1Precise base editing of non-allelic acetolactate synthase genes confers sulfonylurea herbicide resistance in maize显示文摘Single-nucleotide polymorphisms contribute to phenotypic diversity in maize. Creation and functional annotation of point mutations has been limited by the low efficiency of conventional methods based on random mutation. An efficient tool for generating targeted single-base mutations is desirable for both functional genomics and precise genetic improvement. The objective of this study was to test the efficiency of targeted C-to-T base editing of two non-allelic acetolactate synthase(ALS) in generating sulfonylurea herbicide-resistant mutants. A CRISPR/Cas9 nickase-cytidine deaminase fused with uracil DNA glycosylase inhibitor(UGI) was employed to achieve targeted conversion of cytosine to thymine in ZmALS1 and ZmALS2. Both protoplasts and recovered mutant plants showed the activity of the cytosine base editor, with an in vivo efficiency of up to 13.8%. Transgene-free edited plants harboring a homozygous ZmALS1 mutation or a ZmALS1 and ZmALS2 double mutation were tested for their resistance at a dose of up to 15-fold the recommended limit of chlorsulfuron, a sulfonylurea herbicide widely used in agriculture. 2Isolation,Characterization,and Phylogenetic Analysis of Two New Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever Virus Strains from the Northern Region of Xinjiang Province,China显示文摘Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever(CCHF)caused by the CCHF virus(CCHFV)is a tick-borne natural focal disease with a mortality rate of approximately 50%.CCHFV is widely prevalent in Africa,southern Asia,the Middle East,and southeast Europe.CCHF outbreaks have been reported previously in Xinjiang province,China,especially in its southern region.Epidemiological surveys conducted on ticks and animals have revealed the presence of CCHFV strains in ticks,rodents,and infected individuals from cities and counties in southern Xinjiang.Phylogenetic analyses revealed that the Chinese CCHFV strains belong to one genotype,based on complete sequences of the S segments of its negative-stranded RNA genome.The present study reports two new CCHFV strains isolated from Hyalomma asiaticum asiaticum ticks collected from Fukang City and Wujiaqu City in the northern region of Xinjiang.Viral characteristics and their evolutionary relationships were analyzed through metagenomic and reverse-transcription PCR analyses;these analyses indicated that the genotype of both strains was different from that of other Chinese strains.Furthermore,previous reports of CCHFV in Xinjiang were reviewed and phylogenetic analyses were performed.CCHFV was found to prevail in Fukang City in Junggar Basin for more than 20 years,and that Fukang City and Wujiaqu City are considered natural reservoirs of different genotypes of CCHFV strains.Our findings facilitate the understanding of CCHFV distribution in Xinjiang province and provide insights into the evolutionary relationships among Chinese CCHFV strains.Yanfang Zhang Shu Shen Yaohui Fang Jinliang Liu Zhengyuan Su Jinhao Liang Zhong Zhang Qiaoli Wu Cheng Wang Abulikemu Abudurexiti Zhihong Hu Yujiang Zhang Fei Deng 2018Virologica Sinica2018,33,1:8
3Source apportionment and ecological risk assessment of PAHs in surface sediments from the Liaodong Bay,northern China显示文摘The sources and ecological risk from sixteen polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in surface sediment in the Liaodong Bay were investigated from 2014 to 2015.The total concentrations of PAHs ranged from 88.5 to 347.1 ng/g,and the high value occurred in the central region of the Liaodong Bay.Cluster analysis identified two site clusters representing the coastal region affected by land-based pollution and the central region of the Liaodong Bay.Principal component analysis-multiple linear regression and diagnostic ratios suggested that PAHs contaminants originated from a mixture of combustion and petroleum sources,and the major was combustion sources.Based on sediment quality guideline,naphthalene,acenaphthylene,acenaphthene,phenanthrene and dibenz[a,h]anthracene may occasionally cause adverse biological effects in some stations.The toxic equivalent concentrations of carcinogenic PAHs indicated low carcinogenic risk for the Liaodong Bay.The ecological risk and toxic pollution levels of PAHs were higher in the central region than in the coastal region along the Liaodong Bay.ZHANG Yufeng WU Jinhao SONG Lun SONG Yonggang YANG Meng WANG Nianbin HAN Jiabo GUAN Daoming 2018Acta Oceanologica Sinica2018,37,4:6
4Predicting Skin Sensory of Cosmetic Emulsions by Texture Analyzer显示文摘The purpose of this study was to investigate the feasibility of using texture analyzer to predict sensory attributes of cosmetic emulsions.Eleven emulsions prepared in the lab and twelve commercial products have been tested by texture analyzer and evaluated by a trained sensory panel.Based on the collected data,a series of precise predictive equations were presented,and the predictive models were developed using simple linear regression by the best Pearson’s correlation coefficients.The results showed that the texture analyzer can predict sensory attributes of spreadability,firmness,ease of pick-up,peak after pick-up and tackiness by single corresponding parameter.All the values of R2 for these predictive models were above 0.80 except for the attribute of spreadability(R2=0.71).New methods were designed to measure three sensory attributes of ease of pick-up,peak after pick-up and tackiness,while the modified methods were developed to measure spreadability and firmness.These reported methods in the research are very effective and easy to operate and can support alternatives to traditional sensory profiles obtained with trained panels.Zhou Zhaoqing Wu Jinhao Zhao Hua 2020China Detergent & Cosmetics2020,5,2:1
5Auxin signaling module OsSK41-OsIAA10-OsARF regulates grain yield traits in rice显示文摘Auxin is an important phytohormone in plants, and auxin signaling pathways in rice play key roles in regulating its growth, development, and productivity. To investigate how rice grain yield traits are regulated by auxin signaling pathways and to facilitate their application in rice improvement, we validated the functional relationships among regulatory genes such as OsIAA10, OsSK41, and OsARF21 that are involved in one of the auxin(OsIAA10) signaling pathways. We assessed the phenotypic effects of these genes on several grain yield traits across two environments using knockout and/or overexpression transgenic lines.Based on the results, we constructed a model that showed how grain yield traits were regulated by OsIAA10 and OsTIR1, OsAFB2, and OsSK41 and OsmiR393 in the OsSK41-OsIAA10-OsARF module and by OsARF21 in the transcriptional regulation of downstream auxin response genes in the OsSK41-OsIAA10-OsARF module. The population genomic analyses revealed rich genetic diversity and the presence of major functional alleles at most of these loci in rice populations. The strong differentiation of many major alleles between Xian/indica and Geng/japonica subspecies and/or among modern varieties and landraces suggested that they contributed to improved productivity during evolution and breeding. 8A study of laparoscopic extraperitoneal sigmoid colostomy after abdomino-perineal resection for rectal cancer显示文摘Objective:To established a procedure for laparoscopic extraperitoneal ostomy after abdomino-perineal resection(APR)and study safety aspects and complications.Method:From July 2011 to July 2012,36 patients with low rectal cancer undergoing APR were included in the study and divided into extraperitoneal ostomy group(n=18)and intraperitoneal ostomy group(n=18).Short-and long-term complications were compared between the two groups.All patients were followed up and the median duration was 17 months(range:12-24).Results:The rates of short-term complication related to colostomies were comparable between the two groups,except the rate for stoma edema was higher in the extraperitoneal group(33.3%vs 0%;P=0.008).In the intraperitoneal ostomy group,two patients developed stoma prolapse,one had stoma stenosis,and two had parastomal hernia.In contrast,no long-term complications related to colostomies occurred in the extraperitoneal ostomy group.The rate of long-term complication was lower in the extraperitoneal ostomy group(0%vs 22.2%;P=0.036).Conclusion:The laparoscopic extraperitoneal ostomy is a relatively simple and safe procedure,with fewer long-term complications related to colostomy.However the follow-up period was not too long and needs to be extended.Jin Heiying Du Yonghong Wang Xiaofeng Yao Hang Wu Kunlan Zhang Bei Zhang Jinhao Leng Qiang 2014Gastroenterology Report2014,2,1:1
9Isolation, Identification, and Quantitative Determination of Saponin in Apostichopus japonicus by HPLC-DAD显示文摘Apostichopus japonicus is an important invertebrate that is widely used as a tonic food in Asian countries.The purpose of this study is to purify and identify a class of compound,the saponins,from the body wall of A.japonicus,and to establish a new me-thod to determine the quantity of saponins in the sea cucumber.In this study,the saponins of A.japonicus,cladoloside A(CA),were ob-tained from 80%ethanol extract by column chromatography for the first time and were characterized using the spectral method.The resulting purified saponins were then profiled using ^(1)HNMR,^(13)CNMR,and ESI-MS,which revealed the CA molecular formula of C_(53)H_(82)O_(2) and contained a triterpenoid backbone,a methylglucopyranosyl moiety,a quinovopyranosyl,and two xylopyranosyls.A me-thod for the quantitative determination of CA,comprising microwave-assisted extraction,high-performance liquid chromatography,and diode array detector method,was established.Extraction efficiency was optimized by changing microwave power,extraction sol-vent,volume,time,and temperature.Results showed that under the optimum conditions(extraction time of 10 min,temperature of 45℃,and solvent of 25 mL 70%ethanol under 400 W),the detection limit of CA was 0.0015 mg mL^(−1),and the recoveries of CA from samples at spiking levels of 10,20,and 50μg g^(−1) ranged from 90.1%-104%.The proposed method was successfully applied to ana-lyze the saponins in different tissues of A.japonicus collected in different seasons.The method developed in this study can provide quantitative technical support for the quality control of A.japonicus.LIU Guiying WANG Xuda GE Kun WU Jinhao WANG Zhaohui DU Jing SONG Lun ZHOU Zunchun 2022Journal of Ocean University of China2022,21,2:1
10Spatiotemporal distribution of size-fractioned phytoplankton in the Yalu River Estuary,China显示文摘The grain size structure of phytoplankton has great influence on shellfish culture.The present study aimed to assess the spatial and temporal variation in the phytoplankton community structure in the Yalu River Estuary and to explore the relationship between the phytoplankton community structure and various environmental parameters in 2020.High-throughput sequencing was used in this study.The results showed that nanophytoplankton,especially Karlodinium veneficum,dominated the estuary throughout the year.The biomass ratio of picophytoplankton,nanophytoplankton,and microphytoplankton were 20:63:17 in spring,30:44:26 in summer,1:38:61 in autumn,and 2:45:53 in winter,respectively.Meanwhile,Dinophyta had the greatest biomass throughout the year,followed by Bacillariophyta.On the spatial dimension(Station average),COD,T,SST had a positive impact on total phytoplankton communities,and Dep had a negative impact.In the time dimension(Monthly average),the environmental factor that significantly controlled the phytoplankton community structure were NO2 and SST.Yin Liu Lun Song GuangJun Song JinHao Wu Kun Wang ZaoHui Wang SuXuan Liu 2022Ecosystem Health and Sustainability2022,8,1:0

13Evaluation for Whitening Efficacy of Cosmetics Containning Extract from Tricholoma Matsutake Sing显示文摘Evaluation for human body whitening efficacy of cosmetics with extract from Tricholoma matsutake Sing as main effective constituent was conducted. Thirty female volunteers with age between 20 and 45 years old were kindly invited to use the cosmetic product on the inner side of their crank arm for a testing period of 8 weeks continuously. Values of Ml, L* and ITA° of the skin were measured and the results display significant difference(P < 0. 05) before and after the 8 weeks testing period. Duncan multiple comparisons showed that the whitening efficacy of cosmetic product formulated with the extract from Tricholoma matsutake Sing is significantly greater than that of the formulation matrix and equivalent with that of ascorbyl ethyl ether. 14Stability of potentially toxic elements in municipal sludge biochars modified by MgCl2 and phosphate显示文摘Municipal wastewater sludge can be pyrolyzed as biochars to better use nutrients and stabilize carbon compared with other typical technologies,such as landfill and incineration.However,sludge-derived biochars might contain large amounts of potentially toxic elements(PTEs),such as Zn,Cu,Cr,Ni,Pb,and As.The stability of PTEs in biochars might be improved by higher pyrolytic temperatures,which can be further improved by different modifications.Herein,PO4-modification at 300°C and Cl-modification at 700°C were carried out,respectively,to enhance the stability of PTEs.Various leaching tests have been performed to assess the stability of PTEs in biochars,including the synthetic precipitation leaching procedure(SPLP),toxicity characteristic leaching procedure(TCLP),diethylenetriamine pentaacetate(DTPA)extraction,and in vitro simple bioaccessibility extraction test(SBET).The morphological structure,elemental mapping,and mineral formation of the pristine and modified biochars were studied by scanning electron microscopy–energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(SEM–EDS)and X-ray diffraction(XRD).Our results suggested that the leachability,mobility,plant-availability,and bioaccessibility of most PTEs were decreased by pyrolysis,yet the total contents of PTEs were elevated,especially at 700°C.Generally,modification by phosphates and MgCl2 enhanced the stability of PTEs in biochars.Nevertheless,it should be noted that higher bioaccessibility of PTEs was observed in biochars of P-modification than Cl-modification,which is associated with the dissolution of phosphate precipitates under acidic conditions(pH<2).Additionally,Cl-modification leads to higher plant-available Zn and Cu and bioaccessible Zn compared with the unmodified biochar produced at 700°C.Qiqi Huang Siqi Chen Jinhao Lin Jingzi Beiyuan Jin Wang Juan Liu Yundang Wu Xiaolian Wu Fuhua Li Wenbing Yuan Chengrong Nie 2023Waste Disposal and Sustainable Energy2023,5,1:0
15Lithium-ion battery degradation trajectory early prediction with synthetic dataset and deep learning显示文摘Knowing the long-term degradation trajectory of Lithium-ion(Li-ion) battery in its early usage stage is critical for the maintenance of the battery energy storage system(BESS) in reality. Previous battery health diagnosis methods focus on capacity and state of health(SOH) estimation which can receive only the short-term health status of the cell. This paper proposes a novel degradation trajectory prediction method with synthetic dataset and deep learning, which enables to grasp the characterization of the cell's health at a very early stage of Li-ion battery usage. A transferred convolutional neural network(CNN) is chosen to finalize the early prediction target, and the polynomial function based synthetic dataset generation strategy is designed to reduce the costly data collection procedure in real application. In this thread, the proposed method needs one full lifespan data to predict the overall degradation trajectories of other cells. 16An Enhanced Data-Driven Model for Lithium-Ion Battery State-of-Health Estimation with Optimized Features and Prior Knowledge显示文摘In the long-term prediction of battery degradation,the data-driven method has great potential with historical data recorded by the battery management system.This paper proposes an enhanced data-driven model for Lithium-ion(Li-ion)battery state of health(SOH)estimation with a superior modeling procedure and optimized features.The Gaussian process regression(GPR)method is adopted to establish the data-driven estimator,which enables Li-ion battery SOH estimation with the uncertainty level.A novel kernel function,with the prior knowledge of Li-ion battery degradation,is then introduced to improve the mod-eling capability of the GPR.As for the features,a two-stage processing structure is proposed to find a suitable partial charging voltage profile with high efficiency.In the first stage,an optimal partial charging voltage is selected by the grid search;while in the second stage,the principal component analysis is conducted to increase both estimation accuracy and computing efficiency.Advantages of the proposed method are validated on two datasets from different Li-ion batteries:Compared with other methods,the proposed method can achieve the same accuracy level in the Oxford dataset;while in Maryland dataset,the mean absolute error,the root-mean-squared error,and the maximum error are at least improved by 16.36%,32.43%,and 45.46%,respectively.Huanyang Huang Jinhao Meng Yuhong Wang Lei Cai Jichang Peng Ji Wu Qian Xiao Tianqi Liu Remus Teodorescu 2022Automotive Innovation2022,5,2:0

18Efficacy Evaluation of a Compound Plant Extract Used in Makeup Base显示文摘Cytological test and human skin test were used to study the antioxidant,anti-aging and moisturizing effects of a compound plant extract,and to evaluate its safety.The cytological test results showed that the compound extract could significantly scavenge the reactive oxygen species(ROS)generated by H2O2 stimulation and protect cells from oxidative damage.It can significantly inhibit the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-1(MMP-1).The results of human skin test showed that the moisture content of cheek stratum corneum,R2 value and Q1 value of skin elasticity were significantly improved after 28 days of continuous use of the Makeup Base product added with the compound plant extract.The Ra value,Rz value and Rt value of skin texture around eyes have been significantly improved,which shows that the product has the effects of improving the moisture content of stratum corneum,improving skin elasticity and diminishing the fine lines around the eyes;the product has good safety.Huang Hongbin Wang Yinli Zeng Lanlan Feng Di Wu Jinhao 2021China Detergent & Cosmetics2021,6,1:0
19PRAP-PIM:A weight pattern reusing aware pruning method for ReRAM-based PIM DNN accelerators显示文摘Resistive Random-Access Memory(ReRAM)based Processing-in-Memory(PIM)frameworks are proposed to accelerate the working process of DNN models by eliminating the data movement between the computing and memory units.To further mitigate the space and energy consumption,DNN model weight sparsity and weight pattern repetition are exploited to optimize these ReRAM-based accelerators.However,most of these works only focus on one aspect of this software/hardware codesign framework and optimize them individually,which makes the design far from optimal.In this paper,we propose PRAP-PIM,which jointly exploits the weight sparsity and weight pattern repetition by using a weight pattern reusing aware pruning method.By relaxing the weight pattern reusing precondition,we propose a similarity-based weight pattern reusing method that can achieve a higher weight pattern reusing ratio.Experimental results show that PRAP-PIM achieves 1.64×performance improvement and 1.51×energy efficiency improvement in popular deep learning benchmarks,compared with the state-of-the-art ReRAM-based DNN accelerators.Zhaoyan Shen Jinhao Wu Xikun Jiang Yuhao Zhang Lei Ju Zhiping Jia 2023High-Confidence Computing2023,3,2:0
20Responses of milk production of dairy cows to jugular infusions of a mixture of essential amino acids with or without exclusion leucine or arginine显示文摘The purpose of this study was to determine effects of jugular infusion of either balanced or imbalanced amino acid mixture on milk production and composition in dairy cows. Eight mid-lactation Holstein cows were randomly assigned to 5-d continuous jugular infusions of saline(CTL), essential amino acid(EAA) mixture prepared on the profile of casein(CSN, 160 g/d), EAA mixture excluding leucine(Leu)(-Leu, 163 g/d) or EAA mixture excluding arginine(Arg)(-Arg, 158 g/d) in a duplicated 4×4 Latin square design with 4 infusion periods separated by a 7-d interval period. The basal diet was formulated with corn grain, soybean meal, cottonseed meal, corn silage, alfalfa hay and Chinese wildrye grass hay according to NRC(2001) and supplied 1.6 Mcal net energy for lactation(NEL) and 94.4 g metabolizable protein(MP) per kg dry matter(DM) to meet requirements for lactation. The results showed that the dry matter intake(DMI) and normal physiological status were not affected by amino acid mixture infusions.Compared with CTL treatment, the CSN treatment increased milk yield(14.9%, P < 0.001), milk lactose yield(14.5%, P = 0.001), milk fat yield(16.6%, P = 0.01), milk protein yield(18.2%, P < 0.001) and the contents of α_(S1)-casein(α_(S1)-CN,11,8%,P = 0,007),β-casein(β-CN,4.2%.P=0.035) and K-casein(κ-CN,8.5%, P = 0.003). However, the-Leu and-Arg treatments had lower milk yield(6.3%, P = 0.058 and 5.7%,P = 0.073, respectively), milk protein yield(8.8%, P = 0.010 and 8.2%, P = 0.011, respectively) and the contents of α_(S1)-CN(7.3%,P = 0.057 and 8.4%,P = 0.026, respectively),β-CN(4.2%,P = 0.033 and 3.8%,P = 0.048, respectively) and κ-CN(5.8%, P = 0.023 and 7.6%, P = 0.003, respectively) than those of the CSN treatment. Milk lactose yield(5.9%, P = 0.076) tended to decrease when Leu was removed from amino acid mixture infusate.
