4Preliminary results pertaining to coseismic displacement and preseismic strain accumulation of the Lushan M_S7.0 earthquake,as reflected by GPS surveying显示文摘This paper presents the coseismic displacement and preseismic deformation fields of the Lushan MS7.0 earthquake that occurred on April 20,2013.The results are based on GPS observations along the Longmenshan fault and within its vicinity.The coseismic displacement and preseismic GPS results indicate that in the strain release of this earthquake,the thrust rupture is dominant and the laevorotation movement is secondary.Furthermore,we infer that any possible the rupture does not reach the earth’s surface,and the seismogenic fault is most likely one fault to the east of the Guanxian-Anxian fault.Some detailed results are obtainable.(1)The southern segment of the Longmenshan fault is locked preceding the Lushan earthquake.After the Wenchuan earthquake,the strain accumulation rate in the southeast direction accelerates in the epicenter of the Lushan earthquake,and the angle between the principal compressional strain and the seismogenic fault indicates that a sinistral deformation background in the direction of the seismogenic fault precedes the Lushan earthquake.Therefore,it is evident that the Wenchuan MS8.0 earthquake accelerated the pregnancy of the Lushan earthquake.(2)The coseismic displacements reflected by GPS data are mainly located in a region that is 230 km(NW direction)×100 km(SW direction),and coseismic displacements larger than 10 mm lie predominantly in a100-km region(NW direction).(3)On a large scale,the coseismic displacement shows thrust characteristics,but the associated values are remarkably small in the near field(within 70 km)of the earthquake fault.Meanwhile,the thrust movement in this70-km region does not correspond with the attenuation characteristics of the strain release,indicating that the rupture of this earthquake does not reach the earth’s surface.(4)The laevorotation movements are remarkable in the 50-km region,which is located in the hanging wall that is close to the earthquake fault,and the corresponding values in this case correlate with the attenuation characteristics of the strain release.WU YanQiang JIANG ZaiSen WANG Min CHE Shi LIAO Hua LI Qiang LI Peng YANG YongLin XIANG HePing SHAO ZhiGang WANG WuXing WEI WenXin LIU XiaoXia 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,28:33
5Magnetic resonance diffusion tensor imaging following major ozonated autohemotherapy for treatment of acute cerebral infarction显示文摘Major ozonated autohemotherapy has been shown to promote recovery of upper limb motor function in patients with acute cerebral infarction,but whether major ozonated autohemotherapy affects remote injury remains poorly understood.Here,we assumed that major ozonated autohemotherapy contributes to recovery of clinical function,possibly by reducing remote injury after acute cerebral infarction.Sixty acute cerebral infarction patients aged 30–80 years were equally and randomly allocated to ozone treatment and control groups.Patients in the ozone treatment group received medical treatment and major ozonated autohemotherapy(47 mg/L,100 m L ozone) for 10 ± 2 days.Patients in the control group received medical treatment only.National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score,modified Rankin scale score,and reduced degree of fractional anisotropy values of brain magnetic resonance diffusion tensor imaging were remarkably decreased,brain function improved,clinical efficiency significantly increased,and no obvious adverse reactions detected in the ozone treatment group compared with the control group.These findings suggest that major ozonated autohemotherapy promotes recovery of neurological function in acute cerebral infarction patients by reducing remote injury,and additionally,exhibits high safety.Xiao-na Wu Tao Zhang Jun Wang Xiao-yan Liu Zhen-sheng Li Wei Xiang Wei-qing Du Hong-jun Yang Tie-gen Xiong Wen-ting Deng Kai-run Peng Su-yue Pan 2016Neural Regeneration Research2016,11,7:32

9Clinical value of preoperative methylated septin 9 in Chinese colorectal cancer patients显示文摘BACKGROUND The methylated septin 9(mSEPT9) assay was the first blood-based test approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration as a colorectal screening test.However, the diagnostic and prognostic role of preoperative mSEPT9 for colorectal cancer(CRC) in Chinese patients is still unknown.AIM To improve the understanding of diagnostic and prognostic factors, serum m SEPT9 was detected in Chinese CRC patients.METHODS A retrospective analysis of 354 cases, of which 300 had CRC and 54 were normal,was performed in China. Patients' characteristics, treatments, and laboratory data, including age, the date of surgery, Union for International Cancer Control(UICC) stages, distant metastasis(M), and so on, were collected. Methylation levels of SEPT9 were quantified by quantitative, methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction before surgery. In addition, the effects of mSEPT9 on the occurrence and prognosis of 330 CRC cases from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA) database were evaluated using bioinformatics analyses. Potential prognostic factors for overall survival(OS) and progression-free survival(PFS)were evaluated by Kaplan-Meier univariate analysis.RESULTSIn Chinese CRC patients, positive mSEPT9 was strongly associated with advanced UICC stages, deeper invasion by the primary tumor, and more distant metastasis. Methylation levels of SEPT9 were stage-dependent and showed a stepwise increase in UICC stages(I–IV), primary tumor categories(T1–T4),regional node categories(N0–N2), and distant metastasis categories(M0–M1).The patients with positive mSEPT9 showed a tendency toward lower PFS. After analyzing TCGA clinical data, the high mSEPT9 group was found to be obviously correlated only with more distant metastasis. The patients with high mSEPT9 levels showed a tendency toward lower OS. Besides, nine meaningful mSEPT9 sites were found to provide guidance for the follow-up studies.CONCLUSION MSEPT9 analysis may add valuable information to current tumor staging. 10A simple taurocholate-induced model of severe acute pancreatitis in rats显示文摘AIM: To investigate gut barrier damage and intestinal bacteria translocation in severe acute pancreatitis (SAP), a simple rat model of SAP was induced and studied.METHODS: Pancreatitis was induced by uniformly distributed injection of 3.8% Na taurocholate (1 mL/kg) beneath the pancreatic capsule. Rats in the control group were injected with normal saline in the identical location. RESULTS: Serum amylase, plasma endotoxin, intestinal permeability, and pancreatitis pathology scores were all markedly higher in the pancreatitis group than in the control group (P < 0.01). The bacterial infection rate was signif icantly higher in the SAP group than in the control group (P < 0.01), observed in parallel by both bacterial culture and real-time polymerase chain reaction. Acute damage of the pancreas was observed histologically in SAP rats, showing interstitial edema, leukocyte infiltration, acinar cell necrosis and hemorrhage. The microstructure of the intestinal mucosa of SAP ratsappeared to be destroyed with loose, shortened microvilli and rupture of the intercellular junction, as shown by electron microscopy. 13Pediatric reference intervals in China(PRINCE):design and rationale for a large,multicenter collaborative cross-sectional study显示文摘There is a lack of accurate pediatric reference intervals(RIs) in China, with most commonly used RIs established without consideration of the effect of age and gender. The Pediatric Reference Intervals in China(PRINCE) project aims to establish and verify pediatric RIs for 31 common laboratory measurands.The project will be a large, multicenter cross-sectional study:14,490 healthy children and adolescents aged up to 19 years will be surveyed by 10 children's hospitals and one pediatric department of a university hospital. To evaluate the feasibility and efficiency of the study methods, 602 children were surveyed in the pilot phase of the PRINCE study in April 2017: it found that some measurands were distinctly age dependent and that there were differences between values for males and females. The results of the pilot study affirmed the necessity of the PRINCE project for Chinese pediatrics. The pilot also indicated potential difficulties in the full survey, e.g., difficulties in recruiting children aged under 3 years and insufficient collection of blood samples from infants. 15Neurons-system-like structured SnS_(2)/CNTs composite for high-performance sodium-ion battery anode显示文摘Sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)have attracted significant attention with respect to renewable energy power generation systems because of the abundant reserves of sodium on earth.However,anode materials are presently limited by low energy density,poor rate performance and inferior cycling stability.In recent years,tin disulfide(SnS_(2))with a particular layered structure has been considered as a promising anode material for SIBs due to its high theoretical capacity and low cost.Herein,a nervoussystem-like structured SnS_(2)/CNTs composite was successfully synthesized via a hydrothermal method.The SnS_(2)sheets were strung with carbon nanotubes(CNTs)to form a hierarchical porous structure,which is effective for electrolyte diffusion and electronic transmission.The large distance of the(001)plane(0.5899 nm)of SnS_(2)favors Na+insertion-extraction dynamics.Benefitting from these structural characteristics,SnS_(2)/CNTs electrodes exhibit high specific capacity,excellent rate performance and superior cycling stability.A high charge capacity of 642 mAh·g^(-1)was released at 0.2 A·g^(-1),and then,a high reversible capacity of 427 mAh·g^(-1)was retained after 100 cycles.Even charged at 2 A·g^(-1),the SnS_(2)/CNTS electrode maintained a capacity of 282 mAh·g^(-1).The nervous-system-like structure of the SnS_(2)/CNTs composite provides a novel strategy for the development of SIBs with high electrochemical performance.Ling Zhu Xue-Xian Yang Yan-Hong Xiang Peng Kong Xian-Wen Wu 2021Rare Metals2021,40,6:9
16Involvement of midgastric transverse band in gastric empting delay of functional dyspepsia显示文摘Background Midgastric transverse band (MTB) was first observed over 100 years ago, after that many researchers worked on the subject postulated its physiologic role and the role in gastrointestinal diseases, but its function remains unclear. With progress of imaging methods, the nature of MTB is unveiling. In this study we investigated the effect of MTB on the gastric empting delay in functional dyspepsia (FD) and explored the mechanism. Methods A total of 60 patients with FD and 65 age- and sex-matched healthy people who served as controls were studied. With 99mTc-DTPA labeled semi-solid fat-parched flour served as test meal, gastric empting was examined in all subjects by using single photon emission computed tomography. Test meal was designated as general (60 g fat-parched flour) or large (80 g fat-parched flour) meal. Stomach was divided into proximal and distal parts by MTB. Half gastric empting time, areas of different gastric parts, intragastric food distribution and MTB width were tested with in given times. Results Patients with FD showed a delayed gastric empting and increased intragastric residue. Global and regional gastric empting velocity was decreased. The areas of distal stomach and MTB were significantly greater in the FD patients than in the controls. Throughout the whole test period a distal stomach-dominated food distribution was shown. Those who took a large meal had longer half gastric empting time and greater MTB area than those who took a general meal. Conclusions Gastric empting delay is related to enlarged MTB area. Some dyspeptic symptoms may be induced by abnormal distribution and increased retention of food in distal stomach. 17Polymorphisms of three gene-derived STS on pig chromosome 13q41 are associated with susceptibility to enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli F4ab/ac in pigs显示文摘Neonatal diarrhea caused by enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli(ETEC)F4 is a common and serious disease,resulting in significant economical loss in the pig industry.The locus encoding ETEC F4 receptor has been mapped to pig chromosome(SSC)13q41,and one of the most significantly linked markers is S0075.In this study,we selected three genes including SLC12A8,MYLK and KPNA1 from a chromosomal region flanking S0075 on SSC13 to develop pig specific sequence tagged sites(STS). Seven single nucleotide polymorphisms were identified in the three pig STS using DNA of four full-sib susceptible and resistant animals in a White Duroc×Erhualian intercross.All grandparents,parents and 755 offspring in the intercross were genotyped for three polymorphisms,including SLC12A8 g.159A>G,MYLK g.1673A>G and KPNA1 g.306A>G.Family-based transmission disequilibrium test(TDT) revealed that all polymorphisms and the corresponding haplotypes are significantly associated with ETEC F4ab/ac(especially F4ac)brush border adhesion phenotypes,indicating that these polymor- phism are in linkage disequlibrium with causal mutation(s)of the gene encoding ETEC F4ab/ac receptor. 19Blunted nitric oxide regulation in Tibetans under high-altitude hypoxia显示文摘Nitric oxide(NO) is an important molecule for vasomotor tone, and elevated NO signaling was previously hypothesized as a unique and adaptive physiological change in highland Tibetans. However, there has been lack of NO data from Tibetans living at low altitude and lowlander immigrants living at high altitude, which is crucial to test this hypothesis. Here, through cross-altitude(1990–5018 m) and cross-population(Tibetans and Han Chinese) analyses of serum NO metabolites(NOx) of 2086 individuals, we demonstrate that although Tibetans have a higher serum NOx level compared to lowlanders, Han Chinese immigrants living at high altitude show an even higher level than Tibetans. Consequently, our data contradict the previous proposal of increased NO signaling as the unique adaptive strategy in Tibetans.Instead, Tibetans have a relatively lower circulating NOx level at high altitude. This observation is further supported by data from the hypoxic experiments using human umbilical vein endothelial cells and gene knockout mice. No difference is detected between Tibetans and Han Chinese for endothelial nitric oxide synthase(e NOS), the key enzyme for circulating NO synthesis, suggesting that e NOS itself is unlikely to be the cause. We show that other NO synthesis-related genes(e.g. GCH1) carry Tibetan-enriched mutations significantly associated with the level of circulating NOx in Tibetans. 20Symptoms of long-term exposure to moxa smoke in acupuncturists: a correlation analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of long-term exposure to moxa smoke on acupuncturists and to consider the association between physical symptoms and gender, age, secondhand smoke(SHS) exposure, and the duration of exposure.METHODS: A self-report, web-based questionnaire was used to evaluate the effects of moxa smoke onacupuncturists. Logistic regression was used to analyze the relationship between physical symptoms and possible correlative factors.RESULTS: A total of 858 questionnaires were analyzed. The data showed that 42.42% of acupuncturists had been exposed to moxa smoke for 5-10 years. The most frequent symptom was tearing(32.98%) and the least frequent symptom was asthma(5.24%). Logistic regression analysis showed that female acupuncturists were slightly more susceptible to cough and tearing than males(cough:OR: 1.583, 95% CI: 1.079, 2.321, P = 0.019; tearing:OR: 1.519, 95% CI: 1.094, 2.108, P = 0.013). Acupuncturists aged over 25 years reported a slightly lower incidence of eye itchiness than those aged under25 years(26-40 years: OR: 0.604, 95% CI: 0.379,0.965, P = 0.035; over 40 years: OR: 0.330, 95% CI:0.114, 0.958, P = 0.042). Ophthalmodynia occurred less in acupuncturists aged 26-40 years(OR: 0.591,95% CI: 0.359, 0.970, P = 0.038) than in those younger than 25 years. The only association between prevalence of symptoms and tobacco use and SHS exposure was that smokers had a lower occurrence of phlegm in the throat(OR: 0.579, 95% CI: 0.392,0.856, P = 0.006). Shortness of breath was less frequent in participants exposed to moxa smoke for more than 5 years(5-10 years: OR: 0.400, 95% CI:0.204, 0.785, P = 0.008; 11-20 years: OR: 0.392, 95%CI: 0.178, 0.864, P = 0.02), but a slightly higher incidence of eye itchiness was found in those with over20 years of moxa exposure(OR: 4.200, 95% CI:1.344, 3.128, P = 0.014).CONCLUSION: The most frequent symptom of moxa smoke exposure in acupuncturists was tear-ing.
