1Bipolar transurethral enucleation and resection of the prostate:Whether it is ready to supersede TURP?显示文摘Objective:According to the EAU Guidelines,transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP)has so far still been considered as the gold standard for surgical treatment for patients with obstructing clinical benign prostate hyperplasia(BPH).However,its relatively high rate of complications and postoperative recurrence necessitates further modification and innovation on the surgery technique.We reported the patient outcomes with our technique.Methods:We retrospectively analyzed 52 patients with obstructing clinical BPH who underwent bipolar transurethral enucleation and resection of the prostate(B-TUERP)between March 2015 and September 2015.Pre-and perioperative parameters were obtained from medical charts.Postoperative follow-ups were administrated at 1,3,6,12 and 24 month(s)after surgery,respectively.Results:All the operations were performed successfully with a mean operative time of 43.1 min and an average tissue removal rate of 74.7%.Qmax was significantly improved immediately after surgery,followed by a continuous improvement throughout the follow-ups.Following a steep decrease in mean prostate specific antigen(PSA)and post void residual(PVR)observed within the first half year after surgery,the serum PSA was then maintained at a constant level of 0.61 ng/mL.Temporary urinary retention was found in four cases(7.7%).Stress urinary incontinence occurred in five patients(9.6%),with the condition resolved in 1e2 weeks without extra treatment.Urethral strictures and bladder neck contractures,as the most commonly observed long-term complications,developed in four patients(7.7%).No recurrence was found during 2 years of follow-ups.An improvement in International Index of Erectile Function(IIEF-5)scores was witnessed in 17 patients preoperatively with normal sexual function during the first 6 months after surgery,and sustained throughout the 24-month period.Conclusions:Enucleation reflects an improvement on surgical technique in many ways with a need for surgical equipment that can be broadly accessible in clinical practice.Currently,bipolar resection is a commonly employed procedure in clinical settings,and its similarity shared with bipolar enucleation technique warrants a quick learning of B-TUERP by urologists.Based on these findings,we believe that the substitution of TURP by TUERP as the gold standard for prostate endoscopic procedure can be expected in the future.Peng Xu Abai Xu Binshen Chen Shaobo Zheng Yawen Xu Hulin Li Haiyan Shen Chunxiao Liu 2018Asian Journal of Urology2018,5,1:19
2Blocking FSH inhibits hepatic cholesterol biosynthesis and reduces serum cholesterol显示文摘Menopause is associated with dyslipidemia and an increased risk of cardio-cerebrovascular disease.The classic view assumes that the underlying mechanism of dyslipidemia is attributed to an insufficiency of estrogen.In addition to a decrease in estrogen, circulating follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)levels become elevated at menopause.In this study,we find that blocking FSH reduces serum cholesterol via inhibiting hepatic cholesterol biosynthesis.First,epidemiological results show that the serum FSH levels are positively correlated with the serum total cholesterol levels,even after adjustment by considering the effects of serum estrogen,in addition,the prevalence of hypercholesterolemia is significantly higher in peri-menopausal women than that in premenopausal women.Furthermore,we generated a mouse model of FSH elevation by intraperitoneally injecting exogenous FSH into ovariectomized (OVX)mice,in which a normal level of estrogen (E2)was maintained by exogenous supplementation. Consistently,the results indicate that FSH,independent of estrogen,increases the serum cholesterol level in this mouse model. 3The prognostic and therapeutic implications of circulating tumor cell phenotype detection based on epithelial-mesenchymal transition markers in the first-line chemotherapy of HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer显示文摘Background:Epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)is implicated in the metastatic process and presents a chal-lenge to epithelial cell adhesion molecule-based detection of circulating tumor cells(CTCs),which have been demon-strated to be a prognostic indicator in metastatic breast cancer.Although evidence has indicated that heterogeneity of CTCs based on EMT markers is associated with disease progression,no standard recommendations have been established for clinical practice.This study aimed to evaluate the prognostic significance of dynamic CTC detection based on EMT for metastatic breast cancer patients.Methods:We enrolled 108 human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative metastatic breast cancer patients from the prospective phase III CAMELLIA study and applied the CanPatrol CTC enrichment technique to identify CTC phenotypes(including epithelial CTCs,biphenotypic epithelial/mesenchymal CTCs,and mesenchymal CTCs)in peripheral blood samples.Receiver operating characteristic curve analyses of total CTC count and the proportion of mesenchymal CTCs for predicting the 1-year progression-free survival(PFS)rate were conducted to determine the optimal cut-off values,and Kaplan-Meier analysis and Cox proportional hazards regression analysis were performed to investigate the prognostic value of the cut-off values of both total CTC count and the proportion of mesenchymal CTCs in combination.Results:For predicting the 1-year PFS rate,the optimal cut-off value of total CTC count was 9.5(Area under the curve[AUC]=0.538,95%confidence interval[CI]=0.418-0.657),and that of the proportion of mesenchymal CTCs was 10.7%(AUC=0.581,95%CI=0.463-0.699).We used the two cut-off values in combination to forecast PFS in which the total CTC count was equaled to or exceeded 10/5 mL with the proportion of mesenchymal CTCs surpassed 10.7%.Patients who met the combined criteria had significantly shorter median PFS than did those who did not meet the criteria(6.2 vs.9.9 months,P=0.010).A nomogram was constructed based on the criteria and significant clinicopatho-logical characteristics with a C-index of 0.613(P=0.010).Conclusions: The criteria, which combine the total CTC count and the proportion of mesenchymal CTCs, may be used to monitor therapeutic resistance and predict prognosis in patients with metastatic breast cancer.Xiuwen Guan Fei Ma Chunxiao Li Shiyang Wu Shangying Hu Jiefen Huang Xiaoying Sun Jiayu Wang Yang Luo Ruigang Cai Ying Fan Qiao Li Shanshan Chen Pin Zhang Qing Li Binghe Xu 2019Cancer Communications2019,39,1:15

5The first observation of the atmospheric tides in the mesosphere and lower thermosphere over Hainan, China显示文摘Fuke (19.5°N, 109.1°E) meteor radar is the first radar of the low latitudes of China, which is used to detect the wind in the meso- sphere and lower thermosphere. In this paper, by using the wind data near three months (1 February-20 April, 2009), we first present the variation of the atmospheric diurnal tide, semidiurnal tide and mean wind in the height range 80-100 km over the low latitudes of China. The results from our analysis are summarized below. During spring months, there are quite strong tides in the mesopause region of Fuke. The diurnal tidal amplitude is significantly larger than the amplitude of semidiurnal tide, and the maximum amplitude (about 100 m/s) of diurnal tide appear in the meridional wind. The vertical phases of both diurnal tide and semidiurnal tide propagate downward. 6Clinical characteristics and effectiveness of antiviral agents in hospitalized children with infectious mononucleosis in China:A multicenter retrospective study显示文摘Importance:The clinical characteristics of infectious mononucleosis(IM)in Chinese children have not been evaluated in multicenter studies,and the effectiveness of antiviral treatment are controversial.Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics of Chinese children with IM and current status of antiviral therapy for affected patients.Methods:Hospitalized patients with IM were enrolled between 2018 and 2020 in five children’s hospitals in China.The clinical characteristics were compared among four age groups:<3 years,3-<6 years,6-<10 years,and≥10 years.The clinical characteristics of IM and effectiveness of antiviral therapy were compared among patients receiving acyclovir(ACV),ganciclovir(GCV),and no antiviral therapy(i.e.,non-antiviral group).Results:In total,499 patients were analyzed;most patients were 3-<6 years of age.The most common symptoms and signs included fever(100%),lymphadenopathy(98.6%),pharyngitis(86.4%),eyelid edema(76.8%),and snoring(72.9%).There were significant differences in rash,hepatomegaly,and liver dysfunction among the four age groups.Patients aged<3 years had a lower incidence of liver dysfunction and a higher incidence of rash.Among the 499 patients,50.1%were treated with GCV,26.3%were treated with ACV,and 23.6%received no antiviral therapy.Compared with the non-antiviral group,patients in the ACV and GCV groups had longer durations of fever(P<0.001).There were no significant differences in the incidences of complications among the three treatment groups.Interpretation:The incidence of IM in Chinese children peaked at 3-<6 years of age.Clinical features of IM varied according to age.Patients receiving antiviral therapy exhibited more serious clinical manifestations than did patients without antiviral therapy.The effectiveness of antiviral therapy for IM requires further analysis.Huili Hu Huiling Deng Jing Bi Yi Xu Shuangjie Li Yue Xie Xinrong Sun Dongmeng Wang Xufang Li Wenxian Ouyang Bing Hu Yufeng Zhang He Tang Chunxiao Fang Hui Zhang Lingyun Guo Chen Wang Tianyi Wang Fengxia Yang Tao Jiang Zhengde Xie Gang Liu 2021Pediatric Investigation2021,5,3:12

8Percent free prostate-specific antigen for prostate cancer diagnosis in Chinese men with a PSA of 4.0-10.0 ng/mL:Results from the Chinese Prostate Cancer Consortium显示文摘Objective:To test the diagnostic performance of percent free prostate-specific antigen(%fPSA)in predicting any prostate cancer(PCa)and high-grade prostate cancer(HGPCa)in a retrospective multi-center biopsy cohort with a PSA level of 4.0e10.0 ng/mL in China.Methods:Consecutive patients with a PSA of 4.0-10.0 ng/mL who underwent transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy were enrolled at 16 Chinese medical centers from January 1st,2010 to December 31st,2013.Total and free serum PSA determinations were performed using three types of electro-chemiluminescence immunoassays recalibrated to the World Health Organization(WHO)standard.The diagnostic accuracy of PSA,%fPSA,and %fPSA in combination with PSA(%fPSA t PSA)was determined using the area under the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve(AUC).Results:A total of 2310 consecutive men with PSA levels between 4.0 and 10.0 ng/mL were included,and the detection rate of PCa was 25.1%.The AUC of%fPSA and %fPSA t PSA in predicting any PCa was superior to PSA alone in men aged≥60 years(0.623 vs.0.534,p<0.0001)but not in men aged 40e59 years(0.517 vs.0.518,p=0.939).Similar result was yield in predicting HGPCa.Conclusion:In a clinical setting of Chinese men with 4.0e10.0 ng/mL PSA undergoing initial prostate biopsy,adding %fPSA to PSA can moderately improve the diagnostic accuracy for any PCa and HGPCa compared with PSA alone in patients≥60 but not in patients aged 40-59 years.Rui Chen Liping Xie Xiaobing Cai Yiran Huang Liqun Zhou Lulin Ma Xu Gao Chuanliang Xu Shancheng Ren Pengfei Shao Danfeng Xu Kexin Xu Zhangqun Ye Chunxiao Liu Dingwei Ye Li Lu Qiang Fu Jianquan Hou Jianlin Yuan Dalin He Tie Zhou Fubo Wang Biming He Yinghao Sun 2015Asian Journal of Urology2015,2,2:8

10Clinical spectrum and prognostic value of TP53 mutations in circulating tumor DNA from breast cancer patients in China显示文摘Background:TP53 mutations are common in breast cancer.There is currently no large-scale cohort study to investigate the TP53 landscape in breast cancer patients from China.The predictive value of TP53 mutations for the efficacy of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)-targeted therapy in breast cancer remains controversial.In the present study,we aimed to analyze the clinical spectrum and prognostic value of TP53 mutations in circulating tumor DNA(ctDNA)from breast cancer patients in China.Methods:We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data and TP53 mutation features in ctDNA samples from 804 patients withmetastatic breast cancer.TP53 mutations were detected by target region capture-based next-generation sequencing.The relationship between TP53 mutation status and disease-free survival(DFS)was analyzed in 444 patientswithmetastatic breast cancer.Moreover,the relationship between TP53 mutation status and progression-free survival(PFS)was analyzed in 55 HER2-positive patients treated with first-line trastuzumab-based therapy.Kaplan-Meier analysis was performed to estimate the survival curves of the different subgroups,and the log-rank test was used to compare the curves.A Cox regression model was used to estimate multivariable-adjusted hazard ratios and their 95%confidence intervals(CIs)associated with the DFS and PFS.Results:Among the 804 investigated patients,431(53.6%)patients harbored TP53 mutations.TP53 mutations were differentially distributed among different molecular subtypes of breast cancer(P<0.05).Patients with TP53 mutations had a shorter DFS than those with wild-type TP53(hazard ratio=1.32,95%CI=1.09-1.61,P=0.005).TP53 mutations in exons 5-8 were associated with worse outcome(hazard ratio=1.50,95%CI=1.11-2.03,P=0.009).However,TP53 mutation status was not significantly associated with PFS in HER2-positive patients who received firstline trastuzumab-based therapy(P=0.966).Interestingly,in the taxane combination group,patients with TP53 mutations exhibited longer PFS than those without TP53 mutations(hazard ratio=0.08,95%CI=0.02-0.30,P<0.001).However,in the nontaxane combination group,patients with TP53 mutations displayed shorter PFS than those with wild-type TP53(hazard ratio=4.84,95%CI=1.60-14.66,P=0.005).Conclusions:TP53 mutations in exons 5-8 may be an independent prognostic marker for short DFS in patients with metastatic breast cancer.TP53 mutations had opposite effects on trastuzumab-treated patients treated with and without taxanes.Zongbi Yi Fei Ma Guohua Rong Yanfang Guan Chunxiao Li Binghe Xu 2020Cancer Communications2020,40,6:5
11On hairpin vortex generation from near-wall streamwise vortices显示文摘The generation of a hairpin vortex from near-wall streamwise vortices is studied via the direct numerical simulation(DNS) of the streak transient growth in the minimal channel flow at Re_τ— 400.The streak profile is obtained by conditionally averaging the DNS data of the fully developed turbulent channel flow at the same Reynolds number.The near-wall streamwise vortices are produced by the transient growth of the streak which is initially subjected to the sinuous perturbation of the spanwise velocity.It is shown that the arch head of the hairpin vortex first grows from the downstream end of the stronger streamwise vortex and then connects with the weaker,opposite-signed streamwise vortex in their overlap region,forming a complete individual hairpin structure.The vorticity transport along the vortex lines indicates that the strength increase and the spatial expansion of the arch head are due to the stretching and the turning of the vorticity vector,respectively.The hairpin packets could be further produced from the generated individual hairpin vortex following the parent-offspring process.Yinshan Wang Weixi Huang Chunxiao Xu 2015Acta Mechanica Sinica2015,31,2:5

13The association between early-onset cardiac events caused by neoadjuvant or adjuvant chemotherapy in triple-negative breast cancer patients and some novel autophagy-related polymorphisms in their genomic DNA: a real-world study显示文摘Background:An increasing number of cancer patients die of cardiovascular diseases.The cardiotoxicity of chemo-therapy is particularly important in triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)with limited therapeutic options.Cardiac autophagy is an important mechanism of cardiotoxicity.This research was aimed to investigate the cardiotoxicity of chemotherapy in TNBC,screen the susceptible population,and determine the relationship between cardiotoxicity and autophagy-related polymorphisms.Methods:From a total of 2450 stage I-III TNBC patients,147 met the inclusion criteria and finally recruited.Electro-cardiography(ECG)was performed before most chemotherapy cycles,and echocardiography(UCG)was performed according to clinical needs.All ECG and UCG records were re-interpreted by cardiologists at the National Center for Cardiovascular Disease,Fuwai Hospital.According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information and the Catalog of Somatic Mutations in Cancer database,we selected 25 single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)related to autophagy and genotyped the 147 TNBC patients.Paired-sample T tests,Chi squared tests,and logistic regression models were employed for the analysis.Results:Only 46(31.3%)patients had normal ECG records after every chemotherapy cycle.Among the 16 patients who underwent UCG,2(12.5%)had a reversible decrease of left ventricular ejection fraction.The use of anthracyclines and excessive alcohol consumption were risk factors of ECG abnormalities.With the continuation of chemotherapy,heart rate gradually increased.Anthracyclines were associated with QRS duration abnormalities(P=0.043).After genotyping for 25 autophagy-related SNPs,we found that the G allele of autophagy-related 13(ATG13)rs10838611 was significantly associated with ECG abnormalities(odds ratio=2.258,95%confidence interval=1.318-3.869;P=0.003).Conclusion:ECG abnormalities caused by chemotherapy are common in the real world.Autophagy-related SNPs are associated with chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity,thereby providing new evidence for autophagy as a cause of chemotherapy-induced cardiac damage.Binliang Liu Tao An Meiying Li Zongbi Yi Chunxiao Li Xiaoying Sun Xiuwen Guan Lixi Li Yanfeng Wang Yuhui Zhang Binghe Xu Fei Ma Yixin Zeng 2018Cancer Communications2018,38,1:5
14Active control of turbulence for drag reduction based on the detection of near-wall streamwise vortices by wall information显示文摘The spatial relations between the measurable wall quantities(streamwise shear stress τwx, spanwise shear stress τwz, and pressure fluctuation p w) and the near-wall streamwise vortices(NWSV) are investigated via direct numerical simulation(DNS) databases of fully developed turbulent channel flow at a low Reynolds number. In the standard turbulent channel flow, the results show that all the wall measurable variables are closely associated with the NWSV.Butafterapplyingastochasticinterference,therelationbased on τwx breaks down while the correlations based on p wandτwz are still robust. Hence, two wall flow quantities based on p wand τwz are proposed to detect the NWSV. 15Effect of active control on optimal structures in wall turbulence显示文摘The effect of active control imposed at the wall on optimal structures in wall turbulence is studied by using a linear transient growth model.When the detection plane of the control is located in the buffer layer,the influence of the control on the transient growth of large scale motion becomes negligible as Reynolds number increases.However,if the control signal is detected at the plane located in the logarithm region,the transient growth at large scale can be greatly suppressed.New peak values of transient growth resulting from the strong blowing and suction on the wall exist.The study indicates that a proper selection of control imposed on the wall can suppress the large scale motion in the logarithmic region.DENG BingQing XU ChunXiao HUANG WeiXi CUI GuiXiang 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,2:3
16Structure and property of metal melt Ⅳ——Evolution of titanium melt residual bond structure and its effect on dynamic viscosity显示文摘Based on the concept of melt residual bonds, a calculating model quantitatively describing the evolution of the residual bond structure of titanium melt at the melting point or in a certain range above the melting point was established; i.e., both the size dS and the bond number n of the residual bond structure decrease monotonously with the increase of temperature. 17A composite model for complex building street configuration in a large eddy simulation of local urban atmospheric environment显示文摘The wind field and pollutant dispersion are predicted numerically in a local urban area with crowded buildings and heavy traffic.A domain decomposition method is used in the large eddy simulation,in which the urban area is decomposed into a central area,where pollution is the major concern,and a surrounding region,where the pollutant distribution is not important.The composite model is proposed for the complex building-street layout.The fine grid mesh is used to resolve the buildings in the central area while the buildings are treated as roughness elements in the surrounding region where the coarse grids are used.The proposed numerical method is applied to simulate the wind field and pollutant dispersion from vehicle exhaust in the Rua Do Campo area of Macao.The results show that the composite model is an appropriate method for predicting wind field and pollutant dispersion in the crowded building area.LIU YuShi CUI GuiXiang WANG ZhiShi HUANG WeiXi XU ChunXiao ZHANG ZhaoShun 2011Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2011,54,4:3

20Applications of Metal–Organic Frameworks and Their Derivatives in Electrochemical CO_(2)Reduction显示文摘Electrochemically reducing CO_(2)to more reduced chemical species is a promising way that not only enables the conversion of intermittent energy resources to stable fuels,but also helps to build a closed-loop anthropogenic carbon cycle.Among various electrocatalysts for electrochemical CO_(2)reduction,multifunctional metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)have been employed as highly efficient and selective heterogeneous electrocatalysts due to their ultrahigh porosity and topologically diverse structures.Up to now,great progress has been achieved in the design and synthesis of highly active and selective MOF-related catalysts for electrochemical CO_(2)reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR),and their corresponding reaction mechanisms have been thoroughly studied.In this review,we summarize the recent progress of applying MOFs and their derivatives in CO_(2)RR,with a focus on the design strategies for electrocatalysts and electrolyzers.We first discussed the reaction mechanisms for different CO_(2)RR products and introduced the commonly applied electrolyzer configurations in the current CO_(2)RR system.Then,an overview of several categories of products(CO,HCOOH,CH_(4),CH_(3)OH,and multi-carbon chemicals)generated from MOFs or their derivatives via CO_(2)RR was discussed.Finally,we offer some insights and perspectives for the future development of MOFs and their derivatives in electrochemical CO_(2)reduction.We aim to provide new insights into this field and further guide future research for large-scale applications.Chengbo Li Yuan Ji Youpeng Wang Chunxiao Liu Zhaoyang Chen Jialin Tang Yawei Hong Xu Li Tingting Zheng Qiu Jiang Chuan Xia 2023Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,8:2
