| 1 | Transplantation of collagen scaffold with autologous bone marrow mononuclear cells promotes functional endometrium reconstruction via downregulating ΔNp63 expression in Asherman's syndrome显示文摘Asherman's syndrome(AS) is a common disease that presents endometrial regeneration disorder. However, little is known about its molecular features of this aregenerative endometrium in AS and how to reconstruct the functioning endometrium for the patients with AS. Here, we report that ΔNp63 is significantly upregulated in residual epithelial cells of the impaired endometrium in AS; the upregulated-ΔNp63 induces endometrial quiescence and alteration of stemness. Importantly, we demonstrate that engrafting high density of autologous bone marrow mononuclear cells(BMNCs) loaded in collagen scaffold onto the uterine lining of patients with AS downregulates ΔNp63 expression, reverses ΔNp63-induced pathological changes, normalizes the stemness alterations and restores endometrial regeneration. Finally, five patients achieved successful pregnancies and live births. Therefore, we conclude that ΔNp63 is a crucial therapeutic target for AS. | 2 | Collagen-binding basic fibroblast growth factor improves functional remodeling of scarred endometrium in uterine infertile women: a pilot study显示文摘Intrauterine adhesion(IUA) is a common cause of uterine infertility and one of the most severe clinical features is endometrial fibrosis namely endometrial scarring for which there are few cures currently. Blocked angiogenesis is the main pathological change in the scarred endometrium. The fibroblast growth factor 2(b FGF), a member of FGF family, is usually applied to promote healing of refractory ulcer and contributes to angiogenesis of tissues. In this study, the sustained-release system of b FGF100 μg was administrated around scarred endometrium guiding by ultrasound every 4 weeks in 18 patients(2–4 times). Results showed that after treatment, the menstrual blood volume, endometrial thickness and the scarred endometrial area were improved.Histological study showed blood vessel density increased obviously. Three patients(3/18) achieved pregnancy over 20 gestational weeks. | 7 | The LRXs-RALFs-FER module controls plant growth and salt stress responses by modulating multiple plant hormones显示文摘Salt stress is a major environmental factor limiting plant growth and productivity.We recently discovered an important new salt tolerance pathway,where the cell wall leucine-rich repeat extensins LRX3/4/5,the RAPID ALKALINIZATION FACTOR(RALF)peptides RALF22/23 and receptor-like kinase FERONIA(FER)function as a module to simultaneously regulate plant growth and salt stress tolerance.However,the intracellular signaling pathways that are regulated by the extracellular LRX3/4/5-RALF22/23-FER module to coordinate growth,cell wall integrity and salt stress responses are still unknown.Here,we report that the LRX3/4/5-RALF22/23-FER module negatively regulates the levels of jasmonic acid(JA),salicylic acid(SA)and abscisic acid(ABA).Blocking JA pathway rescues the dwarf phenotype of the lrx345 and fer-4mutants,while disruption of ABA biosynthesis suppresses the salt-hypersensitivity of these mutants.Many salt stress-responsive genes display abnormal expression patterns in the lrx345 and fer-4 mutants,as well as in the wild type plants treated with epigallocatechin gallate(EGCG),an inhibitor of pectin methylesterases,suggesting cell wall integrity as a critical factor that determines the expression pattern of stress-responsive genes.Production of reactive oxygen species(ROS)is constitutively increased in the lrx345 and fer-4mutants,and inhibition of ROS accumulation suppresses the salt-hypersensitivity of these mutants.Together,our work provides strong evidence that the LRX3/4/5-RALF22/23-FER module controls plant growth and salt stress responses by regulating hormonal homeostasis and ROS accumulation. | Chunzhao Zhao Wei Jiang Omar Zayed Xin Liu Kai Tang Wenfeng Nie Yali Li Shaojun Xie Yuan Li Tiandan Long Linlin Liu Yingfang Zhu Yang Zhao Jian-Kang Zhu | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,1: | 3 |

| 10 | Enhanced U(Ⅵ) bioreduction by alginate-immobilized uranium-reducing bacteria in the presence of carbon nanotubes and anthraquinone-2,6-disulfonate显示文摘Uranium-reducing bacteria were immobilized with sodium alginate, anthraquinone-2,6-disulfonate(AQDS), and carbon nanotubes(CNTs). The effects of different AQDS-CNTs contents, U(Ⅳ) concentrations, and metal ions on U(Ⅳ) reduction by immobilized beads were examined. Over 97.5% U(Ⅵ)(20 mg/L) was removed in 8 hr when the beads were added to 0.7% AQDS-CNTs, which was higher than that without AQDS-CNTs. This result may be attributed to the enhanced electron transfer by AQDS and CNTs. The reduction of U(Ⅵ) occurred at initial U(Ⅵ) concentrations of 10 to 100 mg/L and increased with increasing AQDS-CNT content from 0.1% to 1%. The presence of Fe(Ⅲ), Cu(Ⅱ) and Mn(Ⅱ)slightly increased U(Ⅵ) reduction, whereas Cr(Ⅵ), Ni(Ⅱ), Pb(Ⅱ), and Zn(Ⅱ) significantly inhibited U(Ⅵ) reduction. After eight successive incubation-washing cycles or 8 hr of retention time(HRT) for 48 hr of continuous operation, the removal efficiency of uranium was above 90% and 92%, respectively.
