1Spin-decoupled metasurface for simultaneous detection of spin and orbital angular momenta via momentum transformation显示文摘With inherent orthogonality,both the spin angular momentum(SAM)and orbital angular momentum(OAM)of photons have been utilized to expand the dimensions of quantum information,optical communications,and information processing,wherein simultaneous detection of SAMs and OAMs with a single element and a single-shot measurement is highly anticipated.Here,a single azimuthal-quadratic phase metasurface-based photonic momentum transformation(PMT)is illustrated and utilized for vortex recognition.Since different vortices are converted into focusing patterns with distinct azimuthal coordinates on a transverse plane through PMT,OAMs within a large mode space can be determined through a single-shot measurement.Moreover,spin-controlled dual-functional PMTs are proposed for simultaneous SAM and OAM sorting,which is implemented by a single spin-decoupled metasurface that merges both the geometric phase and dynamic phase.Interestingly,our proposed method can detect vectorial vortices with both phase and polarization singularities,as well as superimposed vortices with a certain interval step.Experimental results obtained at several wavelengths in the visible band exhibit good agreement with the numerical modeling.With the merits of ultracompact device size,simple optical configuration,and prominent vortex recognition ability,our approach may underpin the development of integrated and high-dimensional optical and quantum systems.Yinghui Guo Shicong Zhang Mingbo Pu Qiong He Jinjin Jin Mingfeng Xu Yaxin Zhang Ping Gao Xiangang Luo 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,4:14
2Crosstalk-free achromatic full Stokes imaging polarimetry metasurface enabled by polarization-dependent phase optimization显示文摘Imaging polarimetry is one of the most widely used analytical technologies for object detection and analysis.To date,most metasurface-based polarimetry techniques are severely limited by narrow operating bandwidths and inevitable crosstalk,leading to detrimental effects on imaging quality and measurement accuracy.Here,we propose a crosstalkfree broadband achromatic full Stokes imaging polarimeter consisting of polarization-sensitive dielectric metalenses,implemented by the principle of polarization-dependent phase optimization.Compared with the single-polarization optimization method,the average crosstalk has been reduced over three times under incident light with arbitrary polarization ranging from 9μm to 12μm,which guarantees the measurement of the polarization state more precisely.The experimental results indicate that the designed polarization-sensitive metalenses can effectively eliminate the chromatic aberration with polarization selectivity and negligible crosstalk.The measured average relative errors are 7.08%,8.62%,7.15%,and 7.59%at 9.3,9.6,10.3,and 10.6μm,respectively.Simultaneously,the broadband full polarization imaging capability of the device is also verified.This work is expected to have potential applications in wavefront detection,remote sensing,light-field imaging,and so forth.Yaxin Zhang Mingbo Pu Jinjin Jin Xinjian Lu Yinghui Guo Jixiang Cai Fei Zhang Yingli Ha Qiong He Mingfeng Xu Xiong Li Xiaoliang Ma Xiangang Luo 2022Opto-Electronic Advances2022,5,11:6

4Dual-band and ultra-broadband photonic spin-orbit interaction for electromagnetic shaping based on single-layer silicon metasurfaces显示文摘Achieving electromagnetic wave scattering manipulation in the multispectral and broad operation band has been a long pursuit in stealth applications. Here, we present an approach by using single-layer metasurfaces composed of space-variant amorphous silicon ridges tiled on a metallic mirror, to generate high-efficiency dual-band and ultra-wideband photonic spin-orbit interaction and geometric phase. Two scattering engineered metasurfaces have been designed to reduce specular reflection;the first one can suppress both specular reflectances at 1.05–1.08 μm and 5–12 μm below 10%. The second one is designed for an ultra-broadband of 4.6–14 μm, which is actually implemented by cleverly connecting two bands of 4.6–6.1 μm and 6.1–14 μm. 11Physics-data-driven intelligent optimization for large-aperture metalenses显示文摘Metalenses have gained significant attention and have been widely utilized in optical systems for focusing and imaging,owing to their lightweight,high-integration,and exceptional-flexibility capabilities.Traditional design methods neglect the coupling effect between adjacent meta-atoms,thus harming the practical performance of meta-devices.The existing physical/data-driven optimization algorithms can solve the above problems,but bring significant time costs or require a large number of data-sets.Here,we propose a physics-data-driven method employing an“intelligent optimizer”that enables us to adaptively modify the sizes of the meta-atom according to the sizes of its surrounding ones.The implementation of such a scheme effectively mitigates the undesired impact of local lattice coupling,and the proposed network model works well on thousands of data-sets with a validation loss of 3×10^(−3).Based on the“intelligent optimizer”,a 1-cm-diameter metalens is designed within 3 hours,and the experimental results show that the 1-mm-diameter metalens has a relative focusing efficiency of 93.4%(compared to the ideal focusing efficiency)and a Strehl ratio of 0.94.Compared to previous inverse design method,our method significantly boosts designing efficiency with five orders of magnitude reduction in time.More generally,it may set a new paradigm for devising large-aperture meta-devices.Yingli Ha Yu Luo Mingbo Pu Fei Zhang Qiong He Jinjin Jin Mingfeng Xu Yinghui Guo Xiaogang Li Xiong Li Xiaoliang Ma Xiangang Luo 2023Opto-Electronic Advances2023,6,11:1
12A review on anammox process for the treatment of antibiotic-containing wastewater: Linking effects with corresponding mechanisms显示文摘Antibiotic is widely present in the effluent from livestock husbandry and the pharmaceutical industry.Antibiotics in wastewater usually have high biological toxicity and even promote the occurrence and transmission of antibiotic resistant bacteria and antibiotic resistance genes.Moreover,most antibiotic-containing wastewater contains high concentration of ammonia nitrogen.Improper treatment will lead to high risk to the surrounding environment and even human health.The anaerobic ammonium oxidation(anammox)with great economic benefit and good treatment effect is a promising process to remove nitrogen from antibiotic-containing wastewater.However,antibiotic inhibition has been observed in anammox applications.Therefore,a comprehensive overview of the single and combined effects of various antibiotics on the anammox system is conducted in this review with a focus on nitrogen removal performance,sludge properties,microbial community,antibiotic resistance genes and anammox-involved functional genes.Additionally,the influencing mechanism of antibiotics on anammox consortia is summarized.Remaining problems and future research needs are also proposed based on the presented summary.This review provides a better understanding of the influences of antibiotics on anammox and offers a direction to remove nitrogen from antibiotic-containing wastewater by the anammox process.Jinjin Fu Quan Zhang Baocheng Huang Niansi Fan Rencun Jin 2021Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2021,15,1:1

14Weak Acetylene Adsorption Terminated Carbon-Carbon Coupling Kinetics on Silver Electrocatalysts显示文摘Owing to serious poison of downstream olefin polymerization catalysts from acetylene impurities,selective reduction of acetylene to ethylene is a pivotal process in petrochemical industry.However,during thermocatalytic and electrocatalytic acetylene semihydrogenation,acetylene C-C coupling inevitably occurs on current catalysts.The resultant oligomeric species(particularly long-chain hydrocarbons)block active sites and mass transportation,and eventually decrease catalytic activity and stability.In this work,we report Ag nanowires(NWs)as high-performance electrocatalysts for acetylene semihydrogenation,where the C-C coupling is unprecedentedly suppressed by weakening acetylene adsorption.In pure acetylene,1,3-butadiene Faradaic efficiency(FE)of Ag NWs is only 2.1%,which is far lower than 41.2%for Cu nanoparticles at−0.2 V versus reversible hydrsogen electrode.Ethylene partial current density of Ag NWs reaches 217 mA/cm^(2)at 0.85 V,which is considerably higher than those for state-of-the-art Cu-based electrocatalysts.Markedly,no 1,3-butadiene is produced on Ag NWs in a large two-electrode flow cell fed with crude ethylene containing 1 vol%acetylene,presenting thorough termination of acetylene C-C coupling.In situ electrochemical Raman spectroscopy and theoretical investigations reveal that weak acetylene adsorption on Ag surfaces is intrinsically responsible for prohibiting their oligomerization.This work will spark the rapid development of high-performance and stable electrocatalysts for reducing alkynes to olefins.Rui Bai Jinjin Li Jin Lin Zhenpeng Liu Chen Yan Lei Zhang Jian Zhang 2023CCS Chemistry2023,5,1:0

16Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell-induced autophagy ameliorates TNBS-induced experimental colitis by downregulating the NLRP3 inflammasome显示文摘This study aimed to elucidate the potential mechanisms through which bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells(BM-MSCs)may be effective in alleviating experimental colitis induced by treatment with 2,4,6-trinitrobenzene-sulfonate acid(TNBS),specifically through autophagy modulation.Methods:BM-MSCs were collected from BALB/c mice for subsequent experiments.The study employed cell counting kits(CCK-8)to investigate the impact of the MSC-conditioned medium(M medium)on the proliferation of RAW264.7 macrophages.The GFP-mRFP-LC3 adenovirus was transfected into RAW264.7 to detect autophagic flux.The gene expression of cytokines was assessed through quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR).Western blot analysis was employed to determine the presence of a binding interaction between NOD-like receptor protein 3(NLRP3)and autophagy.Furthermore,a colitis mouse model was established by TNBS induction.Clinical disease activity score was assessed regularly,and histological and morphometric analyses were performed on colonic tissues.Inflammatory serum cytokines were identified using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Results:BM-MSCs significantly promoted the proliferation of RAW264.7.In vitro lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated RAW264.7 cells,treated with BM-MSCs,triggered autophagy and inhibited cytokine mRNA expression.Additionally,in LPS-induced RAW264.7,BM-MSCs enhanced the Beclin1 protein expression and the microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3(LC3)-II to LC3-I ratio while suppressing the protein levels of NLRP3 and apoptosis-associated speck-like protein(ASC).Nevertheless,3-methyladenine(3-MA),an inhibitor of autophagy,prevented the impact of BM-MSCs by reducing the levels of NLRP3 and ASC proteins,suggesting that autophagy triggered the inhibition of the NLRP3 inflammasome.In comparison to the mice in the TNBS group,the mice in the TNBS+MSC group displayed a more acute form of colitis,and the IL1βand IL18 cytokines in their serum were lowered as well.In the meantime,3-MA raised IL1βand IL18 cytokine levels and worsened TNBS-induced experimental colitis.Conclusions:BM-MSCs can suppress inflammation in TNBS-induced experimental mice by inhibiting the NLRP3 inflammasome,thereby enhancing autophagy.JINJIN FU XIAOYUE FENG JUAN WEI XIANG GENG YU GONG FENGDONG LI SHAOHUA ZHUANG JIN HUANG FANGYU WANG 2023BIOCELL2023,47,12:0

18Molten Salt-Shielded Synthesis(MS^(3))of MXenes in Air显示文摘MXenes are two-dimensional transition metal carbides and/or nitrides with unique physiochemical properties and have attracted extensive interest in numerous fields.However,current MXene synthesis methods are limited by hazardous synthesis conditions,high production costs,or difficulty in largescale production.Therefore,a general,safe,cost-effective,and scalable synthesis method for MXenes is crucial.Here,we report the fast synthesis of MXenes in the open air using a molten salt-shielded synthesis(MS^(3))method,which uses Lewis-acid salts as etchants and a low-melting-point eutectic salt mixture as the reaction medium and shield to prevent MXene oxidation at high temperatures.Carbide and nitride MXenes,including Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x),Ti_(2)CT_(x),Ti_(3)CNT_(x),and Ti_(4)N_(3)T_(x),were successfully synthesized using the MS^(3) method.We also present the flexibility of the MS^(3) method by scaling the etching process to large batches of 20 and 60 g of Ti_(3)AlC_(2) MAX precursor in one pot.When used as negative electrodes,the prepared MS^(3)-MXenes delivered excellent electrochemical properties for high-rate Li-ion storage.Jinjin Chen Qianqian Jin Youbing Li Hui Shao Pengcheng Liu Ying Liu Pierre-Louis Taberna Qing Huang Zifeng Lin Patrice Simon 2023Energy & Environmental Materials2023,6,2:0
19MSCs-derived apoptotic extracellular vesicles promote muscle regeneration by inducing Pannexin 1 channel-dependent creatine release by myoblasts显示文摘Severe muscle injury is hard to heal and always results in a poor prognosis.Recent studies found that extracellular vesicle-based therapy has promising prospects for regeneration medicine,however,whether extracellular vesicles have therapeutic effects on severe muscle injury is still unknown.Herein,we extracted apoptotic extracellular vesicles derived from mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs-Apo EVs)to treat cardiotoxin induced tibialis anterior(TA)injury and found that MSCs-Apo EVs promoted muscles regeneration and increased the proportion of multinucleated cells.Besides that,we also found that apoptosis was synchronized during myoblasts fusion and MSCs-Apo EVs promoted the apoptosis ratio as well as the fusion index of myoblasts.Furthermore,we revealed that MSCs-Apo EVs increased the relative level of creatine during myoblasts fusion,which was released via activated Pannexin 1 channel.Moreover,we also found that activated Pannexin 1 channel was highly expressed on the membrane of myoblasts-derived Apo EVs(Myo-Apo EVs)instead of apoptotic myoblasts,and creatine was the pivotal metabolite involved in myoblasts fusion.Collectively,our findings firstly revealed that MSCs-Apo EVs can promote muscle regeneration and elucidated that the new function of Apo EVs as passing inter-cell messages through releasing metabolites from activated Pannexin 1 channel,which will provide new evidence for extracellular vesicles-based therapy as well as improving the understanding of new functions of extracellular vesicles.Qingyuan Ye Xinyu Qiu Jinjin Wang Boya Xu Yuting Su Chenxi Zheng Linyuan Gui Lu Yu Huijuan Kuang Huan Liu Xiaoning He Zhiwei Ma Qintao Wang Yan Jin 2023International Journal of Oral Science2023,15,1:0
