| 3 | Extremely large-amplitude oscillation of soft pipes conveying fluid under gravity显示文摘In this work,the nonlinear behaviors of soft cantilevered pipes containing internal fluid flow are studied based on a geometrically exact model,with particular focus on the mechanism of large-amplitude oscillations of the pipe under gravity.Four key parameters,including the flow velocity,the mass ratio,the gravity parameter,and the inclination angle between the pipe length and the gravity direction,are considered to affect the static and dynamic behaviors of the soft pipe.The stability analyses show that,provided that the inclination angle is not equal to π,the soft pipe is stable at a low flow velocity and becomes unstable via flutter once the flow velocity is beyond a critical value.As the inclination angle is equal to π,the pipe experiences,in turn,buckling instability,regaining stability,and flutter instability with the increase in the flow velocity.Interestingly,the stability of the pipe can be either enhanced or weakened by varying the gravity parameter,mainly dependent on the value of the inclination angle.In the nonlinear dynamic analysis,it is demonstrated that the post-flutter amplitude of the soft pipe can be extremely large in the form of limit-cycle oscillations.Besides,the oscillating shapes for various inclination angles are provided to display interesting dynamical behaviors of the inclined soft pipe conveying fluid. | Wei CHEN Ziyang HU Huliang DAI Lin WANG | 2020 | Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2020,41,9: | 2 |

| 8 | Continuous activation of polymorphonuclear myeloid-derived suppressor cells during pregnancy is critical for fetal development显示文摘The maternal immune system is vital in maintaining immunotolerance to the semiallogeneic fetus for a successful pregnancy.Although studies have shown that myeloid-derived suppressor cells(MDSCs)play an important role in maintaining feto-maternal tolerance,little is known about the role of MDSCs in pregnancies with intrauterine growth retardation(IUGR).Here,we reported that the activation of polymorphonuclear myeloid-derived suppressor cells(PMN-MDSCs)during pregnancy was closely associated with fetal growth.In humans,class E scavenger receptor 1(SR-E1),a distinct marker for human PMN-MDSCs,was used to investigate PMN-MDSC function during pregnancy.Continuous activation of SR-E1+PMN-MDSCs was observed in all stages of pregnancy,accompanied by high cellular levels of ROS and arginase-1 activity,mediated through STAT6 signaling.However,SR-E1+PMN-MDSCs in pregnancies with IUGR showed significantly lower suppressive activity,lower arginase-1 activity and ROS levels,and decreased STAT6 phosphorylation level,which were accompanied by an increase in inflammatory factors,compared with those in normal pregnancies.Moreover,the population of SR-E1+PMN-MDSCs was negatively correlated with the adverse outcomes of newborns from pregnancies with IUGR.In mice,decreases in cell population,suppressive activity,target expression levels,and STAT6 phosphorylation levels were also observed in the pregnancies with IUGR compared with the normal pregnancies,which were rescued by the adoptive transfer of PMN-MDSCs from pregnant mice.Interestingly,the growth-promoting factors(GPFs)secreted by placental PMN-MDSCs in both humans and mice play a vital role in fetal development.These findings collectively support that PMN-MDSCs have another new role in pregnancy,which can improve adverse neonatal outcomes. | Mengyu Shi Ziyang Chen Meiqi Chen Jingping Liu Jing Li Zhe Xing Xiaogang Zhang Shuaijun Lv Xinyao Li Shaowen Zuo Shi Feng Ying Lin Gang Xiao Liping Wang Yumei He | 2021 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,7: | 1 |
| 9 | Comparison of antimony and arsenic behaviour at the river-lake junction in the middle of the Yangtze River Basin显示文摘As typical metalloid toxic elements widely distributed in environmental media,the geochemical behaviour of antimony(Sb)and arsenic(As)affects environmental safety.We selected the surface waters and sediments at the river-lake junction of Dongting Lake as the research objects,analysed the concentration and chemical partitioning of Sb and As,assessed its contamination and ecological risk levels,and discussed its sources and potential influencing factors.The concentrations of dissolved Sb and As in surface waters were low(<5.46μg/L),and the concentrations of Sb and As in surface sediments were 2.49-22.65mg/kg and 11.10-136.34 mg/kg,respectively.Antimony and As in sediments were mainly enriched in the fraction of residues,but the proportion of As in bioavailability was significantly higher than that of Sb.Although the contamination level of Sb was higher than that of As,the risk assessment code(RAC)showed that the ecological risk level of As was higher than that of Sb.Rainwater erosion and mining activities(in the midstream of Zijiang River)were the main contaminated sources of Sb,while As was affect mainly by rainwater erosion.The contamination and ecological risk of Sb in the inlet of the Zijiang River should receive considerable attention,while those of As in the inlet of the Xiangjiang River should also be seriously considered.This study highlights the need for multi-index-based assessments of contamination and ecological risk and the importance of further studies on the environmental behaviour of metalloids in specific hydrological conditions,such as river-lake junctions. | Huiji Liu Wei Zeng Ziyang Lai Mengchang He Chunye Lin Wei Ouyang Xitao Liu | 2024 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,2: | 0 |

| 11 | Optical-field-induced Freeder-icksz transition of a nematic liquid crystal doped with dia-zophenyl显示文摘4[4’-(phenylazo)phenylazo]phenol was synthesized and characterized. Optical-induced Freedericksz transition of 5CB liquid crystal doped with trace diazophenyl was studied. It was observed that the doped 5CB dramatically decreased the optical field threshold, and the Freedericksz transition threshold occurred at optical intensity level of 0.3 mW/mm2 for the 12.5 μm thickness planar alignment doped 5CB, which is three orders of magnitude lower than that for the pure 5CB. | 13 | Research on aiming methods for small sample size shooting tests of two-dimensional trajectory correction fuse显示文摘The longitudinal dispersion of the projectile in shooting tests of two-dimensional trajectory corrections fused with fixed canards is extremely large that it sometimes exceeds the correction ability of the correction fuse actuator.The impact point easily deviates from the target,and thus the correction result cannot be readily evaluated.However,the cost of shooting tests is considerably high to conduct many tests for data collection.To address this issue,this study proposes an aiming method for shooting tests based on small sample size.The proposed method uses the Bootstrap method to expand the test data;repeatedly iterates and corrects the position of the simulated theoretical impact points through an improved compatibility test method;and dynamically adjusts the weight of the prior distribution of simulation results based on Kullback-Leibler divergence,which to some extent avoids the real data being'submerged'by the simulation data and achieves the fusion Bayesian estimation of the dispersion center.The experimental results show that when the simulation accuracy is sufficiently high,the proposed method yields a smaller mean-square deviation in estimating the dispersion center and higher shooting accuracy than those of the three comparison methods,which is more conducive to reflecting the effect of the control algorithm and facilitating test personnel to iterate their proposed structures and algorithms.;in addition,this study provides a knowledge base for further comprehensive studies in the future. | Chen Liang Qiang Shen Zilong Deng Hongyun Li Wenyang Pu Lingyun Tian Ziyang Lin | 2024 | Defence Technology(防务技术)2024,33,3: | 0 |
