| 1 | Influence of soil type and genotype on Cd bioavailability and uptake by rice and implications for food safety显示文摘Cadmium(Cd) entering the human body via the food chain is of increasing concern.This study investigates the effects of soil type and genotype on variations in the Cd concentrations of different organs of nine rice plants grown on two types of soils with two Cd levels.Cd concentrations in nine rice cultivars varied significantly with genotype and soil type(P < 0.01).The Cd concentration was higher in red paddy soil(RP) than in yellow clayey paddy soil(YP).The average Cd concentrations of different organs in three rice types were indica > hybrid > japonica for the Cd treatments and controls.The polished grain concentration in YP and RP soils had a range of 0.055-0.23 mg/kg and 0.13-0.36 mg/kg in the Cd treatment,respectively.Two rice cultivars in YP soil and five rice cultivars in RP soil exceeded the concentration limits in the Chinese Food Hygiene Standard(0.2 mg/kg).The Cd concentrations in roots,stems,and leaves were all significantly and positively correlated to that in polished grain in a single test.The Cd concentrations in polished grain were positively and significantly(P < 0.01) correlated with the calculated transfer factors of stem to grain and leaf to grain Cd transfer.The results indicated that the variations of Cd concentration in grain were related to Cd uptake and the remobilization of Cd from stem and leaf to grain.Also,the cultivars with a strong tendency for Cd-accumulation should be avoided in paddy soil with low soil pH and low organic matter content to reduce the risks to human health from high Cd levels in rice. | Xinxin Ye Yibing Ma Bo Sun | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,9: | 34 |

Satellite payload includes nine instruments. Among them, we recall instruments for plasma analysis, electric,magnetic fields and high energy particle detectors. Langmuir probe(LP) and plasma analyzer package(PAP) are the in-situ payloads to measure space plasma. Its scientific objective is to research space plasma physics phenomena and the ionosphere changes caused by seismic. | 3 | Increased mtDNA copy number promotes cancer progression by enhancing mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer显示文摘Colorectal cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer death worldwide.According to global genomic status,colorectal cancer can be classified into two main types:microsatellite-stable and microsatellite-instable tumors.Moreover,the two subtypes also exhibit different responses to chemotherapeutic agents through distinctive molecular mechanisms.Recently,mitochondrial DNA depletion has been shown to induce apoptotic resistance in microsatellite-instable colorectal cancer.However,the effects of altered mitochondrial DNA copy number on the progression of microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer,which accounts for the majority of colorectal cancer,remain unclear.In this study,we systematically investigated the functional role of altered mitochondrial DNA copy number in the survival and metastasis of microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer cells.Moreover,the underlying molecular mechanisms were also explored.Our results demonstrated that increased mitochondrial DNA copy number by forced mitochondrial transcription factor A expression significantly facilitated cell proliferation and inhibited apoptosis of microsatellitestable colorectal cancer cells both in vitro and in vivo.Moreover,we demonstrated that increased mitochondrial DNA copy number enhanced the metastasis of microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer cells.Mechanistically,the survival advantage conferred by increased mitochondrial DNA copy number was caused in large part by elevated mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation.Furthermore,treatment with oligomycin significantly suppressed the survival and metastasis of microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer cells with increased mitochondrial DNA copy number.Our study provides evidence supporting a possible tumor-promoting role for mitochondrial DNA and uncovers the underlying mechanism,which suggests a potential novel therapeutic target for microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer. | Xiacheng Sun Lei Zhan Yibing Chen Gang Wang Linjie He Qian Wang Feng Zhou Fang Yang Jin Wu Yousheng Wu Jinliang Xing Xianli He Qichao Huang | 2018 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2018,3,1: | 3 |

| 5 | Performance Comparison of Distributed State Estimation Algorithms for Power Systems显示文摘A newly proposed distributed dynamic state estimation algorithm based on the maximum a posteriori(MAP) technique is generalised and studied for power systems. The system model involves linear time-varying load dynamics and nonlinear measurements. The main contribution of this paper is to compare the performance and feasibility of this distributed algorithm with several existing distributed state estimation algorithms in the literature. Simulations are tested on the IEEE 39-bus and 118-bus systems under various operating conditions. The results show that this distributed algorithm performs better than distributed quasi-steady state estimation algorithms which do not use the load dynamic model. The results also show that the performance of this distributed method is very close to that by the centralized state estimation method. The merits of this algorithm over the centralized method lie in its low computational complexity and low communication load. | 15 | Mucin-Producing Urothelial-Type Adenocarcinoma of the Prostate (a Case Report and Review of the Literature)显示文摘OBJECTIVE To report clinical and pathologic findings of one case of mucin-producing urothelial-type adenocarcinoma of the prostate, and to discuss the diagnosis and prognosis of this disease. METHODS The patient was a 60-year-old man who had an 8-month history of urinary frequency and dysuria culminating in an aggravating condition for 10-days. Laboratory results were tPSA 3.0 and fPSA 0.4. An ultrasound and digital rectal exam showed no abnormal findings, so he was diagnosed as having benign prostatic hyperplasia, and underwent a transurethral prostate resection. RESULTS The findings during the operation resembled benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), whereas the pathological exam showed that the pro-static construction was deranged in the tumor infiltrating region, with many mucin lakes and signet ring cell in the cancer tissue. Immunohisto-chemical staining revealed that the cancer tissue was negative for prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and postive for carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA). Final diagnosis: mucin-producing urothelial-type adenocarcinoma of the prostate. After 50 Gy radiotherapy, the patient was free of recurrent signs and metastasis up to 8 months after operation. CONCLUSION Mucin-producing urothelial-type adenocarcinoma of the prostate is extremely rare. Its differential diagnosis mainly includes conventional prostatic adenocarcinoma with mucin production and secondary adenocarcinoma. | 16 | The effect of subbranch for the quantification of local hemodynamic environment in the coronary artery:a computed tomography angiography–based computational fluid dynamic analysis显示文摘Background:Hemodynamic parameters derived from computed tomography angiography–based computational fluid dynamics(CFD)analysis have been widely used for clinical decision-making and researches to assess the vulnerability of atherosclerotic plaques and explain the initialization and development of atherosclerosis.Subbranches in the CFD model might affect the accuracy of hemodynamic parameters,but the effectiveness has been least quantified.Methods:A coronary artery baseline model was generated with focal stenosis at the proximal left anterior descending artery.Nineteen comparing models were created by systematically removing various subbranches to examine the changes in hemodynamic parameters,including time-averaged pressure(TAP),time-averaged wall shear stress(TAWSS),oscillatory shear index(OSI),and particle relative residence time(RRT).Changes in these parameters were assessed quantitatively around the stenosis and near the region where subbranches were removed.Results:The removal of subbranches caused a significant change in outflow rate,and there was generally a decrease in all CFD parameters in the regions of interest with a decrease in outflow rate.The subbranch removal had a significant impact on the calculation of TAWSS,OSI,and RRT,whereas TAP was insensitive to the removal with approximately 0.25%variation in all 19 models.The local effect from removing branch segments generally became negligible after 5 diameters away from the cutting-off position,but the decrease could be affected by other factors,such as a large curvature.Conclusion:The outflow rate is a dominant factor for the calculation of TAP,TAWSS,OSI,and RRT.Removal of subbranches has a minor effect on the TAP calculation,but its effect is considerable on the TAWSS,OSI,and RRT.The effect of subbranch removal is limited in a region with 5 local diameters. | Yibing Shi Jin Zheng Ning Yang Yang Chen Jingxi Sun Ying Zhang Xuanxuan Zhou Yongguang Gao Suqing Li Haijing Zhu Julio Acosta-Cabronero Ping Xia Zhongzhao Teng | 2022 | Emergency and Critical Care Medicine2022,2,4: | 0 |
| 17 | mRNA expression of CYP4 in marine polychaete Marphysa sanguinea in response to benzo[a]pyrene显示文摘Rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE) and real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) were carried out to analyze the CYP4 gene expression in polychaete Marphysa sanguinea exposed to benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) in this study. The full length of MsCYP4 cDNA was 2 470 bp, and it encoded 512 amino acids. The deduced amino acid sequence showed 47% identity with CYP4F from frog Xenopus tropicalis and shared high homology with other known CYP4 sequences. To analyse the role of CYP4 in protecting M. sanguinea from BaP exposure, three BaP groups were established: 0.5, 5 and 50 μg/L. Polychaetes were sampled after 3, 7 and 12 d. At 0.5 μg/L, the effect of BaP on MsCYP4 gene expression increased with time prolonged. MsCYP4 gene expression curve showed Ushaped trend with time in 5 and 50 μg/L BaP groups. | 18 | The influence of silica on reaction rates and molecular hydrogen(H_(2))generation during olivine hydrothermal alteration显示文摘Hydrothermal alteration of olivine greatly influences geodynamics and the recycling of volatiles(such as water and carbon)in subduction zones.Silica is an important component of geological fluids,and its influence on the hydrothermal alteration of olivine remains poorly constrained.In this study,we performed experiments at 300–515℃ and 3.0 kbar(1 bar=10^(5)Pa)by reacting well homogenized mixtures of olivine and silica powders with saline solutions(0.5 mol L^(−1)NaCl).Silica greatly influences the reaction pathways,reaction rates,and molecular hydrogen(H_(2))formation during olivine hydrothermal alteration.In experiments at 300℃ and 3.0 kbar with mixtures of olivine and 10 wt%silica,olivine was replaced by serpentine and talc.The proportions of serpentine and talc were determined according to standard curves based on infrared spectroscopy analyses.Around 6.5%serpentine and 12%talc were produced after an experimental duration of 7 days,which had no change after a longer period(14 days).Compared to the kinetics in silica-free systems,the rates of olivine hydrothermal alteration in experiments with 10 wt%silica are much lower.The overall reaction is:4.5Forsterite+5.5SiO_(2),aq+4H_(2)O=Serpentine+2Talc.With the addition of more silica(20 wt%and 40 wt%),olivine was transformed into talc.The rates of reaction were much faster,e.g.,for experiments with olivine and 20 wt%silica,43%of talc was produced after 14 days,which increased to 77%for experiments with 40 wt%silica over the same period.The overall reaction is:3Forsterite+5SiO_(2),aq+2H_(2)O=2Talc.In experiments at 400–505℃ and 3.0 kbar,the promoting effect of silica on olivine hydrothermal alteration was also observed,which is closely associated with a decrease in Gibbs free energies of olivine hydrothermal alteration.At 300℃ and 3.0 kbar,silica decreased H_(2)formed during olivine hydrothermal alteration by around an order of magnitude,resulting in an increase in oxygen fugacity.Based on measured H_(2),we calibrated oxygen fugacities,ranging from 0.96 to 3.41 log units below FMQ(fayalite-magnetitequartz buffer assemblage).This study suggests that the infiltration of SiO_(2)-bearing fluids into peridotites greatly influences redox conditions and the rates of olivine hydrothermal alteration. | Ruifang HUANG Weidong SUN Xing DING Yusheng ZHAO Yibing LI Xiuqi SHANG | 2024 | Science China Earth Sciences2024,67,1: | 0 |
