osteoimmunomodulatory effects of biomaterial modification strategies on macrophage polarization and bone regeneration显示文摘Biomaterials as bone substitutes are always considered as foreign bodies that can trigger host immune responses.Traditional designing principles have been always aimed at minimizing the immune reactions by fabricating inert biomaterials.However,clinical evidence revealed that those methods still have limitations and many of which were only feasible in the laboratory.Currently,osteoimmunology,the very pioneering concept is drawing more and more attention-it does not simply regard the immune response as an obstacle during bone healing but emphasizes the intimate relationship of the immune and skeletal system,which includes diverse cells,cytokines,and signaling pathways.Properties of biomaterials like topography,wettability,surface charge,the release of cytokines,mediators,ions and other bioactive molecules can impose effects on immune responses to interfere with the skeletal system.Based on the bone formation mechanisms,the designing methods of the biomaterials change from immune evasive to immune reprogramming.Here,we discuss the osteoimmunomodulatory effects of the new modification strategies—adjusting properties of bone biomaterials to induce a favorable osteoimmune environment.Such strategies showed potential to benefit the development of bone materials and lay a solid foundation for the future clinical application. | Yajuan Xie Cheng Hu Yi Feng Danfeng Li Tingting Ai Yulei Huang Xiaodan Chen Lijia Huang Jiali Tan | 2020 | Regenerative Biomaterials2020,7,3: | 22 |
| 2 | Re–Os dating of molybdenite and in-situ Pb isotopes of sulfides from the Lamo Zn–Cu deposit in the Dachang tin-polymetallic ore field, Guangxi, China显示文摘The Dachang tin-polymetallic district, Guangxi,China, is one of the largest tin ore fields in the world. Both cassiterite-sulfide and Zn–Cu skarn mineralization are hosted in the Mid-Upper Devonian carbonate-rich sediments adjacent to the underlying Cretaceous Longxianggai granite(91–97 Ma). The Lamo Zn–Cu deposit is a typical skarn deposit in the district and occurs at the contact zone between the Upper Devonian limestone and the granite.The ore minerals mainly consist of sphalerite, arsenopyrite,pyrrhotite, galena, chalcopyrite, and minor molybdenite.However, the age of mineralization and source of the metals are not well constrained. In this study, we use the molybdenite Re–Os dating method and in-situ Pb isotopes of sulfides from the Lamo deposit for the first time in order to directly determine the age of mineralization and the tracing source of metals. Six molybdenite samples yielded a more accurate Re–Os isochron age of 90.0 ± 1.1 Ma(MSWD = 0.72), which is much younger than the reported garnet Sm–Nd isochron age of 95 ± 11 Ma and quartz fluid inclusions Rb–Sr isochron age of 99 ± 6 Ma. This age is also interpreted as the age of Zn–Cu skarn mineralization in the Dachang district. | 3 | Driving Force and Ecosystem Service Values Estimation in the Extreme Arid Region from 1975 to 2015:A Case Study of Alxa League,China显示文摘The research on ecosystem service values(ESVs)estimation in arid region is weak.We took the Alxa League of China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,an extreme arid region,as an example and constructed an equivalent coefficient method to assess its ESVs from 1975 to 2015,by determining the standard unit of ESVs and the basic equivalent of the value of different ecosystem services per unit area based on the regional characteristics,literature research,expert knowledge and land use data.The results show that the ESVs first decreased from 83170.4 million yuan(RMB)in 1975 to 82337.8 million yuan(RMB)in 2000 and then increased to84033.6 million yuan(RMB)in 2015,and the ESV of sparse grassland and desert account for about 33%and 29%of the total ESVs,respectively.Among the four service types,the regulating services,support services,supply services and cultural services account for66.5%,22.8%,6.0%and 4.7%,respectively.The changes of ESVs in Alxa League are determined by the socio-economic development and ecological changes.This study provides a new method to estimate the ESVs in arid region by integrating existing methods and regional characteristics,such as the cost of water for arid ecosystems. | XIE Jiali LU Zhixiang XIAO Shengchun YAN Changzhen | 2021 | Chinese Geographical Science2021,31,6: | 3 |
| 4 | The heterogeneity of hydrometeorological changes during the period of 1961-2016 in the source region of the Yellow River, China显示文摘Runoff in the source region of a river makes up most of water resources in the whole basin in arid and semi-arid areas. It is very important for water resources management to timely master the latest dynamic changes of the runoff and quantitatively reveal its main driving factors. This paper aims to discover the variation heterogeneity of runoff and the impacts of climatic factors on this runoff in the source region of the Yellow River(SRYR) in China from 1961 to 2016. We divided SRYR into four sub-regions, and analyzed changes of their contributions to total runoff in SRYR. We also revealed the impacts of precipitation, temperature and potential evapotranspiration on runoff in each sub-region by constructing the regression relationships between them at multiple temporal scales. The changes of runoff in the four sub-regions and their contributions to the total runoff were not exactly consistent. The climatic variables’ changes also have heterogeneity, and runoff was mainly affected by precipitation compared to influences of temperature or potential evapotranspiration. | 5 | Distinct transcriptomic landscapes of cutaneous basal cell carcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas显示文摘The majority of non-melanoma skin cancer(NMSC)is cutaneous basal cell carcinoma(BCC)or squamous cell carcinoma(SCC),which are also called keratinocyte carcinomas,as both of them originate from keratinocytes.The incidence of keratinocyte carcinomas is over 5 million per year in the US,three-fold higher than the total incidence of all other types of cancer combined.While there are several reports on gene expression profiling of BCC and SCC,there are significant variations in the reported gene expression changes in different studies.One reason is that tumor-adjacent normal skin specimens were not included in many studies as matched controls.Furthermore,while numerous studies of skin stem cells in mouse models have been reported,their relevance to human skin cancer remains unknown.In this report,we analyzed gene expression profiles of paired specimens of keratinocyte carcinomas with their matched normal skin tissues as the control.Among several novel findings,we discovered a significant number of zinc finger encoding genes up-regulated in human BCC.In BCC,a novel link was found between hedgehog signaling,Wnt signaling,and the cilium.While the SCC cancerstem-cell gene signature is shared between human and mouse SCCs,the hair follicle stem-cell signature of mice was not highly represented in human SCC.Differential gene expression(DEG)in human BCC shares gene signature with both bulge and epidermal stem cells.We have also determined that human BCCs and SCCs have distinct gene expression patterns,and some of them are not fully reflected in current mouse models. | Jun Wan Hongji Dai Xiaoli Zhang Sheng Liu Yuan Lin Ally-Khan Somani Jingwu Xie Jiali Han | 2021 | Genes & Diseases2021,8,2: | 2 |
| 6 | HMGB1-mediated autophagy promotes gefitinib resistance in human non-small cell lung cancer显示文摘Non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)ranks the first in incidence and mortality among malignant tumors in China.Molecular targeted therapies such as gefitinib,an oral inhibitor of the epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase,have shown significant benefits in patients with advanced NSCLC.However,most patients have unsatisfactory outcomes due to the development of drug resistance,and there is an urgent need to better understand the pathways involved in the resistance mechanisms.In this study,we found that HMGB1 is highly expressed in drug-resistant cells and confers to gefitinib resistance in NSCLC cells via activating autophagy process.Gefitinib upregulates HMGB1 expression in time-dependent and dose-dependent manners in human NSCLC cells.RNA interference-mediated knockdown of HMGB1 reduces PC9GR cell viability,induces apoptosis,and partially restores gefitinib sensitivity.Mechanistic analyses indicate that elevated HMGB1 expression contributes to gefitinib resistance by inducing autophagy.Thus,our results suggest that HMGB1 is an autophagy regulator and plays a key role in gefitinib resistance of NSCLC. | Tianyao Lei Jiali Huang Fei Xie Jingyao Gu Zhixiang Cheng Zhaoxia Wang | 2022 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,4: | 2 |
| 7 | LncRNA H19 inhibits oxidative stress injury of cochlear hair cells by regulating miR-653-5p/SIRT1 axis显示文摘Oxidative stress is one of the important mechanisms of inner ear cell damage,which can lead to age-related hearing loss(ARHL).LncRNA H19 is significantly downregulated in the cochlea of old mouse,however,the role of H19 in the development of ARHL remains unclear.In this study,we aim to investigate the expression and function of H19 in oxidative stress injury of cochlear hair cells induced by H_(2)O_(2).RT-qPCR and western blot analysis confirms that HEI-OC1 cells stimulated with H_(2)O_(2) decreases the expressions of H19 and SIRT1,but increases the expression of miR-653-5p.Overexpression of H19 could increase cell viability,ATP level and mitochondrial membrane potential,but reduce mitochondrial ROS generation and cell apoptosis ratio in H2O2-stimulated HEI-OC1 cells.MiR-653-5p is a target of H19,which can bind to the 3'-UTR of SIRT1.H19 is found to regulate the expression of SIRT1 through miR-653-5p.Further experiments demonstrates that H19 regulates HEI-OC1 cell viability,ATP level,mitochondrial membrane potential,mitochondrial ROS generation,and cell apoptosis ratio via the miR-653-5p/SIRT1 axis.In conclusion,lncRNA H19 inhibits oxidative stress injury of cochlear hair cells via the miR-653-5p/SIRT1 axis. | Wen Xie Ting Shu Haisen Peng Jiali Liu Chunhua Li Meiqun Wang Ping Wu Yuehui Liu | 2022 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,3: | 2 |

| 10 | Hewei Jiangni granule alleviates visceral hypersensitivity in a rat model of non-erosive reflux disease via transient receptor potential channel signaling显示文摘Objective:To uncover the underlying mechanism of Hewei Jiangni granule(HWJNG)on non-erosive reflux disease(NERD)treatment by examining histological changes,gastrointestinal neurochemicals release and visceral hypersensitivity-related receptor expression in NERD model rats.Methods:A NERD rat model was established via a combination of basal sensitization and acid perfusion.HWJNG treatments at different doses were then administered.Pathological changes to tissues,mast cell(MC)activation,serum levels of esophageal visceral hypersensitivity-related neurochemicals,and transient receptor potential(TRP)receptor mRNA and protein levels were investigated.Results:Compared with the control group,the expression of tryptase in MCs,the changes of intercellular space,and the serum levels of substance P(SP),calcitonin gene-related peptides(CGRP)and proteinaseactivated receptor 2(PAR2)increased in the model group(all P<.05).The expression of TRP vanilloid 1(Trpv1)mRNA decreased in esophagus and dorsal root ganglia(DRG)of the model group(P=.030&P=.013),and the expression of TRP melastatin channel subfamily member 8(Trpm8)mRNA decreased in the esophagus of model group(P<.01).The level of esophageal TRPV1 protein increased in the model group(P<.01)and the level of TRPM8 protein decreased in esophagus and DRG of the model group(both P<.05).Compared with the model group,the serum levels of SP,CGRP,and PAR2 in the mediumdose HWJNG group showed significant decreases(all P<.05).The expression of Trpv1 mRNA in esophagus and DRG of the HWJNG groups and the Omeprazole group remarkably decreased(all P<.05),as was the expression of Trpm8 mRNA in esophagus of the HWJNG groups(all P<.05).Conclusion:HWJNG alleviated visceral hypersensitivity in NERD model rats by regulating TRP-mediated signaling.Our results indicate that HWJNG has potential as a therapeutic agent for NERD. | Jiali Liu Fushun Kou Xiang Tan Yi Dai Chune Xie Xiaohong Li Lei Shi Tangyou Mao Xiaojun Shi Junxiang Li | 2020 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2020,7,2: | 1 |
| 11 | Assessment of sandy desertification trends in the Shule River Basin from 1978 to 2010显示文摘Sandy desertification in the Shule River Basin has expanded dramatically during the past 30 years.We evaluated the status,evolution,and main causes of sandy desertification by interpreting Landsat images which were acquired in 1978,1990,2000,2005,and 2010,and analyzing the relevant meteorological data.The results show there was 3,477.95 km2,3,733.32 km2,3,620.29 km2,3,565.65 km2,and 3,557.88 km2of sandy desertified land in 1978,1990,2000,2005,and 2010,respectively.From 1978 to 1990,not only the area of sandy desertified land(SDL)but also the degree of SDL levels increased.From 1990 to 2010 there was widespread restoration of SDL but the recovery trend of SDL gradually slowed.Although climate change contributes to expanding sandy desertification,human activities can either accelerate or reverse trends of natural sandy desertification.Some detrimental human activities can accelerate sandy desertification,but,conversely,desertification control measures such as the Three-North Shelter Forest Project and watershed rehabilitation programs in areas including the Shule River Basin resulted in many SDL being turned into grasslands or forest lands when shrubs and trees were planted to fix mobile sands at the edges of oases and cities.With population growth,much SDL has been reclaimed as farm land using water-saving agricultural methods or has been turned into built-up land as a result of urbanization. | Xiang Song ChangZhen Yan Sen Li JiaLi Xie | 2014 | Research in Cold and Arid Regions2014,6,1: | 1 |

| 14 | Random mating mayfly algorithm for RFID network planning显示文摘In order to improve robustness and efficiency of the radio frequency identification(RFID)network,a random mating mayfly algorithm(RMMA)was proposed.Firstly,RMMA introduced the mechanism of random mating into the mayfly algorithm(MA),which improved the population diversity and enhanced the exploration ability of the algorithm in the early stage,and find a better solution to the RFID nework planning(RNP)problem.Secondly,in RNP,tags are usually placed near the boundaries of the working space,so the minimum boundary mutation strategy was proposed to make sure the mayflies which beyond the boundary can keep the original search direction,as to enhance the ability of searching near the boundary.Lastly,in order to measure the performance of RMMA,the algorithm is then benchmarked on three well-known classic test functions,and the results are verified by a comparative study with particle swarm optimization(PSO),grey wolf optimization(GWO),and MA.The results show that the RMMA algorithm is able to provide very competitive results compared to these well-known meta-heuristics,RMMA is also applied to solve RNP problems.The performance evaluation shows that RMMA achieves higher coverage than the other three algorithms.When the number of readers is the same,RMMA can obtain lower interference and get a better load balance in each instance compared with other algorithms.RMMA can also solve RNP problem stably and efficiently when the number and position of tags change over time. | Xie Xiaode Zheng Jiali Lin Zihan He Siyi Feng Minyu | 2022 | The Journal of China Universities of Posts and Telecommunications2022,29,5: | 1 |

| 16 | Detecting winter canola(Brassica napus) phenological stages using an improved shape-model method based on time-series UAV spectral data显示文摘Accurate information about phenological stages is essential for canola field management practices such as irrigation, fertilization, and harvesting. Previous studies in canola phenology monitoring focused mainly on the flowering stage, using its apparent structure features and colors. Additional phenological stages have been largely overlooked. The objective of this study was to improve a shape-model method(SMM) for extracting winter canola phenological stages from time-series top-of-canopy reflectance images collected by an unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV). The transformation equation of the SMM was refined to account for the multi-peak features of the temporal dynamics of three vegetation indices(VIs)(NDVI, EVI, and CI). An experiment with various seeding scenarios was conducted, including four different seeding dates and three seeding densities. Three mathematical functions: asymmetric Gaussian function(AGF), Fourier function, and double logistic function, were employed to fit timeseries vegetation indices to extract information about phenological stages. The refined SMM effectively estimated the phenological stages of canola, with a minimum root mean square error(RMSE) of 3.7 days for all phenological stages. The AGF function provided the best fitting performance, as it captured multiple peaks in the growth dynamics characteristics for all seeding date scenarios using four scaling parameters. For the three selected VIs, CIred-edgeachieved the greatest accuracy in estimating the phenological stage dates. | 19 | The Influence of Meridional Variation in North Pacific Sea Surface Temperature Anomalies on the Arctic Stratospheric Polar Vortex显示文摘This study examines the dependence of Arctic stratospheric polar vortex(SPV)variations on the meridional positions of the sea surface temperature(SST)anomalies associated with the first leading mode of North Pacific SST.The principal component 1(PC1)of the first leading mode is obtained by empirical orthogonal function decomposition.Reanalysis data,numerical experiments,and CMIP5 model outputs all suggest that the PC1 events(positive-minus-negative PC1 events),located relatively northward(i.e.,North PC1 events),more easily weaken the Arctic SPV compared to the PC1 events located relatively southward(i.e.,South PC1 events).The analysis indicates that the North PC1-related Aleutian low anomaly is located over the northern North Pacific and thus enhances the climatological trough,which strengthens the planetary-scale wave 1 at mid-to-high latitudes and thereby weakens the SPV.The weakened stratospheric circulation further extends into the troposphere and favors negative surface temperature anomalies over Eurasia.By contrast,the South PC1-related Aleutian low anomaly is located relatively southward,and its constructive interference with the climatological trough is less efficient at high latitudes.Thus,the South PC1 events could not induce an evident enhancement of the planetary-scale waves at high latitudes and thereby a weakening of the SPV on average.The Eurasian cooling associated with South PC1 events(positive-minus-negative PC1 events)is also not prominent.The results of this study suggest that the meridional positions of the PC1 events may be useful for predicting the Arctic SPV and Eurasian surface temperature variations. | Tao WANG Qiang FU Wenshou TIAN Hongwen LIU Yifeng PENG Fei XIE Hongying TIAN Jiali LUO | 2023 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2023,40,12: | 1 |
