1Segmentation of Hematoxylin-Eosin stained breast cancer histopathological images based on pixel-wise SVM classifier显示文摘Hematoxylin-Eosin(HE) staining is the routine diagnostic method for breast cancer(BC), and large amounts of HE stained histopathological images are available for analysis. It is emergent to develop computational methods to efficiently and objectively analyze these images, with the aim of providing potentially better diagnostic and prognostic information for BC. This work focuses on analyzing our in-house HE stained histopathological images of breast cancer tissues. Since tumor nests(TNs) and stroma morphological characteristics can reflect the biological behaviors of breast invasive ductal carcinoma(IDC), accurate segmentation of TNs and the stroma is the first step towards the subsequent quantitative analysis. We first propose a method based on the pixel-wise support vector machine(SVM) classifier for segmenting TNs and the stroma, then extract four morphological characters related to the TNs from the images and investigate their relationships with the patients' 8-year disease free survival(8-DFS). The evaluation result shows that the classification based segmentation method is able to distinguish between TNs and stroma with 87.1% accuracy and 80.2% precision,suggesting that the proposed method is promising in segmenting HE stained IDC histopathological images. 2In situ construction of ligand nano-network to integrin αvβ3 for angiogenesis inhibition显示文摘Angiogenesis occurs during the process of tumor growth,invasion and metastasis,and is essential for the survival of solid tumors.As an integrin significantly ove rexpressed in human tumor vascular endothelial cells,αvβ3 is a suitable targeting site for anti-angiogenesis of tumor.We designed and prepared a selfassembling peptide(SAP)with the ability to targeting αvβ3 and self-assembly.SAP formed nanoparticles in solution and transformed into nanofibrous network once specifically binding to integrin αvβ3 on the surface of human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs).The SAP network stably anchored on HUVECs over 24h,which consequently resulted in high-efficient inhibition of vascularization.In vitro anti-angiogenesis experiment displayed that the inhibition rate of tube-formation reached 94.9%.In vivo anti-angiogenesis array based on chick chorioallantoic membrane(CAM)model exhibited that the SAP had an inhibition rate up to 63.1%.These results indicated the outstanding anti-angiogenic ability of SAP,potentially for tumor therapy.Ziming Chen Kuo Zhang Jiaqi Fan Yu Fan Chao Yang Wen Tian Yuan Li Wenliang Li Jingping Zhang Hao Wang Lei Wang 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,12:2

5Sex differences of brain cortical structure in major depressive disorder显示文摘Background:Major depressive disorder(MDD)has different clinical presentations in males and females.However,the neuroanatom-ical mechanisms underlying these sex differences are not fully understood.Objective:The purpose of present study was to explore the sex differences in brain cortical thickness(CT)and surface area(SA)of MDD and the relationship between these differences and clinical manifestations in different gender.Methods:High-resolution T1-weighted images were acquired from 61 patients with MDD and 61 healthy controls(36 females and 25 males,both).The sex differences in CT and SA were obtained using the FreeSurfer software and compared between every two groups by post hoc test.Spearman correlation analysis was also performed to explore the relationships between these regions and clinical characteristics.Results:In male patients with MDD,the CT of the right precentral was thinner compared to female patients,although this did not survive Bonferroni correction.The SA of several regions,including right superior frontal,medial orbitofrontal gyrus,inferior frontal gyrus triangle,superior temporal,middle temporal,lateral occipital gyrus,and inferior parietal lobule in female patients with MDD was smaller than that in male patients(P<0.01 after Bonferroni correction).In female patients,the SA of the right superior temporal(r=0.438,P=0.008),middle temporal(r=0.340,P=0.043),and lateral occipital gyrus(r=0.372,P=0.025)were positively correlated with illness duration.Conclusion:The current study provides evidence of sex differences in CT and SA in patients with MDD,which may improve our understanding of the sex-specific neuroanatomical changes in the development of MDD.Jingping Mou Ting Zheng Zhiliang Long Lan Mei Yuting Wang Yizhi Yuan Xin Guo Hongli Yang Qiyong Gong Lihua Qiu 2023Psychoradiology2023,3,1:0
6A potential threat from biodegradable microplastics: mechanism of cadmium adsorption and desorption in the simulated gastrointestinal environment显示文摘It has been demonstrated that microplastics (MPs) can accumulate heavy metals from the environment and transfer them into organisms via the food chain. However, adsorption and desorption capacities for biodegradable MPs relative to those for conventional MPs remain poorly understood. In this study, cadmium (Cd(II)) adsorption and desorption characteristics of polylactic acid (PLA), a typical biodegradable MP, were investigated. Two conventional MPs, i.e., polypropylene (PP) and polyamide (PA) were used for comparison. The maximum Cd(II) adsorption capacities of the MPs studied in the adsorption experiments decreased in the order PA (0.96 ± 0.07 mg/g) > PLA (0.64 ± 0.04 mg/g) > PP (0.22 ± 0.03 mg/g). The Pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Freundlich isothermal model described the Cd(II) adsorption behaviors of PLA MPs well. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and two-dimensional Fourier transform infrared correlation spectroscopy analysis indicated that oxygen functional groups were the major and preferential binding sites of PLA MPs, which contributed to their high Cd(II) adsorption capacities. Simulated gastric and intestinal fluids both significantly enhanced the desorption capacities of the examined MPs. Notably, degradation of the PLA MPs during in vitro human digestion made the Cd(II) on the PLA MPs more bioaccessible (19% in the gastric phase and 62% in the intestinal phase) than Cd(II) on the PP and PA MPs. 7Foraminiferal Changes and Response to the Channel Diversion and Discharge Fluctuation of the Yellow River in the North Yellow Sea During the Past Century显示文摘Diversion of the Yellow River is a unique geological event in offshore China,causing changes of the sedimentary environment in eastern China Seas.The last diversion took place in AD 1855,with the estuary diverted from the Yellow Sea into the Bohai Sea.The identification of the river diversion events in the shelf sediments would not only provide the definite ages for the sediments,but also give a clue for better understanding of the sedimentation in that area.In this study,210 Pb,grain size,geochemical element,and foraminiferal data in core H205 from the north Yellow Sea were systematically investigated.A high-resolution sedimentary record was established,which was coupled with the Yellow River diversion and runoff changes.The results show that the foraminiferal composition and foraminiferal abundance of the sediments from the north Yellow Sea had good response to the Yellow River diversion in 1855.Before the change,shallow water assemblages dominated the foraminifera,and the abundance of each foraminiferal species was very low.After the diversion event,the abundance of most foraminifera increased sharply,with a maximum increase of 16 times,and the assemblage was still dominated by shallow water species.Furthermore,the changes in foraminiferal abundance in the core sediments corresponded well with the discharge fluctuation of the Yellow River since 1855.When the Yellow River began entering the Bohai Sea,the Yellow River water,which is rich in nutrients,along with the coastal currents affected the north Yellow Sea,increased the primary productivity in the north Yellow Sea,which is the main reason for the abrupt increase and fluctuation of foraminiferal abundance in this area.At the meantime,the East Asian winter monsoon could also promote the development of nearshore foraminiferal species by enhancing the coastal currents.ZHENG Shiwen FAN Dejiang TIAN Yuan XU Jingping 2019Journal of Ocean University of China2019,18,6:0
8An Innovative Finite Element Geometric Modeling of Single-Layer Multi-Bead WAAMed Part显示文摘Finite element (FE) coupled thermal-mechanical analysis is widely used to predict the deformation and residualstress of wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) parts. In this study, an innovative single-layermulti-bead profilegeometric modeling method through the isosceles trapezoid function is proposed to build the FE model of theWAAMprocess. Firstly, a straight-line model for overlapping beads based on the parabola function was establishedto calculate the optimal center distance. Then, the isosceles trapezoid-based profile was employed to replace theparabola profiles of the parabola-based overlapping model to establish an innovative isosceles trapezoid-basedmulti-bead overlapping geometric model. The rationality of the isosceles trapezoid-based overlapping model wasconfirmed by comparing the geometric deviation and the heat dissipation performance index of the two overlappingmodels. In addition, the FE-coupled thermal-mechanical analysis, as well as a comparative experiment of thesingle-layer eight-bead deposition process show that the simulation results of the above two models agree with theexperimental results. At the same time, the proposed isosceles trapezoid-based overlappingmodels are all straightlineprofiles, which can be divided into high-quality FE elements. It can improve the modeling efficiency andshorten the simulation calculation time. 9Transcriptome analysis reveals tumor antigen and immune subtypes of melanoma显示文摘Purpose:To screen potential tumor antigens for melanoma vaccine development and identify different immune subtypes.Methods:Transcriptional data(HTSEQ-FPKM)and clinical information of a 472 Melanoma cohort GDC TCGA Melanoma(SKCM)were downloaded from the UCSC XENA website(http://xena.ucsc.edu/).Subsequently,transcriptome data and clinical information of 210 melanoma cohort GSE65904 were downloaded from Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO),a large global public database.All the transcriptome expression data matrices were log2 transformed for subsequent analysis.GEPIA,TIMER,and IMMPORT databases are also used for analysis.Cell function experiments were performed to validate the role of the IDO1 gene in melanoma cell line A375.Results:Our study provides potential tumor antigens for vaccine development in melanoma patients:GZMB,GBP4,CD79A,APOBEC3F,IDO1,JCHAIN,LAG3,PLA2G2D,XCL2.In addition,we divide melanoma patients into two immune subtypes that have significant differences in tumor immunity and may have different responses to vaccination.In view of the unclear role of IDO1 in melanoma,we selected IDO1 for cell assay validation.Cell function assay showed that IDO1 was significantly overexpressed in the melanoma A375 cell line.After IDO1 knockdown,the activity,invasion,migration and healing ability of A375 cell lines were significantly decreased.Conclusion:Our study could provide a reference for the development of vaccines for melanoma patients.JIAHENG XIE MENGMENG OU PAN YU DAN WU QIKAI TANG YUAN CAO JING HANG LU YIN TINGHONG XIANG MING WANG JINGPING SHI 2023Oncology Research2023,31,3:0
10Deep reinforcement learning-based resource allocation for D2D communications in heterogeneous cellular networks显示文摘Device-to-Device(D2D)communication-enabled Heterogeneous Cellular Networks(HCNs)have been a promising technology for satisfying the growing demands of smart mobile devices in fifth-generation mobile networks.The introduction of Millimeter Wave(mm-wave)communications into D2D-enabled HCNs allows higher system capacity and user data rates to be achieved.However,interference among cellular and D2D links remains severe due to spectrum sharing.In this paper,to guarantee user Quality of Service(QoS)requirements and effectively manage the interference among users,we focus on investigating the joint optimization problem of mode selection and channel allocation in D2D-enabled HCNs with mm-wave and cellular bands.The optimization problem is formulated as the maximization of the system sum-rate under QoS constraints of both cellular and D2D users in HCNs.To solve it,a distributed multiagent deep Q-network algorithm is proposed,where the reward function is redefined according to the optimization objective.In addition,to reduce signaling overhead,a partial information sharing strategy that does not observe global information is proposed for D2D agents to select the optimal mode and channel through learning.Simulation results illustrate that the proposed joint optimization algorithm possesses good convergence and achieves better system performance compared with other existing schemes.Yuan Zhi Jie Tian Xiaofang Deng Jingping Qiao Dianjie Lu 2022Digital Communications and Networks2022,8,5:0
11Effects of seagrass leaf litter decomposition on sediment organic carbon composition and the key transformation processes显示文摘Seagrass leaf litters are an important source of sediment organic carbon(SOC). However, the mechanisms of seagrass leaf litter decomposition influencing SOC composition and the key transformation processes remain unknown. We performed a laboratory chamber experiment to compare the labile organic carbon(OC) composition and the enzyme activities governing SOC transformation between the seagrass group(seagrass leaf litter addition) and the control group. The results showed that the seagrass leaf litter decomposition significantly elevated the salt-extractable carbon(SEC) content and the SEC/SOC. Additionally,the levels of invertase, polyphenol oxidase, and cellulase in the seagrass leaf litters addition group were generally higher than in the control group, which could elevate recalcitrant OC decomposition. Following 24 days incubation, addition of seagrass leaf litter increased the amount of CO_2 released, but decreased the SOC content. 12Multi-omics Analyses Provide Insight into the Biosynthesis Pathways of Fucoxanthin in Isochrysis galbana显示文摘Isochrysis galbana is considered an ideal bait for functional foods and nutraceuticals of humans because of its high fucoxanthin(Fx)content.However,multi-omics analysis of the regulatory networks for Fx biosynthesis in I.galbana has not been reported.In this study,we report a high-quality genome assembly of I.galbana LG007,which has a genome size of 92.73 Mb,with a contig N50 of 6.99 Mb and 14,900 protein-coding genes.Phylogenetic analysis confirmed the monophyly of Haptophyta,with I.galbana sister to Emiliania huxleyi and Chrysochromulina tobinii.Evolutionary analysis revealed an estimated divergence time between I.galbana and E.huxleyi of~133 million years ago.Gene family analysis indicated that lipid metabolism-related genes exhibited significant expansion,including IgPLMT,IgOAR1,and IgDEGS1.Metabolome analysis showed that the content of carotenoids in I.galbana cultured under green light for 7 days was higher than that under white light,andβ-carotene was the main carotenoid,accounting for 79.09%of the total carotenoids.Comprehensive multi-omics analysis revealed that the content ofβ-carotene,antheraxanthin,zeaxanthin,and Fx was increased by green light induction,which was significantly correlated with the expression of IgMYB98,IgZDS,IgPDS,IgLHCX2,IgZEP,IgLCYb,and IgNSY.These findings contribute to the understanding of Fx biosynthesis and its regulation,providing a valuable reference for food and pharmaceutical applications.Duo Chen Xue Yuan Xuehai Zheng Jingping Fang Gang Lin Rongmao Li Jiannan Chen Wenjin He Zhen Huang Wenfang Fan Limin Liang Chentao Lin Jinmao Zhu Youqiang Chen Ting Xue 2022Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2022,20,6:0
13Construction of one Ru_(2)W_(12)-cluster and six lacunary Keggin tungstoarsenate leading to the larger Ru-containing polyoxometalate photocatalyst显示文摘Construction of two Ru^(Ⅲ)cations and six lacunary Keggin fragments resulted in a novel Ru_(2)W_(12)-cluster{(RuO_(6))_(2)(WO_(3))_(12)(H_(2)O)_(12)}bridged polyoxometalate,NaH_(11)[(RuO_(6))(AsW_(9)O_(33))_(3){(W_(6)O_(3))(H_(2)O)_(6)}]_(2)53H_(2)O(NaH_(11)·1·53H_(2)O),which represent the largest cluster in all the Ru-containing polyoxometalates.The most interesting characteristic is that the symmetry-related Ru_(2)W_(12)-cluster-based hexamers contain two windmill-shaped[(RuO_(6))(AsW_(9)O_(33))_(3){(W_(6)O_(3))(H_(2)O)_(6)}]trimers or the Ru_(2)W_(12) cluster was tightly wrapped by six segments of B-β-AsW_(9)O_(33).The other remarkable feature is that there have one intriguing cubane structure:which is composed of the Ru(1,2)and W(1,28,50,51,52,53)atoms.The oxygenation reactions of anilines to azoxybenzenes was evaluated when NaH_(11)·1·53H_(2)O served as effective catalyst by probing various reaction.The inherent redox property of oxygen-rich polyoxometalate surfaces and high photocatalytic activity of the Ru-containing metal cluster imbedded in NaH_(11)·1·53H_(2)O provide sufficient driving force for the photocatalytic transformation from anilines to azoxybenzenes.The oxidation of anilines can be realized with higher selectivity to afford various azoxybenzene compounds.The durability test shows that Ru-doping catalyst displays excellent chemical stability during the photocatalytic process.Huafeng Li Mengnan Yang Zelong Yuan Yahao Sun Pengtao Ma Jingyang Niu Jingping Wang 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,10:0
