| 1 | Xa7, a new executor R gene that confers durable and broad-spectrum resistance to bacterial blight disease in rice显示文摘Bacterial blight(BB)is a globally devastating rice disease caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae(Xoo).The use of disease resistance(R)genes in rice breeding is an effective and economical strategy for the control of this disease.Nevertheless,a majority of R genes lack durable resistance for long-term use under global warming conditions.Here,we report the isolation of a novel executor R gene,Xa7,that confers extremely durable,broad-spectrum,and heat-tolerant resistance to Xoo.The expression of Xa7 was induced by incompatible Xoo strains that secreted the transcription activator-like effector(TALE)AvrXa7 or PthXo3,which recognized effector binding elements(EBEs)in the Xa7 promoter.Furthermore,Xa7 induction was faster and stronger under high temperatures.Overexpression of Xa7 or co-transformation of Xa7 with avrXa7 triggered a hypersensitive response in plants.Constitutive expression of Xa7 activated a defense response in the absence of Xoo but inhibited the growth of transgenic rice plants.In addition,analysis of over 3000 rice varieties showed that the Xa7 locuswas found primarily in the indica and aus subgroups.A variation consisting of an 11-bp insertion and a base substitution(G to T)was found in EBEAvrXa7 in the tested varieties,resulting in a loss of Xa7 BB resistance.Through a decade of effort,we have identified an important BB resistance gene and characterized its distinctive interaction with Xoo strains;these findings will greatly facilitate research on the molecular mechanism of Xa7-mediated resistance and promote the use of this valuable gene in breeding. | Xifeng Chen Pengcheng Liu Le Mei Xiaoling He Long Chen Hui Liu Shurong Shen Zhandong Ji Xixi Zheng Yuchen Zhang Zhenyu Gao Dali Zeng Qian Qian Bojun Ma | 2021 | Plant Communications2021,2,3: | 9 |

| 17 | A real-world study of immune checkpoint inhibitors in advanced triple-negative breast cancer显示文摘Background:Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)is the most aggressive type of breast cancer.Immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)have been widely used to treat various tumors and have changed the landscape of tumor management,but the data from real-world studies of ICIs for TNBC treatment remain limited.The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of ICIs in the treatment of patients with advanced TNBC in a real-world setting and to explore possible correlates.Methods:The clinical data of advanced TNBC patients who received ICI treatment in the Chinese People's Liberation Army(PLA)General Hospital were collected.Treatment responses,outcomes and adverse events(AEs)were assessed.Results:Eighty-one patients were included in the study.The confirmed objective response rate(ORR)was 32.1%,and the disease control rate(DCR)was 64.2%.The median progression-free survival(PFS)was 4.2 months,and the median overall survival(OS)was 11.0 months.PFS and OS were longer in patients who achieved clinical benefit from ICIs and shorter in patients who received later-line ICIs and higher levels of inflammation;specifically,patients with higher TILs had longer PFS.Overall AEs were tolerable.Conclusions:ICIs are effective in the treatment of advanced TNBC,and the adverse reactions are tolerable.A panel of biomarkers including LDH,ALP,and bNLR were identified to predict the efficacies of ICIs in TNBC treatment. | Zheng Zhang Yadi Zhang Chuanling Liu Jiakang Shao Yimeng Chen Yimin Zhu Li Zhang Boyu Qin Ziqing Kong Xixi Wang Yutong Wang Deqin Huang Liqun Liu Yuxin Zhou Ran Tao Zengjie Yang Mei Liu Weihong Zhao | 2023 | Cancer Innovation2023,2,3: | 0 |

| 19 | Spatial Differences and Influencing Factors of Dissolved Gaseous Mercury in the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea in Spring显示文摘From 28 March to 17 April, 2018, different forms of mercury(Hg) in the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea were measured to study the influencing factors on the distribution and transformation of Hg in spring using a shared cruise. The mean concentration of dissolved gaseous mercury(DGM) in the surface water of the Yellow and Bohai Seas was(44.3 ± 43.9) pg/L, which was close to that in mid-latitude oceans and deep seas. The ratio of DGM to THg(total mercury) was lower than in the oceans and in the Yellow and Bohai Seas in summer or fall. DGM concentrations in surface water were highest in the central part of the South Yellow Sea and were higher than those in the Bohai Sea, and their spatial distributions were consistent with RHg(reactive mercury). DGM and RHg correlated positively with water temperature in surface seawater(r = 0.506, P < 0.01;r = 0.278, P < 0.05). The concentrations of both DGM and RHg in surface water were controlled by solar radiation and water temperature. Foggy weather did not benefit the production of DGM and RHg. DGM in the bottom seawater was mainly affected by Dissolved Oxygen and water temperature(r =-0.366, P < 0.01;r = 0.331, P < 0.01), produced mainly by anaerobic reactions of the bottom seawater and sediment microorganisms. The bottom DGM concentrations in the Yellow and Bohai Seas were the highest, and DGM produced in bottom seawater and sediment plays a more important role than the surface water in spring. The concentrations of DGM and RHg in the surface and bottom water in the South Yellow Sea were all higher than those in the middle layer. Vertical variations in the North Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea were small.
