| 1 | CuS-poly(N-isopropylacryl-amide-co-acrylic acid) compos-ite microspheres with patterned surface structures:preparation and characterization显示文摘N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) and acrylic acid (AA) copolymer microspheres with various composi- tions were prepared by reverse suspension polymerization technique. The microspheres thus prepared were employed as micro-reactors for the deposition of CuS. In this way, sev- eral CuS-P(NIPAM-co-AA) composite microspheres with different surface morphologies were prepared. It was dem- onstrated that the surface structures of the composite mi- crospheres can be tailored to a certain extent by varying the ratio of the two monomer units in the template (microgels) and/or the amount of CuS deposited. | 5 | High-Resolution Mesoscale Analysis Data from the South China Heavy Rainfall Experiment (SCHeREX): Data Generation and Quality Evaluation显示文摘In this study, the observational data acquired in the South China Heavy Rainfall Experiment (SCHeREX) from May to July 2008 and 2009 were integrated and assimilated with the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Local Analysis and Prediction System (LAPS; information available online at http://laps.fsl.noaa.gov). A high-resolution mesoscale analysis dataset was then generated at a spatial resolution of 5 km and a temporal resolution of 3 h in four observational areas: South China, Central China, Jianghuai area, and Yangtze River Delta area. The quality of this dataset was evaluated as follows. First, the dataset was qualitatively compared with radar reflectivity and TBB image for specific heavy rainfall events so as to examine its capability in reproduction of mesoscale systems. The results show that the SCHeREX analysis dataset has a strong capability in capturing severe mesoscale convective systems. Second, the mean deviation and root mean square error of the SCHeREX mesoscale analysis fields were analyzed and compared with radiosonde data. The results reveal that the errors of geopotential height, temperature, relative humidity, and wind of the SCHeREX analysis were within the acceptable range of observation errors. In particular, the average error was 45 m for geopotential height between 700 and 925 hPa, 1.0-1.1°C for temperature, less than 20% for relative humidity, 1.5-2.0 m s-1 for wind speed, and 20-25° for wind direction. | 6 | Overexpression of Sirt6 ameliorates sleep deprivation induced-cognitive impairment by modulating glutamatergic neuron function显示文摘Sleep benefits the restoration of energy metabolism and thereby suppo rts neuronal plasticity and cognitive behaviors.Sirt6 is a NAD+-dependent protein deacetylase that has been recognized as an essential regulator of energy metabolism because it modulates various transcriptional regulators and metabolic enzymes.The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of Sirt6 on cerebral function after chronic sleep deprivation(CSD).We assigned C57BL/6J mice to control or two CSD groups and subjected them to AAV2/9-CMV-EGFP or AAV2/9-CMV-Sirt6-EGFP infection in the prelimbic cortex(PrL).We then assessed cerebral functional connectivity(FC) using resting-state functional MRI,neuron/astrocyte metabolism using a metabolic kinetics analysis;dendritic spine densities using sparse-labeling;and miniature excitato ry postsynaptic currents(mEPSCs) and action potential(AP) firing rates using whole-cell patchclamp recordings.In addition,we evaluated cognition via a comprehensive set of behavioral tests.Compared with controls,Sirt6 was significantly decreased(P<0.05) in the PrL after CSD,accompanied by cognitive deficits and decreased FC between the PrL and accumbens nucleus,piriform cortex,motor co rtex,somatosensory co rtex,olfactory tubercle,insular cortex,and cerebellum.Sirt6 ove rexpression reve rsed CSD-induced cognitive impairment and reduced FC.Our analysis of metabolic kinetics using [1-13C] glucose and [2-13C] acetate showed that CSD reduced neuronal Glu4and GABA2synthesis,which could be fully restored via forced Sirt6 expression.Furthermore,Sirt6 ove rexpression reversed CSD-induced decreases in AP firing rates as well as the frequency and amplitude of mEPSCs in PrL pyramidal neurons.These data indicate that Sirt6 can improve cognitive impairment after CSD by regulating the PrL-associated FC network,neuronal glucose metabolism,and glutamatergic neurotransmission.Thus,Sirt6 activation may have potential as a novel strategy for treating sleep disorder-related diseases. | Jinpiao Zhu Chang Chen Zhen Li Xiaodong Liu Jingang He Ziyue Zhao Mengying He Binbin Nie Zili Liu Yingying Chen Kuanpin Su Xiang Li Juxiang Chen Hongbing Xiang Fuqiang Xu Kangguang Lin Zongze Zhang Jie Wang | 2023 | Neural Regeneration Research2023,18,11: | 1 |

| 14 | The relationship between treatment-induced hypertension and efficacy of anlotinib in recurrent or metastatic esophageal squamous cell carcinoma显示文摘Objective:In this post-hoc analysis,we evaluated anlotinib treatment-induced hypertension as a potential predictive factor of efficacy in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)patients.Methods:A total of 109 patients enrolled in the anlotinib group in a phase 2 trial were included.The tumor response was assessed by computed tomography at week 3,week 6,and then every 6 weeks until progressive disease was observed.The primary endpoint of the study was progression free survival(PFS).The secondary endpoints included overall survival(OS)and objective response rate(ORR).Results:In all patients,the median PFS was 3.02 months[95%confidence interval(CI):2.63–3.65 months]and the OS was 6.11 months(95%CI:4.40–7.79 months).The ORR was 7.34%(95%CI:3.22%–13.95%).A total of 59(54%)patients were diagnosed with treatment-induced hypertension(Group A),and the remaining patients(n=50,46%)were in Group B.Baseline prognostic factors were similar between the 2 groups.Patients in Group A had a longer PFS and OS and higher ORR.When stratifying patients using a previously known history of hypertension,treatment-induced hypertension was a predictor only for patients without previous hypertension,who had longer PFS[hazard ratio(HR):0.40,95%CI:0.24–0.68]and OS(HR:0.37,95%CI:0.21–0.67).Conclusions:We showed,for the first time,a correlation between treatment-induced hypertension and better prognoses in recurrent or metastatic ESCC patients treated with anlotinib,without a previously known history of hypertension.Treatment-induced hypertension may be a simple and low cost predictor for anlotinib antitumor efficacy in these patients,which may also reflect the intended target inhibition. | Yan Song Juxiang Xiao Wentao Fang Ping Lu Qingxia Fan Yongqian Shu Jifeng Feng Shu Zhang Yi Ba Yang Zhao Ying Liu Chunmei Bai Yuxian Bai Yong Tang Jie He Jing Huang | 2021 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,2: | 1 |
