NbN superconducting nanowire single photon detector with efficiency over 90% at 1550 nm wavelength operational at compact cryocooler temperature显示文摘The rapid development of superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors over the past decade has led to numerous advances in quantum information technology. The record for the best system detection efficiency at an incident photon wavelength of 1550 nm is 93%. This performance was attained from a superconducting nanowire single-photon detector made of amorphous WSi; such detectors are usually operated at sub-Kelvin temperatures. In this study, we first demonstrate superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors made of polycrystalline NbN with system detection efficiency of 90.2% for 1550-nm-wavelength photons at2.1 K, accessible with a compact cryocooler. The system detection efficiency saturated at 92.1% when the temperature was lowered to 1.8 K. We expect the results lighten the practical and high performance superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors to quantum information and other high-end applications. | WeiJun Zhang LiXing You Hao Li Jia Huang ChaoLin Lv Lu Zhang XiaoYu Liu JunJie Wu Zhen Wang XiaoMing Xie | 2017 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2017,60,12: | 9
Flavonoid content and radical scavenging activity in fruits of Chinese dwarf cherry(Cerasus humilis) genotypes显示文摘The Chinese dwarf cherry(Cerasus humilis(Bge.) Sok.) is a small shrub with edible fruits. It is native to northern and western China. This species was included as a medicinal plant in the ‘‘Chinese Pharmacopeia'' and has emerged as an economically important crop for fresh fruit consumption, processing into juice and wine and nutraceutical products as well. To gain a better understanding of flavonoid biosynthesis and help develop value added products and better cultivars with greater health benefits, we analyzed total flavonoid content(TFC), composition, and radical scavenging activities in fruit extracts of 16 Chinese dwarf cherry genotypes. Fruit peel TFC ranged from 33.5 to72.8 mg/g REáFW(RE: rutin equivalent, FW: fresh weight)while fruit flesh TFC ranged from 4.3 to 16.9 mg/g REáFW.An HPLC analysis revealed that fruit extracts contained 14 flavonoids with considerable variation in their profiles across genotypes. The most abundant flavonoids in most genotypes were proanthocyanidin B1(PA-B1), proanthocyanidin B2(PA-B2), phloretin 20-O-glucoside(PG), and phloretin 20,40-O-diglucoside(PDG). Principal component analysis showed that PG, PA-B1, and PA-B2 had large, positive factor loading values in the first principal component for each genotype. Increased scavenging activity of2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH) radicals was apparent in genotypes ‘Nongda 4', ‘Nongda 3', ‘Nongda 6',‘Wenfenli', and '10-32', suggesting promising applications in the production of nutraceutical products. In summary, our results will aid in breeding, fruit processing, and developing medicinal uses of the Chinese dwarf cherry. | Pengfei Wang Xiaopeng Mu Junjie Du Yu Gary Gao Donghai Bai Luting Jia Jiancheng Zhang Haiyan Ren Xiaofang Xue | 2018 | Journal of Forestry Research2018,29,1: | 8
Diffusion mechanism simulation of cloud manufacturing complex network based on cooperative game theory显示文摘Cloud manufacturing is a specific implementation form of the 'Internet + manufacturing' strategy. Why and how to develop cloud manufacturing platform(CMP), however, remains the key concern of both platform operators and users. A microscopic model is proposed to investigate advantages and diffusion forces of CMP through exploration of its diffusion process and mechanism. Specifically, a three-stage basic evolution process of CMP is innovatively proposed. Then, based on this basic process, a more complex CMP evolution model has been established in virtue of complex network theory, with five diffusion forces identified. Thereafter, simulations on CMP diffusion have been conducted. The results indicate that, CMP possesses better resource utilization, user satisfaction, and enterprise utility. Results of simulation on impacts of different diffusion forces show that both the time required for CMP to reach an equilibrium state and the final network size are affected simultaneously by the five diffusion forces. All these analyses indicate that CMP could create an open online cooperation environment and turns out to be an effective implementation of the 'Internet + manufacturing' strategy. | GENG Chao QU Shiyou XIAO Yingying WANG Mei SHI Guoqiang LIN Tingyu XUE Junjie JIA Zhengxuan | 2018 | Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2018,29,2: | 4
Endothelial PDGF-BB/PDGFR-βsignaling promotes osteoarthritis by enhancing angiogenesis-dependent abnormal subchondral bone formation显示文摘The mechanisms that coordinate the shift from joint homeostasis to osteoarthritis(OA)remain unknown. No pharmacological intervention can currently prevent the progression of osteoarthritis.Accumulating evidence has shown that subchondral bone deterioration is a primary trigger for overlying cartilage degeneration. We previously found that H-type vessels modulate aberrant subchondral bone formation during the pathogenesis of OA.However, the mechanism responsible for the elevation of H-type vessels in OA is still unclear. Here,we found that PDGFR-βexpression,predominantly in the CD31^(hi)Emcn^(hi) endothelium, was substantially elevated in subchondral bones from OA patients and rodent OA models.A mouse model of OA with deletion of PDGFR-βin endothelial cells(ECs)exhibited fewer H-type vessels, ameliorated subchondral bone deterioration and alleviated overlying cartilage degeneration.Endothelial PDGFR-βpromotes angiogenesis through the formation of the PDGFR-β/talin1/FAK complex.Notably,endothelium-specific inhibition of PDGFR-βby local injection of AAV9 in subchondral bone effectively attenuated the pathogenesis of OA compared with that of the vehicle-treated controls.Based on the results from this study, targeting PDGFR-βis a novel and promising approach for the prevention or early treatment of OA. | Zhuang Cui Hangtian Wu Ye Xiao Ting Xu Junjie Jia Hancheng Lin Rongmin Lin Kun Chen Yihuang Lin Kaiqun Li Xiaohu Wu Changjun Li Bin Yu | 2022 | Bone Research2022,10,4: | 4
Distribution of airborne SARS-CoV-2 and possible aerosol transmission in Wuhan hospitals, China显示文摘The novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)has caused an outbreak of CO V ID-19(2019 coronavirus infectious disease)that has led to a global public health crisis. The spread of SARS-CoV-2 can be rapid;but there is still considerable controversy about its main route of transmission[l,2];that is,whether transmission is by contact or through the air[2,3].Recently the W H O(World Health Organization)released a document that recognized the possibility of aerosol transmission of SARS-CoV-2 for indoor environments and enclosed spaces[4].The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the airborne transmission of SARS-CoV-2 through a field investigation of its occurrence in the air and other samples collected from health facilities in W uhan;China. | Jia Hu Chengfeng Lei Zhen Chen Weihua Liu Xujuan Hu Rongjuan Pei Zhengyuan Su Fei Deng Yu Huang Xiulian Sun Junji Cao Wuxiang Guan | 2020 | National Science Review2020,7,12: | 4
Nematode-Encoded RALF Peptide Mimics Facilitate Parasitism of Plants through the FERONIA Receptor Kinase显示文摘The molecular mechanism by which plants defend against plant root-knot nematodes(RKNs)is largely unknown. The plant receptor kinase FERONIA and its peptide ligands, rapid alkalinization factors(RALFs),regulate plant immune responses and cell expansion, which are two important factors for successful RKN parasitism. In this study,we found that mutation of FERONIA in Arabidopsis thaliana resulted in plants showing low susceptibility to the RKN Meloidogyne incognita. To identify the underlying mechanisms associated with this phenomenon,we identified 18 novel RALF-likes from multiple species of RKNs and showed that two RALF-likes(i.e.,MiRALF1 and MiRALF3)from M.incognita were expressed in the esophageal gland with high expression during the parasitic stages of nematode development. These nematode RALF-likes also possess the typical activities of plant RALFs and can directly bind to the extracellular domain of FERONIA to modulate specific steps of nematode parasitism-related immune responses and cell expansion.Genetically, both MiRALF1/3 and FERONIA are required for RKN parasitism in Arabidopsis and rice.Collectively, our study suggests that nematode-encoded RALFs facilitate parasitism via plant-encoded FERONIA and provides a novel paradigm for studying host-pathogen interactions. | Xin Zhang Huan Peng Sirui Zhu Junjie Xing Xin Li Zhaozhong Zhu Jingyuan Zheng Long Wang Bingqian Wang Jia Chen Zhenhua Ming Ke Yao Jinzhuo Jian Sheng Luan Devin Coleman-Derr Hongdong Liao Yousong Peng Deliang Peng Feng Yu | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,10: | 3

Realizing Intelligent Spectrum Management for Integrated Satellite and Terrestrial Networks显示文摘Nowadays both satellite and terrestrial networks are expanding rapidly to meet the ever-increasing demands for higher throughput, lower latency, and wider coverage. However, spectrum scarcity places obstacles in the sustainable development. To accommodate the expanding network within a limited spectrum, spectrum sharing is deemed as a promising candidate.Particularly, cognitive radio(CR)has been proposed in the literature to allow satellite and terrestrial networks to share their spectrum dynamically. However, the existing CR-based schemes are found to be impractical and inefficient because they neglect the difficulty in obtaining the accurate and timely environment perception in satellite communications and only focus on link-level coexistence with limited interoperability. In this paper,we propose an intelligent spectrum management framework based on software defined network(SDN)and artificial intelligence(AI).Specifically,SDN transforms the heterogenous satellite and terrestrial networks into an integrated satellite and terrestrial network(ISTN)with reconfigurability and interoperability.AI is further used to make predictive environment perception and to configure the network for optimal resource allocation.Briefly, the proposed framework provides a new paradigm to integrate and exploit the spectrum of satellite and terrestrial networks. | Ying-Chang Liang Junjie Tan Haonan Jia Jintao Zhang Lian Zhao | 2021 | Journal of Communications and Information Networks2021,6,1: | 2

Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Multilayertextured 2D Carbon/Carbon Composites显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D) carbon/carbon(C/C) composites with multilayered texture, especially with different thickness of high-textured(HT) pyrocarbon layer, were prepared by isothermal, isobaric chemical vapor infiltration(CVI) technique. The influence of matrix microstructure on mechanical properties of C/C composites was investigated by polarized light microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and three-point bending test. The results show that the samples with multilayer-textured pyrocarbon matrix own a higher flexural strength than the one with pure medium-textured structure, which is attributed to multiple crack deflection and interfacial sliding between different textured pyrocarbon layers and between sub-layers within HT layer. The increase in thickness of HT pyrocarbon layer improves the plasticity of the samples and renders the fracture in pseudo-plastic behavior. | Yan Jia Kezhi Li Shouyang Zhang Lei Li Junjie Ren | 2014 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2014,30,12: | 1

An invasive zone in human liver cancer identified by Stereo-seq promotes hepatocyte–tumor cell crosstalk, local immunosuppression and tumor progression显示文摘Dissecting and understanding the cancer ecosystem, especially that around the tumor margins, which have strong implications for tumor cell infiltration and invasion, are essential for exploring the mechanisms of tumor metastasis and developing effective new treatments.Using a novel tumor border scanning and digitization model enabled by nanoscale resolution-SpaTial Enhanced REsolution Omics-sequencing(Stereo-seq),we identified a 500µm-wide zone centered around the tumor border in patients with liver cancer, referred to as“the invasive zone”.We detected strong immunosuppression, metabolic reprogramming, and severely damaged hepatocytes in this zone.We also identified a subpopulation of damaged hepatocytes with increased expression of serum amyloid A1 and A2(referred to collectively as SAAs)located close to the border on the paratumor side.Overexpression of CXCL6 in adjacent malignant cells could induce activation of the JAK-STAT3 pathway in nearby hepatocytes, which subsequently caused SAAs’overexpression in these hepatocytes.Furthermore, overexpression and secretion of SAAs by hepatocytes in the invasive zone could lead to the recruitment of macrophages and M2 polarization, further promoting local immunosuppression, potentially resulting in tumor progression.Clinical association analysis in additional five independent cohorts of patients with primary and secondary liver cancer(n=423)showed that patients with overexpression of SAAs in the invasive zone had a worse prognosis.Further in vivo experiments using mouse liver tumor models in situ confirmed that the knockdown of genes encoding SAAs in hepatocytes decreased macrophage accumulation around the tumor border and delayed tumor growth. The identification and characterization of a novel invasive zone in human cancer patients not only add an important layer of understanding regarding the mechanisms of tumor invasion and metastasis, but may also pave the way for developing novel therapeutic strategies for advanced liver cancer and other solid tumors. | Liang Wu Jiayan Yan Yinqi Bai Feiyu Chen Xuanxuan Zou Jiangshan Xu Ao Huang Liangzhen Hou Yu Zhong Zehua Jing Qichao Yu Xiaorui Zhou Zhifeng Jiang Chunqing Wang Mengnan Cheng Yuan Ji Yingyong Hou Rongkui Luo Qinqin Li Liang Wu Jianwen Cheng Pengxiang Wang Dezhen Guo Waidong Huang Junjie Lei Shang Liu Yizhen Yan Yiling Chen Sha Liao Yuxiang Li Haixiang Sun Na Yao Xiangyu Zhang Shiyu Zhang Xi Chen Yang Yu Yao Li Fengming Liu Zheng Wang Shaolai Zhou Huanming Yang Shuang Yang Xun Xu Longqi Liu Qiang Gao Zhaoyou Tang Xiangdong Wang Jian Wang Jia Fan Shiping Liu Xinrong Yang Ao Chen Jian Zhou | 2023 | Cell Research2023,33,8: | 1

MAGUS:machine learning and graph theory assisted universal structure searcher显示文摘Crystal structure predictions based on first-principles calculations have gained great success in materials science and solid state physics. However, the remaining challenges still limit their applications in systems with a large number of atoms, especially the complexity of conformational space and the cost of local optimizations for big systems. Here,we introduce a crystal structure prediction method,MAGUS,based on the evolutionary algorithm, which addresses the above challenges with machine learning and graph theory.Techniques used in the program are summarized in detail and benchmark tests are provided. With intensive tests,we demonstrate that on-the-fly machine-learning potentials can be used to significantly reduce the number of expensive first-principles calculations, and the crystal decomposition based on graph theory can efficiently decrease the required configurations in order to find the target structures. We also summarized the representative applications of this method on several research topics, including unexpected compounds in the interior of planets and their exotic states at high pressure and high temperature(superionic, plastic, partially diffusive state, etc.);new functional materials(superhard,high-energy-density,superconducting,photoelectric materials),etc. These successful applications demonstrated that MAGUS code can help to accelerate the discovery of interesting materials and phenomena,as well as the significant value of crystal structure predictions in general. | Junjie Wang Hao Gao Yu Han Chi Ding Shuning Pan Yong Wang Qiuhan Jia Hui-Tian Wang Dingyu Xing Jian Sun | 2023 | National Science Review2023,10,7: | 1

Pulmonary complications and respiratory management in neurocritical care:a narrative review显示文摘Neurocritical care(NCC)is not only generally guided by principles of general intensive care, but also directed by specific goals and methods. This review summarizes the common pulmonary diseases and pathophysiology affecting NCC patients and the progress made in strategies of respiratory support in NCC.This review highlights the possible interactions and pathways that have been revealed between neurological injuries and respiratory diseases, including the catecholamine pathway, systemic inflammatory reactions, adrenergic hypersensitivity, and dopaminergic signaling.Pulmonary complications of neurocritical patients include pneumonia, neurological pulmonary edema, and respiratory distress.Specific aspects of respiratory management include prioritizing the protection of the brain, and the goal of respiratory management is to avoid inappropriate blood gas composition levels and intracranial hypertension.Compared with the traditional mode of protective mechanical ventilation with low tidal volume(V_(t)),high positive end-expiratory pressure(PEEP),and recruitment maneuvers, low PEEP might yield a potential benefit in closing and protecting the lung tissue.Multimodal neuromonitoring can ensure the safety of respiratory maneuvers in clinical and scientific practice.Future studies are required to develop guidelines for respiratory management in NCC. | Junxian Wen Jia Chen Jianbo Chang Junji Wei | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,,7: | 1
