| 1 | Puerarin partly counteracts the inflammatory response after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion via activating the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway显示文摘Puerarin,a major isoflavonoid derived from the Chinese medical herb radix puerariae(Gegen),has been reported to inhibit neuronal apoptosis and play an anti-inflammatory role in focal cerebra ischemia model rats.Recent findings regarding stroke pathophysiology have recognized that anti-inflammation is an important target for the treatment of ischemic stroke.The cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway is a highly robust neural-immune mechanism for inflammation control This study was to investigate whether activating the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway can be involved in the mechanism of inhibiting the inflammatory response during puerarin-induced cerebra ischemia/reperfusion in rats.Results showed that puerarin pretreatment(intravenous injection)reduced the ischemic infarct volume,improved neurological deficit after cerebra ischemia/reperfusion and decreased the levels of interleukin-1β,interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-αin brain tissue.Pretreatment with puerarin(intravenous injection)attenuated the inflammatory response in rats,which was accompanied by janus-activated kinase 2(JAK2)and signal transducers and activators of transcription 3(STAT3)activation and nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB)inhibition.These observations were inhibited by the alpha7 nicotinic acetylcholine recepto(α7nAchR)antagonistα-bungarotoxin(α-BGT).In addition,puerarin pretreatment increased the expression ofα7nAchR mRNA in ischemic cerebral tissue.These data demonstrate that puerarin pretreatment strongly protects the brain against cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury and inhibits the inflammatory response.Our results also indicated that the anti-inflammatory effect of puerarin may partly be mediated through the activation of the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway. | Xiaojie Liu Zhigang Mei Jingping Qian Yongbao Zeng Mingzhi Wang | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,34: | 39 |
| 2 | Emodin attenuates severe acute pancreatitis-associated acute lung injury by suppressing pancreatic exosome-mediated alveolar macrophage activation显示文摘Severe acute pancreatitis-associated acute lung injury(SAP-ALI) is a serious disease associated with high mortality. Emodin has been applied to alleviate SAP-ALI;however, the mechanism remains unclear. We report that the therapeutic role of emodin in attenuating SAP-ALI is partly dependent on an exosomal mechanism. SAP rats had increased levels of plasma exosomes with altered protein contents compared to the sham rats. These infused plasma exosomes tended to accumulate in the lungs and promoted the hyper-activation of alveolar macrophages and inflammatory damage. Conversely,emodin treatment decreased the plasma/pancreatic exosome levels in the SAP rats. Emodin-primed exosomes showed less pro-inflammatory effects in alveolar macrophages and lung tissues than SAP exosomes. In detail, emodin-primed exosomes suppressed the NF-κB pathway to reduce the activation of alveolar macrophage and ameliorate lung inflammation by regulating PPARγ pathway, while these effects were amplified/abolished by PPARγ agonist/antagonist. Blockage of pancreatic acinar cell exosome biogenesis also exhibited suppression of alveolar macrophage activation and reduction of lung inflammation. | 3 | Monolithic edge-cladding process for the elliptical disk of N31-type Nd-doped high-power laser glass显示文摘This paper investigates the monolithic edge-cladding process for the elliptical disk of N31-type Nd-doped phosphate laser glass,which will be utilized under liquid cooling conditions for high-power laser systems.The thermal stress,interface bubbles and residual refiectivity,which are due to high-temperature casting and bonding during the monolithic edge-cladding process,are simulated and determined.The applied mould is optimized to a rectangular cavity mould,and the casting temperature is optimized to 1000℃.The resulting lower bubble density makes the mean residual refiectivity as low as 6.75×10^(-5),which is enough to suppress the amplified spontaneous emission generated in the Nd-glass disk,and the resulting maximum optical retardation is converged to 10.2–13.3 nm/cm,which is a favourable base for fine annealing to achieve the stress specification of less than or equal to 5 nm/cm.After fine annealing at the optimized 520℃,the maximum optical retardation is as low as 4.8 nm/cm,and the minimum transmitted wavefront peak-to-valley value is 0.222 wavelength(632.8 nm).An N31 elliptical disk with the size of 194 mm×102 mm×40 mm can be successfully cladded by the optimized monolithic edge-cladding process,whose edge-cladded disk with the size of 200 mm×108 mm×40 mm can achieve laser gain one-third higher than that of an N21-type disk of the same size. | Huiyu Chen Min Qian Youkuo Chen Xin Wang Jingping Tang Lei Wen Junjiang Hu Wei Chen Shubin Chen Lili Hu | 2022 | High Power Laser Science and Engineering2022,10,2: | 1 |

| 7 | Cross-layer optimization in ultra wideband networks显示文摘Ultra wideband (UWB) network brings both chance and challenge to personal area wireless communications. Compared with other IEEE 802 small range wireless protocols (such as WLAN and Bluetooth), UWB has both extremely high bandwidth (up to 480 Mbps) and low radiation. Moreover, the structured MAC layer of UWB is the fundamental difference to WLAN. The top one is that only when two UWB de-vices belong to the same piconet can they communicate with each other directly, which means that we must jointly consider topology formation and routing when deploying UWB networks because the interaction between routing and topology formation makes separate optimization ineffective. This paper tries to optimize UWB network from a cross-layer point of view. Specifically, given device spatial distribution and traffic requirement, we want to form piconets and determine rout-ing jointly, to maximize the overall throughput. We formulate the problem of joint optimization to mixed-integer programming and give a practical lower bound that is very close to the theoretical upper bound in our simulation. | 9 | Evaluation of the submarine debris-flow hazard risks to planned subsea pipeline systems: a case study in the Qiongdongnan Basin, South China Sea显示文摘The ever-increasing deepwater oil and gas development in the Qiongdongnan Basin,South China Sea has initiated the need to evaluate submarine debris-flow hazard risks to seafloor infrastructures.This paper presents a case study on evaluating the debris-flow hazard risks to the planned pipeline systems in this region.We used a numerical model to perform simulations to support this quantitative evaluation.First,one relict failure interpreted across the development site was simulated.The back-analysis modeling was used to validate the applicability of the rheological parameters.Then,this model was applied to forecast the runout behaviors of future debris flows originating from the unstable upslope regions considered to be the most critical to the pipeline systems surrounding the Manifolds A and B.The model results showed that the potential debris-flow hazard risks rely on the location of structures and the selection of rheological parameters.For the Manifold B and connected pipeline systems,because of their remote distances away from unstable canyon flanks,the potential debris flows impose few risks.However,the pipeline systems around the Manifold A are exposed to significant hazard risks from future debris flows with selected rheological parameters.These results are beneficial for the design of a more resilient pipeline route in consideration of future debris-flow hazard risks. | Mingquan Huang Xuesheng Qian Jingping Xu Xuecheng Li | 2023 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2023,42,5: | 0 |
