1Sea ice extent retrieval with HY-2A scatterometer data and its assessment显示文摘A sea ice extent retrieval algorithm over the polar area based on scatterometer data of HY-2A satellite has been established.Four parameters are used for distinguishing between sea ice and ocean with Fisher's linear discriminant analysis method.The method is used to generate polar sea ice extent maps of the Arctic and Antarctic regions of the full 2013–2014 from the scatterometer aboard HY-2A(HY-2A-SCAT) backscatter data.The time series of the ice mapped imagery shows ice edge evolution and indicates a similar seasonal change trend with total ice area from DMSP-F17 Special Sensor Microwave Imager/Sounder(SSMIS) sea ice concentration data.For both hemispheres,the HY-2A-SCAT extent correlates very well with SSMIS 15% extent for the whole year period.Compared with Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) imagery,the HY-2A-SCAT ice extent shows good correlation with the Sentinel-1 SAR ice edge.Over some ice edge area,the difference is very evident because sea ice edges can be very dynamic and move several kilometers in a single day.SHI Lijian LI Mingming ZHAO Chaofang WANG Zhixiong SHI Yingni ZOU Juhong ZENG Tao 2017Acta Oceanologica Sinica2017,36,8:5
2Associations of PGK1 promoter hypomethylation and PGK1-mediated PDHK1 phosphorylation with cancer stage and prognosis:a TCGA pan-cancer analysis显示文摘Background:Cancer cells reprogram metabolism for proliferation.Phosphoglycerate kinase 1(PGK1),as a glycolytic enzyme and newly identified protein kinase,coordinates glycolysis and mitochondrial metabolism.However,the clini-cal significance of PGK1 expression and function in cancer progression is unclear.Here,we investigated the relation-ship between the progression and prognosis of multiple cancer types and PGK1 expression and its function in the mitochondrial metabolism regulation.Methods:We performed pan-cancer analyses of PGK1 mRNA level and DNA methylation in 11,908 tumor tissues and 1582 paired normal tissues across 34 cancer types in The Cancer Genome Atlas datasets.Using specific antibodies against PGK1 S203 and PDHK1 T338 phosphorylation,we performed immunohistochemistry with tissue microarray assay in additional 818 cancer cases with 619 paired normal tissues from five cancer types.Results:The PGK1 mRNA level was significantly elevated with hypomethylation in promotor regions and associated with advanced TNM stage in 15 and four cancer types,respectively.In breast carcinoma,elevated PGK1 mRNA level and promoter hypomethylation were associated with poor prognosis.Positively correlated PGK1 S203 and PDHK1 T338 phosphorylation levels were significantly associated with short overall survival(OS)in cancers of the breast,liver,lung,stomach,and esophagus and with advanced TNM stage in breast and esophageal cancers.PGK1 pS203 and PDHK1 pT338 were also independent predictors of short OS in liver,lung,and stomach cancer.Conclusions:The elevated expression,promoter hypomethylation,and phosphorylation of PGK1 and PDHK1 were related with disease progression and short OS in diverse types of cancer.PGK1 and PDHK1 phosphorylation may be potential prognostic biomarkers.Fei Shao Xueying Yang Wei Wang Juhong Wang Wei Guo Xiaoli Feng Susheng Shi Qi Xue Shugeng Gao Yibo Gao Zhimin Lu Jie He 2019Cancer Communications2019,39,1:4
3C/Ti/Cu interfacial reaction in SiCf/Cu composites显示文摘Continuous SiC fiber reinforced copper matrix(SiCf/Cu) composites were prepared by fiber coating method,and Ti6Al4V interlayer was introduced as an interfacial modification coating to improve the interfacial bonding strength.The interfacial reaction characteristics were investigated by transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The results show that nearly all the titanium atoms reacted with the carbon coating of SiC fibers to form two layers of TiC.Also,a thin copper layer that is sandwiched between these two layers was detected.No Ti-Cu interfacial reaction product was observed.The formation process of the interfacial reaction along with its mechanism was discussed.LUO Xian YANG Yanqing WANG Chen LOU Juhong XUE Chunling 2011Rare Metals2011,30,4:3
4A non-metabolic function of hexokinase 2 in small cell lung cancer:promotes cancer cell stemness by increasing USP11-mediated CD133 stability显示文摘Background:Maintenance of cancer stem-like cell(CSC)stemness supported by aberrantly regulated cancer cell metabolism is critical for CSC self-renewal and tumor progression.As a key glycolytic enzyme,hexokinase 2(HK2)plays an instrumental role in aerobic glycolysis and tumor progression.However,whether HK2 directly contribute to CSC stemness maintenance in small cell lung cancer(SCLC)is largely unclear.In this study,we aimed to investgate whether HK2 independent of its glycolytic activity is directly involved in stemness maintenance of CSC in SCLC.Methods:Immunoblotting analyses were conducted to determine the expression of HK2 in SCLC CSCs and their differentiated counterparts.CSC-like properties and tumorigenesis of SCLC cells with or without HK2 depletion or overexpression were examined by sphere formation assay and xenograft mouse model.Immunoprecipitation and mass spectrometry analyses were performed to identify the binding proteins of CD133.The expression levels of CD133-associated and CSC-relevant proteins were evaluated by immunoblotting,immunoprecipitation,immunofluorescence,and immunohistochemistry assay.RNA expression levels of Nanog,POU5F1,Lin28,HK2,Prominin-1 were analyzed through quantitative reverse transcription PCR.Polyubiquitination of CD133 was examined by in vitro or in vivo ubiquitination assay.CD133+cells were sorted by flow cytometry using an anti-CD133 antibody.Results:We demonstrated that HK2 expression was much higher in CSCs of SCLC than in their differentiated counterparts.HK2 depletion inhibited CSC stemness and promoted CSC differentiation.Mechanistically,nonmitochondrial HK2 directly interacted with CD133 and enhanced CD133 expression without affecting CD133 mRNA levels.The interaction of HK2 and CD133 promoted the binding of the deubiquitinase ubiquitin-specific protease 11(USP11)to CD133,thereby inhibiting CD133 polyubiquitylation and degradation.HK2-mediated upregulation of CD133 expression enhanced the expression of cell renewal regulators,SCLC cell stemness,and tumor growth in mice.In addition,HK2 expression was positively correlated with CD133 expression in human SCLC specimens,and their expression levels were associated with poor prognosis of SCLC patients.Conclusions:These results revealed a critical non-metabolic function of HK2 in promotion of cancer cell stemness.Our findings provided new insights into the multifaceted roles of HK2 in tumor development.Juhong Wang Fei Shao Yannan Yang Wei Wang Xueying Yang Renda Li Hong Cheng Sijin Sun Xiaoli Feng Yibo Gao Jie He Zhimin Lu 2022Cancer Communications2022,42,10:2
5Effect of Cu additive on the structure and magnetic properties of (CoPt)_(1-x)Cu_x films显示文摘CoPt thin films with various Cu contents varying from 0 vol.% to 21.5 vol.% were deposited on glass substrates by magnetron sputtering. The effects of Cu additive on the structural and magnetic properties and the ordering temperature of CoPt films were investigated in detail. The results show that the Cu in CoPt films plays an important role in promoting the ordering parameter S and reducing the ordering tempera-ture of CoPt films. A nearly perfect (001) texture was obtained in a CoPt film doped with 15.3 vol.% Cu. Besides, the preferred orientation of the CoPt film can be changed by annealing temperature. 6Evaluation of the technoeconomic feasibility of electrochemical hydrogen peroxide production for decentralized water treatment显示文摘This study evaluated the feasibility of electrochemical hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)production with gas diffusion electrode(GDE)for decentralized water treatment.Carbon black-polytetrafluoroethylene GDEs were prepared and tested in a continuous flow electrochemical cell for H2O2 production from oxygen reduction.Results showed that because of the effective oxygen transfer in GDEs,the electrode maintained high apparent current efficiencies(ACEs,>80%)for H_(2)O_(2) production over a wide current density range of 5–400 mA/cm^(2),and H_(2)O_(2) production rates as high as~202 mg/h/cm^(2) could be obtained.Long-term stability test showed that the GDE maintained high ACEs(>85%)and low energy consumption(<10 kWh/kg H2O2)for H_(2)O_(2) production for 42 d(~1000 h).However,the ACEs then decreased to~70%in the following 4 days because water flooding of GDE pores considerably impeded oxygen transport at the late stage of the trial.Based on an electrode lifetime of 46 days,the overall cost for H2O2 production was estimated to be~0.88$/kg H_(2)O_(2),including an electricity cost of 0.61$/kg and an electrode capital cost of 0.27$/kg.With a 9 cm^(2) GDE and 40 mA/cm^(2) current density,~2–4 mg/L of H2O2 could be produced on site for the electro-peroxone treatment of a 1.2 m^(3)/d groundwater flow,which considerably enhanced ibuprofen abatement compared with ozonation alone(~43%–59%vs.7%).These findings suggest that electrochemical H_(2)O_(2) production with GDEs holds great promise for the development of compact treatment technologies for decentralized water treatment at a household and community level.Yang Li Yixin Zhang Guangshen Xia Juhong Zhan Gang Yu Yujue Wang 2021Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2021,15,1:2

11Semantic segmentation of high-resolution images显示文摘Image semantic segmentation is a research topic that has emerged recently. Although existing approaches have achieved satisfactory accuracy, they are limited to handling low-resolution images owing to their large memory consumption. In this paper, we present a semantic segmentation method for high-resolution images. First, we downsample the input image to a lower resolution and then obtain a low-resolution semantic segmentation image using state-of-the-art methods. Next, we use joint bilateral upsampling to upsample the low-resolution solution and obtain a high-resolution semantic segmentation image. To modify joint bilateral upsampling to handle discrete semantic segmentation data, we propose using voting instead of interpolation in filtering computation. 14Deleterious processes of a diode-pumped cesium vapor hollow-core photonic-crystal fiber laser显示文摘A diode-pumped alkali laser(DPAL) provides the significant promise for high-powered performances. In this paper, a mathematical model is introduced for examination of the kinetic processes of a diode-pumped cesium vapor hollow-core photonic-crystal fiber(HC-PCF) laser, in which the cesium vapor is filled in the center hole of a photonic-bandgap fiber instead of a glass cell. The influence of deleterious processes including energy pooling, photo-ionization, and Penning ionization on the physical features of a fiber DPAL is studied in this report. 15Experimental evaluation of temperature distribution of a vapor cell using a Hilbert transform procedure显示文摘A diode-pumped alkali vapor laser(DPAL) is one of the most promising candidates of the next-generation high-powered laser source. As the saturated number density of alkali vapor is highly dependent on the temperature inside a vapor cell,the temperature distribution in the cross-section of a cell will greatly affect the homogeneity of a laser medium and the output characteristics of a DPAL. In this paper, we developed an algorithm based on the regime concluding quasi-Hilbert transform to evaluate the phase aberration of a wavefront when the probe beam passes through the vapor cell placed in one arm of a Mach–Zehnder interference setup. According to the theoretical algorithm, we deduced the temperature distribution of a cesium vapor cell for different heating conditions. 17Aerobic glycolysis promotes tumor immune evasion and tumor cell stemness through the noncanonical function of hexokinase 2显示文摘The Warburg effect is a key metabolic feature of cancer cells and manifests as substantially increased glycolysis regardless of the presence of oxygen[1].The initial step of glycolysis is catalyzed by hexokinase(HK),which converts glucose to the metabolic intermediate glucose-6-phosphate(G-6-P).Four kinds of HK isozymes,HK1,HK2,HK3 and HK4,have been found in mammals.HK1 and HK2 bind to the mitochondrial outer membrane through interac-tions with voltage-dependent anion channels(VDACs),and both of thesemolecules have a high affinity for glucose[2].HK2 overexpression is frequently detected in cancer cells,leading to enhanced aerobic glycolysis and tumorigenesis that renders HK2 an attractive target for cancer treatment[3].Important advances in research on cancer metabolism in recent decades have revealed thatmetabolic enzymes have non-metabolic functions,which play pivotal roles in tumor development and progression[4–6].Recent studies uncovered that HK2 directly promoted tumor immune evasion through the activity of a previously unidentified protein kinase and tumor cell stemness via upregulation of CD133 expression.Haiyan He Liwei Xiao Juhong Wang Dong Guo Zhimin Lu 2023Cancer Communications2023,43,3:0
18The CCT transcriptional activator Ghd2 constantly delays the heading date by upregulating CO3 in rice显示文摘CONSTANS,CO-like,and TOC1(CCT)family genes play important roles in regulating heading date,which exerts a large impact on the regional and seasonal adaptation of rice.Previous studies have shown that Grain number,plant height,and heading date2(Ghd2)exhibits a negative response to drought stress by directly upregulating Rubisco activase and exerting a negative effect on heading date.However,the target gene of Ghd2 regulating heading date is still unknown.In this study,CO3 is identified by analyzing Ghd2 ChIP-seq data.Ghd2 activates CO3 expression by binding to the CO3 promoter through its CCT domain.EMSA experiments show that the motif CCACTA in the CO3 promoter was recognized by Ghd2.A comparison of the heading dates among plants with CO3 knocked out or overexpressed and double-mutants with Ghd2 overexpressed and CO3 knocked out shows that CO3 negatively and constantly regulates flowering by repressing the transcription of Ehd1,Hd3a,and RFT1.In addition,the target genes of CO3 are explored via a comprehensive analysis of DAP-seq and RNA-seq data.Taken together,these results suggest that Ghd2 directly binds to the downstream gene CO3,and the Ghd2eCO3 module constantly delays heading date via the Ehd1-mediated pathway.Xiaowei Fan Pengfei Wang Feixiang Qi Yong Hu Shuangle Li Jia Zhang Liwen Liang Zhanyi Zhang Juhong Liu Lizhong Xiong Yongzhong Xing 2023Journal of Genetics and Genomics2023,50,10:0
