1Shuganjieyu capsule increases neurotrophic factor expression in a rat model of depression显示文摘Shuganjieyu capsule has been approved for clinical treatment by the State Food and Drug Administration of China since 2008. In the clinic, Shuganjieyu capsule is often used to treat mild to moderate depression. In the rat model of depression established in this study, Shuganjieyu capsule was administered intragastrically daily before stress. Behavioral results confirmed that depressive symptoms lessened after treatment with high-dose(150 mg/kg) Shuganjieyu capsule. Immunohistochemistry results showed that high-dose Shuganjieyu capsule significantly increased phosphorylation levels of phosphorylation cyclic adenosine monophosphate response element binding protein and brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression in the medial prefrontal cortex and hippocampal CA3 area. 2Large aperture N31 neodymium phosphate laser glass for use in a high power laser facility显示文摘Large aperture Nd:phosphate laser glass is a key optical element for an inertial confinement fusion(ICF) facility. N31,one type of neodymium doped phosphate glasses, was developed for high peak power laser facility applications in China. The composition and main properties of N31 glass are given, together with those of LHG-8, LG-770, and KGSS-0180 Nd:phosphate laser glasses, from Hoya and Schott, and from Russia. The technologies of pot melting, continuous melting, and edge cladding of large size N31 phosphate laser glass are briefly described. The small signal gain profiles of N31 glass slabs from both pot melting and continuous melting at various values of the pumping energy of the xenon lamp are presented. 3Phytoplankton Assemblage Structure Shaped by Key Environmental Variables in the Pearl River Estuary, South China显示文摘Spatial distribution and temporal dynamics of phytoplankton community and their relationships with environmental factors were studied in the Pearl River Estuary(PRE), South China, in three seasons. Salinity was considered as the key environmental variable controlling horizontal distributions of phytoplankton community composition. A transition from dominance of freshwater diatoms(Aulacoseira granulata and A. granulata v. angustissima) to estuarine species(Skeletonema costatum and Pseudonitzschia delicatissima) was observed in the high flow season(summer) along the estuary gradient; in the low flow season(spring), the inner estuary was relatively homogeneous and some typical estuarine species could be found near the river mouth. In the normal flow season(autumn), a potentially toxic bluegreen species, Microcystis spp. was predominant in the middle reaches of the estuary, which should be seeded from upstream and transported downstream by river discharges. Phytoplankton abundance was negatively correlated with suspended solid content and nutrient concentration in the PRE, suggesting that turbidity and nutrient availability were the crucial factors regulating the algal biomass. 4Research on allocation efficiency of the redistributed pseudo inverse algorithm显示文摘Allocation efficiency is an important performance index to measure the quality of the allocation algorithm. In order to compute the efficiency, the volume of the subset of attainable moments must be solved. The efficiency of the redistributed pseudo inverse (RPI) algorithm depends on the choice of the pseudo-inverse matrix. The subset of attainable moments of RPI is a complex non-convex polyhedron. By analyzing twodimensional and three-dimensional allocation problems with a 'micro-element' method, here we propose an approximate calculation algorithm to compute the volume of the non-convex polyhedron. In order to improve the allocation efficiency of RPI, genetic algorithm is used to find the best pseudo-inverse matrix. 5Atypical features and treatment choices in bipolar disorders:a result of the National Bipolar Mania Pathway Survey in China显示文摘In this study,we examined the point prevalence rate of atypical features in bipolar disorder,and estimated the potential impact of these features on treatment practices in China. Using the atypical features criteria of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association(DSM-IV),we documented the atypical symptoms in 3 906 consecutive participants with bipolar disorder enrolled at 26 psychiatric services across China. We further assessed the association between atypical features and the treatment approaches,including the prescription of antidepressants. The overall point prevalence rate of atypical features was 9.1% among patients with various bipolar disorder subtypes. When the definition was broadened to include atypical features B,the overall rate increased to 11.8%. Interestingly,among patients with the mixed state and remission subtypes,there was a significant difference in the rates of antidepressant medication usage between patients who met and those who did not meet the criteria for atypical features B. These fi ndings indicate a trend of using antidepressants for these two types of patients with atypical features. Further,for both mixed state and remission patients,treatment approaches were related to atypicalfeatures B. 6Dynamics of nonstructural carbohydrates in seagrass Thalassia hemprichii and its response to shading显示文摘A field survey was performed to examine nonstructural carbohydrate (NSC) dynamics in seagrass Thalassia hemprichii at the Xincun Bay in southern China. An indoor experiment to investigate the response of NSC in T. hemprichii to shade was conducted. Belowground tissue of T. hemprichii was the dominant site of NSC reserves, and soluble sugar was the primary storage compound. The starch content of belowground tissue was lower in high intertidal areas than in low intertidal areas, indicating that the longer air exposure in high intertidal areas resulted in less NSC synthesis and less accumulation of NSC in T. hemprichii. The lowest level of soluble sugar and its proportion to NSC in belowground tissue were observed near the cage culture area, where the nutrient concentration in water and sediment was the highest; while the highest level of that was observed near the coastal shrimp farm, where salinity was the lowest. Soluble sugar in belowground tissue showed the following trend: summer>spring>winter>autumn. This corresponded to seasonal changes in the intensity of light. Leaf sugar accumulated during the autumn-winter period, providing a carbon and energy source for flower bud formation and seed germination. Short-term shading decreased NSC accumulation. Collectively, these results suggest that nutrient enrichment, freshwater discharge and exposure to air affect NSC dynamics in T. hemprichii. 7Leaching of dissolved organic matter from seagrass leaf litter and its biogeochemical implications显示文摘Dissolved organic matter(DOM) represents a significant source of nutrients that supports the microbial-based food web in seagrass ecosystems. However, there is little information on how the various fractions of DOM from seagrass leaves contributed to the coastal biogeochemical cycles. To address this gap, we carried out a 30-day laboratory chamber experiment on tropical seagrasses Thalassia hemprichii and Enhalus acoroides. After 30 days of incubation, on average 22% carbon(C), 70% nitrogen(N) and 38% phosphorus(P) of these two species of seagrass leaf litter was released. The average leached dissolved organic carbon(DOC), dissolved organic nitrogen(DON) and dissolved organic phosphorus(DOP) of these two species of seagrass leaf litter accounted for 55%, 95% and 65% of the total C, N and P lost, respectively. In the absence of microbes, about 75% of the total amount of DOC, monosaccharides(MCHO), DON and DOP were quickly released via leaching from both seagrass species in the first 9 days. Subsequently, little DOM was released during the remainder of the experiment. The leaching rates of DOC, DON and DOP were approximately 110, 40 and 0.70 μmol/(g·d). Leaching rates of DOM were attributed to the nonstructural carbohydrates and other labile organic matter within the seagrass leaf. Thalassia hemprichii leached more DOC, DOP and MCHO than E. acoroides. In contrast, E. acoroides leached higher concentrations of DON than T. hemprichii, with the overall leachate also having a higher DON: DOP ratio. These results indicate that there is an overall higher amount of DOM leachate from T. hemprichii than that of E. acoroides that is available to the seagrass ecosystem. According to the logarithmic model for DOM release and the in situ leaf litter production(the Xincun Bay, South China Sea), the seagrass leaf litter of these two seagrass species could release approximately 4×10~3 mol/d DOC, 1.4×10~3 mol/d DON and 25 mol/d DOP into the seawater. In addition to providing readily available nutrients for the microbial food web, the remaining particulate organic matter(POM)from the litter would also enter microbial remineralization processes. 8Tiaozhi Tongmai Granules reduce atherogenesis and promote the expression of ATP-binding cassette transporter A1 in rabbit atherosclerotic plaque macrophages and the liver显示文摘Objective:ATP-binding cassette transporter A1(ABCA1)is an integral membrane protein that plays a key role in cellular lipid metabolism,preventing the accumulation of lipids that contribute to the initiation and progression of atherosclerosis.Tiaozhi Tongmai Granules are a Chinese herbal compound that is capable of treating atherosclerosis.This study was designed to explore the potential pharmacological mechanism by which Tiaozhi Tongmai Granules protect against atherosclerosis.Methods:Forty-nine male New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into seven groups:normal control group,normal diet;model groups 1 and 2:balloon injury and high-fat diet for 6 or 12 weeks;statin groups 1 and 2:balloon injury and high-fat diet plus atorvastatin for 6 or 12 weeks;and Chinese herb groups 1 and 2:balloon injury and high-fat diet plus Tiaozhi Tongmai Granules for 6 or12 weeks.The granules were administered at a dose of 1.14 g/kg/d,with atorvastatin(1.14 mg/kg/d)serving as positive control.Serum lipid profiles and liver function indices were measured.Atherogenesis was viewed after H&E staining and quantified by thickened intimal area percentage and maximal intimal thickness percentage.The ABCA1 protein expression in atherosclerotic plaque macrophages of the common carotid arteries(CCA),thoracic aortae(TA),and liver tissues were observed by immunohistochemical staining and evaluated using mean optical density(OD)value in macrophages and ABCA1-positive hepatocyte number.Results:Compared with model group 1 at week 6,Chinese herb group 1 and statin group 1 displayed significant reductions in total cholesterol(TC)(PZ0.027,0.012)and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)(PZ0.039,0.028)levels,as well as marked increases in ABCA1-positive hepatocyte numbers(P all<0.001),and only statin group 1 displayed a markedly reducedmaximal intimal thickness percentage in the CCA(P Z 0.018).Compared with model group 2 at week 12,Chinese herb group 2 and statin group 2 all presented significant reductions in TC(P Z 0.011,0.003),LDL-C(P Z 0.017,0.010)and thickened intimal area percentage in the CCA(P Z 0.001,0.022),as well as prominent increases in the ABCA1 OD value of both the CCA(P Z 0.001,0.039)and TA(P Z 0.001,0.025)and positive hepatocyte number(P all<0.001).Chinese herb group 2 had a markedly reduced maximal intimal thickness percentage compared with model group 2(P Z 0.006)and a higher positive hepatocytes number than statin group 2(P Z 0.001).Conclusions:Tiaozhi Tongmai Granules appear to have an anti-atherogenic effect that is most likely mediated by simultaneously upregulating the protein expression of ABCA1 in rabbit atherosclerotic plaque macrophages and in the liver.Qing Sun Lu Zhang Shuwen Guo Min Zheng Dandan Yang Chenglong Zheng Jiani Wu Jian Liu Jingping Wu 2014Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2014,1,1:2

10Face and object visual working memory deficits in first-episode schizophrenia correlate with multiple neurocognitive performances显示文摘Background Working memory(WM)deficit is considered a core feature and cognitive biomarker in patients with schizophrenia.Several studies have reported prominent object WM deficits in patients with schizophrenia,suggesting that visual WM in these patients extends to non-spatial domains.However,whether non-spatial WM is similarly affected remains unclear.Aim This study primarily aimed to identify the processing of visual object WM in patients with first-episode schizophrenia.Methods The study included 36 patients with first-episode schizophrenia and 35 healthy controls.Visual object WM capacity,including face and house WM capacity,was assessed by means of delayed matching-to sample visual WM tasks,in which participants must distribute memory so that they can discriminate a target sample.We specifically examined their anhedonia experience by the Temporal Experience of Pleasure Scale and the Snaith-Hamilton Pleasure Scale.Cognitive performance was measured by the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status(RBANS).Results Both face and house WM capacity was significantly impaired in patients with schizophrenia.For both tasks,the performance of all the subjects was worse under the high-load condition than under the low-load condition.We found that WM capacity was highly positively correlated with the performance on RBANS total scores(r=−0.528,p=0.005),RBANS delayed memory scores(r=−0.470,p=0.013),RBANS attention scores(r=−0.584,p=0.001),RBANS language scores(r=−0.448,p=0.019),Trail-Making Test:Part A raw scores(r=0.465,p=0.015)and simple IQ total scores(r=−0.538,p=0.005),and correlated with scores of the vocabulary test(r=−0.490,p=0.011)and scores of the Block Diagram Test(r=−0.426,p=0.027)in schizophrenia.No significant correlations were observed between WM capacity and Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale symptoms.Conclusions Our research found that visual object WM capacity is dramatically impaired in patients with schizophrenia and is strongly correlated with other measures of cognition,suggesting a mechanism that is critical in explaining a portion of the broad cognitive deficits observed in schizophrenia.Yi Liu Taiyong Bi Bei Zhang Qijie Kuang Haijing Li Kunlun Zong Jingping Zhao Yuping Ning Shenglin She Yingjun Zheng 2021General Psychiatry2021,34,1:2

12Production of Pectinolytic Enzymes by Two Bacillus spp. Strains and Their Application in Flax Degumming显示文摘This study demonstrated that Bacillus licheniformis HDYM-03 and Bacillus megaterium HDYM-09, isolated from a liquid sample of fl ax retting pool, were able to produce pectinolytic enzymes using polysaccharides as substrates. Bacillus megaterium HDYM-09 produced pectin lyase that exhibited the highest activity of 2116.71 ± 11.55 U/mL. Bacillus licheniformis HDYM-03 produced pectate lyase that exhibited the highest activity of 611.21 ± 14.54 U/mL. Based on these fi ndings, we constructed four retting systems to degrade the pectin substance. The results showed that the content of galacturonic acid in the mixed system was 529.21 μg/mL, the content of reducing sugar was 98.14 mg/mL, and the weight loss ratio of cells reached 19.49%, which were signifi cantly higher than those in other systems. The mixed system has more advantages, and the utilization rate of degumming was higher, which further ensured that the degumming can be carried out effi ciently and quickly. 15Retrieval of Total Suspended Matters Using Field Spectral Data in Shitoukoumen Reservoir,Jilin Province,Northeast China显示文摘From August to October in 2006,three times of field spectral measurements with a Field Spec FR spectroradiometer(Analytical Spectral Devices,Inc.,USA) were carried out in Shitoukoumen Reservoir,Jilin Province,Northeast China. Owing to the serious soil and water loss in the upstream,reflectance curves of the reservoir were characterized by high concentrations of total suspended matter(TSM) . Extending the spectral analysis to 1200nm in the near-infrared band,this research revealed an obvious reflectance peak around 1070nm which was caused by the strong backscattering of high TSM. The method of partial least squares(PLS) regression was applied to retrieving the TSM. Reflectance in two spectral bands,i.e.,675-948nm and 1029-1105nm,were used as variables to develop PLS models. Traditional linear regression,first derivative model and logarithmic model were also used for the comparison of different models. Results showed that the PLS model based on Rrs(675) -Rrs(948) gave out best results with high precision and stability. 16Effects of chronic peripheral pretreatment with an angiotensin II type-1 receptor blocker on apoptosis-related molecules in rats with cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury显示文摘Chronic systemic treatment with blockers of angiotensin II type-1(AT1) receptors inhibits ischemia-induced apoptosis and reduces ischemic neuronal damage.However,the molecular mechanisms of AT1 receptor blockers in modulating neuronal apoptosis remain poorly understood.Pretreatment with irbesartan significantly suppressed cell apoptosis at 1-7 days following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion,increased levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor,and elevated the ratios of Bcl-2/Bax and phosphorylated cyclic adenosine monophosphate response element-binding protein(pCREB)/CREB in the ischemic cortex at 1 day after reperfusion,as well as suppressing caspase-3 activation.Cerebral ischemia increased the mRNA expression of AT1 and AT2 receptors in the ischemic cortex,whereas irbesartan blocked this increase in AT1 expression but potentiated the expression of AT2.Therefore,this AT1 receptor blocker was neuroprotective by increasing the ratios of Bcl-2/Bax and pCREB/CREB,increasing brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels,inhibiting caspase-3 activation,and modulating AT receptor expression.Jingping Shi Jingde Dong Jie Lu Yingdong Zhang 2010Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,15:2
17Effects of the crystallization time on the mesoporous structure,texture, morphology and styrene oxidation performances of V-MCM-41显示文摘The new V-MCM-41 molecular sieves with good ordered hexagonal mesoporous structure and crystallinity were synthesized through in-situ hydrothermal preparation method. The effects of the crystallization time were discussed. The synthesized samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, N2adsorption/desorption, Fourier transformed infrared and scanning electron microscopy. The different structures, textures, morphologies of V-MCM-41 obtained with different crystallization times were observed and analyzed on the basis of the characterized results. The results showed that the V-MCM-41 molecular sieve obtained at 110 °C for 48 h crystallization times was of good spherical morphology, ordered hexagonal structure, most uniform pore size distribution and high surface area compared with other samples. Meanwhile, the V-MCM-41 molecular sieve with the high skeleton Si condensation and the good crystallinity was obtained. The heteroatom could be incorporated into MCM-41 framework with increasing crystallization times, which was beneficial to improve the catalytic activity and selectivity of pure siliceous MCM-41. 19Non-Hermitian control of confined optical skyrmions in microcavities formed by photonic spin-orbit coupling显示文摘Optical skyrmions formed by photonic spin–orbit(SO)coupling are of significant interest in high-dimensional optical information processing.We report the formation mechanism and non-Hermitian properties of skyrmionlike states in a circular confinement potential with photonic SO coupling,which is preferably realized in a concave-planar microcavity system.We show that the effective photonic gauge field leads to two split manifolds of degenerate skyrmions whose spin textures can be controlled via the non-Hermitian properties by introducing circularly polarized gain and loss,exhibiting dramatically discrepant evolutions at the two sides of the exceptional point(EP).Furthermore,the lifetime degeneracy can be lifted by spatially inhomogeneous pumping according to the non-Hermitian mechanism,enabling the possibility for the skyrmion laser.By introducing shape asymmetry of the confinement potential,a double EP evolution can be achieved,which allows non-Hermitian control of the SO coupled states with higher degrees of freedom.These results open the way for the non-Hermitian control of photonic spin in confined systems,which would be of great significance for the fundamentals of advanced optical information processing.XIAOXUAN LUO YIN CAI XIN YUE WEI LIN JINGPING ZHU YANPENG ZHANG FENG LI 2023Photonics Research2023,11,4:1
