1Zhangmu and Gyirong ports under the threat of glacial lake outburst flood显示文摘The Himalayas are prone to glacial lake outburst floods,which can pose a severe threat to downstream villages and infrastructure.The Zhangmu and Gyirong land treaty ports are located on the China-Nepal border in the central Himalayas.In recent years,the expansion of glacial lakes has increased the threat of these two port regions.This article describes the results of mapping the glacial lakes larger than 0.01 km^2 in the Zhangmu and Gyirong port regions and analyzes their change.It provides a comprehensive assessment of potentially dangerous glacial lakes and predicts the development of future glacial lakes.From 1988 to 2019,the glacial lakes in these port regions underwent'expansion',and moraine-dammed lakes show the most significant expansion trend.A total of eleven potentially dangerous glacial lakes are identified based on the assessment criteria and historical outburst events;most expanded by more than 150%from 1988 to 2019,with some by over 500%.The Cirenmaco,a moraine-dammed lake,is extremely prone to overtopping due to ice avalanches or the melting of dead ice in the dam.For other large lakes,such as the Jialongco,Gangxico and Galongco,ice avalanches may likely cause the lakes to burst besides self-destructive failure.The potential dangers of the Youmojianco glacial lakes,including lakes Nos.9,10 and 11,will increase in the future.In addition,the glacier-bed topography model predicts that 113 glacial lakes with a size larger than 0.01 km^2,a total area of 11.88 km2 and a total volume of 6.37×10^9 m^3 will form in the study area by the end of the 21 century.Due to global warming,the glacial lakes in the Zhangmu and Gyirong port regions will continue to grow in the short term,and hence the risk of glacial lake outburst floods will increase.MiaoMiao Qi ShiYin Liu YongPeng Gao 2020Research in Cold and Arid Regions2020,12,6:3
2Root-associated(rhizosphere and endosphere) microbiomes of the Miscanthus sinensis and their response to the heavy metal contamination显示文摘The plant root-associated microbiomes, including both the rhizosphere and the root endosphere microbial community, are considered as a critical extension of the plant genome. Comparing to the well-studied rhizosphere microbiome, the understanding of the root endophytic microbiome is still in its infancy. Miscanthus sinensis is a pioneering plant that could thrive on metal contaminated lands and holds the potential for phytoremediation applications. Characterizing its root-associated microbiome, especially the root endophytic microbiome, could provide pivotal knowledge for phytoremediation of mine tailings. In the current study, M. sinensis residing in two Pb/Zn tailings and one uncontaminated site were collected. The results demonstrated that the metal contaminant fractions exposed strong impacts on the microbial community structures. Their influences on the microbial community, however, gradually decreases from the bulk soil through the rhizosphere soil and finally to the endosphere, which resulting in distinct root endophytic microbial community structures compared to both the bulk and rhizosphere soil. Diverse members affiliated with the order Rhizobiales was identified as the core microbiome residing in the root of M. sinensis. In addition, enrichment of plant-growth promoting functions within the root endosphere were predicted, suggesting the root endophytes may provide critical services to the host plant. 3A new Lactobacillus gasseri strain HMV18 inhibits the growth of pathogenic bacteria显示文摘To search for a new eco-friendly therapy for infectious disease caused by Escherichia coli,Staphylococcus aureus or Klebsiella oxytoca,we collected the vaginal swabs from healthy women,screened for Lactobacillus and found a strain repressing the growth of pathogenic bacteria.The new isolate was identified as L.gasseri by the colony morphology,Gram staining,biochemical reactions and confirmed by the 16 S rDNA sequencing.The HMV18 strain inhibited the growth of food-borne pathogens such as E.coli,S.aureus and K.oxytoca.The HMV18 strain was sensitive to penicillin,ampicillin,erythromycin,tetracycline and chloramphenicol.The HMV18 strain producedα-hemolysis.Pathological histology of the mice ileum showed that the mucosa,villi,lamina propria and crypt depth remained intact and there was no inflammation or hyperemia in the L.gasseri HMV18 gavaged group.L.gasseri HMV18 could not up-regulate inflammatory cytokines level of plasma.All the results suggested L.gasseri HMV18 is a candidate probiotic to be an additive for food preservation or drug to prevent food-borne diseases.Xiang Gao Zixuan Wang Xiang Li Xiaoling Zhang Shengqiang Du Miaomiao Jia Dailun Hu Xianxian Jia Bin Cong Yan Zhang Chunling Ma Song Zhou Jun Zhang 2022Food Science and Human Wellness2022,11,2:3
4Mineralogical Characteristics of Exsolved Spinel in the Panzhihua V-Ti Magnetite Deposit, Sichuan: Implications for the Mineralization Process显示文摘Spinel exsolution is widespread in titanomagnetite from the Fe-Ti oxide gabbro of the Panzhihua intrusion, Emeishan Large Igneous Province, SW China. However, little research has been conducted into the implications of patterns in the mineralogical characteristics of the spinel for spatial variation in the controls on the exsolution mechanism and, hence, the formation process of the ore deposit. This study selected the Lanjiahuoshan Ore Block in the Panzhihua V-Ti magnetite deposit to explore this issue, systematically studying exsolution textures in the titanomagnetite through petrographic observation and the integrated use of in-situ microanalysis. The results show that the exsolved spinel gradually becomes finer-grained and less abundant from the center to edge and the bottom to top of the ore bodies. Compositionally, there is an inverse correlation between the size of exsolved spinel grains and their Mg# value. In addition, there is compositional zonation in the spinel interiors, with a gradual increase in the Mg content and decrease in Fe content from the core to the rim. The analysis suggests that fractional crystallization of ferrotitanium magma with a high oxygen fugacity in a shallow magma chamber caused compositional differences in the primary magnetite solid solution in different parts of the Panzhihua intrusion. Additionally, the thermal evolution of the magnetite solid solution differed in different parts of orebody, bringing about variations in spinel development. Together, these effects resulted in spatial variation in the abundance, grain size, and morphology of spinel in different parts of the orebody and intrusion that follows an identifiable distribution law. Furthermore, the compositional zonation of exsolved spinels reflects the rapid growth of exsolution features in a high-temperature environment. 6Review of the influencing factors of secondary organic aerosol formation and aging mechanism based on photochemical smog chamber simulation methods显示文摘The formation and aging mechanism of secondary organic aerosol(SOA)and its influencing factors have attracted increasing attention in recent years because of their effects on climate change,atmospheric quality and human health.However,there are still large errors between air quality model simulation results and field observations.The currently undetected components during the formation and aging of SOA due to the limitation of current monitoring techniques and the interactions among multiple SOA formation influencing factors might be the main reasons for the differences.In this paper,we present a detailed review of the complex dynamic physical and chemical processes and the corresponding influencing factors involved in SOA formation and aging.And all these results were mainly based the studies of photochemical smog chamber simulation.Although the properties of precursor volatile organic compounds(VOCs),oxidants(such as OH radicals),and atmospheric environmental factors(such as NOx,SO2,NH3,light intensity,temperature,humidity and seed aerosols)jointly influence the products and yield of SOA,the nucleation and vapor pressure of these products were found to be the most fundamental aspects when interpreting the dynamics of the SOA formation and aging process.The development of techniques for measuring intermediate species in SOA generation processes and the study of SOA generation and aging mechanism in complex systems should be important topics of future SOA research.Yujie Zhang Miaomiao Cheng Jian Gao Junling Li 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,1:2

9Effect of cluster needling at scalp acupoints on differential protein expression in rat brain tissue after acute focal cerebral ischemia显示文摘Objective:To explore the function of cluster needling at scalp points therapy on regulating differential protein's expression at different time points in middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO)model rats.Methods:Fifty-four rats were divided into three groups randomly and 18 rats in each group.The groups respectively were the model group(group M,n=18),cluster needling at scalp points group(group C,n=18),false operation group(group F,n=18).Each group was then assigned in three subgroups,including 24-h,7-day,and 14-day subgroups.Six rats in each subgroup.Acupuncture at Baihui(GV20)and 2 points beside Baihui,which was 3 e4 mm away from the midline.Longa score was used to evaluated neurological effects.Proteomics methods were used to identify differentially expression proteins with a standard of fold change greater than 1.5 and P<.05 at different times.Results:1.Nerve function scoring:The nerve function scores at 7 and 14 days decreased in group C,which showed better neural function than group M(P<.05).2.Fold change in proteins:Group M showed932 differentially expressed proteins compared with group F,and among them,414 proteins showed significant changes in expression after acupuncture.The expression levels of Cdc42 and GFAP were increased,and Mag,Shank2,and MBP levels were decreased.In the Gene Ontology analysis,the cellular component consisted of the terms cytoplasm,cytoskeleton,lysosome,and plasma membrane.The main related biological processes were cellecell signaling,protein transport,aging,and cell adhesion.Many synaptic and metabolic pathways were found by KEGG analysis.Conclusion:Cluster needling at scalp acupoints can improve the nerve function score and improve dyskinesia in MCAO model rats.Cluster needling at scalp acupoints can regulate the expression of 414 proteins,including Cdc42,GFAP,Mag,Shank2,and MBP,which are related to cerebral ischemia.The differential proteins are major concentration in cytoplasm,cytoskeleton,lysosomes,and plasma membrane,participate in cellecell signaling,protein transport,aging,and cell adhesion,and act through multiple synaptic and metabolic pathways to exert their biological functions.Xiaona Wu Jinxia Ni Huiyan An Yintong Gao Miaomiao Li Zhenzhen Huang Jingni Xu 2020Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2020,7,3:1

12Photonic Crystal-Enhanced Photodynamic Antibacterial Therapy显示文摘Photodynamic antibacterial therapy(PDAT)is a kind of rejuvenating strategy that combats bacterial infection due to its admirable characteristics of noninvasiveness and broad-spectrum antibacterial capability.However,the efficiency of PDAT can be greatly hindered by limited light irradiation.Herein,we propose an enhanced PDAT by employing photonic composite films(PCFs)via slow photon and multiple scattering effects.The PCFs are obtained by UV light-initiated polymerization of poly(ethylene glycol)phenyl ether acrylate with a self-assembled SiO_(2)colloidal particle array,followed by the deposition of photosensitizers(PSs).The PCFs can prompt the PSs with matched absorption,which are deposited on their surface,to sufficiently utilize the incident light and generate more reactive oxygen species based on the slow photon phenomenon of photonic crystals and multiple scattering effects of the SiO_(2)colloidal particles.This finding demonstrates the great potential and significance of PCFs in the field of PDAT,which may reduce the requirements of excitation equipment and avoid damage to normal tissues from exposure to huge light energy.Yujie Gao Xiaodong Chen Miaomiao Li Lianbin Zhang Jintao Zhu 2023CCS Chemistry2023,5,3:0

14Insight into leaching of rare earth and aluminum from ion adsorption type rare earth ore:Adsorption and desorption显示文摘Clay minerals are inferred to be the primary host materials for ion-exchangeable rare earth in ion adsorption type rare earth ore(IAREO).During the rare earth leaching process,the adsorption and desorption reactions of the cations controlling the leaching process continue to occur at the clay minerals-leaching agent solution interface.In order to understand the leaching mechanism and behavior of rare earth and co-leached aluminum,adsorption,competitive adsorption,and desorption experiments were carried out using kaolin as a typical clay mineral.The powerful electrostatic attraction and concentration driving forces facilitate the adsorption of cations.The adsorption ability and competitive adsorption ability of cations depend on their charge,hydration radius,and hydrolysis properties,and decrease in the order of La^(3+),Y^(3+),Al^(3+),Mg^(2+),and NH_(4)^(+).The desorption of rare earth and aluminum is positively affected by the concentration-driving force exerted by high concentrations of Mg^(2+) and NH_(4)^(+),with the order of the desorption ability being opposite to the adsorption ability.However,unspecified interactions between clay mineral particles enhanced by high-concentration desorbents,especially by Mg^(2+) than NH_(4)^(+),will adversely affect desorption reactions,which result in lower desorption efficiencies of rare earth and aluminum obtained with magnesium sulfate compared to those obtained with ammonium sulfate at high concentrations.Solid-phase Al(OH)_(3) generated at a high peak aluminum concentration leads to a considerably delayed aluminum efflux,thereby partially separating the rare earth from aluminum during the actual column leaching process.To advance the mining technology of IAREO by selectively improving the rare earth leaching efficiency with minimal leaching agent consumption,higher charged cations with concentrations limited to suitable levels should be preferred as leaching agents.Qiang He Jinfa Chen Limei Gan Menglan Gao Miaomiao Zan Yanfei Xiao 2023Journal of Rare Earths2023,41,9:0
158.30%Efficiency P3HT-based all-polymer solar cells enabled by a miscible polymer acceptor with high energy levels and efficient electron transport显示文摘P3HT stands out from numerous polymer donors owing to the merits of low cost and high scalability of synthesis.However,the photovoltaic performance of P3HT-based blends lags significantly behind the state-of-the-art systems,especially for all-polymer solar cells(APSCs) that generally show efficiency of around 3%–4% due to the lack of matched polymer acceptors.Herein,a polymer acceptor,named IDTBTC8-CN,was designed and synthesized with indacenodithiophene(IDT) and mono-cyano(CN)-substituted benzothiadiazole(BT-CN) as building blocks.Introducing a CN group endowed the polymer with decreased bandgap,and apparent n-type charge transport character despite the relatively high energy levels.Additionally,IDTBTC8-CN showed largely improved miscibility with P3HT,compared with that of BT-based control polymer IDTBTC8.The high miscibility between P3HT and IDTBTC8-CN as well as the amorphous aggregation behavior of IDTBTC8-CN enabled a broad manipulation room for the blend film to acquire favorable morphology.Eventually,a champion efficiency of 8.30% was achieved,in sharp contrast to that of the IDTBTC8-based system(1.21%).Such efficiency is a new record for P3HT-based APSCs reported so far.Moreover,P3HT:IDTBTC8-CN blend film also exhibited excellent mechanical robustness.This study implies the guidance of molecular design of the polymer acceptors and morphology control for P3HT-based APSCs.Ziqi Liang Jiangting He Bin Zhao Mengyuan Gao Yu Chen Long Ye Miaomiao Li Yanhou Geng 2023Science China Chemistry2023,66,1:0

17High T_(g) Polymer Insulator Yields Organic Photovoltaic Blends with Superior Thermal Stability at 150℃显示文摘Record-breaking organic solar cells(OSCs)based on blends of polymer donors and small molecule acceptors often show undesirable degradati on,which severely precludes their practical use.Herei n,we demonstrate a facile and cost-effective approach to con struct thermally stable OSCs at 150℃ by incorporating a small amount of a polymer insulator polyacenaphthylene(PAC)with high glass-transition temperature over 230℃ into polymer:acceptor blends.The model PTB7-Th:EH-IDTBR blend with 10 wt%PAC maintained above 85%of its initial efficiency upon continuous heating at 150℃ for over 800 h,while the efficiency of the blend without PAC sharply dropped by 70%after-300 h.Owing to high miscibility with acceptors,PAC confines the motion of the acceptor molecules and suppresses the acceptor crystallization at elevated temperatures,leading to significantly improved stability.Importantly,the effectiveness of this blending approach was also validated in many other OSC systems,showing great potential for achieving high-performance thermally stable electronics.Fei Chen Ying Zhang Qi Wang Mengyuan Gao Nigel Kirby Zhongxiang Peng Yunfeng Deng Miaomiao Li Long Ye 2021Chinese Journal of Chemistry2021,39,9:0

20Orthologous genesPm12andPm21from twowild relatives of wheat show evolutionary conservation but divergent powdery mildew resistance显示文摘Wheat powdery mildew,caused by Blumeria graminis f.sp.tritici(Bgt),is a devastating disease that threatens wheat production worldwide.Pm12,which originated from Aegilops speltoides,a wild relative of wheat,confers strong resistance to powdery mildew and therefore has potential use in wheat breeding.Using susceptible mutants induced by gamma irradiation,we physically mapped and isolated Pm12 and showed it to be orthologous to Pm21 from Dasypyrum villosum,also a wild relative of wheat.The resistance function of Pm12 was validated via ethyl methanesulfonatemutagenesis,virus-induced gene silencing,and stable genetic transformation.Evolutionary analysis indicates that the Pm12/Pm21 loci in wheat species are relatively conserved but dynamic.Here,we demonstrated that the two orthologous genes,Pm12 and Pm21,possess differential resistance against the same set of Bgt isolates.Overexpression of the coiledcoil domains of both PM12 and PM21 induces cell death in Nicotiana benthamiana leaves.However,their full-length forms display different cell death-inducing activities caused by their distinct intramolecular interactions.Cloning of Pm12 will facilitate its application in wheat breeding programs.This study also gives new insight into two orthologous resistance genes,Pm12 and Pm21,which show different race specificities and intramolecular interaction patterns.Shanying Zhu Cheng Liu Shuangjun Gong Zhaozhao Chen Rong Chen Tianlei Liu Renkang Liu Haonan Du Rui Guo Genying Li Miaomiao Li Renchun Fan Zhiyong Liu Qian-Hua Shen Anli Gao Pengtao Ma Huagang He 2023Plant Communications2023,4,2:0
