| 1 | The Qitai radio telescope显示文摘This study presents a general outline of the Qitai radio telescope(QTT)project.Qitai,the site of the telescope,is a county of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China,located in the east Tianshan Mountains at an elevation of about 1800 m.The QTT is a fully steerable,Gregorian-type telescope with a standard parabolic main reflector of 110 m diameter.The QTT has adopted an umbrella support,homology-symmetric lightweight design.The main reflector is active so that the deformation caused by gravity can be corrected.The structural design aims to ultimately allow high-sensitivity observations from 150 MHz up to115 GHz.To satisfy the requirements for early scientific goals,the QTTwill be equipped with ultra-wideband receivers and large field-of-view multi-beam receivers.A multi-function signal-processing system based on RFSo C and GPU processor chips will be developed.These will enable the QTT to operate in pulsar,spectral line,continuum and Very Long Baseline Interferometer(VLBI)observing modes.Electromagnetic compatibility(EMC)and radio frequency interference(RFI)control techniques are adopted throughout the system design.The QTT will form a world-class observational platform for the detection of lowfrequency(nano Hertz)gravitational waves through pulsar timing array(PTA)techniques,pulsar surveys,the discovery of binary black-hole systems,and exploring dark matter and the origin of life in the universe.The QTT will also play an important role in improving the Chinese and international VLBI networks,allowing high-sensitivity and high-resolution observations of the nuclei of distant galaxies and gravitational lensing systems.Deep astrometric observations will also contribute to improving the accuracy of the celestial reference frame.Potentially,the QTT will be able to support future space activities such as planetary exploration in the solar system and to contribute to the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. | Na Wang Qian Xu Jun Ma Zhiyong Liu Qi Liu Hailong Zhang Xin Pei Maozheng Chen Richard N.Manchester Kejia Lee Xingwu Zheng Hans J.Kärcher Wulin Zhao Hongwei Li Dongwei Li Martin Süss Matthias Reichert Zhongyi Zhu Congsi Wang Mingshuai Li Rui Li Ning Li Guljaina Kazezkhan Wenming Yan Gang Wu Lang Cui Ming Zhang Haitao Li | 2023 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,8: | 14 |

| 3 | Effects of Jian Pi Qu Shi Formula on intestinal bacterial flora in patients with idiopathic membranous nephropathy:A prospective randomized controlled trial显示文摘Background:The incidence of idiopathic nlembranous nephropathy(IMN)has recently increased remarkably.Immune dysfunction caused by disordered intestinal flora might be an important factor affecting IMN.The Jian Pi Qu Shi Formula(JPQSF)shows promise in treating IMN.Here,we sequenced 16S rRNA genes to compare intestinal flora between patients with IMN and healthy persons.We also conducted a randomized controlled clinical trial to further compare the intestinal flora of patients with IMN treated with traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)and western medicine(WM).Methods:Among 40 patie nls with IMN treated at Department of Nephrology in Xiyuan Hospital,Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine between July 2016 and December 2018,we compared 30 of them with 10 healthy persons(controls).The IMN group was randomly assigned to receive JPQSF(TCM)or immunosuppressant WM therapy in(n=15 per group)for 6 months.Intestinal microbiota diversity was analyzed using alpha diversity and beta diversity.Intestinal flora that significantly differed between the groups was analyzed using MetaStat.The effects and safety of the therapies were determined based on the values for plasma albumin,24-h urine protein excretion,serum creatinine,urea nitrogen,estimate glomerular filtration rate(eGFR),complete blood count,and liver enzymes.All data were statistically analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences(SPSS)20.0 statistical software.Results:Baseline characteristics did not significanlly differ between the IMN and healthy groups,or the TCM and WM groups.After six months of treatment,24-h urinary protein significantly declined in the TCM and WM groups(before and after treatment:3.24±1.74 vs.1.73±1.85 g,P<0.05 and 3.94±1.05 vs.1.91±1.18 g,P<0.05,respectively).Plasma albumin was significantly increased in the TCM group(before vs.after treatment:32.44±9.04 vs.39.99±7.03 g/L,P<0.05),but did not significantly change in the WM group(31.55±4.23 vs.34.83±9」4 g/L,P>0.05).Values for urea nitrogen,serum creatinine,and eGFR did not significanlly change in either group.The alpha diversity index for intestinal flora differed between the IMN and healthy groups,and the TCM and WM groups.Comparisons of multiple samples(beta diversity)revealed differences in intestinal flora between the IMN and healthy groups,and the TCM and WM groups.The Metastat analysis findings showed that the main genera that differed between the IMN group before treatment and the healthy group were Christensenellaceae_R-7_group,Bifidobacterium(77),Dorea,Escherichia-Shigella,Parabacteroides,Bifidobacterium,and Coprococcus_3.AfterTCM therapy,the main differential genera were Butyricimonas,Bacteroides,Alistipes,and Lachnospira,and after WM therapy,these were Ruminococcus_2,Lachnospiraceae_ND3007_group,Lachnospira,Bifidobacterium,Alistipes,and[Eubacterium]_ventriosum_group.Conclusion:Patients with IMN might have disordered intestinal flora,and JPQSF can regulate intestinal flora in patienls with IMN. | Rui Lang Xin-Hui Wang Ai-Feng Li Ying Liang Bao-Chen Zhu Bin Shi Yong-Qiu Zheng Ren-Huan Yu | 2020 | Chronic Diseases and Translational Medicine2020,6,2: | 8 |

Germination rates induced by cotton root extracts were the highest followed by stem extracts then leaf extracts. Cotton seedlings at the six-leaf stage induced higher germination than seedling at the two-and four-leaf stage, in all five cotton cultivars and their parents. In the field, the highest concentration of cotton root extracts gave the highest germination rate of O. cumana, and the lowest concentration of cotton root extracts gave the lowest germination rate. Methanol extracts of cotton rhizosphere soil gave the highest germination of O. cumana. In general,the root, stem and leaf extracts were more active at the sixleaf stage than other seedling stages. In conclusion,extracts of cotton rhizosphere soil and tissues have high activity in the seedling stage. | 9 | Utilizing modified ubi1 introns to enhance exogenous gene expression in maize(Zea mays L.) and rice(Oryza sativa L.)显示文摘The phenomenon of intron-mediated enhancement(IME) was discovered in 1990 based on the observation that plant introns can stimulate gene expression,particularly in monocots.However,the intrinsic mechanism of IME remains unclear because many studies have yielded various results depending on the promoter,reporter gene,flanking sequences of the intron,and target cell or tissue.In this study,the effect of the first intron of the maize ubiquitin gene(ubi1 intron) was investigated by changing insertion sites,deleting specific regions and mutating individual motifs in maize(Zea mays L.)and rice(Oryza sativa L.) using ubi1 intron-containing GUS(β-glucuronidase) constructs.In maize callus,the integration of the full-length ubi1 intron into the GUS coding sequence at the +13,+115 and +513 positions by particle bombardment increased GUS activity approximately five-,four- and two-fold,respectively.Eight truncated ubi1 introns in the pSG(13i)N construct significantly influenced GUS gene expression to different degrees in transient assays.Notably,the 3' region deletions significantly reduced the IME effect,whereas a 142-nt deletion,pSG(13i-P5)N,in the 5' region caused a 1.5-fold enhancement relative to pSG(13i)N.Furthermore,four site-directed mutageneses were performed in pSG(13i-P5)N;these constructs resulted in the up-regulation of GUS gene expression to different levels.The most effective modified ubi1 intron,pSG(13i-M4)N,was further evaluated and proved in rice using transient experiments.In addition,the sequences flanking the GUS insertion significantly influenced the IME effect of the vectors that were constructed.The modified ubi1 intron had the potential application on crop genetic engineering. | PAN Yang-yang CHEN Rui ZHU Li WANG Hai HUANG Da-fang LANG Zhi-hong | 2016 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2016,15,8: | 1 |

| 11 | InvasionDB: A genome and gene database of invasive alien species显示文摘Invasive alien species(IAS) are species whose introduction to areas outside of their native range cause harm to economics, biodiversity, and the environment. Understanding the genetic basis of invasiveness is critical for preventing invasion by an alien species and managing IAS with eco-friendly control methods. In addition, uncovering the genomic features of IAS is essential for accurately predicting invasiveness. However, even though increasing efforts have been devoted to sequencing the genomes of IAS, there is still not an integrated genome database for the invasive biology community. Here, we first determined a list of invasive plants and animals by mining references and databases. Then, we retrieved the genomic and gene data of these IAS, and constructed a database, Invasion DB. Invasion DB encompasses 131 IAS genomes, 76 annotated IAS assemblies, and links these data to conventional functions such as searching for gene coding sequences and Pfam, KEGG, NR annotations, BLAST server, JBrowse, and downloads services. Next, we analyzed 19 invasivenessrelated gene families which confer invasiveness in insects. To study the roles of noncoding RNA in invasiveness, we also annotated 135 494 mi RNAs, 89 294 r RNAs, and 2 671 941 t RNAs from these IAS. | 17 | HLA-B-associated transcript 3 (Bat3) stabilizes and activates p53 in a HAUSP-dependent manner显示文摘The p53 pathway is a highly complex signaling network including several key regulators.HAUSP is a critical component of the p53 pathway acting as a deubiquitinase for both p53 and its key repressor Mdm2.Here,we identified a novel HAUSP-interacting protein,HLA-B-associated transcript 3(Bat3)and found it to be capable of inducing p53 stabilization and activation via a HAUSP-dependent mechanism,resulting in cell growth inhibition.Surprisingly,the deubiquitylating enzymatic activity of HAUSP was not required for this phenomenon.Co-immunoprecipitation showed that p53 coexisted in a complex with Bat3 and HAUSP in vivo,and HAUSP may serve as a binding mediator to enhance the interaction between p53 and Bat3.Further studies revealed that formation of this three-protein complex interfered with the binding of p53 to its proteasome receptor S5a and promoted the accumulation of p53 in nucleus.Notably,Mdm2 protein abundance is also regulated by Bat3 in the presence of HAUSP.Overexpression of Bat3 and HAUSP increases Mdm2 protein levels without influencing the p53–Mdm2 interaction and Mdm2-mediated p53 ubiquitination,indicating that Bat3–HAUSP-mediated protein stabilization is not specific to p53 and different mechanisms may be involved in Bat3-mediated regulation of p53–Mdm2 pathway.Together,our study unravels a novel mechanism by which p53 is stabilized and activated by HAUSP-mediated interaction with Bat3 and implies that Bat3 might function as a tumor suppressor through the stabilization of p53. | Rui Zhang Di Cui TengXue Yue Lang Yunfan Zhang Lianjie Li Haili Sun Yu Kuang Gebin Li Jun Tang | 2020 | Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2020,12,2: | 0 |
