1Heavy metal pollution in intertidal sediments from Quanzhou Bay, China显示文摘The concentrations of eight heavy metals (Cu, Zn, Pb, Cd, Cr, Ni, Hg, and As) in the intertidal surface sediments from Quanzhou Bay were determined to evaluate their levels and spatial distribution due to urbanization and economic development of Quanzhou region, southeast China. The ranges of the measured concentrations in the sediments are as follows: 24.8–119.7 mg/kg for Cu, 105.5–241.9 mg/kg for Zn, 34.3–100.9 mg/kg for Pb, 0.28–0.89 mg/kg for Cd, 51.1–121.7 mg/kg for Cr, 16.1–45.7 mg/kg for Ni, 0.17–0.74 mg/kg for Hg, and 17.7–30.2 mg/kg for As. The overall average concentrations of above metals exceed the primary standard criteria but meet the secondary standard criteria of the Chinese National Standard of Marine Sediment Quality. Several contents of Cu and Hg exceed the secondary standard criteria at some stations. The results of geoaccumulation index (Igeo) show that Cd causes strong pollution in most of the study area. There are no significant correlations among most of these heavy metals, indicating they have different anthropogenic and natural sources. 2Relationships among hamstring muscle optimal length and hamstring flexibility and strength显示文摘Background:Hamstring muscle strain injury(hamstring injury) due to excessive muscle strain is one of the most common injuries in sports.The relationships among hamstring muscle optimal lengths and hamstring flexibility and strength were unknown,which limited our understanding of risk factors for hamstring injury.This study was aimed at examining the relationships among hamstring muscle optimal length and flexibility and strength.Methods:Hamstring flexibility and isokinetic strength data and three-dimensional kinematic data for hamstring isokinetic tests were collected for11 male and 10 female recreational athletes.The maximal hamstring muscle forces,optimal lengths,and muscle lengths in standing were determined for each participant.Results:Hamstring muscle optimal lengths were significantly correlated to hamstring flexibility score and gender,but not to hamstring strength.The greater the flexibility score,the longer the hamstring muscle optimal length.With the same flexibility score,females tend to have shorter hamstring optimal muscle lengths compared to males.Hamstring flexibility score and hamstring strength were not correlated.Hamstring muscle optimal lengths were longer than but not significantly correlated to corresponding hamstring muscle lengths in standing.Conclusion:Hamstring flexibility may affect hamstring muscle maximum strain in movements.With similar hamstring flexibility,hamstring muscle maximal strain in a given movement may be different between genders.Hamstring muscle lengths in standing should not be used as an approximation of their optimal lengths in calculation of hamstring muscle strain in musculoskeletal system modeling.Xianglin Wan Feng Qu William E.Garrett Hui Liu Bing Yu 2017Journal of Sport and Health Science2017,6,3:6
3Effects of flexibility and strength training on peak hamstring musculotendinous strains during sprinting显示文摘Background:Hamstring injury is one of the most common injuries in sports involving sprinting.Hamstring flexibility and strength are often considered to be modifiable risk factors in hamstring injury.Understanding the effects of hamstring flexibility or strength training on the biomechanics of the hamstring muscles during sprinting could assist in improving prevention strategies and rehabilitation related to these injuries.The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of altering hamstring flexibility or strength on peak hamstring musculotendinous strain during sprinting.Methods:A total of 20 male college students(aged 18-24 years)participated and were randomly assigned to either a flexibility intervention group or a strength intervention group.Each participant executed exercise training 3 times a week for 8 weeks.Flexibility,sprinting,and isokinetic strength testing were performed before and after the 2 interventions.Paired t tests were performed to determine hamstring flexibility or strength intervention effects on optimal hamstring musculotendinous lengths and peak hamstring musculotendinous strains during sprinting.Results:Participants in the flexibility intervention group significantly increased the optimal musculotendinous lengths of the semimembranosus and biceps long head(p<0.026)and decreased peak musculotendinous strains in all 3 bi-articulate hamstring muscles(p<0.004).Participants in the strength-intervention group significantly increased the optimal musculotendinous lengths of all 3 hamstring muscles(p<0.041)and significantly decreased their peak musculotendinous strain during sprinting(p<0.017).Conclusion:Increasing hamstring flexibility or strength through exercise training may assist in reducing the risk of hamstring injury during sprinting for recreational male athletes.Xianglin Wan Shangxiao Li Thomas M.Best Hui Liu Hanjun Li Bing Yu 2021Journal of Sport and Health Science2021,10,2:6
4Platinum-group elements for the mantle peridotites in the Dazhuka ophiolite,Tibet,China显示文摘The total PGE amounts of mantle peridotites in the Dazhuka ophiolite, Tibet, are 28.37-50.67 ng/g, slightly higher than those of mantle peridotites in the primitive mantle, and typical ophiolites in the world, and the Alps-type mantle peridotites. The PGE distribution patterns in the Dazhuka mantle peridotites are also different from those of the mantle peridotites of partial melting relict origin. The Dazhuka mantle peridotites have relatively high total PGE amounts and are enriched in Pt, Pd, and Ru. Their PGE distribution patterns belong to the positively inclined-or swallow-type patterns. The PGE distribution patterns in the mantle peridotites of partial melting relict origin belong to the negative-slope patterns or flat patterns. This reflects the unique features of the upper mantle in this region. 5The effect of hamstring flexibility on peak hamstring muscle strain in sprinting显示文摘Background:The effect of hamstring flexibility on the peak hamstring muscle strains in sprinting,until now,remained unknown,which limited our understanding of risk factors of hamstring muscle strain injury(hamstring injury).As a continuation of our previous study,this study was aimed to examine the relationship between hamstring flexibility and peak hamstring muscle strains in sprinting.Methods:Ten male and 10 female college students participated in this study.Hamstring flexibility,isokinetic strength data,three-dimensional(3D)kinematic data in a hamstring isokinetic test,and kinematic data in a sprinting test were collected for each participant.The optimal hamstring muscle lengths and peak hamstring muscle strains in sprinting were determined for each participant.Results:The muscle strain of each of the 3 biarticulated hamstring muscles reached a peak during the late swing phase.Peak hamstring muscle strains were negatively correlated to hamstring flexibility(0.1179 ≤ R2≤ 0.4519,p = 0.001) but not to hip and knee joint positions at the time of peak hamstring muscle strains.Peak hamstring muscle strains were not different for different genders.Peak muscle strains of biceps long head(0.071 ± 0.059) and semitendinosus(0.070 ± 0.055) were significantly greater than that of semimembranosus(0.064 ± 0.054).Conclusion:A potential for hamstring injury exists during the late swing phase of sprinting.Peak hamstring muscle strains in sprinting are negatively correlated to hamstring flexibility across individuals.The magnitude of peak muscle strains is different among hamstring muscles in sprinting,which may explain the different injury rate among hamstring muscles.Xianglin Wan Feng Qu William E.Garrett Hui Liu Bing Yu 2017Journal of Sport and Health Science2017,6,3:5

7Construction of 2D/2D Z-scheme MnO_(2-x)/g-C_(3)N_(4) photocatalyst for efficient nitrogen fixation to ammonia显示文摘Reducing nitrogen to ammonia with solar energy has become a wide concern when it comes to photocatalysis research.It is considered to be one of the more promising alternate options for the conventional Haber-Bosch cycle.Herein,2D g-C_(3)N_(4)composites with modifying ultrathin sheet MnO_(2-x)were prepared and used as nitrogen fixation photocatalyst.With the assistance of the nature of MnO_(2-x),the generation rate of NH_(3)reached 225 mmol g^(-1)h^(-1),which is more than twice over the rate of pristine 2D g-C_(3)N_(4)(107 mmol g^(-1)h^(-1)).The presence of ultrathin sheet MnO_(2-x)shortens the gap of the carriers to the surface of photocatalyst.Thus the speed of electron transfer gets increased.Besides,the construction of Z-scheme heterojunction boosts the separation and migration of photogenerated carriers.As a result,the nitrogen reduction reaction(NRR)performance gets enhanced.The work may provide an example of promoting the NRR performance of non-metallic compound.Limin Yu Zhao Mo Xianglin Zhu Jiujun Deng Fan Xu Yanhua Song Yuanbin She Huaming Li Hui Xu 2021Green Energy & Environment2021,6,4:3

12Polymerization Kinetics and Stabilization Mechanism of the Monodisperse PMMA Microspheres显示文摘The effects of the concentration of monomer, crosslinking agent, initiator, stabilizer, and the polarity of medium on the polymerization kinetics were investigated. The results show that the rate of polymerization (Rp) and conversion increased with the increase of monomer concentration from 8% to 15% (total mass); the water content in dispersion medium and the initiator 2, 2′ -azobis (isobutyronitrile) (AIBN) concentration increased as well. Rp and conversion decreases with the increase of PVP when it is low, while it increases when it is high. Moreover, PVP plays an important role in microsphere stabilization. The stabilization mechanism was investigated primarily, which involves both adsorbing mechanism and graft mechanism. Within a certain range of crosslinking degree, Rp and conversion increased with the increase of the crosslinker concentration. 15Study on the relationship between P-glycoprotein(P-gp) and C-erbB-2 expression in gastric carcinoma显示文摘Objective: To understand the relationship between C-erbB-2 and multidrug resistance (MDR) as well as its clini- cal significance. Methods: P-gp level was detected by flow cytometry and simultaneously to examine the C-erbB-2 expression level by immunohistochemistry assay in the operating samples. Their relationship was analyzed from 59 cases with gastric carcinoma. Results: The P-gp positive expression was 38/59 (64.4%) cases with gastric carcinoma. The C-erbB-2 positive expression was 21/59 (35.6%) cases with gastric carcinoma. From the analysis of the P-gp and C-erbB-2 relationship, which was involving, range in the gastric carcinoma, that involving two or three sites were more than the site one, in the cases with C-erbB-2 negative. Compared this two groups, there was a significant difference (P = 0.026). When the C-erbB-2 was positive, the P-gp expression had a significant difference (P = 0.04) in comparing the III–IV stage (lymph node metastasis) with I–II stage (without lymph node metastasis). The tumor’s size, differentiation degree, ages and sex were not related to the C-erbB- 2 and P-gp expression. Conclusion: High level of P-gp expression was related to the C-erbB-2 positive expression in clinical III–IV stage patient with gastric carcinoma (lymph node metastasis). It suggested that the double positive patient might be a poor prognosis. 16Gene Expression Profile Differences in Gastric Cancer and Normal Gastric Mucosa by Oligonucleotide Microarrays显示文摘OBJECTIVE To study the difference of gene expression in gastric cancer (T) and normal tissue of gastric mucosa (C), and to screen for associated novel genes in gastric cancers by oligonucleotide microarrays. METHODS U133A (Affymetrix, Santa Clara, CA) gene chip was used to detect the gene expression profile difference in T and C. Bioinformatics was used to analyze the detected results. RESULTS When gastric cancers were compared with normal gastric mucosa, a total of 270 genes were found with a difference of more than 9 times in expression levels. Of the 270 genes, 157 were up-regulated (Signal Log Ratio [SLR] ≥3), and 113 were down-regulated (SLR ≤-3). Using a classification of function, the highest number of gene expression differences related to enzymes and their regulatory genes (67, 24.8%), followed by signal-transduction genes (43,15.9%). The third were nucleic acid binding genes (17, 6.3%), fourth were transporter genes (15, 5.5%) and fifth were protein binding genes (12, 4.4%). In addition there were 50 genes of unknown function, accounting for 18.5%. The five above mentioned groups made up 56.9% of the total gene number. 17Screening of the carcinogenesis associated gene in gastric mucosa by gene chip显示文摘Objective: To study the difference of gene expression and screen the carcinogenesis associated gene in gastric mucosa by oligonucleotide microarray. Methods: Using the U133A gene chip to detect the gene expression profile difference between pericancerous mucosa (mucosa inside nearly 2 cm by cancer) and normal section of gastric mucosa. Bioinformatics was used to analyze the detected result on their localization and function in chromosome. Results: (1) A total of 150 genes with a difference of more than 3 times in expression levels by comparing the pericancerous mucosa with normal gastric mucosa, of 130 genes were up-regulated (SLR>1.5), and 20 were down- regulated (SLR< –1.5). From the gene expression difference was to do the function classification, among those 22 enzyme and 6 enzyme regular genes were most one (18.7%). The next were 17 nucleic acid binding associated genes (11.3%). The third were 15 signal transduction associated genes (10%). Fourth, were 13 protein binding associated genes (8.7%). Besides the 40 genes were unknown their function, above mentioned 4 groups were 48.7% of the gene total number; (2) The pericancerous mucosa (P) and gastric cancer (T) were simultaneously compared with normal gastric mucosa, which had 71 genes with the same expression difference, of 61 genes were up-regulated (pericancerous SLR>1.5), and other 10 genes were down-regulated (pericancerous SLR< –1.5). From their localization on the chromosome, there was simultaneously 71 genes appearance both in the pericancerous mucosa and in gastric cancer. The most one was 11 abnormal genes on the No. 19 chromosome. The next was No. 1, 2, 16 and 17 chromosomes which had 6 genes, respectively. It was not finding an abnormal gene on the No. 5, 14, 22 and Y chromosome. Conclusion: It suggested those genes may be related to the promotion in early gastric carcinogenesis and their progress. Four main groups (enzyme and enzyme regular, nucleic acid binding, signal transduction, protein binding) that associated gene’s abnormality be played an importance role in studying the carcinogenesis of gastric cancer. 19Recurrent ascites due to spontaneous intraperitoneal bladder rupture after pelvic radiation therapy for cervical cancer显示文摘Radiation cystitis is one of the major complications following radiotherapy for cervical cancer. However, spontaneous intraperitoneal bladder rupture as a result of radiation cystitis following radiotherapy for cervical cancer is extremely rare. Case presentation: We report a 52-year-old patient who received radiation therapy for cervical cancer 15 years prior to presentation. Eight years prior to presentation, she developed recurrent abdominal distension, oliguria, and ascites. Following ascites drainage and supportive treatment, all symptoms were relieved. However, all symptoms subsequently recurred every few months. The patient underwent exploratory laparotomy twice. The first exploratory laparotomy in July 2015 found no specific abnormalities. The second exploratory laparotomy in November 2016 found an intraperitoneal bladder rupture, and the patient underwent surgical repair. The ascites subsequently resolved. Conclusion: The occurrence of spontaneous intraperitoneal bladder rupture after radiation therapy for cervical cancer is rare.
