1A newly discovered Gigantopithecus fauna from Sanhe Cave, Chongzuo, Guangxi, South China显示文摘Among the most important faunas in the Late Cenozoic, the Gigantopithecus faunas have received a good deal of attention. The Gigantopithecus fauna recently discovered in Sanhe Cave consists of more than 80 mammal species, including cf. Hominidae, Pongo sp., Hylobates sp., Sinomastodon yangzien-sis, Stegodon preorientalis, Cervavitus fenqii, Dicoryphochoerus ultimus and Sus xiaozhu. It is the southernmost Gigantopithecus fauna found so far in China. Its geological age is estimated to be Early Pleistocene based on the fauna and stratigraphic correlation. The significant increase in the estimated body sizes of Ailuropoda, Gigantopithecus and Tapirus shows that the Sanhe fauna is middle Early Pleistocene, later than those from Wushan and Liucheng (early Early Pleistocene). Paleomagnetic dating of the fossil-bearing strata in Sanhe Cave gives an age of approximately 1.2 Ma. The fauna is characterized by tropical-subtropical forest types, including Pongo sp., Tupaia sp., Ia sp., Typhlomys intermedius, etc., and it lacks Palaearctic types. It is a typical tropical forest fauna, suggesting an en-vironment with a lush forest and a warm and humid climate. 2The Homo sapiens Cave hominin site of Mulan Mountain,Jiangzhou District,Chongzuo,Guangxi with emphasis on its age显示文摘One of the most hotly debated and frontal issues in paleoanthropology focuses on the origins of modern humans. Recently, an incomplete hominin mandible with a distinctly weaker mental protuberance than modern human and a great variety of coexisting fossil mammals were unearthed from the Homo sapiens Cave of Mulan Mountain, Chongzuo, Guangxi. The mammalian fauna from the Homo sapiens Cave characterized by the combination of Elephas kiangnanensis, first occurring Elephas maixmus, and Megatapirus augustus, and strikingly different from the Early Pleistocene Gigantopithecus fauna and the Middle Pleistocene Ailuropoda-Stogodon fauna of South China could be regarded as an early representive of the typical Asian elephant fauna. Faunal analysis, biostratigraphic correlation, and, most importantly, U-series dating all consistently support an estimate of ca. 110 ka for the age of the fossil Homo sapiens and coexisting mammalian fauna, that is, the early Late Pleistocene. The fauna is mainly made up of tropical-subtropical elements, but grassland elements have a much greater variety than forest elements, which probably indicates a drier climate at that time. 4Structure regulated catalytic performance of gold nanocluster-MOF nanocomposites显示文摘Atomically precise gold(Au)nanoclusters(NCs)as visible light photosensitizers supported on the substrate for photoredox catalysis have attracted considerable attentions.However,eficient control of their photocatalytic activity and long-term stability is still challenging.Herein,we report a coordination-assisted self-assembly strategy in combination with electrostatic interaction to sandwich Au2:(Capt)18(abbreviated as AU25,Capt=captopril)NCs between an inner core and an outer shell made of UiO-66,denoted as UiO-66@Au25@UiO-66.Notably,the sandwich-like nanocomposite displays significantly enhanced catalytic activity along with an excellent stability when used in the selective photocatalytic aerobic oxidation of sulfide to sulfoxide.As comparison,AU25 NCs simply located at the outer surface or insider matrix of UiO-66(short as Au2/UiO-66 and AU2s@UiO-66)show poor stability and low conversion,respectively.This structure regulated difference in the catalytic performances of three nanocomposites is assigned to the varied distribution of active sites(Au NCs)in metal-organic frameworks(MOFs).This work offers the opportunity for application of nanoclusters in catalysis,energy conversion and even biology.Yanfei Zhu Xueying Qiu Shenlong Zhao Jun Guo Xiaofei Zhang Wenshi Zhao Yanan Shi Zhiyong Tang 2020Nano Research2020,13,7:7
5Risk factors of adverse drug reaction from non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in Shanghai patients with arthropathy显示文摘AIM: The study was to screen the possible risk factors of adverse drug reaction (ADR) induced by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in Shanghai patients with arthropathy. METHODS: The subjects were ran- domly selected from a database of outpatients with arthropathy from 9 main hospitals in Shanghai. A door to door retrospective epidemiological survey was used to collect demographic information about the patients, both indi- vidual and familial. This included data on their medical histories, lifestyle and dietary habits, history of smoking and alcohol consumption, history of drug therapy, quality of life (QOL) prior to NSAIDs intake, history of NSAIDs therapy and its ADR events, etc. Descriptive statistical methods and univariate analysis were also used to identify possible risk factors for ADRs induced by NSAIDs. RESULTS: Of the 1002 patients surveyed, the average length of NSAIDs intake was 2 years. ADR incidence from different NSAIDs was high, in a range from 46.7 %-66.2 %. In general, the candidate risk factors for ADRs were different for each NSAID. Each of the candidate risk factors were defined and studied in order to evaluate its role in the determination of ADRs from NSAIDs. “Family history of ADRs caused by NSAIDs” was found to be a significant risk factor for the four commonly used NSAIDs: meloxicam, diclofenac, nimesulide, and nabumetone. CONCLUSION: A retrospective epidemiological survey was useful in detecting the risk factors for ADRs caused by NSAIDs. 6山西东南部地区妇女产后体重滯留现状及影响因素显示文摘目的了解山西省东南部地区产妇体重滞留现状及其影响因素,为制定合理的体重改善策略和措施提供依据。方法于2015年7月-2017年6月,采用前瞻性队列研究方法 ,纳入待分娩孕妇635人,于产后6个月进行追踪调查,观察指标包括一般情况、孕前体重、孕期增重和产后6个月体重。结果 635名纳入研究的孕妇中,产后6个月随访到的有效人数为495人,应答率为77.95%。研究对象产前平均体质指数(BMI)为(20.27±2.28)kg/cm^2,分娩后6个月平均BMI为(23.12±2.74)kg/cm^2,平均体重滞留为(2.68±2.48)kg。超重和肥胖妇女比率由产前的16.36%到产后6个月的24.65%。295名(59.6%)研究对象超过了美国医学研究会(IOM)2009年推荐的孕期增重标准至少1 kg,104名(21.01%)研究对象超过标准5 kg。经多元线性回归分析,影响本地区产妇产后6个月体重滞留的影响因素为孕期增重、产后抑郁症患病情况和孕前BMI。结论怀孕期间以及产后6个月内需要进行体重管理以及心理卫生干预,以减少肥胖和肥胖相关疾病的发生率。杨建洲 陈云霞 宋雯霞 俎晓霞 WenShi Wu 王昕 郑建中 2018中国公共卫生2018,34,7:6
7Characterization of VOC emissions from construction machinery and river ships in the Pearl River Delta of China显示文摘Speciated characterization of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs),including oxygenated VOCs (OVOCs),from construction machinery and river ships in China is currently lacking.In this regard,we conducted field measurement on speciated VOC (including OVOC) emissions from six construction machinery and five river ships in the Pearl River Delta (PRD) region to identify VOC emission characteristics.We noticed that OVOC emissions from construction machinery and ships accounted for more than 50%of the total VOC emissions,followed by alkenes,aromatics and alkanes.Formaldehyde and acetaldehyde were the most emission species,accounting for 61.8%-83.2%of OVOCs.For construction machinery,the fuel-based emission factors of roller,grader and pile driver were 3.12,3.12 and 7.36 g/kg,respectively.With the rigorous restraint by the national emission standards,VOC emissions of construction machinery had decreased considerably,especially during stageⅢ.Ozone formation potential was also significantly reduced due to the significant decrease in emissions of OVOCs and alkenes with higher reactivity.For river ships,the fuel-based emission factors of cargo ships and speedboat were 1.46 and 0.44 g/kg,respectively.VOC emissions from construction machinery and river ships in Guangdong Province in 2017 were 8851.0 and 4361.0 ton,respectively.This study filled the knowledge gaps of reactive gas emissions from different kinds of non-road mobile sources over the PRD,and more importantly,highlighted the necessity in adding OVOC measurement to give a complete and accurate depiction of reactive gas emissions from non-road mobile sources.Richao Wang Zibing Yuan Junyu Zheng Cheng Li Zhijiong Huang Wenshi Li Yan Xie Yiran Wang Kaiyang Yu Lejun Duan 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,10:5
8Direct site-specific treatment of skin cancer using doxorubicin-loaded nanofibrous membranes显示文摘Doxorubicin(DOX) is widely used in cancer therapy. However, its application is sometimes limited by its adverse cardiotoxicity and delivery pathways. In our study, we prepared a topical implantable delivery device for controlled drug release and site-specific treatment. The core region consisted of poly(lactic co-glycolic acid) and poly-caprolactone, whereas the shell region was composed of cross-linked gelatin.DOX was enclosed in the core region of a core-shell nanofiber obtained by electrospinning. This implantable delivery device was implanted on the top of the melanoma in a mouse model, which had shown a DOX-controlled release profile with sustained and sufficient local concentration against melanoma growth in mice with negligible side effects. Compared with the traditional intravenous administration,the implantable device allows precisely localized treatment and therefore can reduce the dose, decrease the injection frequency, and ensure antitumor efficacy associated with lower side effects to normal tissues. 10Numerical prediction experiment on Typhoon Maggie (9903)显示文摘The movement of Typhoon Maggie (9903) in June 1999 is one of the rare cases ever seen in the history. At 00U on June 6 Maggie was located at about 70 km to the southwest of Taiwan. When it arrived at the coastal region of Shanwei City (22.8N, 116.5E), it turned suddenly to move southwestward along the southern China coastal line. De June 7 Maggie finally turned to move northward, making landfall to the north of Shangchuan Island. The experimental numerical prediction system on typhoon movement that was designed based on MM5 is proved quite successful for the 48h prediction of Maggie’s movement and rainfall. The mean prediction error of typhoon track is 81 km for 0-24 h and 74 km for 24-48 h. The location of typhoon center in the initial field of the model is approximately 100 km away from the actual observations. In order to modify the location of typhoon center, a bogus typhoon was intro- duced into the model and the prediction of typhoon track was improved in 0-24 h time interval. But the prediction error was enlarged in 24-36 h. We also performed a sensitivity experiment of changing the land of southern China into the ocean. 13Gedunin Degrades Aggregates of Mutant Huntingtin Protein and Intranuclear Inclusions via the Proteasomal Pathway in Neurons and Fibroblasts from Patients with Huntington’s Disease显示文摘Huntington's disease(HD) is a deadly neurodegenerative disease with abnormal expansion of CAG repeats in the huntingtin gene. Mutant Huntingtin protein(m HTT) forms abnormal aggregates and intranuclear inclusions in specific neurons, resulting in cell death. Here,we tested the ability of a natural heat-shock protein 90 inhibitor, Gedunin, to degrade transfected m HTT in Neuro-2 a cells and endogenous m HTT aggregates and intranuclear inclusions in both fibroblasts from HD patients and neurons derived from induced pluripotent stem cells from patients. Our data showed that Gedunin treatment degraded transfected m HTT in Neuro-2 a cells, endogenous m HTT aggregates and intranuclear inclusions in fibroblasts from HD patients, and in neurons derived from induced pluripotent stem cells from patients in a dose-and time-dependent manner, and its activity depended on the proteasomal pathway rather than the autophagy route. 14Chaos Criteria Design Based on Modified Sign Functions with One or Three-Threshold显示文摘The complexity measures of chaotic or periodic signals are perpetual topics of interest to data scientists. This work adheres to the framework of the traditional 0-1 test for chaos and replaces sine and cosine functions by modified sign functions. The compressive mapping rules chosen are one-threshold of three-value or three-threshold of five-value. In new criteria for chaos in forms of the 3s plot and Ks metric compared with 0-1 test results, the periodic state of data features a short beeline instead of a big ring in the pq plot and signs the nearest zero mark, while the chaotic state signs a simple curve instead of a random-walking shape in the pq plot, and shows the nearest one mark. 17Imbalance between nitrogen and potassium fertilization influences potassium deficiency symptoms in winter oilseed rape (Brassica napus L.) leaves显示文摘Chlorosis at leaf margins is a typical symptom of potassium(K) deficiency, but inappropriate application of K with other nutrients often masks symptoms of K deficiency. A two-year field experiment was conducted to measure the interactive effects of N and K on leaf photosynthesis and dry matter accumulation and the resulting growth dilution effect on K concentration and leaf K deficiency symptoms. N application aggravated the imbalance of N and K nutrients and further exacerbated K deficiency symptoms under K limitation. Synergistic effects of N and K promoted plant growth, amplified the growth dilution effect, and reduced the critical K concentration in leaves. Using 90% of the maximum shoot biomass as a threshold,the critical K concentration was 0.72% at the recommended N(N180) fertilization level. The critical K concentration increased by 62.5% owing to the reduced biomass under insufficient N(N;) supply. In contrast, high N(N;) reduced the critical K concentration(0.64%), accelerating chlorophyll decomposition and exacerbating K deficiency symptoms. The basis of changing the critical K concentration by magnifying growth dilution effect was the functional synergistic effect of N and K on photosynthetic characteristics. Under insufficient N, the low maximum carboxylation rate(V;) limited the net photosynthetic rate(An) and necessitated more K to maintain high CO;transmission capacity, to improve the total conductance g;/V;ratio. High N supply increased gtotand V;possibly mitigating the effect of K reduction on photosynthesis.
