2Effects of inorganic arsenic on growth and microcystin production of a Microcystis strain isolated from an algal bloom in Dianchi Lake,China显示文摘Our previous data have shown that inorganic arsenic concentrations were high in Dianchi Lake,China,where Microcystis blooms often occur.To explore the relationship between arsenic and the growth of Microcystis,the effects of arsenite[As(III)]and arsenate[As(V)]on the growth and toxin production of M.aeruginosa strain FACHB 905 were tested.Results showed that M.aeruginosa FACHB 905 was tolerant to inorganic arsenic and its growth was not inhibited when the concentration of As(III)was below 10-5 mol L-1 or that of As(V)below 10-3 mol L-1.Total microcystin production was stimulated in the presence of 10-7 mol L-1 As(III)and the response of this M.aeruginosa strain to As(III)seemed to be a typical inverted U-shaped hormesis.The content increase of microcystin-LR per cell indicated that the toxicity was enhanced as M.aeruginosa FACHB 905 was exposed to As(V).Considering the relatively high concentration of inorganic arsenic in Dianchi Lake(139μg L-1 in epilimnetic water),the origin of the M.aeruginosa strain,inorganic arsenic favors survival of M.aeruginosa FACHB 905 and may stimulate its microcystin production and cellular toxicity.GONG Yan AO HongYi LIU BiBo WEN Sheng WANG Zhi HU DingJing ZHANG XingZhong SONG LiRong LIU JianTong 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,22:6
3Optimization of broadband omnidirectional antireflection coatings for solar cells显示文摘Broadband and omnidirectional antireflection coating is generally an effective way to improve solar cell efficiency, because the destructive interference between the reflected and incident light can maximize the light transmission into the absorption layer. In this paper, we report the incident quantum efficiency ηin, not incident energy or power, as the evaluation function by the ant colony algorithm optimization method, which is a swarm-based optimization method. Also, SPCTRL2 is proposed to be incorporated for accurate optimization because the solar irradiance on a receiver plane is dependent on position, season, and time. Cities of Quito, Beijing and Moscow are selected for two-and three-layer antireflective coating optimization over λ = [300,1100] nm and θ = [0°, 90°]. 9Vibration-based synchronous sampling and its application in wind-turbine drive-train-condition monitoring显示文摘Utilizing shaft-speed information to analyse vibration signals is an important method for fault diagnosis and condition monitoring of rotating machineries,especially for those running at variable speeds.However,in many cases,shaft-speed information is not always available,for a variety of reasons.Fortunately,in most of the measurements,the shaft-speed information is embedded in the vibration response in many different forms,such as in the format of the fundamental shaft-rotation-frequency response and its harmonics,and the gear-meshing-frequency response and its harmonics,etc.Proper signal processing can be used to extract the shaft instantaneous speed from the measured vibration responses.In existing instantaneous shaft-speed-identification methods,a narrow-bandpass filtering technique is used explicitly or implicitly.In a complex gearbox system,such as that used in a wind turbine,the gear-meshing-response component could be modulated by many other shaft speeds,due to the configuration of the gearbox or due to the existence of component damage.As a result,it is very difficult to isolate a single vibration-response component for instantaneous shaft-speed detection.In this paper,an innovative approach is presented.The instantaneous shaft speed is extracted based on maxima tracking from the vibration-response spectrogram.A numerical integration scheme is employed to obtain the shaft instantaneous phase.Digital-domain synchronous resampling is then applied to the vibration data by using the instantaneous phase information.Due to the nature of noise suppression in the numerical integration,the accuracy of synchronous sampling is greatly improved.This proposed approach demonstrates the feasibility and engineering applicability through a controlled laboratory test case and two field wind-turbine cases.More detailed results and conclusions of this research are presented at the end of this paper.Ting Hu Hongyi Wan Huageng Luo 2021Clean Energy2021,5,1:1

11Improved Turbine Vane Endwall Film Cooling by Using Sand-Dune-Inspired Design显示文摘As continuous of the previous sand-dune-inspired design,the Barchan-Dune-Shaped Injection Compound(BDSIC)’s film cooling performance at the endwall region was further investigated both experimentally and numerically.While the public 777-shaped hole was served as a baseline,the BDSIC’s endwall effectiveness was assessed at various blowing ratios.Experiments were performed in a single-passage transonic wind tunnel using pressure-sensitive paint(PSP)technique.Carbon dioxide was used as coolant with density ratio of DR=1.53.The purge slot’s blowing ratio was fixed at M=0.3,but the coolant holes were adjusted within M=0.5–2.0.The measured experimental results indicate that the film distribution at the endwall is strongly affected by the passage flow structures.The BDSIC holes demonstrate much higher film effectiveness than the 777-shaped holes for all blowing ratios,~30%enhancement for regionally averaged effectiveness at M=1.0 and~26%at M=2.0.As shown by the numerical results,the existence of BDSIC reduced the coolant penetration effect at a higher blowing ratio.Coolant was deflected and its momentum increased in the streamwise direction,therefore providing more robust film coverage over the endwall region.The anti-counter-rotating vortex pair induced by the BDSIC further stabilized the coolant film and increased the coolant spreading downstream.ZHOU Wenwu SHAO Hongyi QENAWY Mohamed PENG Di HU Hui LIU Yingzheng 2022Journal of Thermal Science2022,31,3:1

13Heterostructured bimetallic phosphide nanowire arrays with latticetorsion interfaces for efficient overall water splitting显示文摘Designing cost-effective and high-efficiency electrocatalysts is critical to the water splitting performance during hydrogen generation.Herein,we have developed Fe_(2)P-Co_(2)P heterostructure nanowire arrays with excellent lattice torsions and grain boundaries for highly efficient water splitting.According to the microstructural investigations and theoretical calculations,the lattice torsion interface not only contributes to the exposure of more active sites but also effectively tunes the adsorption energy of hydrogen/oxygen intermediates via the accumulation of charge redistribution.As a result,the Fe_(2)P-Co_(2)P heterostructure nanowire array exhibits exceptional bifunctional catalytic activity with overpotentials of 65 and 198 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2) for hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions,respectively.Moreover,the Fe_(2)P-Co_(2)P/NF-assembled electrolyzer can deliver 10 mA cm^(-2) at an ultralow voltage of1.51 V while resulting in a high solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency of 19.8%in the solar-driven water electrolysis cell.Hua Zhang Hongyi Li Yintang Zhou Fang Tan Ruijie Dai Xijun Liu Guangzhi Hu Laiming Jiang Anran Chen Renbing Wu 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,2:0
14低氧时miR-210对鼻咽癌细胞株CNE-1的细胞周期蛋白D1的调控机理(英文)显示文摘Objective: The aim of our study was to determine the underlying mechanism of miR-210 on regulation of the cell cycle in nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell line CNE-1, particularly through regulation of cyclin D1, under hypoxic conditions. Methods: The CNE-1 cell line was induced with hypoxia, and the expression levels of endogenic miR-210 and cyclin D1 were detected by real-time PCR and Western blotting. Next, the luciferase assay was used to confirm that cyclin D1 is a target gene for miR-210. Cell cycle and cell proliferation were detected in CNE-1 cells that were cultured under hypoxic conditions with either overexpression or knockout of miR-210 using flow cytometry and MTT assay, respectively. Results: Hypoxia induced the expression of miR-210, resulting in reduced mRNA and protein levels of cyclin D1 and repression of cyclin D1 in CNE-1 cells. Further analysis indicated that miR-210 directly binded to the 3'UTR of the cyclin D1 gene, thus regulated the expression of cyclin D1. The flow cytometry assay showed that, under hypoxic conditions, miR-210 blocked CNE-1 cells in the G1 phase, and miR-210 also inhibited the proliferation of CNE-1 cells. 15Searching for an Optimized Single-objective Function Matching Multiple Objectives with Automatic Calibration of Hydrological Models显示文摘In the calibration of hydrological models, evaluation criteria are explicitly and quantitatively defined as single-or multi-objective functions when utilizing automatic calibration approaches.In most previous studies, there is a general opinion that no single-objective function can represent all important characteristics of even one specific hydrological variable(e.g., streamflow).Thus hydrologists must turn to multi-objective calibration.In this study, we demonstrated that an optimized single-objective function can compromise multi-response modes(i.e., multi-objective functions) of the hydrograph, which is defined as summation of a power function of the absolute error between observed and simulated streamflow with the exponent of power function optimized for specific watersheds.The new objective function was applied to 196 model parameter estimation experiment(MOPEX) watersheds across the eastern United States using the semi-distributed Xinanjiang hydrological model.The optimized exponent value for each watershed was obtained by targeting four popular objective functions focusing on peak flows, low flows, water balance, and flashiness, respectively.Results showed that the optimized single-objective function can achieve a better hydrograph simulation compared to the traditional single-objective function Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency coefficient for most watersheds, and balance high flow part and low flow part of the hydrograph without substantial differences compared to multi-objective calibration.The proposed optimal single-objective function can be practically adopted in the hydrological modeling if the optimal exponent value could be determined a priori according to hydrological/climatic/landscape characteristics in a specific watershed.TIAN Fuqiang HU Hongchang SUN Yu LI Hongyi LU Hui 2019Chinese Geographical Science2019,29,6:0
16Superenhancers activate the autophagy-related genes Beclin1 and LC3B to drive metastasis and drug resistance in osteosarcoma显示文摘Metastasis and drug resistance are the leading causes of poor prognosis in patients with osteosarcoma.Identifying the relevant factors that drive metastasis and drug resistance is the key to improving the therapeutic outcome of osteosarcoma.Here,we reported that autophagy was highly activated in metastatic osteosarcoma.We found increased autophagolysosomes in metastatic osteosarcoma cell lines by using electron microscopy,Western blot,and immunofluorescence experiments.We further examined the expression of the autophagy-related genes Beclin1 and LC3B in 82 patients through immunohistochemistry and found that Beclin1 and LC3B were highly related to unfavorable prognosis of osteosarcoma.Knockdown of Beclin1 and LC3B reduced invasion,metastasis,and proliferation in metastatic osteosarcoma cells.In vitro and in vivo studies also demonstrated that inhibiting by 3-MA inhibited cell growth and metastasis.Moreover,we demonstrated that autophagy-related genes were activated by SEs and that the inhibition of SEs by JQ-1 decreased the metastasis of osteosarcoma.Overall,our findings highlighted the association of autophagy with osteosarcoma progression and shed new light on autophagy-targeting therapy for osteosarcoma.Hongyi Wang Zhuochao Liu Jun Wang Fangqiong Hu Qi Zhou Li Wei Qiyuan Bao Jizhuang Wang Jing Liang Zhihong Liu Weibin Zhang 2022Frontiers of Medicine2022,16,6:0

18Angiosperm-wide analysis of fruit and ovary evolution aided by a new nuclear phylogeny supports association of the same ovary type with both dry and fleshy fruits显示文摘Fruit functions in seed protection and dispersal and belongs to many dry and fleshy types,yet their evolutionary pattern remains unclear in part due to uncertainties in the phylogenetic relationships among several orders and families.Thus we used nuclear genes of 502 angiosperm species representing 231 families to reconstruct a well supported phylogeny,with resolved relationships for orders and families with previously uncertain placements.Using this phylogeny as a framework,molecular dating supports a Triassic origin of the crown angiosperms,followed by the emergence of most orders in the Jurassic and Cretaceous and their rise to ecological dominance during the Cretaceous Terrestrial Revolution.The robust phylogeny allowed an examination of the evolutionary pattern of fruit and ovary types,revealing a trend of parallel carpel fusions during early diversifications in eudicots,monocots,and magnoliids.Moreover,taxa in the same order or family with the same ovary type can develop either dry or fleshy fruits with strong correlations between specific types of dry and fleshy fruits;such associations of ovary,dry and fleshy fruits define several ovaryfruit'modules'each found in multiple families.One of the frequent modules has an ovary containing multiple ovules,capsules and berries,and another with an ovary having one or two ovules,achenes(or other single-seeded dry fruits)and drupes.This new perspective of relationships among fruit types highlights the closeness of specific dry and fleshy fruit types,such as capsule and berry,that develop from the same ovary type and belong to the same module relative to dry and fleshy fruits of other modules(such as achenes and drupes).Further analyses of gene families containing known genes for ovary and fruit development identified phylogenetic nodes with multiple gene duplications,supporting a possible role of whole-genome duplications,in combination with climate changes and animal behaviors,in angiosperm fruit and ovary diversification.Yezi Xiang Taikui Zhang Yiyong Zhao Hongjin Dong Hongyi Chen Yi Hu Chien-Hsun Huang Jun Xiang Hong Ma 2024Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2024,66,2:0
19Effects of different concentrations of celecoxib on proliferation and cell cycle of SH-SY-5Y cells and its mechanisms In vitro study显示文摘BACKGROUND: Highly selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors have recently been approved for the treatment of colon cancer,breast cancer,urinary bladder cancer,and skin cancer. For the highly selective COX-2 celecoxib,the mechanism of action for inhibiting neuroblastoma cells is still uncertain. OBJECTIVE: To observe the influence of different celecoxib concentrations on proliferation and cell cycle of SH-SY-5Y cells in vitro and to reveal potential COX-2-independent mechanisms of celecoxib on SH-SY-5Y cells. DESIGN: Controlled experiment. SETTING: Department of Hematology,Affiliated Hospital of the Qingdao Medical College,Qingdao University,Shandong Province. MATERIALS: The study was performed at the Cerebrovascular Disease Institute of Shandong Province and the Laboratory of Molecular Biology,Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao Medical College,Qingdao University between September 2006 and June 2007. The SH-SY-5Y cell line was obtained from the Department of Molecular Biology,Qingdao Medical College,Qingdao University. Celecoxib was obtained from Pfizer Pharmaceuticals LLC,USA. Coulter DNA PREP reagent kit was purchased from Beckman Coulter,Inc. The antibodies against human CyclinD1,P21,and P16 were purchased from Santa Cruz Biotechnology. METHODS: SH-SY-5Y cells were treated with different concentrations of celecoxib (10,20,40,and 80 μmol/L) for 48 hours and comprised the experimental groups. The same concentrations of DMSO (dimethyl sulphoxide) treatment for 48 hours served as the control group. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① Cellular morphology of cells pre-treated and post-treated with celecoxib by inverted microscopy. ② Methabenzthiazuron assay was used to measure cell proliferation. ③ Cell cycle was measured by flow cytometry after incubation with different celecoxib concentrations for 48 hours. ④ CyclinD1,P16,and P21 protein expression was detected by Western blot analysis. RESULTS: ① Cellular morphology: The shape of SH-SY-5Y cells pre-treated with celecoxib was a slender,fusiform shape. SH-SY-5Y cells became short or polygon after 48 hours of treatment with different celecoxib concentrations. ② Cell proliferation: Cell absorbance decreased with increasing concentrations. The inhibitory effect of celecoxib on SH-SY-5Y cells was dose-dependent effect. ③ Cell cycle: Cell cycle analysis demonstrated a dose-dependent accumulation of cells in the G0-G1 phase. Heteroploid cells were significantly inhibited. ④ CyclinD1,P16,and P21 protein expression: CyclinD1 expression decreased with increasing celecoxib concentrations; P21 and P16 expression increased. CONCLUSION: Celecoxib inhibited SH-SY5Y cell growth. This effect was dose-dependent. 20Functional Recovery with Electro-Acupuncture Stimulation in an Mecp2-Knockout Rat Model of Rett Syndrome显示文摘Rett syndrome is a progressive neurodevelopmental disorder that lacks effective treatments.Although deep-brain stimulation can alleviate some symptoms in Rett model mice,this interventional manipula-tion requires deliberate surgical operations.Here,we report that electro-acupuncture stimulation(EAS)can ameliorate symptoms of an Mecp2-knockout rat model of Rett syndrome from the remote acupoints Baihui(GV 20),Yongquan(KI 1),and Shenmen(HT 7).We find that EAS not only prolongs the survival time of Rett rats,but also improves their behavior ability,including locomotion,motor coordination,and social interaction.Neural activation was observed in the substantia nigra of the midbrain,corpus striatum,and cerebral cortex of wild-type and Rett model rats,as reflected by the increased expression of the c-Fos protein.Hence,EAS provides a potential promising therapeutic tool for treating neurodevel-opmental diseases.Yanhong Sun Zhifang Chen Yi Xu Yuefang Zhang Zhilei Ge Chenglie Lin Yi Zhou Fangfei Zhao Meiling Yan Xinyi Liu Ying Zhu Jimin Gao Hongyi Li Lihua Wang Jun Hu Zilong Qiu Chunhai Fan 2022Engineering2022,8,5:0
