| 2 | A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. | 3 | Characterization of Bacterial Community Associated with Four Organs of the Yesso Scallop (Patinopecten yessoensis) by High-Throughput Sequencing显示文摘We used Illumina high-throughput sequencing of PCR-amplified V3-V4 16 S rRNA gene regions to characterize bacterial communities associated with the adductor muscles, gills, gonads and intestines of the Yesso scallop(Patinopecten yessoensis) from waters around Zhangzidao, Dalian, China. Overall, 421,276 optimized reads were classified as 25 described bacterial phyla and 308 genera. Firmicutes, Proteobacteria, Tenericutes, Bacteroidetes, Chlamydiae and Spirochaetae accounted for > 97% of the total reads in the four organs. The bacterial 16 S rDNA sequences assigned to Firmicutes and Proteobacteria were abundant in the adductor muscles, gills and gonads; while reads from Tenericutes were dominant in the intestines, followed by those from Firmicutes, Chlamydiae, Proteobacteria and Bacteroidetes. At the genus level, the dominant genera in the adductor muscles, gills and gonads appeared to be Bacillus, Enterococcus and Lactococcus, whereas Mycoplasma was dominant in the intestines. The relative abundances of Bacillus, Enterococcus, Lactococcus, Alkaliphilus, Raoultella, Paenibacillus and Oceanobacillus were significantly lower in the intestine than in the other three organs. Cluster analysis and principal coordinates analysis of the operational taxonomy units profile revealed significant differences in the bacterial community structure between the intestine and the other three organs. Taken together, these results suggest that scallops have intestine-specific bacterial communities and the adductor muscles, gills and gonads harbor similar communities. | 4 | Main Mechanism for Generating Overpressure in the Paleogene Source Rock Series of the Chezhen Depression,Bohai Bay Basin, China显示文摘The Chezhen depression,located in the south of Bohai Bay Basin,is an oil-producing basin in China. The third and fourth members of the Shahejie Formation(E(s3) and E(s4)) are the main source rock series in the Chezhen depression. Widespread overpressures occurred in the E(s3) and E(s4) from the depths of approximately 2 000 to 4 600 m,with the maximum pressure coefficient of 1.98 from drillstem tests(DST). Among the sonic,resistivity and density logs,sonic-log is the only reliable pressure indicator and can be used to predict the pore pressure with Eaton's method. All the overpressured mudstones in the source rock series have higher acoustic traveltimes compared with normally pressured mudstones at a given depth. The overpressured mudstones in the E(s3) and E(s4) units are characterized by a normal geothermal gradient,high average density values up to 2.5 g/cm^3,strong present-day hydrocarbon generation capability,abundant mature organic matter and high contents of residual hydrocarbons estimated by the Rock-Eval S1 values and chloroform-soluble bitumen 'A' values. All suggest that the dominant mechanism for overpressure in the mudstones of source rock series in the Chezhen depression is hydrocarbon generation. A comparison between the matrix porosity of the normally pressured sandstones and overpressured sandstones,the quantitative evaluation of porosity loss caused by compaction and the conventional thin section inspection demonstrate that the sandstones in the Chezhen depression were normally compacted. | 5 | Real-world emission characteristics of carbonyl compounds from agricultural machines based on a portable emission measurement system显示文摘Emissions of carbonyl compounds from agricultural machines cannot be ignored.Carbonyl compounds can cause the formation of ozone(O3)and secondary organic aerosols,which can cause photochemical smog to form.In this study,20 agricultural machines were tested using portable emission measurement system(PEMS)under real-world tillage processes.The exhaust gases were sampled using 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine cartridges,and 15 carbonyl compounds were analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography.Carbonyl compound emission factors for agricultural machines were 51.14–3315.62 mg/(kg-fuel),and were 2.58±2.05,0.86±1.07 and 0.29±0.20 g/(kg-fuel)for China 0,China II and China III emission standards,respectively.Carbonyl compound emission factor for sowing seeds of China 0 agricultural machines was 3.32±1.73 g/(kg-fuel).Formaldehyde,acetaldehyde and acrolein were the dominant carbonyl compounds emitted.Differences in emission standards and tillage processes impact ozone formation potential(OFP).The mean OFP was 20.15±16.15 g O3/(kg-fuel)for the China 0 emission standard.The OFP values decreased by 66.9% from China 0 to China II,and 67.4%from China II to China III.The mean OFP for sowing seeds of China 0 agricultural machines was 25.92±13.84 g O3/(kg-fuel).Between 1.75 and 24.22 times more ozone was found to be formed during sowing seeds than during other processes for China 0 and China II agricultural machines.Total carbonyl compound emissions from agricultural machines in China was 19.23 Gg in 2019.The results improve our understanding of carbonyl compound emissions from agricultural machines in China. | Wenhan Yu Xianbao Shen BoboWu Lei Kong Kaijie Xuan Cheng Zhao Xinyue Cao Xuewei Hao Xin Li Hanyu Zhang Zhiliang Yao | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,2: | 1 |

| 7 | Brasenia-inspired hydrogel with sustained and sequential release of BMP and WNT activators for improved bone regeneration显示文摘Although bone morphogenetic protein(BMP) and WNT signaling play pivotal roles in bone development,homeostasis, and regeneration, the applications of proteins to stimulate corresponding signaling pathways showed limited outcomes in the repair and regeneration of bone defects that might be attributed to the reciprocal interventions of these pathways. In order to satisfy the combinational and sequential activation of BMP and WNT pathways, inspired by the heterogeneous hydrogel-liked structures of Brasenia, heterogeneous alginate/chitosan hydrogels were fabricated and spatially loaded with FK506 and BIO to achieve sustained and sequential release of the activators. Alkaline phosphatase staining, alizarin red staining and q RT-PCR results suggested that FK506 and BIO enhanced osteoblastic differentiation in vitro when used separately. Besides, by mixing and matching the activators and the hydrogel layers, a superior releasing mode that a combination of early FK506 release and following BIO release was identified via both in vitro and in vivo explorations for most efficient bone regeneration. | 8 | Effects of mesencephalic astrocyte-derived neurotrophic factor on sepsis-associated acute kidney injury显示文摘BACKGROUND:To determine the protective role of mesencephalic astrocyte-derived neurotrophic factor(MANF) in regulating sepsis-associated acute kidney injury(S-AKI).METHODS:A total of 96 mice were randomly divided into the control group,control+MANF group,S-AKI group,and S-AKI+MANF group.The S-AKI model was established by injecting lipopolysaccharide(LPS) at 10 mg/kg intraperitoneally.MANF(200 μg/kg) was administered to the control+MANF and S-AKI+MANF groups.An equal dose of normal saline was administered daily intraperitoneally in the control and S-AKI groups.Serum and kidney tissue samples were obtained for biochemical analysis.Western blotting was used to detect the protein expression of MANF in the kidney,and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) was used to determine expression of MANF in the serum,pro-inflammatory cytokines(tumor necrosis factor-α [TNF-α] and interleukin-6 [IL-6]).Serum creatinine(SCr),and blood urea nitrogen(BUN)were examined using an automatic biochemical analyzer.In addition,the kidney tissue was observed for pathological changes by hematoxylin-eosin staining.The comparison between two groups was performed by unpaired Student’s t-test,and statistics among multiple groups were carried out using Tukey’s post hoc test following one-way analysis of variance(ANOVA).A P-value <0.05 was considered statistically significant.RESULTS:At the early stage of S-AKI,MANF in the kidney tissue was up-regulated,but with the development of the disease,it was down-regulated.Renal function was worsened in the S-AKI group,and TNF-α and IL-6 were elevated.The administration of MANF significantly alleviated the elevated levels of SCr and BUN and inhibited the expression of TNF-α and IL-6 in the kidney.The pathological changes were more extensive in the S-AKI group than in the S-AKI+MANF group.CONCLUSION:MANF treatment may significantly alleviate renal injury,reduce the inflammatory response,and alleviate or reverse kidney tissue damage.MANF may have a protective effect on S-AKI,suggesting a potential treatment for S-AKI. | Saifeng Chen Xuewei Hao Guo Chen Guorong Liu Xiaoyan Yuan Peiling Shen Dongfeng Guo | 2023 | World Journal of Emergency Medicine2023,14,5: | 0 |

| 12 | Chemical characterization of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted from multiple cooking cuisines and purification efficiency assessments显示文摘Cooking process can produce abundant volatile organic compounds(VOCs),which are harmful to environment and human health.Therefore,we conducted a comprehensive analysis in which VOCs emissions from multiple cuisines have been sampled based on the simulation and acquisition platform,involving concentration characteristics,ozone formation potential(OFP)and purification efficiency assessments.VOCs emissions varied from 1828.5 to 14,355.1μg/m^(3),with the maximumand minimumvalues fromBarbecue and Family cuisine,respectively.Alkanes and alcohol had higher contributions to VOCs from Sichuan and Hunan cuisine(64.1%),Family cuisine(66.3%),Shandong cuisine(69.1%)and Cantonese cuisine(69.8%),with the dominant VOCs species of ethanol,isobutane and n-butane.In comparison,alcohols(79.5%)were abundant for Huaiyang cuisine,while alkanes(19.7%),alkenes(35.9%)and haloalkanes(22.9%)accounted for higher proportions from Barbecue.Specially,carbon tetrachloride,n-hexylene and 1-butene were the most abundant VOCs species for Barbecue,ranging from 8.8%to 14.6%.The highest OFP occurred in Barbecue.The sensitive species of OFP for Huaiyang cuisine were alcohols,while other cuisines were alkenes.Purification efficiency assessments shed light on the removal differences of individual and synergistic control technologies.VOCs emissions exhibited a strong dependence on the photocatalytic oxidation,with the removal efficiencies of 29.0%–54.4%.However,the high voltage electrostatic,wet purification and mechanical separation techniques played a mediocre or even counterproductive role in the VOCs reduction,meanwhile collaborative control technologies could not significantly improve the removal efficiency.Our results identifiedmore effective control technologies,which were conductive to alleviating air pollution from cooking emissions. | Hanyu Zhang XuejunWang Xianbao Shen Xin Li BoboWu Guohao Li Huahua Bai Xinyue Cao Xuewei Hao Qi Zhou Zhiliang Yao | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,8: | 0 |

| 14 | Sulfation of the extracellular polysaccharide from the edible fungus Stropharia rugosoannulata with its antioxidant activity显示文摘An acidic extracellular polysaccharide(EPS)was gained from Stropharia rugosoannulata fermentation broth by the alcohol precipitate method.Sulfated derivative of EPS(S-EPS)was gained by chlorosulfonic acid-pyridine method and the conditions were as follows:pyridine as the reaction solvent,temperature 80°C,and reaction time 90 min.The chemical structure and chain conformation of EPS and S-EPS were characterized by FT-IR,NMR and size exclusion chromatography(SEC)coupled with multi-angle laser light scattering(MALLS)detection.FT-IR spectra indicated the sulfated group was linked to the polymer.The EPS mainly consists of mannose,glucose and glucuronic acid,and the glycosidic bond type is mainly(1→4)-linked and(1→6)-linked.C6 and C2 were substituted by sulfate groups.The EPS was degraded into smaller molecular weight(Mw)polysaccharides with the larger molecular size(Rg)after sulfation and S-EPS has better hydrophilicity.Moreover,the sulfated derivative S-EPS was found to have a better scavenging ability on hydroxyl radicals than EPS.It proved that the chemical modification of S.rugosoannulata polysaccharides by sulfation effectively enhanced their antioxidant activity. | Hui Hao Chun Cui Yuqing Xing Xuewei Jia Bingjie Ma Wenyi Kang Tianxiao Li Mingqi Gao Chunping Xu | 2023 | Journal of Future Foods2023,3,1: | 0 |
