1Rhizobacterium Bacillus amyloliquefaciens Strain SQRT3-Mediated Induced Systemic Resistance Controls Bacterial Wilt of Tomato显示文摘Tomato bacterial wilt caused by Ralstonia solanacearum seriously threats tomato growth in tropical and temperate regions around the world.This study reported an antagonistic bacterial strain, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain SQRT3, isolated from the rhizosphere soil of tomato plants, which strongly inhibited in vitro growth of pathogenic R.solanacearum.The suppression of tomato bacterial wilt by strain SQRT3 was demonstrated under greenhouse conditions.Additionally, induced systemic resistance(ISR) in tomato as one of the potential disease suppression mechanisms was investigated in the plants inoculated with the isolated bacterial strain SQRT3.The results showed that strain SQRT3 applied with R.solanacearum by drenching significantly reduced tomato bacterial wilt by 68.1% biocontrol efficiency(BE) and suppressed the R.solanacearum populations in the rhizosphere soil compared to the control only drenched with R.solanacearum.The BE of the isolated bacterial strain SQRT3 against tomato wilt increased to 84.1%by root-dipping.Tomato plants treated with both strain SQRT3 and R.solanacearum showed increases in activities of peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase compared with other treatments.The application of strain SQRT3 reduced membrane lipid peroxidation in tomato leaves.The expressions of marker genes for jasmonic acid-and salicylic acid-dependent signaling pathways were faster and stronger in tomato plants treated with both strain SQRT3 and R.solanacearum than in plants treated with either R.solanacearum or strain SQRT3 alone.Collectively, the findings indicated that strain SQRT3 can effectively control tomato wilt.LI Chunyu HU Weicong PAN Bin LIU Yan YUAN Saifei DING Yuanyuan LI Rong ZHENG Xinyan SHEN Biao SHEN Qirong 2017Pedosphere2017,27,6:18

5Boosting the kinetics of PF_(6)^(-) into graphitic layers for the optimal cathode of dual-ion batteries:The rehearsal of pre-intercalating Li^(+)显示文摘Large anions exhibit slow diffusion kinetics in graphite cathode of dual-ion batteries(DIBs);particularly at high current density,it suffers severely from the largely-reduced interlayer utilization of graphite cathode,which as a bottleneck limits the fast charge application of DIBs.To maximize interlayer utilization and achieve faster anion diffusion kinetics,a fast and uncrowded anion transport channel must be established.Herein,Li^(+)was pre-intercalated into the graphite paper(GP)cathode to increase the interlayer spacing,and then hosted for the PF_(6)^(-)anion storage.Combined with theoretical calculation,it shows that the local interlayer spacing enlargement and the residual Li^(+)reduce the anion intercalation energy and diffusion barrier,leading to better rate stability.The obtained GP with Li^(+)pre-intercalation(GP-Li)electrode exhibits a discharge capacity of 23.1 m Ah g^(-1) at a high current of 1300 m A g^(-1).This work provides a facile method to efficiently improve the interlayer utilization of graphite cathode at large currents.He Yang Tingting Qin Xinyan Zhou Yu Feng Zizhun Wang Xin Ge Nailin Yue Dabing Li Wei Zhang Weitao Zheng 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,8:2

10Flexural Performance of Reinforced Concrete Beams Strengthened with Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Polymer(CFRP)under Hygrothermal Environment Considering the Influence of CFRP-Concrete Interface显示文摘As an important component,the bond behavior of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer(CFRP)-concrete interface for a reinforced concrete(RC)beam is very significant.In this study,a theoretical model was established to analyze the flexural behavior of CFRP-strengthened RC beams,and the CFRP-concrete interfacial bond-slip relationship under hygrothermal environment was unified into one model.Two failure criteria corresponding to two types of failure modes,i.e.,concrete crushing and intermediate crack(IC)-induced debonding,were developed.Through the theoretical model,the flexural behavior of deflection,interfacial shear stress distribution and ultimate load of a CFRP-strengthened RC beam under hygrothermal environment were obtained and predicted.Moreover,the theoretical model was verified by test results.The results showed that the hygrothermal environment had a significant impact on the CFRP-concrete interface behavior.Compared with the control beam without hygrothermal environment pretreatment,the deflection and ultimate load of the strengthened RC beam decreased by 51.9%and 20%,respectively.Xinyan Guo Peiyan Huang Yilin Wang Shenyunhao Shu Xiaohong Zheng 2021Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2021,34,3:1

13Individually-atomic governing d-π*orbital interactions via Cupromoted optimization of Fe-d band centers for high-efficiency zinc-air battery显示文摘It is challenging for precise governing of electronic configuration of the individually-atomic catalysts toward optimal electrocatalysis,as d-band configuration of a metal center determines the adsorption behavior of reactive species to the center in oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).The addition of Cu atom modifies the d-band center position of Fe central atom,thus strengthening the d-π*orbital interactions.Herein,FeCu-NC catalyst in the nitrogen-doped carbon(NC)support containing individual dual-metal CuN4/FeN4 sites was prepared by the surface confinement strategy of zeolitic imidazolate framework(ZIF),treated as a model catalyst.Experimentally and theoretically co-verified dual-metal CuN4/FeN4 sites highly dispersed in the NC support,enable transferring more electrons from FeN4 sites to*OH intermediates,thereby accelerating the desorption process of*OH species.Superior to those commercial Pt/C,Our FeCu-NC catalyst exhibited extraordinary ORR activity(with a E1/2 as high as 0.87 V)and cycling stability in 0.1 M KOH electrolyte,and thereof demonstrated excellent discharge performance in zinc-air batteries.Our construction of dual-atom catalysts(DACs)provides a strategy for atom-by-atom designing high-efficiency catalysts via orbital regulation.Xinyan Zhou Kexin Song Yu Feng Chao Jiang Zhongjun Chen Zizhun Wang Nailin Yue Xin Ge Wei Zhang Weitao Zheng 2023Nano Research2023,16,4:0

15Toxic effects of long-term dual or single exposure to oxytetracycline and arsenic on Xenopus tropicalis living in duck wastewater显示文摘Direct discharge of aquaculture wastewater may have toxic effects,due to the presence of heavy metals,antibiotics,and even resistant pathogens,but little attention has been given.Here,tanks simulating a wild ecosystem were built to study the effects of long-term exposure to duckwastewater containing oxytetracycline(OTC)and/or arsenic(As)on the growth,physiological function,and gut microbiota evolution of Xenopus tropicalis.The results showed that duck wastewater had no apparent impact on X.tropicalis,but the impact increased significantly(P<0.05)with exposure to OTC and/or As,especially the impact on body weight and growth rate.Biochemical indicators revealed varying degrees of oxidative stress damage,hepatotoxicity(inflammation,necrosis,and sinusoids),and collagen fibrosis of X.tropicalis in all treated groups after 72 days of exposure,which indirectly inhibited X.tropicalis growth.Moreover,16S rDNA amplicon sequencing results showed that the gut microbiota structure and metabolic function were perturbed after chronic exposure,which might be the leading cause of growth inhibition.Interestingly,the abundance of intestinal resistance genes(RGs)increased with exposure time owing to the combined direct and indirect effects of stress factors in duck wastewater.Moreover,once the RGs were expressed,the resistance persisted for at least 24 days,especially that conferred by tetA.These results provide evidence of the toxic effects of DW containing OTC(0.1–4.0 mg/L)and/or As(0.3–3.5μg/L)on amphibians and indicate that it is vital to limit the usage of heavy metals and antibiotics on farms to control the biotoxicity of wastewater.Jianbin Zhao Xinyan Li Yanbin Xu Yuxin Li Li Zheng Tiangang Luan 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,5:0
16Pd@Ir-LOD multienzyme utilizing endogenous lactate consumption cooperates with photothermal for tumor therapy显示文摘Lactic acid(LA)plays a major role in the occurrence,development,and spread of cancer.Enlightened by its high accumulation in tumor site,a novel lactate oxidase(LOD)conjugated two-dimensional Pd@Ir nanoplatform(Pd@Ir-LOD,PIL)was fabricated to combine cascade reaction with photothermal for tumor therapy.In detail,the overexpressed LA in tumor microenvironment(TME)was a key factor to activate the PIL-based cascade reaction:(1)Plenty of H_(2)O_(2)could be generated from LA by the catalysis of LOD with O_(2);(2)potent·OH was produced from H_(2)O_(2)due to the peroxidase(POD)-like activity of PIL;(3)meantime,PIL’s catalase(CAT)-like activity could decompose part H_(2)O_(2)into O_(2)to achieve the purpose of LA cyclic oxidization.Moreover,the reduced glutathione(GSH)scavenging capability of PIL might protect the produced reactive oxygen species(ROS)from being cleared to further improve the cascade therapeutic effect.More importantly,PIL had excellent photothermal conversion efficiency(37.35%)and manifested a surprising temperature rising effect in tumor.Taken together,the decreasing LA concentration,accumulation of high-toxic ROS,the depletion of GSH together with the higher intra-tumoral temperature potently enhanced in vivo antitumor therapy.Therefore,a promising therapeutic tactic based on PIL integrating endogenous LA consumption,chemodynamic therapy(CDT),and photothermal therapy(PTT)has been put forward.Zichen Ye Yun Li Jingchao Li Xinyan Hu Jinyang Zheng Gongxin Zhang Sijin Xiang Tianbao Zhu Zhide Guo Xiaolan Chen 2024Nano Research2024,17,1:0

18Efficient ORR catalysts for zinc-air battery: Biomass-derived ultra-stable Co nanoparticles wrapped with graphitic layers via optimizing electron transfer显示文摘The poor stability of non-noble metal catalysts in oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) is a main bottleneck that limits their big-scale application in metal-air batteries. Herein, we construct a chainmail catalyst(Co-NC-AD) with outstanding stability, via the competitive complexation and post absorption strategy,consisting of highly graphitic layers wrapped uniform-size Co nanoparticles(Co-NPs). Experiments combined with density functional theory(DFT) calculations jointly confirmed that the electron transfer occurred from the inner Co-NPs to the external graphitic layers. It facilitated the adsorption process of oxygen molecules and the hybridization of the O-2 p and C-1 p orbitals, which accelerated the ORR reaction kinetics. Consequently, our prepared Co-NC-AD shows excellent ORR activity, offered with a more positive initial potential(E_(onset)= 0.95 V) and half-wave potential(E_(1/2)= 0.86 V). The remarkable stability and resistance of methanol poisoning are merited from the protection effect of stable graphitic layers. In addition, the high electrochemical performance of Co-NC-AD-based zinc-air battery demonstrates their potential for practical applications. 20The choice of a neoadjuvant chemotherapy cycle for breast cancer has significance in clinical practice: results from a population-based, real world study显示文摘Objective:Neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC)is currently used in both early stage and locally advanced breast cancers.The survival benefits of standard vs.non-standard NAC cycles are still unclear.This study aimed to investigate the relationship between NAC cycles and survival based on real world data.Methods:We identified patients diagnosed with invasive primary breast cancers who underwent NAC followed by surgery.Patients who received at least 4 NAC cycles were defined as having received standard cycles,while patients who received less than 4 NAC cycles were defined as having received non-standard cycles.Kaplan-Meier curves and Cox proportional hazard models were used to estimate the disease-free survival(DFS)and overall survival(OS).Results:Of the 1,024 included patients,700 patients received standard NAC cycles and 324 patients received non-standard NAC cycles.The DFS estimates were 87.1%and 81.0%(P=0.007)and the OS estimates were 90.0%and 82.6%(P=0.001)in the standard and non-standard groups,respectively.Using multivariate analyses,patients treated with standard NAC cycles showed significant survival benefits in both DFS[hazard ratio(HR):0.62,95%confidence interval(CI):0.44–0.88]and OS(HR:0.54,95%CI:0.37–0.79).Using stratified analyses,standard NAC cycles were associated with improved DFS(HR:0.59,95%CI:0.36–0.96)and OS(HR:0.49,95%CI:0.28–0.86)in the HER2 positive group.Similar DFS(HR:0.50,95%CI:0.25–0.98)and OS(HR:0.45,95%CI:0.22–0.91)benefits were shown for the triple negative group.Conclusions:Standard NAC cycles were associated with a significant survival benefit,especially in patients with HER2 positive or triple negative breast cancer.Litong Yao Zhiyuan Pang Mozhi Wang Mengshen Wang Xiangyu Sun Mingke Cui Yanfu Zheng Xinyan Li Haoran Dong Qiang Zhang Yingying Xu 2022Cancer Biology & Medicine2022,19,5:0
