1In vitro growth, differentiation and biological characteristics of neural stem cells显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To summarize the biological characteristics of neural stem cells, and the separation, purification, differentiation and source of neural stem cells. DATA SOURCES: An online search of Pubmed database was undertaken to identify English articles about the growth of neural stem cells in vitro published from January 2000 to October 2006 by using the keywords of 'neural stem cells, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs), umbilical cord blood stem cells, embryonic stem cells (ESC), separation methods, neural growth factor'. And relevant articles published in IEEE/IEE Electronic Library (IEL) database, Springer Link database and Kluwer Online Journals were also searched. Chinese relevant articles published between January 2000 to October 2006 were searched with the same keywords in Chinese in Chinese journal full-text database.STUDY SELECTION: The articles were primarily screened, and then the full-texts were searched. Inclusive criteria: ① Articles relevant to the biological characteristics and classification of neural stem cells; ② Articles about the source, separation and differentiation of the ESCs, BMSCs and umbilical cord blood stem cells. The repetitive studies and reviews were excluded.DATA EXTRACTION: Thirty articles were selected from 203 relevant articles according to the inclusive criteria. Articles were excluded because of repetition and reviews.DATA SYNTHESIS: Neural stem cells have the ability of self-renewing and high differentiation, and they are obtained from ESCs, nerve tissue, nerve system, BMSCs and umbilical cord blood stem cells. ESCs can be separated by means of mechanical dissociation is better than that of the trypsin digestion, BMSCs by density gradient centrifuge separation, hemolysis, whole-blood culture, etc., and umbilical cord blood stem cells by Ficoll density gradient centrifugation, hydroxyethyl starch (HES) centrifugation sedimentation, etc. Neural growth factor (NGF) and other factors play an important role in the growth of NSCs, such as transforming growth factor (TGF) is an important player in repairing organs, NGF accelerates the process of growth, insulin-like growth factor serves importantly in the differentiation of stem cells into neuron-like cells. CONCLUSION: As unipotent stem cells, NSCs have the abilities of self-renewal and potential of high differentiation. The method of mechanical dissociation is better than trypsin digestion in e separating ESCs. However, density gradient centrifuge separation is better than other methods in the separation of the BMSCs. 4Identification of Odor Volatile Compounds and Deodorization ofPaphia undulata Enzymatic Hydrolysate显示文摘Unfavorable fishy odour is an inevitable problem in aquatic products. In the present study, headspace solid-phase microextraction gas chromatography mass spectrometry(HS-SPME-GC-MS) analysis of volatiles from untreated samples and three deodorized samples(under the optimal conditions) of Paphia undulata enzymatic hydrolysate revealed that the compounds contributing to the distinctive odor were 1-octen-3-ol, n-hexanal, n-heptanal, 2,4-heptadienal, and 2,4-decadienal, whereas n-pentanal, n-octanal, n-octanol, benzaldehyde, 2-ethylfuran and 2-pentylfuran were the main contributors to the aromatic flavor. The deodorizing effects of activated carbon(AC) adsorption, yeast extract(YE) masking and tea polyphenol(TP) treatment on a P. undulata enzymatic hydrolysate were investigated using orthogonal experiments with sensory evaluation as the index. The following optimized deodorization conditions were obtained: AC adsorption(35 mg mL^(-1), 80℃, 40 min), YE masking(7 mg mL^(-1), 45℃, 30 min) and TP treatment(0.4 mg mL^(-1), 40℃, 50 min). AC adsorption effectively removed off-flavor volatile aldehydes and ketones. YE masking modified the odor profile by increasing the relative contents of aromatic compounds and decreasing the relative contents of aldehydes and ketones. The TP treatment was not effective in reducing the odor score, but it significantly reduced the relative content of aldehydes while increasing that of alkanes. 5Anoxic Biological Phosphorus Uptake in A^2O Process显示文摘A lab-scale anaerobic-anoxic-oxic (A2O) process used to treat a synthetic brewage wastewater was investigated. The objectives of the study were to identify the existence of denitrifying phosphorus removing bacteria (DPB), evaluate the contribution of DPB to biological nutrient removal and enhance the denitrifying phosphorus removal in A2O bioreactors. Sludge analysis confirmed that the average anoxic P uptake accounted for approximately 70% the total amount of P uptake, and the ratio of anoxic P uptake rate to aerobic P uptake rate was 69%. In addition, nitrate concentration in the anoxic phase and different organic substrate introduced into the anaerobic phase had significant effect on the anoxic P uptake. Compared with conventional A2O processes, good removal efficiencies of COD, phosphorus, ammonia and total nitrogen (92.3%, 95.5%, 96% and 79.5%, respectively) could be achieved in the anoxic P uptake system, and aeration energy consumption was saved 25%. By controlling the nitrate recirculation flow in the anoxic zone, anoxic P uptake could be enhanced, which solved the competition for organic substrates among poly-P organisms and denitrifiers successfully under the COD limiting conditions. 8Enhanced magnetic properties in chemically inhomogeneous Nd-Dy-Fe-B sintered magnets by multi-main-phase process显示文摘Homogeneous substitution of Dy for Nd in the hard magnetic 2:14:1 phase can effectively enhance coercivity to ensure the high temperature operation,however,inevitably deteriorate remanence at expense.In this work,we performed a comparative investigation of the two magnets prepared by multimain-phase(co-sintering Nd_(2)Fe_(14)B and(Nd,Dy)_(2)Fe_(14)B powders)and single-main-phase(sintering(Nd,Dy)_(2)Fe_(14)B powders)approaches.The comparative investigation reveals that at the same Dy substitution level(2.16 wt%),such chemically inhomogeneous multi-main-phase magnet possesses better roomtemperature magnetic properties as well as thermal stability than those of the single-main-phase one with homogenous Dy distribution in the matrix grains.Room-temperature magnetic properties H_(Cj)=1664 kA/m,B_(r)=1.33 T and(BH)_(max)=350.4 kJ/m^(3)for the multi-main-phase magnet are all better than those for the single-main-phase magnet with H_(Cj)=1536 kA/m,B_(r)=1.29 T and(BH)_(max)=318.4 kj/m^(3).In addition,over the temperature range from 295 to 423 K,both the temperature coefficients of coercivity and remanence for the multi-main-phase magnet are also lower than that for the single-main-phase magnet.Such superior magnetic performance is attributed to the short-range magnetic interactions inside individual 2:14:1 phase grains and the long-range magnetostatic interactions between adjacent grains with inhomogeneous Dy distribution.Our work provides a feasible approach of enhancing coercivity and retaining energy product simultaneously in the Nd-Dy-Fe-B permanent magnets.Xiaolian Liu Mengjie Pan Pei Zhang Tianyu Ma Lizhong Zhao Lingwei Li 2021Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,5:5
9Species composition,diversity and density of plagic Ostracoda in the East China Sea显示文摘On the basis of seasonal investigations at 23°30'~33°00'N,118°30'~128°00'E of the East China Sea during 1997~2000,dynamics on the density and diversity of Ostracoda was discussed.Results showed that totally 26 species were identified.The Ostracoda diversity was opposite to the change of its density in most seasons which reflected an uneven assignment of Ostracoda density among its different species.The Ostracoda density was 0.70 ind./m3 in spring,1.72 ind./m3 in summer,2.57 ind./m3 in autumn and 0.90 ind./m3 in winter.Euconchoecia chierchiae in spring and winter,Euconchoecia maimai in summer and Cypridina dentata in autumn were main dominant species in each season.The Ostracoda density did not show an obvious linear relationship with the hydrologic factors in summer and autumn,but was related to the surface salinity in spring and the surface temperature in winter.Its high density areas mainly distributed in the north offshore in all the seasons while in the south offshore in winter and in spring,and the south nearshore in summer and autumn,implied the zooplankton was a typical warm water animal,whose high density distribution in autumn were located in a similar position to Todarodes pacificus,Navodon Septentrionalis,Scomber japonicus and other fishes in the sea,so as to be an important indicator for fishing ground.The main species dominating in Ostracoda now are different from the species twenty years ago probably attributes to global warming.XU Zhaoli GU Xiaolian ZHANG Fengying 2007Acta Oceanologica Sinica2007,26,5:4
10Synthesis and ferroelectric properties of Nd doped multiferroic BiFeO_3 nanotubes显示文摘Nd doped multiferroic BiFeO3 (Bi0.94Nd0.06FeO3 (BNF)) nanotubes were successfully synthesized by a sol-gel template method.Electron microscopy investigations exhibited that these nanotubes had straight and smooth profile with diameters of about 200 nm and wall thickness of about 20 nm.A perovskite-type structure of BNF was confirmed in the nanotubes by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and selected area electron diffraction analysis.These nanotubes had high resistivity.The dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the nanotubes were 126 and 0.040 at 1 MHz, respectively.The ferroelectric properties of these BNF nanotubes were demonstrated with a remnant polarization of 48 μC/cm2 and a coercive electric field of 163 kV/cm.WANG Jing LI MeiYa LIU XiaoLian PEI Ling LIU Jun YU BenFang ZHAO XingZhong 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,16:3
11Borate-Modified,Flame-Retardant Paper Packaging Materials for Archive Conservation显示文摘Paper packaging materials like cardboards are widely used to protect archives which are a major kind of cultural relics.Unfortunately,paper is a combustible material,and thus exploring environment-friendly flame retardant for paper-based archive packaging material plays an important role.Herein,boric acid,borax and disodium octaborate are used to modify the craft paper-based packaging materials for archive conservation to improve fire safety.The modified craft paper exhibits much higher flame retardancy than the pristine one dose based on vertical burning tests,without much influence on mechanical properties such as tensile strength and elongation at break.Thermogravimetric analysis(TGA),scanning electron microscope(SEM),and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)reveal that porous glass structure is formed during the combustion,because thermal decomposition of boric acid,borax and disodium octaborate will produce porous glassy matter as B_(2)O_(3).The porous glass covers the paper surface as an insulating layer which retards the further pyrolysis and combustion,resulting in a denser carbon layer.Our study provides a robust way to reduce the fire hazard of the archive packaging material by applying environment-friendly boron-based fire retardants.Juanli Wang Ming Cao Jiaxin Li Kaiyuan Li Xiaolian Chao Bingjie Mai Yuhu Li Jing Cao 2022Journal of Renewable Materials2022,10,4:2
12Pressure induced convergence of conduction bands in Al doped Mg_(2)Si: Experiment and theory显示文摘High-pressure and high-temperature(HPHT)synthesis provides an effective way to tune the band structure of materials and improve their electronic properties.To investigate the influence of synthesis pressure on electronic properties,Mg_(1.97)Al_(0.03)Si samples were synthesized using the HPHT method.The maximum effective mass 0.92me is obtained for the sample prepared with the synthesis pressure of 3 GPa,leading to the biggest Seebeck coefficient201.3 mV/K at room temperature.Meanwhile,the 3 GPa sample obtains the higher electron carrier concentration and electrical conductivity,resulting in nearly overall enhancement of power factor.The Density Functional Theory(DFT)calculations evidences that the Conduction Bands Minimum(CBM)can be tuned effectively by applied pressure and the convergence of the CBM leads to a larger effective mass of DOS,which are beneficial to the enhancement of power factors.These results indicate that high-pressure is a powerful tool to tune Mg_(1.97)Al_(0.03)Si band structures.Jialiang Li Xiaolian Zhang Bo Duan Yunlong Cui Houjiang Yang Hongtao Wang Junchao Li Xiaojun Hu Gang Chen Pengcheng Zhai 2019Journal of Materiomics2019,5,1:2
13Optimization of Extraction Process and Antioxidant Activity of Polysaccharide in Embelia parviflora Wall.by RSM显示文摘[Objectives]To optimize the extraction process of polysaccharide in Embelia parviflora Wall.by response surface methodology,and to study the antioxidant activity in vitro of polysaccharide in E.parviflora,so as to provide a basis for the further development and utilization of E.parviflora.[Methods]The solid-to-liquid ratio,extraction temperature,extraction time and extraction times were used as single factors to investigate the effects.On this basis,the response surface methodology(RSM)was used to optimize the extraction process of polysaccharide in E.parviflora.DPPH and ABTS free radicals were used to investigate the antioxidant capacity of polysaccharide in E.parviflora.[Results]The optimal solid-to-liquid ratio for extraction of polysaccharide from E.parviflora was 32∶1(mL/g),extraction temperature was 77℃,and extraction time was 36 min.The IC50 values of DPPH and ABTS were 0.04 and 0.03 mg/mL,respectively.[Conclusions]The optimized extraction process of polysaccharide in E.parviflora is stable,the extraction rate is high,and has strong antioxidant activity.It is expected to provide a reference for the industrial extraction of polysaccharide from E.parviflora.Wenli LI Xianxian LIU Xiaolian LIANG Yong CHEN Danqing PANG Zhouyan HUANG Qian HAN Wenjun LIU Liangni CHEN 2020Medicinal Plant2020,11,3:2

15Study on the temperature dependence of BGO light yield显示文摘The temperature dependence of BGO coupled with photomultiplier tube R5610A-01 was studied in the range of-30–30℃. The temperature coefficient of the BGO and R5610 A as a whole was tested to be-1.82%/℃. And the temperature coefficient of the gain of the R5610 A is-0.44%/℃ which was tested in the same situation using a blue LED. 17High performance inkjet-printed QLEDs with 18.3% EQE: improving interfacial contact by novel halogen-free binary solvent system显示文摘Poly[(9,9-dioctylfluorenyl-2,7-diyl)-alt(4,4′-(N-(4-butylphenyl))](TFB),one of the most popular and widely used hole-transport layer(HTL)materials,has been successfully applied in high performance spin-coated quantum dots-based light-emitting diodes(QLEDs)due to its suitable energy level and high mobility.However,there are still many challenging issues in inkjet-printed QLED devices when using TFB as HTL.TFB normally suffers from the interlayer mixing and erosion,and low surface energy against the good film formation.Here,a novel environment-friendly binary solvent system was established for formulating quantum dot(QD)inks,which is based on mixing halogen-free alkane solvents of decalin and n-tridecane.The optimum volume ratio for the mixture of decalin and n-tridecane was found to be 7:3,at which a stable ink jetting flow and coffee-ring free QD films could be formed.To research the influence of substrate surface on the formation of inkjet-printed QD films,TFB was annealed at different temperatures,and the optimum annealing temperature was found to enable high quality inkjet-printed QD film.Inkjet-printed red QLED was ultimately manufactured.A maximum 18.3%of external quantum efficiency(EQE)was achieved,reaching 93%of the spin-coated QLED,which is the best reported high efficiency inkjet-printed red QLEDs to date.In addition,the inkjet-printed QLED achieved similar T75 operational lifetime(27 h)as compared to the spin-coated reference QLED(28 h)at 2,000 cd·m−2.This work demonstrated that the novel orthogonal halogen-free alkane co-solvents can improve the interfacial contact and facilitate high-performance inkjet printing QLEDs with high EQE and stability.Ming Chen Liming Xie Changting Wei Yuan-Qiu-Qiang Yi Xiaolian Chen Jian Yang Jinyong Zhuang Fushan Li Wenming Su Zheng Cui 2021Nano Research2021,14,11:2

19Ficolins and infectious diseases显示文摘Ficolins are serum complement lectins,with a structure similar to mannose-binding lectin(MBL) and lung surfactant protein(SP)-A and SP-D.Ficolins activate the lectin complement system and play important roles in host innate immunity.Ficolins are members of the collectin family of proteins,which act as pattern recognition receptors(PRRs).They are soluble oligomeric defense proteins with lectin-like activity,and are able to recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns(PAMPs),which are carbohydrate molecules on the surface of pathogens,and of apoptotic,necrotic,and malignant cells.Upon binding to their specific PAMPs,ficolins may trigger activation of the immune system either(1) by initiating activation of complement via the lectin pathway,(2) by a primitive type of opsonophagocytosis,or(3) by stimulating secretion of the inflammatory cytokines interferon(IFN)-y,interleukin(IL)-17,IL-6,and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-a,and production of nitric oxide(NO)by macrophages,thus limiting the infection and concurrently orchestrating the subsequent adaptive immune response.Recently,a number of reports have shown that dysfunction or abnormal expression of ficolins may play crucial roles in viral and bacterial diseases and in inflammation.This review summarizes the reports on the roles of ficolins in the infectious diseases,and provides insight into ficolins as novel innate immune therapeutic options to treat these diseases.Yushan Ren Quanquan Ding Xiaolian Zhang 2014Virologica Sinica2014,29,1:2
20Evaluation of spatial epitope computational tools based on experimentally-confirmed dataset for protein antigens显示文摘Antibody molecules interact with antigen proteins through the epitope area,where the epitope residues are found to be discontinuous or spatial or conformational rather than linear on the protein surface.There are various computational algorithms to predict the spatial epitopes,and each of them have an outstanding performance based on their individual testing dataset.In this work,an independent dataset was created through collection of the epitope residual sites which have been confirmed by experiments. Based on this dataset,6 popular web-servers developed for B-cell structural epitope prediction,including SEPPA,CEP,DiscoTope,ElliPro,PEPOP and BEpro,were evaluated and compared according to sensitivity,the positive predictive value,the successful pick-up rate and the area under the curve of the receiver operator characteristic(AUC).The results showed that the general performance of spatial epitope prediction tools did obtain substantial advancement,and SEPPA gave the best performance among the 6 tools.However,the current prediction accuracy was still far from satisfaction.Moreover,our comparison elucidated that the performance of the web-servers was significantly affected by their training datasets and the algorithms adopted.In this sense,the results of our research may improve the design of B-cell epitope prediction tools and provide additional clues when the users utilize these tools in their related research.XU XiaoLian SUN Jing LIU Qi WANG XiaoJing XU TianLei ZHU RuiXin WU Di CAO ZhiWei 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,20:2
