| 1 | Zircon U-Pb age of granitic gneiss on Duku highway in western Tianshan of China and its geological implications显示文摘Granitle gneiss on Duku highway in western Tianshan has been dated by the U-Pb zircon method. When plotted on the concordia diagram, the results give linear data array and the upper intercept age of (882±3)Ma, and the age was considered as the crystallization age of the protolith. Granitic gneiss has high ASI value (1.09), high LILE and LREE contents, significantly negative Eu depletion, distinctly negative Ba, Sr, P, Ti and Nb anomalies and indicate continental crust parentage, which is consistent with high initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios value (0.7170) and very negative εNd(t)=-14.1. | 2 | Growth and characterization of 0.8-μm gate length AlGaN/GaN HEMTs on sapphire substrates显示文摘AlGaN/GaN high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) structures were grown on 2 inch sapphire substrates by MOCVD, and 0.8-μm gate length devices were fabricated and measured. It is shown by resistance mapping that the HEMT structures have an average sheet resistance of approximately 380 ?/sq with a uniformity of more than 96%. The 1-mm gate width devices using the materials yielded a pulsed drain current of 784 mA/mm at Vgs=0.5 V and Vds=7 V with an extrinsic transconductance of 200 mS/mm. A 20-GHz unity current gain cutoff frequency (?T ) and a 28-GHz maximum oscillation frequency (?max) were obtained. | 3 | Effect of Dahuang Zhechong pills on long non-coding RNA growth arrest specific 5 in rat models of hepatic fibrosis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the involvement of growth arrest specific 5(GAS5), a long non-coding RNA, in the anti-hepatic fibrosis process induced by Dahuang Zhechong pill(DHZCP) in rats.METHODS: Thirty adult rats were divided into three groups, including a control group, a CCl4-induced fibrosis group and a DHZCP-treated fibrosis group. Hematoxylin-eosin and Masson staining were used for histopathological study. Serum enzymes, cytokines and cell proliferation were assayed using commercially available kits. A GAS5 lenti-virus vector was constructed to further investigate the role of GAS5 in the anti-hepatic fibrosis effect of DHZCP in rats.RESULTS: Our results revealed that the proliferation of hepatic stellate cells cultured in serum derived from rats treated with DHZCP was significantly decreased, compared with cells treated with serum from the untreated rats. DHZCP alleviated the CCl4-induced hepatic fibrosis. Additionally, DHZCP can restore the expression of GAS5,which was significantly decreased in the CCl4-induced group, and markedly suppress the expression of p-p38 and p-Erk induced by CCl4, but not p-Jnk. Cell proliferation was significantly arrested when cells overexpressed GAS5. | 6 | A novel intronic circular RNA,circGNG7,inhibits head and neck squamous cell carcinoma progression by blocking the phosphorylation of heat shock protein 27 at Ser78 and Ser82显示文摘Background:There is increasing evidence that circular RNAs(circRNAs)play a significant role in pathological processes including tumorigenesis.In contrast to exonic circRNAs,which are the most frequently reported circRNAs in cancer so far,the studies of intronic circRNAs have been greatly lagged behind.Here,we aimed to investigate the regulatory role of intronic circRNAs in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC).Methods:We conducted whole-transcriptome sequencing with four pairs of primary tumor tissues and adjacent normal tissues from HNSCC patients.Then,we characterized circGNG7 expression in HNSCC tissues and cell lines and explored its association with the prognosis of HNSCC patients.We also identified interactions between circGNG7 and functional proteins,which alter downstream signaling that regulate HNSCC progression.Results:In this study,we identified a new intronic circRNA,circGNG7,and validated its functional roles in HNSCC progression.CircGNG7 was predominately localized to the cytoplasm,and its expression was downregulated in both HNSCC tissues andCAL27,CAL33,SCC4,SCC9,HN6,and HN30 cells.Low expression of circGNG7 was significantly correlated with poor prognosis in HNSCC patients.Consistent with this finding,overexpression of circGNG7 strongly inhibited tumor cell proliferation,colony formation,in vitro migration,and in vivo tumor growth.Mechanistically,the expression of circGNG7 in HNSCC cells was regulated by the transcription factor SMAD family member 4(SMAD4).Importantly,we discovered that circGNG7 could bind to serine residues 78 and 82 of the functional heat shock protein 27(HSP27),occupying its phosphorylation sites and hindering its phosphorylation,which reduced HSP27-JNK/P38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)oncogenic signaling.Downregulation of circGNG7 expression in HNSCC increased HSP27-JNK/P38 MAPK signaling and promoted tumor progression.Conclusions:Our results revealed that a new intronic circRNA,circGNG7,functions as a strong tumor suppressor and that circGNG7/HSP27-JNK/P38 MAPK signaling is a novel mechanism by which HNSCC progression can be controlled. | Houyu Ju Zhenrong Hu Dongliang Wei Jinyun Huang Xinyi Zhang Mengyu Rui Zhi Li Xiaomeng Zhang Jingzhou Hu Wei Guo Guoxin Ren | 2021 | Cancer Communications2021,41,11: | 4 |

| 8 | Fine mapping of the awn gene on chromosome 4 in rice by association and linkage analyses显示文摘Awnness is a key trait in rice domestication, yet no studies have been conducted on fine mapping or association mapping of the rice awn gene. In this study, we investigated the awnness and genotype of a core collection of 303 cultivated rice varieties and a BC5F2 segregating population of 200 individuals. Combining association and linkage analyses, we mapped the awnness related genes to chromosome 4. Primary association analysis using 24 SSR markers revealed five loci significantly associated with awnness on chromosome 4. The associated markers cover previously identified regions. Fine association mapping was conducted using another 29 markers within a 4-Mb region, covering the associated marker in34, which is close to the awn gene Awn4.1. Seven associated markers were revealed, distributed over an 870-kb region. Combining the fine association mapping and linkage analysis of awnness in the 200 BC5F2 segregating population, we finally identified a 330-kb region as the candidate region for Awn4.1. | 11 | Low temperature catalytic oxidation of NO over different-shaped CeO2显示文摘To investigate the effect of CeO_2 nanomaterial morphology on its performance for NO catalytic oxidation.Three kinds of CeO_2 nanomaterials including CeO_2 nanorods,nanospheres and nanoparticles were prepared by hydrothermal method and used for catalytic oxidation of NO at low temperature. The experimental results show that CeO_2 nanorods are of the best catalytic performance. Characterization techniques including TEM, XRD, H_2-TPR, NO-TPD and XPS were used to determine the relationship between the morphology of CeO_2 nanomaterial and its catalytic performance. TEM images show that CeO_2 nanorods predominantly exposed(110) and(10 0) planes, while CeO_2 nanospheres and CeO_2 nanoparticles predominantly exposed(111) plane. | 12 | Impact of diabetes on prognosis of gastric cancer patients performed with gastrectomy显示文摘Objective: This study aimed to determine the impact of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2 DM) on clinical outcomes of gastric cancer(GC) patients and explore whether metformin use and good glycemic control could reverse it.Methods: Clinicopathologic data of consecutive GC patients who underwent gastrectomy at Nanfang Hospital between October 2004 and December 2015 were included. Propensity score matching(PSM) was performed to balance the important factors of the disease status between non-T2 DM and T2 DM group. The last follow-up time was January 2019.Results: A total of 1,692 eligible patients(1,621 non-T2 DM vs. 71 T2 DM) were included. After PSM, nonT2 DM group(n=139) and T2 DM group(n=71) were more balanced in baseline variables. The 5-year cancerspecific survival(CSS) rate in T2 DM group(47.0%) was inferior to that in non-T2 DM group(58.0%), but did not reach statistical significance [hazard ratio(HR)=1.319, 95% confidence interval(95% CI): 0.868-2.005, P=0.192].While the 5-year progress-free survival(PFS) rate of T2 DM group(40.6%) is significantly worse than that in nonT2 DM group(56.3%)(HR=1.516, 95% CI: 1.004-2.290, P=0.045). Univariate and multivariate analyses showed that T2 DM was an independent risk factor for PFS but not for CSS. In T2 DM group, metformin use subgroup was associated with superior 5-year CSS and PFS in compared with non-metformin use subgroup, although the difference was not statistically significant(5-year CSS: 48.0% vs. 45.4%, HR=0.680, 95% CI: 0.352-1.313,P=0.246;5-year PFS: 43.5% vs. 35.7%, HR=0.763, 95% CI: 0.400-1.454, P=0.406). The 5-year CSS rate was47.5% in good glycemic control subgroup and 44.1% in poor glycemic control subgroup(HR=0.826, 95% CI:0.398-1.713, P=0.605). And both two subgroups yielded a similar 5-year PFS rate(42.2% vs. 36.3%, HR=0.908,95% CI: 0.441-1.871, P=0.792).Conclusions: DM promoted disease progress of GC after gastrectomy but had not yet led to the significant discrepancy of CSS. Zirconium complex 3 was characterized by elemental and NMR analyses. DFT calculations were also performed on complex 3 to analyze the stereochemistry. The results from DFT calculations indicate that structure S1, in which no sulfur atom bonds to the zirconium atom, exists at the lowest energy level. In the presence of methylaluminoxane(MAO), complex 3 exhibited good catalytic activities for ethylene polymerization and long life-time up to 10 h.
