1Impending HRT wave precursors to the Wenchuan M_s8.0 earthquake and methods of earthquake impending prediction by using HRT wave显示文摘We deployed four geo-electric monitoring stations in Sichuan and Yunnan provinces from 2004, using the new generation of equipment (PS-100) and technologies to capture the HRT wave earthquake precursor. Before the Wenchuan Ms8.0 earthquake, we recorded the HRT wave precursor at the only operating station in Hongge (HG, Δ=465 km) and found that significant impending signal had been recorded at the station in the early morning ( 0―5 am) of 12th of May, 2008. The precursor for this earthquake is consistent with precursors recorded for other strong earthquakes. The measured physical properties (geo-resistivity and telluric-current) show tidal wave period oscillations from several days to several months before the earthquakes and the amplitude of such HT oscillation increases significantly towards the occurrence of an earthquake. These HT and RT waves from the epicenter have a causal relationship with the earthquakes that happened several days later. The arrival time of two RT waves is proportional to the distance from the station to the epicenter. The estimated natural decay of the amplitude is correlated with the natural period (T0) of the earthquake fault, which is proportional to the fault length. From this relationship, we can predict the earthquake magnitude. For magnitude 6―9 earthquakes, the natural period is about 1―6 hours. Such oscillation comes from the epicenter area and they can propagate several thousand kilometers in the Earth's crust. Before a strong earthquake in the shallow crust, the conductive pore fluid will experience major changes before the fault rapture. Such fluid change will emit an oscillation in the pore fluid pressure. This is the mechanism for the HRT wave generation. Since the China Earthquake Administration funded the HRT wave short-term earth-quake prediction project in 2003, the first record of HRT precursor wave has been recorded from the 2004-12-26 Sumatra Mw9.0 earthquake with the largest epicentre distance Δ=2900 km. Thereafter, we have captured HRT waves from more than twenty strong earthquakes, which are well-matched and show repeatability, consistency and regularity. All our observation with the HRT waves demonstrate that HRT wave precursors to earthquakes indeed exist. Strong earthquakes can be predicted and short-term and impending earthquake prediction is achievable in the very near future. 2Effects of Shuanghuanglian oral liquids on patients with COVID-19:a randomized,open-label,parallel-controlled,multicenter clinical trial显示文摘We conducted a randomized,open-label,parallel-controlled,multicenter trial on the use of Shuanghuanglian(SHL),a traditional Chinese patent medicine,in treating cases of COVID-19.A total of 176 patients received SHL by three doses(56 in low dose,61 in middle dose,and 59 in high dose)in addition to standard care.The control group was composed of 59 patients who received standard therapy alone.Treatment with SHL was not associated with a difference from standard care in the time to disease recovery.Patients with 14-day SHL treatment had significantly higher rate in negative conversion of SARS-CoV-2 in nucleic acid swab tests than the patients from the control group(93.4%vs.73.9%,P=0.006).Analysis of chest computed tomography images showed that treatment with high-dose SHL significantly promoted absorption of inflammatory focus of pneumonia,which was evaluated by density reduction of inflammatory focus from baseline,at day 7(mean difference(95%CI),−46.39(−86.83 to−5.94)HU;P=0.025)and day 14(mean difference(95%CI),−74.21(−133.35 to−15.08)HU;P=0.014).No serious adverse events occurred in the SHL groups.This study illustrated that SHL in combination with standard care was safe and partially effective for the treatment of COVID-19.Li Ni Zheng Wen Xiaowen Hu Wei Tang Haisheng Wang Ling Zhou Lujin Wu Hong Wang Chang Xu Xizhen Xu Zhichao Xiao Zongzhe Li Chene Li Yujian Liu Jialin Duan Chen Chen Dan Li Runhua Zhang Jinliang Li Yongxiang Yi Wei Huang Yanyan Chen Jianping Zhao Jianping Zuo Jianping Weng Hualiang Jiang Dao Wen Wang 2021Frontiers of Medicine2021,15,5:7
3The heterogeneity of islet autoantibodies and the progression of islet failure in type 1 diabetic patients显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. 6In situ establishment of Co/MoS_(2) heterostructures onto inverse opal‐structured N,S‐doped carbon hollow nanospheres:Interfacial and architectural dual engineering for efficient hydrogen evolution reaction显示文摘Rational design of low‐cost and high‐efficiency non‐precious metal‐based catalysts toward the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)is of paramount significance for the sustainable development of the hydrogen economy.Interfacial manipulationinduced electronic modulation represents a sophisticated strategy to enhance the intrinsic activity of a non‐precious electrocatalyst.Herein,we demonstrate the straightforward construction of Co/MoS_(2) hetero‐nanoparticles anchored on inverse opal‐structured N,S‐doped carbon hollow nanospheres with an ordered macroporous framework(denoted as Co/MoS_(2)@N,S-CHNSs hereafter)via a templateassisted method.Systematic experimental evidence and theoretical calculations reveal that the formation of Co/MoS_(2) heterojunctions can effectively modulate the electronic configuration of active sites and optimize the reaction pathways,remarkably boosting the intrinsic activity.Moreover,the inverse opal‐structured carbon substrate with an ordered porous framework is favorable to enlarge the accessible surface area and provide multidimensional mass transport channels,dramatically expediting the reaction kinetics.Thanks to the compositional synergy and structural superiority,the fabricated Co/MoS_(2)@N,S-CHNSs exhibit excellent HER activity with a low overpotential of 105mV to afford a current density of 10 mA/cm^(2).The rationale of interface manipulation and architectural design herein is anticipated to be inspirable for the future development of efficient and earth‐abundant electrocatalysts for a variety of energy conversion systems.Tingyu Lu Tongfei Li Desheng Shi Jialin Sun Huan Pang Lin Xu Jun Yang Yawen Tang 2021SmartMat2021,2,4:3
7Applications of Metal–Organic Frameworks and Their Derivatives in Electrochemical CO_(2)Reduction显示文摘Electrochemically reducing CO_(2)to more reduced chemical species is a promising way that not only enables the conversion of intermittent energy resources to stable fuels,but also helps to build a closed-loop anthropogenic carbon cycle.Among various electrocatalysts for electrochemical CO_(2)reduction,multifunctional metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)have been employed as highly efficient and selective heterogeneous electrocatalysts due to their ultrahigh porosity and topologically diverse structures.Up to now,great progress has been achieved in the design and synthesis of highly active and selective MOF-related catalysts for electrochemical CO_(2)reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR),and their corresponding reaction mechanisms have been thoroughly studied.In this review,we summarize the recent progress of applying MOFs and their derivatives in CO_(2)RR,with a focus on the design strategies for electrocatalysts and electrolyzers.We first discussed the reaction mechanisms for different CO_(2)RR products and introduced the commonly applied electrolyzer configurations in the current CO_(2)RR system.Then,an overview of several categories of products(CO,HCOOH,CH_(4),CH_(3)OH,and multi-carbon chemicals)generated from MOFs or their derivatives via CO_(2)RR was discussed.Finally,we offer some insights and perspectives for the future development of MOFs and their derivatives in electrochemical CO_(2)reduction.We aim to provide new insights into this field and further guide future research for large-scale applications.Chengbo Li Yuan Ji Youpeng Wang Chunxiao Liu Zhaoyang Chen Jialin Tang Yawei Hong Xu Li Tingting Zheng Qiu Jiang Chuan Xia 2023Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,8:2
8The effects of portable cooling systems on thermal comfort and work performance in a hot environment显示文摘There are some special spaces in which there is no air conditioning or the people are in move,thus exposing people to a hot environment.In this study,portable cooling systems were proposed and their effects on thermal comfort and work performance were investigated at an air temperature of 32°C.Four conditions were established:cool air towards breathing zone(A),chest and back cooling(B)#combined cooling(C)and no cooling(D).Twenty-eight subjects were exposed to the four conditions in a counterbalanced order.During each exposure they performed tasks and made subjective assessments,while multiple physiological parameters were measured.Compared with no cooling(D),cool air towards breathing zone(A)and chest and back cooling(B)improved work performance by 17.5%and 19.25%,respectively,while decreased the subjects'thermal sensation,skin temperature,and heart rate.When the two cooling systems were combined(C),larger improvements in thermal comfort and work performance were achieved than no cooling(D);the mean thermal sensation rating decreased from 2.4 to 0.7;work performance increased by up to 33%,and physiological parameters including skin temperature,pulse,heart rate and salivary alpha-amylase significantly decreased.The present results suggest that the proposed portable cooling systems could maintain thermal comfort and work performance in a hot environment,while potentially improve air quality for some special spaces.Jieyu Tang Yu Liu Hui Du Li Lan Yuxiang Sun Jialin Wu 2021Building Simulation2021,14,6:2

11Numerical Simulation on Interfacial Creep Failure of Dissimilar Metal Welded Joint between HR3C and T91 Heat-Resistant Steel显示文摘The maximum principal stress, von Mises equivalent stress, equivalent creep strain, stress triaxiality in dissimilar metal welded joints between austenitic(HR3C) and martensitic heat-resistant steel(T91) are simulated by FEM at 873 K and under inner pressure of 42.26 MPa. The results show that the maximum principal stress and von Mises equivalent stress are quite high in the vicinity of weld/T91 interface, creep cavities are easy to form and expand in the weld/T91 interface. There are two peaks of equivalent creep strains in welded joint, and the maximum equivalent creep strain is in the place 27-32 mm away from the weld/T91 interface, and there exists creep constrain region in the vicinity of weld/T91 interface. The high stress triaxiality peak is located exactly at the weld/T91 interface. Accordingly, the weld/T91 interface is the weakest site of welded joint. 15Molecular characterization of avian influenza virus (H7N8) isolated from poultry in Central China in the mid-1980s显示文摘The molecular and pathogenic properties of avian influenza virus (A/duck/Hubei/216/1985/H7N8) isolated from Hubei Province of China in 1985 were characterized.The hemagglutinin gene (HA) of Dk/Hb/216/85/H7N8 had the multiple amino acid se-quences (-PEIPKGRG-) at the connecting peptide between HA1 and HA2, which is considered to be a distinguishing molecular characteristic of low pathogenicity.The key sites of host markers among the genes (M, NP, NS, PA and PB2) of Dk/Hb/ 216/85/H7N8 were similar to those of H5N1 viruses.Phylogenetic analysis showed that the genes (M, NS and PB2) of Dk/Hb/ 216/85/H7N8 clustered closely with those of Gs/Guangdong/1996/H5N1 (Gs/GD/96), implying that three ancient genes of Gs/ GD/96-like viruses had been circulating in Central China during the 1980s.In experimental infection, Dk/Hb/216/85/H7N8 was lowly pathogenic to chickens and mice, consistent with the molecular feature of HA gene.YANG JiaLin XIA Han ZHAO JiuRu HE XiaoBin PAN LiMin TANG Shuang ZHANG Zhong KOU Zheng LI TianXian 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,16:1

18Intermetallics and phase transformations of the Zr-1.0Sn-0.3Nb-0.3Fe-0.1Cr alloy显示文摘Intermetallics and phase transformations of the zirconium-based alloy, Zr-1.0Sn-0.3Nb-0.3Fe-0.1Cr, were investigated by conventional X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and dilation measurement. Three types of precipitates, namely, (ZrNb)2Fe, Zr(CrFe)2, and Zr3Fe, were detected by XRD. The cubic Ti2Ni-type (ZrNb)2Fe was found to be the main precipitate in the alloy, and it was proposed to dissolve at 861°C, whereas Zr3Fe dissolved at 780°C and Zr(CrFe)2 at 814°C. No precipitates were observed at a temperature higher than 900°C. The transformation-start temperature of α-Zr →β-Zr was reconfirmed to be 780°C, and the end temperature of α-Zr →β-Zr was determined to be 955°C. 19Computer Simulation on Temperature Rise in Process of Wire Drawing显示文摘In high speed wire drawing, the temperature rise is produced by the generation heat from plastic deformation of metal material and friction between wire and tool, which greatly influences the lubrication situation and mechanical properties. During high drawing, the phenomenon that wire is embrittled and die is stuck can be formed by the notable temperature rise. In this paper, based on theory of plastic deformation work , considering friction heat generation and variable physical coefficients, the mathematical model of temperature rise of high speed drawing is established and the computer program to analogy the whole process of drawing is compiled. Also the process of wire drawing on a few of alloys are calculated theoretically. 20Circulating Lipoproteins Mediate the Association Between Cardiovascular Risk Factors and Cognitive Decline:A Community‑Based Cohort Study显示文摘Cardiovascular health metrics are now widely recognized as modifable risk factors for cognitive decline and dementia.Metabolic perturbations might play roles in the linkage of cardiovascular diseases and dementia.Circulating metabolites profling by metabolomics may improve understanding of the potential mechanism by which cardiovascular risk factors contribute to cognitive decline.In a prospective community-based cohort in China(n=725),312 serum metabolic phenotypes were quantifed,and cardiovascular health score was calculated including smoking,exercise,sleep,diet,body mass index,blood pressure,and blood glucose.Cognitive function assessments were conducted in baseline and follow-up visits to identify longitudinal cognitive decline.A better cardiovascular health was signifcantly associated with lower risk of concentration decline and orientation decline(hazard ratio(HR):0.84–0.90;p<0.05).Apolipoprotein-A1,high-density lipoprotein(HDL)cholesterol,cholesterol ester,and phospholipid concentrations were signifcantly associated with a lower risk of longitudinal memory and orientation decline(p<0.05 and adjusted-p<0.20).Mediation analysis suggested that the negative association between health status and the risk of orientation decline was partly mediated by cholesterol ester and total lipids in HDL-2 and-3(proportion of mediation:7.68–8.21%,both p<0.05).Cardiovascular risk factors were associated with greater risks of cognitive decline,which were found to be mediated by circulating lipoproteins,particularly the medium-size HDL components.These fndings underscore the potential of utilizing lipoproteins as targets for early stage dementia screening and intervention.Jialin Li Qingxia Huang Yingzhe Wang Mei Cui Kelin Xu Chen Suo Zhenqiu Liu Yanpeng An Li Jin Huiru Tang Xingdong Chen Yanfeng Jiang 2024Phenomics2024,4,1:0
