2Source apportionment of ambient PM_(10) in urban areas of Wuxi,China显示文摘A total of 168 PM_(10)samples were collected during the year of 2005 at eight sites in the city of Wuxi in China.Fifteen chemical elements,three water-soluble ions,total carbon and organic carbon were analyzed.Six source categories were identified and their contributions to ambient PM_(10)in Wuxi were estimated using a nested chemical mass balance method that reduces the effects of colinearity on the chemical mass balance model.In addition,the concentrations of secondary aerosols,such as secondary organic carbon,sulfate and nitrate,were quantified.The spatially averaged PM_(10)was high in the spring and winter(123μg·m^(-3)and low in the summer-fall(90μg·m^(-3)).According to the result of source apportionment,resuspended dust was the largest contributor to ambient PM_(10),accounting for more than 50%of the PM_(10)mass.Coal combustion(14.6%)and vehicle exhaust(9.4%)were also significant source categories of ambient PM_(10).Construction and cement dust,sulfates,secondary organic carbon,and nitrates made contributions ranging between 4.1%and 4.9%.Other source categories such as steel manufacturing dust and soil dust made low contributions to ambient PM_(10).Bo HAN Xiaohui BI Yonghua XUE Jianhui WU Tan ZHU Baogui ZHANG Jianqing DING Yuanxin DU 2011Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2011,5,4:5
3Optimizing interfacial electronic coupling with metal oxide to activate inert polyaniline for superior electrocatalytic hydrogen generation显示文摘Tuning and optimization of electronic structures and related reaction energetics are critical toward the rational design of efficient electrocatalysts.Herein,experimental and theoretical calculation demonstrate the originally inert N site within polyaniline(PANI)can be activated for hydrogen evolution by proper d-πinterfacial electronic coupling with metal oxide.As a result,the assynthesized WO3 assemblies@PANI via a facile redox-induced assembly and in situ polymerization,exhibits the electrocatalytic production of hydrogen better than other control samples including W18O49@PANI and most of the reported nobel-metal-free electrocatalysts,with low overpotential of 74 mV at 10 mA·cm−2 and small Tafel slope of 46 mV·dec−1 in 0.5M H2SO4(comparable to commercial Pt/C).The general efficacy of this methodology is also validated by extension to other metal oxides such as MoO3 with similar improvements.Zhen-Feng Huang Jiajia Song Yonghua Du Shuo Dou Libo Sun Wei Chen Kaidi Yuan Zhengfei Dai Xin Wang 2019Carbon Energy2019,1,1:5
4Holocene tephra deposits in the northern Okinawa Trough显示文摘The mineralogical and geochemical characteristics of sediments of Core CSH1, which was collected from the northern Okinawa Trough, indicate that large amounts of volcanic materials have deposited in the northern Okinawa Trough during the Holocene. On the basis of down-core variations in mineral and element contents of sediments, two layers in the uppermost section of Core CSH1 charac- terized by high quartz, Na2O, MnO, K2O, uranium contents and low contents of clay minerals, volatiles, Fe2O3, MgO, CaO and stron- tium, have been identified as the tephra deposits. Systematic grain-size measurements also suggest that sediments from the northern Okinawa Trough are made up of terrigenous materials and volcanic ashes with different proportion during the Holocene. The sedi- ments of tephra layers in Core CSH1 show bi-modal patterns in grain-size distribution with modal grain-sizes of 74.3 and 7.81 μm, respectively. 5Derivation and characterization of human embryonic stem cell lines from poor quality embryos显示文摘Poor quality embryos discarded from in vitro fertilization (IVF) laboratories are good sources for deriving human embryonic stem cell (hESC) lines. In this study, 166 poor quality embryos donated from IVF centers on day 3 were cultured in a blastocyst medium for 2 days, and 32 early blastocysts were further cultured in a blastocyst optimum culture medium for additional 2 days so that the inner cell masses (ICMs) could be identified and isolated easily. The ICMs of 17 blastocysts were isolated by a mechanical method, while those of the other 15 blastocysts were isolated by immunosurgery. All isolated ICMs were inoculated onto a feeder layer for subcultivation. The rates of ICM at- tachment, primary ICM colony formation and the efficiency of hESC derivation were similar between the ICMs isolated by the two methods (P>0.05). As a result, four new hESC lines were established. Three cell lines had normal karyotypes and one had an unbalanced Robertsonian translocation. All cell lines showed normal hESC characteristics and had the differentiation ability. In conclusion, we established a stable and effective method for hESC isolation and culture, and it was confirmed that the mechanical isolation was an effective method to isolate ICMs from poor embryos. 9Identification of close relationship between atmospheric oxidation and ozone formation regimes in a photochemically active region显示文摘Understanding ozone(O_(3))formation regime is a prerequisite in formulating an effective O_(3)pollution control strategy.Photochemical indicator is a simple and direct method in identifying O_(3)formation regimes.Most used indicators are derived from observations,whereas the role of atmospheric oxidation is not in consideration,which is the core driver of O_(3)formation.Thus,it may impact accuracy in signaling O_(3)formation regimes.In this study,an advanced three-dimensional numerical modeling system was used to investigate the relationship between atmospheric oxidation and O_(3)formation regimes during a long-lasting O_(3)exceedance event in September 2017 over the Pearl River Delta(PRD)of China.We discovered a clear relationship between atmospheric oxidative capacity and O_(3)formation regime.Over eastern PRD,O_(3)formation was mainly in a NO x-limited regime when HO_(2)/OH ratio was higher than 11,while in a VOC-limited regime when the ratio was lower than 9.5.Over central and western PRD,an HO_(2)/OH ratio higher than 5 and lower than 2 was indicative of NO x-limited and VOC-limited regime,respectively.Physical contribution,including horizontal transport and vertical transport,may pose uncertainties on the indication of O_(3)formation regime by HO_(2)/OH ratio.In comparison with other commonly used photochemical indicators,HO_(2)/OH ratio had the best performance in differentiating O_(3)formation regimes.This study highlighted the necessities in using an atmospheric oxidative capacity-based indicator to infer O_(3)formation regime,and underscored the importance of characterizing behaviors of radicals to gain insight in atmospheric processes leading to O_(3)pollution over a photochemically active region.Kaihui Zhao Huihong Luo Zibing Yuan Danni Xu Yi Du Shu Zhang Yuqi Hao Yonghua Wu Jianping Huang Ying Wang Rongsheng Jiang 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,4:1
10Effects of Sub-chronic Intoxication of 1,8-cineole on Blood Biochemical Indexes of Mice显示文摘[Objective] Effects of sub-chronic intoxication of 1,8-cineole on body weights,routine blood indexes and biochemical indexes of mice were investigated. [Method] One hundred and sixty mice with body weights of 15- 17 g were randomly divided into four groups( forty mice per group). Mice were injected to1,8- cineole with doses of 192. 45,64. 15 and 21. 38 mg / kg body weight( test groups) and the water solution of tween-80 with a volume fraction of 0. 5%( control group) respectively. Each mouse was administered orally at the dose of 0. 2 m L per 10 g body weight once a day consecutively for 90 d. The body weight,routine blood indexes and serum biochemical indexes of mice were determined on the 30 thd,60thd,90 thd and the 30 thd after stopping the administration of 1,8-cineole.[Result]The effects of 1,8-cineole on the body weight,routine blood indexes and serum biochemical indexes of mice with the doses of 64. 15 and 21. 38 mg/kg body weight had no statistically significant difference compared with the control group( P > 0. 05). 1,8-cineole with the dose of 192. 45 mg / kg body weight exhibited different influences on routine blood indexes and serum biochemical indexes of mice after the oral administration of 1,8-cineole for 60 d and 90 d,and statistically significant differences in many blood biochemical indexes were observed( P < 0. 05). However,the differences in routine blood indexes and serum biochemical indexes were not statistically significant between the test groups and the control group at the 30 thd after stopping the administration of 1,8-cineole( P > 0. 05).[Conclusion]1,8-cineole had sub-chronic oral toxicity to mice. The no observed adverse effect level( NOAEL) of 1,8-cineole was 64. 15 mg/kg body weight and the lowest observed adverse effect level( LOAEL) of 1,8-cineole was 192. 45 mg / kg body weight. 18SCN9A Epileptic Encephalopathy Mutations Display a Gain-offunction Phenotype and Distinct Sensitivity to Oxcarbazepine显示文摘Genetic mutants of voltage-gated sodium channels(VGSCs)are considered to be responsible for the increasing number of epilepsy syndromes.Previous research has indicated that mutations of one of the VGSC genes,SCN9A(Navl.7),result in febrile seizures and Dravet syndrome in humans.Despite these recent efforts,the electrophysiological basis of SCN9A mutations remains unclear.Here,we performed a genetic screen of patients with febrile seizures and identified a novel missense mutation of SCN9A(W1150R).Electrophysiological characterization of different SCN9A mutants in HEK293T cells,the previously-reported N641Y and K655R variants,as well as the newly-found W1150R variant,revealed that the current density of the W1150R and N641Y variants was significantly larger than that of the wild-type(WT)channel.The time constants of recovery from fast inactivation of the N641Y and K655R variants were markedly lower than in the WT channel.The W1150R variant caused a negative shift of the G-V curve in the voltage dependence of steady-state activation.All mutants displayed persistent currents larger than the WT channel.In addition,we found that oxcarbazepine(OXC),one of the antiepileptic drugs targeting VGSCs,caused a significant shift to more negative potential for the activation and inactivation in WT and mutant channels.OXC-induced inhibition of currents was weaker in the W1150R variant than in the WT.Furthermore,with administering OXC the time constant of the N641Y variant was longer than those of the other two SCN9A mutants.In all,our results indicated that the point mutation W1150R resulted in a novel gain-of-function variant.These findings indicated that SCN9A mutants contribute to an increase in seizure,and show distinct sensitivity to OXC.Shuzhang Zhang Zhiping Zhang Yuan Shen Yudan Zhu Kun Du Jingkang Guo Yonghua Ji Jie Tao 2020Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,1:0
19Solution processed nano-ZnMgO interfacial layer for highly efficient inverted perovskite solar cells显示文摘Interfacial layer has a significant impact on the achievement of highly efficient organic–inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cells(PSCs). Here, we introduced a nano-ZnMgO(magnesium doped ZnO, abbreviated as ZnMgO) as interfacial layer between [6, 6]-Phenyl C_(61) butyric acid methyl ester(PC_(61) BM) layer and Al electrode to replace LiF or ZnO interlayer and enhance device performance. The device efficiency has been improved from 11.43% to 15.61% and the hysteresis was decreased dramatically. Such huge enhancement of power convert efficiency(PCE) can be attributed to the low dark current density, enhancement of electron-selective contact, and low energy barrier at the PC_(61) BM/Al interface. 20Tectonic activity and earthquake risk in the Chengnanhe fault zone in Weihai city,Shandong province,China,obtained by using an integrated prospecting technique in geophysics and geology显示文摘For city planning and reducing potential earthquake risk,it’s necessary to detect the information of the buried faults in an urban area especially,including the location and activities.An integrated technique with geophysical and geological methods,including the shallow seismic reflection profile,electrical resistivity measurement,geologic borehole section,and exploration trench,was used to detect the Chengnanhe fault,which is one of the two main faults passing through the Weihai urban area in Shandong province,China.The results show that it is a normal fault striking with E-W direction,and it is relatively inactive and stable.By using the thermoluminescence(TL)dating,we found that the Chengnanhe fault initiated in mid-Pleistocene and there was no offset after late Pleistocene.Such an integrated technique with multiple geological and geophysical methods provides a significant assessment of earthquake risk for city planning in urban areas.Gui-Lin Du Lian-Feng Zhao Xiaobo Tian Shujuan Su Xiangchun Chang Hualin Wang Zhuqing Huo Tao Zhu Yonghua Li 2021Earthquake Science2021,34,2:0
