| 1 | Mechanical Properties of Methane Hydrate-Bearing Interlayered Sediments显示文摘The complex distribution of gas hydrate in sediments makes understanding the mechanical properties of hydrate-bearing sediments a challenging task.The mechanical behaviors of hydrate-bearing interlayered sediments are still poorly known.A series of triaxial shearing tests were conducted to investigate the strength parameters and deformation properties of methane hydrate-bearing interlayered sediments at the effective pressure of 1 MPa.The results indicate that the stress-strain curves of hydrate-bearing interlayered sediments are significantly different from that of hydrate-bearing sediments.The peak strength,Young's modulus,initial yielding modulus,and failure mode are deeply affected by the methane hydrate distribution.The failure behaviors and mechanism of strain softening and hardening patterns of the interlayered specimens are more complicated than those of the integrated specimens.This study compares the different mechanical behaviors between integrated and interlayered specimens containing gas hydrate,which can serve as a reference for the prediction and analysis of the deformation behaviors of natural gas hydrate reservoirs. | DONG Lin LI Yanlong LIU Changling LIAO Hualin CHEN Guoqi CHEN Qiang LIU Lele HU Gaowei | 2019 | Journal of Ocean University of China2019,18,6: | 11 |
| 2 | Prehistoric agriculture development in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, southwest China: Archaeobotanical evidence显示文摘The origin, development and expansion of prehistoric agriculture in East Asia have been widely investigated over the past two decades using archaeobotanical analysis from excavated Neolithic and Bronze Age sites. Research on prehistoric agriculture has predominantly focused in the valleys of the Yellow River and the Yangtze River. Agricultural development during the Neolithic and Bronze Age periods in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau of southwest China, an important passageway for human migration into Southeast Asia, still remains unclear. In this paper, based on macrofossil and microfossil analysis and radiocarbon dating at the Shilinggang site, we investigate plant subsistence strategies in the Nujiang River valley during the Bronze Age period. Combined with previous archaeobotanical studies in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, we explore agricultural development processes in this area during the Neolithic and Bronze Age. Our results indicate that rice and foxtail millet were cultivated in Shilinggang around 2500 cal a BP. Three phases of prehistoric agricultural development in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau can be identified: rice cultivation from 4800–3900 cal a BP, mixed rice and millet crop(foxtail millet and broomcorn millet) cultivation from 3900–3400 cal a BP, and mixed rice, millet crop and wheat cultivation from 3400–2300 cal a BP. | 3 | Effects of grain boundary ternary alloy doping on corrosion resistance of(Ce,Pr,Nd)-Fe-B permanent magnets显示文摘To satisfy the application of different environments,grain boundary doping is commonly used in the preparation of sintered magnets to improve the coercivity and the corrosion resistance.In this paper,the alloys were prepared by mixing different ratios of the master alloy(Ce,Pr,Nd)-Fe-B and the sintering aid(Pr,Nd)-Al.The coercivity of sintered(Ce,Pr,Nd)-Fe-B magnet is substantially enhanced by doping 2 wt%of(Pr,Nd)-Al,while the maximum energy product decreases slightly.We systematically investigated the corrosion behavior and micro structure of the sintered magnets in order to determine the mechanism of the degradation.The sintered(Ce,Pr,Nd)-Fe-B magnets with 2 wt% of(Pr,Nd)-Al addition exhibit the decreasing corrosion rate compared with others,due to the distribution of intergranular phases.The electrode potential difference between the main phase and the RE-rich phase is reduced by the addition of Al,improving the potential and stability of RE-rich phase due to the higher electrode potential of Al than that of Nd,Pr or Ce.In addition,the element distribution of the magnets doped by(Pr,Nd)-Al indicates that the Al-rich shell formed at the marginal area of the Ce-rich phase improves its stability.Therefo re,intergranular adding te rnary(Pr,Nd)-Al alloy powders results in both high coe rcivity and good corrosion resistance synchronously. | Xin Wang Minggang Zhu Feng Xi Meiling Zhang Fei Liu Yingjian Guo Lele Zhang Guangrui Zhang Wei Li | 2021 | Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,8: | 6 |

| 5 | Effects of propofol on early and late cytokines in lipopolysaccharideinduced septic shock in rats显示文摘Objective:It has been reported that the intravenous anesthetic propofol(PPF)has anti-inflammatory effects in vitro and in patients.The purpose of this study was to investigate whether PPF has anti-inflammatory effects in lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced septic shock by inhibiting the induction of pro-inflammatory cytokinesinterleukin-6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and high mobility group box 1(HMGB1)in rats.Methods:Thirty six male Wistar rats were randomly assigned to one of three groups(control group,PPF+LPS group and LPS group;n=12 per group).Control group rats received a 0.9%NaCl solution(NS)by the tail vein.The PPF+ LPS group rats received PPF(10 mg/kg bolus,followed by infusion at 10 mg/(kg·h)through a femoral vein catheter)1 h before LPS(7.5 mg/kg)administration via the tail vein.The LPS group rats received injection of LPS(7.5 mg/kg)via the tail vein.Hemodynamic effects were recorded as well as mortality rates,and plasma cytokine concentrations(TNF-α,IL-6,HMGB1)were measured for the 24-h observation period.Results:The mean arterial pressure and heart rate of the PPF+LPS group were more stable than those of the LPS group.The mortality at 24 h after the administration of the LPS injection was much higher in the LPS group(58.3%)compared to the PPF+ LPS group(25.0%).Plasma concentrations of cytokines(IL-6 and TNF-α)and HMGB1 were significantly reduced in the PPF+LPS group compared to the LPS group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Pretreatment with PPF reduced the mortality rate of rats and attenuated the pro-inflammatory cytokine responses in an endotoxin shock model through an anti-inflammatory action inhibiting induction of HMGB1. | Sha Li Hongguang Bao Liu Han Lele Liu | 2010 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2010,24,5: | 4 |

| 8 | Inducible expression of Wnt7b promotes bone formation in aged mice and enhances fracture healing显示文摘There remain unmet clinical needs for safe and effective bone anabolic therapies to treat aging-related osteoporosis and to improve fracture healing in cases of nonunion or delayed union. Wnt signaling has emerged as a promising target pathway for developing novel bone anabolic drugs. Although neutralizing antibodies against the Wnt antagonist sclerostin have been tested,Wnt ligands themselves have not been fully explored as a potential therapy. Previous work has demonstrated Wnt7b as an endogenous ligand upregulated during osteoblast differentiation, and that Wnt7b overexpression potently stimulates bone accrual in the mouse. The earlier studies however did not address whether Wnt7b could promote bone formation when specifically applied to aged or fractured bones. Here we have developed a doxycycline-inducible strategy where Wnt7b is temporally induced in the bones of aged mice or during fracture healing. We report that forced expression of Wnt7b for 1 month starting at 15 months of age greatly stimulated trabecular and endosteal bone formation, resulting in a marked increase in bone mass. We further tested the effect of Wnt7b on bone healing in a murine closed femur fracture model. Induced expression of Wnt7b at the onset of fracture did not affect the initial cartilage formation but promoted mineralization of the subsequent bone callus. | 10 | Angel: a new large-scale machine learning system显示文摘Machine Learning(ML) techniques now are ubiquitous tools to extract structural information from data collections. With the increasing volume of data, large-scale ML applications require an efficient implementation to accelerate the performance. Existing systems parallelize algorithms through either data parallelism or model parallelism. But data parallelism cannot obtain good statistical efficiency due to the conflicting updates to parameters while the performance is damaged by global barriers in model parallel methods. In this paper, we propose a new system, named Angel, to facilitate the development of large-scale ML applications in production environment. By allowing concurrent updates to model across different groups and scheduling the updates in each group, Angel can achieve a good balance between hardware efficiency and statistical efficiency. Besides, Angel reduces the network latency by overlapping the parameter pulling and update computing and also utilizes the sparseness of data to avoid the pulling of unnecessary parameters. We also enhance the usability of Angel by providing a set of efficient tools to integrate with application pipelines and provisioning efficient fault tolerance mechanisms. | 11 | Effects of ZnCl2/H2O/C2H5OH Treatment on the Filter Paper Performance显示文摘Bleached softwood kraft pulp (BSKP) fibers were pretreated in a 5 mol/L NaOH aqueous solution at 35℃ for 90 min. The ZnCl2/H2O/ C2H5OH was used to treat the pretreated BSKP fibers, filter papers were then prepared. In the course of processing, the effects of various molar ratios of ZnCl2/H2O/C2H5OH on the filter paper performance were evaluated. SEMEDX was conducted to analyze the physical configuration of the filter papers. Moreover, FT-IR and XPS were performed to further characterize the BSKP, the pretreated BSKP and the filter paper fibers. The results indicated that the fibers treated by ZnCl2/H2O/C2H5OH were swollen and exhibited slight fibrillation, leading to a looser fiber structure and therefore, enhanced filter paper performance. Air permeability increased from 161.7 L/(m2·s) to 1450.4 L/(m2·s) for the filter papers when the molar ratio of ZnCl2/H2O/C2H5OH was 1:14:1. The optimum molar ratio of ZnCl2/H2O/C2H5OH was found to be 1:14:1, and no significant effect of ZnCl2/H2O/C2H5OH on fibers’ functional groups was detected. | 14 | A smart DNA nanodevice for ATP-activatable bioimaging and photodynamic therapy显示文摘Rational design of activatable photosensitizers for controlled generation of singlet oxygen remains a challenge for precise photodynamic therapy(PDT).Herein,we present an aptamer-based nanodevice for adenosine 5′-triphosphate(ATP)-activatable bioimaging and PDT.The nanodevice is constructed by modifying ATP-responsive duplex DNA units and polyethylene glycol on the surface of a gold nanoparticle(AuNP)through the thiolate-Au chemistry.The DNA units were designed by the hybridization of the ATP aptamer strand with a methylene blue(MB)-modified complementary DNA(cDNA).The close proximity of MB to the surface of AuNP results in the low photodynamic activity of MB(OFF state).Once internalized into cancer cells,the ATP-binding induced conformation switch of aptamer strand leads to the release of the MB-bearing DNA strand from AuNPs,resulting in the activatable generation of singlet oxygen under light irradiation(ON state).We demonstrate that the DNA nanodevice represents a promising platform for ATP-responsive bioimaging and specific PDT in vitro and in vivo.This work highlights a potential way for specific tumor diagnosis and therapy. | Bei Liu Rui Ma Jian Zhao Yuliang Zhao Lele Li | 2020 | Science China Chemistry2020,63,10: | 1 |

| 20 | Comprehensive characterization of CRC with germline mutations reveals a distinct somatic mutational landscape and elevated cancer risk in the Chinese population显示文摘Objective:Hereditary colorectal cancer(CRC)accounts for approximately 5%–10%of all CRC cases.The full profile of CRC-related germline mutations and the corresponding somatic mutational profile have not been fully determined in the Chinese population.Methods:We performed the first population study investigating the germline mutation status in more than 1,000(n=1,923)Chinese patients with CRC and examined their relationship with the somatic mutational landscape.Germline alterations were examined with a 58-gene next-generation sequencing panel,and somatic alterations were examined with a 605-gene panel.Results:A total of 92 pathogenic(P)mutations were identified in 85 patients,and 81 likely pathogenic(LP)germline mutations were identified in 62 patients,accounting for 7.6%(147/1,923)of all patients.MSH2 and APC was the most mutated gene in the Lynch syndrome and non-Lynch syndrome groups,respectively.Patients with P/LP mutations had a significantly higher ratio of microsatellite instability,highly deficient mismatch repair,family history of CRC,and lower age.The somatic mutational landscape revealed a significantly higher mutational frequency in the P group and a trend toward higher copy number variations in the non-P group.The Lynch syndrome group had a significantly higher mutational frequency and tumor mutational burden than the nonLynch syndrome group.Clustering analysis revealed that the Notch signaling pathway was uniquely clustered in the Lynch syndrome group,and the MAPK and cAMP signaling pathways were uniquely clustered in the non-Lynch syndrome group.Population risk analysis indicated that the overall odds ratio was 11.13(95%CI:8.289–15.44)for the P group and 20.68(95%CI:12.89–33.18)for the LP group.Conclusions:Distinct features were revealed in Chinese patients with CRC with germline mutations.The Notch signaling pathway was uniquely clustered in the Lynch syndrome group,and the MAPK and cAMP signaling pathways were uniquely clustered in the non-Lynch syndrome group.Patients with P/LP germline mutations exhibited higher CRC risk. | Jianfei Yao Yunhuan Zhen Jing Fan Yuan Gong Yumeng Ye Shaohua Guo Hongyi Liu Xiaoyun Li Guosheng Li Pan Yang Xiaohui Wang Danni Liu Tanxiao Huang Huiya Cao Peisu Suo Yuemin Li Jingbo Yu Lele Song | 2022 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2022,19,5: | 1 |
