| 3 | Leap Motion-based virtual reality training for improving motor functional recovery of upper limbs and neural reorganization in subacute stroke patients显示文摘Virtual reality is nowadays used to facilitate motor recovery in stroke patients. Most virtual reality studies have involved chronic stroke patients; however, brain plasticity remains good in acute and subacute patients. Most virtual reality systems are only applicable to the proximal upper limbs(arms) because of the limitations of their capture systems. Nevertheless, the functional recovery of an affected hand is most difficult in the case of hemiparesis rehabilitation after a stroke. The recently developed Leap Motion controller can track the fine movements of both hands and fingers. Therefore, the present study explored the effects of a Leap Motion-based virtual reality system on subacute stroke. Twenty-six subacute stroke patients were assigned to an experimental group that received virtual reality training along with conventional occupational rehabilitation, and a control group that only received conventional rehabilitation. The Wolf motor function test(WMFT) was used to assess the motor function of the affected upper limb; functional magnetic resonance imaging was used to measure the cortical activation. After four weeks of treatment, the motor functions of the affected upper limbs were significantly improved in all the patients, with the improvement in the experimental group being significantly better than in the control group. The action performance time in the WMFT significantly decreased in the experimental group. Furthermore, the activation intensity and the laterality index of the contralateral primary sensorimotor cortex increased in both the experimental and control groups. These results confirmed that Leap Motion-based virtual reality training was a promising and feasible supplementary rehabilitation intervention, could facilitate the recovery of motor functions in subacute stroke patients. | 4 | Metal chlorides loaded on activated carbon to capture elemental mercury显示文摘Activated carbon (AC) was considered to be an effective sorbent to control mercury in combustion systems. However, its capture capacity was low and it required a high carbon-to-mercury mass ratio. AC loaded with catalyst showed a high elemental mercury (Hg 0 ) capture capacity due to large surface area of AC and high oxidization ability of catalyst. In this study, several metal chlorides and metal oxides were used to promote the sorption capacity of AC. As a result, metal chlorides were better than metal oxides loaded on AC to remove gaseous mercury. X-ray diffractometer (XRD), thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) and specific surface area by Brunauer- Emmett-Teller method (BET) analysis showed the main mechanisms: first, AC had an enormous surface area for loading enough MClx; second, Cl and MxOy were generated during pyrogenation of MClx; finally, there were lots of active elements such as Cl and MxOy which could react with elemental mercury and convert it to mercury oxide and mercury chloride. The HgO and HgCl 2 might be released from AC's porous structure by thermo regeneration. A catalytic chemisorption mechanism predominates the sorption process of elemental mercury. As Co and Mn were valence variable metal elements, their catalytic effect on Hg 0 oxidization may accelerate both oxidation and halogenation of Hg 0 . | 6 | Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. | 8 | Stable knockdown of heparanase expression in gastric cancer cells in vitro显示文摘AIM:To develop short hairpin RNA(shRNA)against heparanase,and to determine its effects on heparanase expression and the malignant characteristics of gastric cancer cells. METHODS:Heparanase-specific shRNA was constructed and transferred into cultured the gastric cancer cell line SGC-7901.Stable subclonal cells were screened by G418 selection.Heparanase expression was measured by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR),real-time quantitative PCR and Western blotting.Cell proliferation was detected by 2-(4,5-dimethyltriazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide(MTT)colorimetry and colony formation assay. The in vitro invasiveness and metastasis of cancer cells were measured by cell adhesion assay,wound healingassay and matrigel invasion assay.The angiogenesis capabilities of cancer cells were measured by tube formation of endothelial cells. RESULTS:Stable transfection of heparanase-specific shRNA,but not of scrambled shRNA and mock vector,resulted in reduced mRNA and protein levels of heparanase.The shRNA-mediated knockdown of heparanase did not affect the cellular proliferation of SGC-7901 cells.However,the in vitro invasiveness and metastasis of cancer cells were decreased after knockdown of heparanase.Moreover,transfection of heparanase-specific shRNA decreased the in vitro angiogenesis capabilities of SGC-7901 cells. | 10 | Content analysis of systematic reviews on effectiveness ofTraditional Chinese Medicine显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate evidence for the efficacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) in systematic reviews.METHODS:Chinese(TCM Periodical Literature Database,Chinese Biological Medicine database,Chinese Medical Current Contents,China Hospital Knowledge Database journal fulltext database,Virtual Machining and Inspection System,and Wanfang) and English(Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews,PubMed and Embase) databases were searched.RESULTS:Three thousand,nine hundred and fifty-five articles were initially identified,606 of which met the inclusion criteria,including 251 in English(83 from the Cochrane Database) and 355 in Chinese.The number of articles published each year increased between 1989 and 2009.Cardiocerebrovascular disease was the most studied target disease.Intervention measures included TCM preparations(177 articles),acupuncture(133 articles) and combinations of TCM and Western Medicine(38 articles).Control measures included positive medical(177 articles),basic treatment(100 articles),placebo(219 articles),and blank and mutual(107 articles).All articles included at least one reference;the greatest number was 268.Six of 10 articles with high quality references demonstrated curative effectsagainst target diseases including upper respiratory tract infection,dementia and depression.Interventions that were not recommended were tripterygium for rheumatoid arthritis and TCM syndrome differentiation for pediatric nocturia.In 10.4% of the studies,the authors concluded that the intervention had a curative effect.The assessors agreed with the authors' conclusions in 88.32% of cases,but rejected 8.94%(54 articles).CONCLUSION:1) Training in systematic review methods,including topic selection,study design,methods and technology,should be improved.2) Upper respiratory tract infection,dementia and depression may become the predominant diseases treated by TCM,and the corresponding interventions could be developed into practical applications.3) Use of non-recommended interventions should be controlled,and there should be more research on side effects. | Junwen Wang Meng Cui Hongguan Jiao Yuanyuan Tong Jun Xu Yingkai Zhao Mei Han Jianping Liu | 2013 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,2: | 7 |
| 11 | Three-dimensional holographic vector of atomic interaction field for quantitative structure-retention relationship of purine bases显示文摘A newly developed descriptor, three- dimensional holographic vector of atomic interaction field (3D-HoVAIF), was used to describe the chemical structures of purine bases. After variable screening by stepwise multiple regression (SMR) technique, a partial least square (PLS) regression model was built with 3D-HoVAIF. The model was satisfactory com- paring to reference since correlation coefficients of molecular modeling ( Rc 2um), cross- validation ( Qc 2um) and standard deviation of estimation (SD) were 0.966, 0.860 and 0.112, respectively, showing that the model had favorable estimation and prediction capa- bilities. It was illustrated that information related to retention data of purine bases could preferably be expressed by 3D-HoVAIF with definite physico- chemical meanings and easy structural interpretation for purine bases. It was illustrated that 3D-HoVAIF was to preferably express retention data of purine bases and had definite physicochemical significance. | 13 | Multi-center Study of Enteral Feeding Practices in Hospitalized Late Preterm Infants in China显示文摘Objective To investigate the current enteral feeding practices in hospitalized late preterm infants in the Beijing area of China. Methods A multi-center, cross-sectional study was conducted. Infants born after 34 weeks and before 37 weeks of gestation were enrolled from 25 hospitals in the Beijing area of China from October 2015 to October 2017. Data on enteral feeding practices were collected and analyzed. Results A total of 1,463 late preterm infants were enrolled, with a mean gestational age(GA) of 35.6(34.9, 36.1) weeks. The percentage of exclusive breastfeeding was 4.5% at the initiation of enteral feeding but increased to 14.4% at discharge. When human milk was not available, most infants(46.1%) were fed with preterm infant formula. The rate of exclusive human milk feeding in infants born at 34 weeks gestation was higher than at discharge(21.1% of infants born at 34 weeks' GA versus 12.1% of infants born at 35 weeks' GA versus 12.3% of infants born at 36 weeks' GA, P < 0.001). Only 28.4% of late preterm infants achieved full enteral feeding at discharge, and only 19.2% achieved 120 kcal/(kg·d) by enteral feeding at discharge. Importantly, 40.5% of infants did not regain the birth weight at discharge. Conclusion Enteral feeding support of late preterm infants has not been standardized to achieve optimal growth. Moreover, the human milk feeding rate was low, and many late preterm infants did not achieve the goal of enteral feeding and failed to regain birth weight at the time of discharge. | 15 | Functional identification of the terpene synthase family involved in diterpenoid alkaloids biosynthesis in Aconitum carmichaelii显示文摘Aconitum carmichaelii is a high-value medicinal herb widely used across China,Japan,and other Asian countries.Aconitine-type diterpene alkaloids(DAs)are the characteristic compounds in Aconitum.Although six transcriptomes,based on short-read next generation sequencing technology,have been reported from the Aconitum species,the terpene synthase(TPS)corresponding to DAs biosynthesis remains unidentified.We apply a combination of Pacbio isoform sequencing and RNA sequencing to provide a comprehensive view of the A.carmichaelii transcriptome.Nineteen TPSs and five alternative splicing isoforms belonging to TPS-b,TPS-c,and TPS-e/f subfamilies were identified.In vitro enzyme reaction analysis functional identified two sesqui-TPSs and twelve di TPSs.Seven of the TPS-c subfamily genes reacted with GGPP to produce the intermediate ent-copalyl diphosphate.Five Ac KSLs separately reacted with ent-CPP to produce ent-kaurene,ent-atiserene,and ent-13-epi-sandaracopimaradie:a new diterpene found in Aconitum.Ac TPSs gene expression in conjunction DAs content analysis in different tissues validated that ent-CPP is the sole precursor to all DAs biosynthesis,with Ac KSL1,Ac KSL2 s and Ac KSL3-1 responsible for C20 atisine and napelline type DAs biosynthesis,respectively.These data clarified the molecular basis for the C20-DAs biosynthetic pathway in A.carmichaelii and pave the way for further exploration of C19-DAs biosynthesis in the Aconitum species. | Liuying Mao Baolong Jin Lingli Chen Mei Tian Rui Ma Biwei Yin Haiyan Zhang Juan Guo Jinfu Tang Tong Chen Changjiangsheng Lai Guanghong Cui Luqi Huang | 2021 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,10: | 6 |

| 18 | Inhibition of cyclooxygenase-2 activity in subchondral bone modifies a subtype of osteoarthritis显示文摘Osteoarthritis(OA) causes the destruction of joints. Its pathogenesis is still under investigation, and there is no effective diseasemodifying therapy. Here, we report that elevated cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2) expression in the osteocytes of subchondral bone causes both spontaneous OA and rheumatoid arthritis(RA). The knockout of COX-2 in osteocytes or treatment with a COX-2 inhibitor effectively rescues the structure of subchondral bone and attenuates cartilage degeneration in spontaneous OA(STR/Ort)mice and tumor necrosis factor-α transgenic RA mice. Thus, elevated COX-2 expression in subchondral bone induces both OAassociated and RA-associated joint cartilage degeneration. | 19 | Characteristics of deep drainage and soil water in the mobile sandy lands of Inner Mongolia, northern China显示文摘Quantification of deep drainage and the response of soil water content to rainfall patterns are critical for an effective management strategy of soil water conservation and groundwater utilization. However, there has been little information on how rainfall characteristics influence soil water dynamics and deep drainage in mobile sandy lands. We used an underground chamber to examine the responses of deep drainage and soil water content in mobile sandy lands to rainfall characteristics in Inner Mongolia during the growing seasons of 2010, 2011 and 2012. Results showed that rainfall in this area was dominated by small events(≤5 mm), which increased soil water content in the surface soil layers(0–40 cm), but did not increase soil water content in the deeper soil layers(greater than 40 cm). Soil water content at the 0–100 cm depth increased significantly when the total amount of rain was >20 mm. Rainfall amount, intensity and the duration of dry intervals were significantly related to the soil water content in different soil layers. Deep drainage was significantly correlated with rainfall amount and intensity, but not with the duration of dry intervals. The coefficients of deep drainage in the mobile sandy lands ranged from 61.30% to 67.94% during the growing seasons. | 20 | Sexual Dysfunction among Chinese Nurses:Prevalence and Predictors显示文摘This study aimed to estimate the prevalence of and identify the factors influencing female sexual dysfunction(FSD) among Chinese nurses. A cross-sectional survey was conducted from March 2013 to May 2014 among 6 hospitals in Suzhou, China. In total, 2,030 married female nurses were included in the analysis. Data on the sociodemographic, lifestyle, and self-reported health status of the participants were collected, and the participants were asked to complete the Chinese version of the 19-item Female Sexual Function Index(FSFI) questionnaire. In total, 1,035(50.99%) participants were found to have FSD. Logistic regression analysis showed that increasing age and higher body mass index, lower salary, and poor/very poor self-reported health status were risk factors for FSD; however, regular social activity and physical exercise were protective factors for FSD.
