1Experimental study on the seismic behavior of high strength concrete fi lled double-tube columns显示文摘To study the seismic behavior of high strength concrete fi lled double-tube(CFDT) columns,each consisting of an external square steel tube and an internal circular steel tube,quasi-static tests on eight CFDT column specimens were conducted.The test variables included the width-to-thickness ratio(β1) and the area ratio(β2) of the square steel tube,the wall thickness of the circular steel tube,and the axial force(or the axial force ratio) applied to the CFDT columns.The test results indicate that for CFDT columns with a square steel tube with β1 of 50.1 and 24.5,local buckling of the specimen was found at a drift ratio of 1/150 and 1/50,respectively.The lateral force-displacement hysteretic loops of all specimens were plump and stable.Reducing the width-to-thickness ratio of the square steel tube,increasing its area ratio,or increasing the wall thickness of the internal circular steel tube,led to an increased fl exural strength and deformation capacity of the specimens.Increasing the design value of the axial force ratio from 0.8 to 1.0 may increase the fl exural strength of the specimens,while it may also decrease the ultimate deformation capacity of the specimen with β1 of 50.1.Qian Jiaru Li Ningbo Ji Xiaodong Zhao Zuozhou 2014Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2014,13,1:12
2Single small molecule-assembled nanoparticles mediate efficient oral drug delivery显示文摘Oral drug delivery,which requires surviving the harsh environment in the gastrointestinal(Gl)tract and penetrating the intestinal epithelium,has not bee n achieved using simple formulatio n nan oparticles(NPs).Medici nal natural products(MNPs)have bee n widely used in traditi onal medicine for disease management through oral consumption.However,most pharmacologically active compounds within MNPs do not have the properties suitable for oral applicatio ns.We hypothesize that some MNPs contain n atural nano materials that can convert those compounds into oral formulations by forming NPs.After screening 66 MNPs,we identified five classes of small molecules that form NPs,many of which are capable of efficient drug encapsulation and Gl penetration.We show that one of them,dehydrotrametenolic acid(DTA),is capable of mediating oral delivery for effective disease treatment.We determined that DTA NPs assemble through hydrogen bonding and penetra怕the Gl tract via apical sodium-depe ndent bile acid tran sporter.Our study reveals a no vel class of single comp orient,small molecule-assembled NPs for oral drug delivery,and suggests a n ovel approach to modernizi ng MNPs through nano material discovery.Xin Yang Chao Ma Zeming Chen Jun Liu Fuyao Liu Rongbin Xie Haitian Zhao Gang Deng Ann TChen Ningbo Gong Lei Yao Pengjian Zuo Kangkang Zhi Jiacheng Wang Xiaobin Gao Jing Wang Louzhen Fan Jiangbing Zhou 2019Nano Research2019,12,10:4
3Transformation of erythromycin during secondary effluent soil aquifer recharging:Removal contribution and degradation path显示文摘Erythromycin(ERY),a widely used antibiotic,has recently been detected in municipal secondary effluents and poses serious threats to human health during wastewater reusing.In this study,the removal,fate,and degradation pathway of ERY in secondary effluent during soil aquifer treatment was evaluated via laboratory-scale SAT tests.Up to a 92.9%reduction of ERY in synthetic secondary effluent was observed in 1.0 m depth column system,which decreased to 64.7%when recharged with wastewater treatment plant secondary effluent.XRD-fractionation results demonstrated that the transphilic acid and hydrophobic acid fractions in secondary effluent compete for the adsorption sites of the packed soil and lead to a declined ERY removal.Moreover,aerobic biodegradation was the predominant role for ERY removal,contributing more than 60%reduction of ERY when recharged with synthetic secondary effluent.Destruction of 14-member macrocyclic lactone ring and breakdown of two cyclic sugars(L-cladinose and D-desosamine) were main removal pathways for ERY degradation,and produced six new intermediates.Liangliang Wei Kena Qin Ningbo Zhao Daniel R.Noguera Wei Qiu Qingliang Zhao Xiangjuan Kong Weixian Zhang Felix Tetteh Kabutey 2017Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,1:4
4Groundwater impact of open cut coal mine and an assessment methodology:A case study in NSW显示文摘Large scale open cut coal mining operations have significant impacts to groundwater in surrounding areas in both active and post-mining phases. The prediction of water inflows into a surface mine excavation is one of the many components involved in mine design phase. Groundwater performance also reacts to mining activities from the operational, economic and safety implications perspective. Under NSW planning legislation, as part of the comprehensive risk assessment, a groundwater impact assessment has to be conducted for a coal project to predict and mitigate the impacts in consideration of the government requirements. In this paper, the groundwater assessment modelling of mine pits was discussed in predicting of groundwater inflows and reviewing analytical and numerical approaches. A methodology of groundwater impact assessment for an open cut mine in NSW with a three-dimensional groundwater flow model Modflow Surfact demonstrated its functions in simulating the project's impacts on the groundwater regime. 5Customized anterior segment photoacoustic imaging for ophthalmic burn evaluation in vivo显示文摘Photoacoustic imaging has many advantages in ophthalmic application including high-resolution,requirement of no exogenous contrast agent,and noninvasive acquisition of both morphologic and functional information.However,due to the limited depth of focus of the imaging method and large curvature of the eye,it remains a challenge to obtain high quality vascular image of entire anterior segment.Here,we proposed a new method to achieve high quality imaging of anterior segment.The new method applied a curvature imaging strategy based on only one time scanning,and hence is time efficient and more suitable for ophthalmic imaging compared to previously reported methods using similar strategy.A custom-built photoacoustic imaging system was adapted for ophthalmic application and a customized image processing method was developed to quantitatively analyze both morphologic and functional information in vasculature of the anterior segment.The results showed that the new method improved the image quality of anterior segment significantly compared to that of conventional high resolution photoacoustic imaging.More importantly,we applied the new method to study ophthalmic disease in an in vivo mouse model for the first time.The results verified the suitability and advantages of the new method for imaging the entire anterior segment and the numerous potentials of applying it in ophthalmic imaging in future.Huangxuan Zhao Ke Li Fan Yang Wenhui Zhou Ningbo Chen Liang Song Chuansheng Zheng Zhicheng Liu Chengbo Liu 2021Opto-Electronic Advances2021,4,6:2
6EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor HS-10182 increases radiation sensitivity in non-small cell lung cancers with EGFR T790M mutation显示文摘Objective:To investigate the potential of HS-10182,a second-generation epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor(EGFR-TKI),as a radiosensitizer in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods:Two cell lines of NSCLCs,A549 that possesses wild-type(WT)EGFRs and H1975 that possesses EGFR L858R/T790M double mutations,were treated with HS-10182 at various concentrations,and cell viabilities were determined using the MTS assay.The cells were tested by clonogenic survival assays to identify the radiosensitivity of both groups.Western blot was performed to analyze the expression of phosphorylated EGFR,AKT,DNA-dependent protein kinase,and catalytic subunit(DNA-PKcs)proteins.Immunofluorescence analyses were performed to examine the formation and changes in nuclearγ-H2AX foci.Cell apoptosis was examined by flow cytometry and Western blots for cleaved caspase-3,-8,-9,and cleaved poly ADP-ribose polymerase(PARP).Furthermore,we established xenograft models in mice and the effects of different treatments on tumor growth were then assessed.Results:Clonogenic survival assays revealed that HS-10182 significantly enhanced the radiosensitivity of H1975 cells but not A549cells[dose enhancement ratios(DERs)=2.36(P<0.05)vs.1.43(P>0.05)].Western blot results showed that HS-10182 increased the levels of cleaved caspase-3,-8,-9,and cleaved PARP in H1975 cells but not in A549 cells.In addition,flow cytometry analysis showed that HS-10182 enhanced irradiation-induced apoptosis in H1975.Immunofluorescence results found that HS-10182increased the average number ofγ-H2AX foci after irradiation in H1975 cells,but not in A549 cells.Combined radiation and HS-10182 treatment increased the expression of DNA-PKcs but this increase was more significant in H1975 cells than in A549 cells.Moreover,HS-10182 suppressed the increased expression of Rad50 in H1975 cells in response to irradiation.In vivo experiments found that the combined therapy significantly inhibited tumor growth.Conclusions:HS-10182 enhances the radiosensitivity of H1975 cells which is possibly because that HS-10182 could enhance irradiation-induced apoptosis,increase irradiation-induced DNA damage,and cause a delay in DNA damage repair.Our findings suggest that radiotherapy combined HS-10182 is a novel treatment for lung cancer cells which have acquired the T790M mutation.HS-10182 could be brought to the clinic as a radiosensitizer in NSCLCs with the EGFR T790M mutation.Yang Chen Youyou Wang Lujun Zhao Ping Wang Jifeng Sun Rudi Bao Chenghai Li Ningbo Liu 2018Cancer Biology & Medicine2018,15,1:2

8Tissue expression,association analysis between three novel SNPs of the RXRαgene and growth traits in Chinese indigenous cattle显示文摘Retinoid X receptor(RXR) α is a member of the nuclear hormone receptor superfamily that mediates the biological effects on several hormones,vitamins,and regulates lipid,glucose and energy metabolism.In this study,the tissue expression profiles of the bovine RXRαgene and association analysis of single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) with growth traits were carried out in 413 Chinese native cattle.The expression profile was analysed in ten Jiaxian cattle tissues by real-time PCR,and the results showed that RXRαgene was abundantly expressed in adipose tissue and spleen,moderately expressed in heart,liver,lung,kidney,muscle and testis.Meanwhile,three SNPs(T27919A,T28139C and G28142A) and five haplotypes were identified.Haplotype with TTG was dominant with frequency of 69.1%.Chi-square test showed all populations were in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium(P>0.05) at the three sites except Jiaxian cattle at G28142A site and Qinchuan cattle at T27919A site.Statistical analysis of combined sites showed that the individuals with TTGA genotype had significantly higher heart girth than those with TAGG genotype(P<0.05) and the animals with AAGA genotype had higher body weight than those with TAGG genotype(P<0.05) in T27919A-G28142A site.Heart girth,abdominal circumference and body weight of individuals with TCAG genotype were exceedingly higher than those with TTGG(P<0.01),TTGA and TCGG(P<0.05) in T28139C-G28142A site.For T27919A-T28139C site,the individuals of TCTA and TCTT genotype had significantly higher heart girth and lower height at hip cross than those with TTTA(P<0.05),and the body weight of TCAA and TCTT genotype individuals was higher than those with TTTA(P<0.05).In conclusion,these results provided evidence that the polymorphisms of RXRαgene were associated with growth traits and might apply to Chinese indigenous yellow cattle breeding program as a possible candidate for marker-assisted selection(MAS).MA Yun GAO HanTing LIN Feng CHEN NingBo XU YongJie JIANG JinHang LI Fen LU FangRu ZHAO Man SHI KuiLin CHENG Ni LI JunYa 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,18:1
9Energy-Aware Scheduling with Uncertain Execution Time for Real-Time Systems显示文摘Energy-saving is extraordinary important for real-time systems. Dynamic voltage scaling(DVS) is an important technique to reduce the energy consumption of processors that support voltage scaling. It has been exploited extensively in task scheduling. However, many approaches take simple treatments and some of them even neglect the large voltage transition overheads. Although some strategies consider the penalty, frequency switching produces extra large time overhead and deadline misses occur frequently. In our paper, we propose an energy efficient soft real-time dynamic program scheme by using quantitative switching overhead and communication penalty for multitask scheduling with uncertain execution time. 12Temporal and Spatial Variations of ET 0 and Sensitivity Coefficients in Spring-summer in Eastern Agricultural Areas of Qinghai,China显示文摘Reference crop evapotranspiration(ET 0) is a key parameter to calculate crop water requirements.In the paper,ET 0 during 1960-2005 was calculated with FAO-56 PM in eastern agricultural areas of Qinghai,China.Then the sensitivity coefficients of ET 0 to meteorological variables were estimated through the nondimensional partial derivative in FAO-56 PM.Results show that the mean annual ET 0 of the whole area is 904 mm,and ET 0 portrays a very significant decrease during the 46 years.In spatial,ET 0 decreases from southeast to northwest,firstly increases then decreases from southwest to northeast.Through sensitivity analysis,in spring the most sensitive variable is relative humidity,while in summer is temperature.The temperature,sunshine duration and wind speed sensitivity coefficients(S(TA),S(n),S(u)) are higher in middle areas as opposed to surrounding areas,while the relative humidity sensitivity coefficient(S(RH)) has an opposite distribution rule.ZHAO Lu LIANG Chuan CUI Ningbo WEI Renjuan YANG Haoxiang 2012Journal of Mountain Science2012,9,6:1
13Numerical Investigation of the Influence of Fuel Concentration Gradient on Propane/Oxygen Detonation Propagation显示文摘In this paper,one-and two-dimensional numerical simulations are carried out to study the effects of fuel concentration gradients(such as steep,intermediate and shallow)on the detonation wave behavior.The equivalent ratio range of detonation propagation,the quenching mechanism and the change of cell size are discussed in detail.The simulation results show,as the fuel concentration gradient increases,the detonation wavefront decays faster and decouples into a leading shock and a following flame at equivalence ratios of 0.68,0.64 and 0.62,respectively.Moreover,there are two modes of the quenching mechanism.One occurs in the steep gradient that the detonation wave fails rapidly.The O_(2)in front of the detonation wave passes through the detonation wave and forms some unburned O_(2)pockets.The unburned pockets are affected by the marginal walls and reduce the heat release.The other occurs in the intermediate and shallow gradients that more triple points will survive in the flow field,which leads to a difference in the propagation speed of the detonation wavefront.This makes the detonation wavefront bent and deformed.The unburned O_(2)pockets are affected by the strong instability near the triple points and show different distribution characteristics compared with the steep gradient,which may be helpful to the detonation propagation.In addition,as the fuel concentration gradient increases,the triple points moving toward the wall gradually disappear while the triple points that move toward the center can continue to survive,which leads to the gradual increase in cell size and irregularity of the cell structure.SHAO Xiaofeng WU Tianxing MENG Qingyang ZHAO Ningbo QI Lei ZHENG Hongtao 2023Journal of Thermal Science2023,32,6:0
14Kinetics and Selectivity in Thermal Hydrocracking and Catalytic Hydrocracking of Asphaltenes显示文摘A pentane-insoluble mixture of asphaltenes was processed by thermal hydrocracking and catalytic hydrocracking over Ni-Mo/γ-Al2O3 catalyst in a microbatch reactor at 430 ℃.The experimental data of asphaltene conversion adequately fit second-order kinetics to give the apparent rate constants of 2.435×10-2 and 9.360×10-2 (wt frac)-1 min-1 for the two processes,respectively.A three-lump kinetic model is proposed to evaluate the rate constants for parallel reactions of asphaltenes producing liquid oil (k1) and gas+coke (k3),and consecutive reaction producing gas+coke (k2) from this liquid oil.The evaluated constants for asphaltenes hydrocracking,in the presence and absence of the catalyst,respectively,show that k1 is 2.430×10-2 and 9.355×10-2 (wt frac)-1 min-1,k2 is 2.426×10-2 and 6.347×10-3 min-1,and k3 is 5.416×10-5 and 4.803×10-5 (wt frac)-1 min-1.As compared with the thermal hydrocracking of asphaltenes,the catalytic hydrocracking of asphaltenes promotes liquid production and inhibits coke formation effectively.Zhao Yingxian Li Da (Ningbo Institute of Technology,Zhejiang University,Ningbo 315100) 2011China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2011,13,1:0
15Numerical Research on Effect of Sudden Cross-Section Expansion on Detonation Initiation显示文摘Numerical simulation has been performed to investigate the DDT(Deflagration-to-Detonation Transition)mechanism by solving fully compressible reactive flow for hydrogen/air mixtures in tube with sudden cross-section expansion.The results reveal the acceleration action of abrupt cross-section on DDT,which is validated by comparing the run up distance and time with corresponding long annular tube and single tube.Detailed discussion of flow field variations finds that the DDT process in cross-section abrupt tube can be divided into three stages(flame acceleration,transition to detonation,and detonation propagation stages respectively)according to different flame modes.Particularly,it is found that formation of vortex could accelerate DDT by promoting turbulent mixing of hot products and cold reactants.Further comparative analysis on DDT characteristics of cross-section abrupt tube with different annular gap lengths shows that different mechanisms dominate in the single tube zone.The conclusions in present study support the cross-section abrupt tube as a means to enhance DDT and provide an alternative potential in practical pre-detonation initiator and pulse detonation engine applications.JIA Xiongbin ZHAO Ningbo MAXWELL Brian CHEN Xiang ZHENG Hongtao 2022Journal of Thermal Science2022,31,5:0
16Differential flatness-based distributed control of underactuated robot swarms显示文摘This paper proposes a distributed control method based on the differential flatness(DF) property of robot swarms. The swarm DF mapping is established for underactuated differentially flat dynamics, according to the control objective. The DF mapping refers to the fact that the system state and input of each robot can be derived algebraically from the flat outputs of the leaders and the cooperative errors and their finite order derivatives. Based on the proposed swarm DF mapping, a distributed controller is designed. The distributed implementation of swarm DF mapping is achieved through observer design. 17A novel reporter mouse line for studying alveolar macrophages显示文摘Alveolar macrophages(AMs)are self-maintained immune cells that play vital roles in lung homeostasis and immunity.Although reporter mice and culture systems have been established for studying macrophages,an accurate and specific reporter line for alveolar macrophage study is still not available.Here we reported a novel Rspo1-tdTomato gene reporter mouse line that could specifically label mouse AMs in a cell-intrinsic manner.Using this reporter system,we visualized the dynamics of alveolar macrophages intravitally under steady state and characterized the alveolar macrophage differentiation under in vitro condition.By performing ATAC-seq,we found that insertion of the tdTomato cassette in the Rspo1 locus increased the accessibility of a PPARE motif within the Rspo1 locus and revealed a potential regulation by key transcription factor PPAR-γfor alveolar macrophage differentiation in vitro and in vivo.Consistently,perturbation of PPAR-γby its agonist rosiglitazone or inhibitor GW9662 resulted in corresponding alteration of tdTomato expression in alveolar macrophages together with the transcription of PPAR-γdownstream target genes.Furthermore,global transcriptomic analyses of AMs from the wild type mice and the Rspo1-tdTomato mice showed comparable gene expression profiles,especially those AM-specific genes,confirming that the insertion of the tdTomato cassette in the Rspo1 locus does not impact the cell identity and biological function of AMs under normal condition.Taken together,our study provides an alternative tool for in vivo and in vitro labeling of alveolar macrophages with high specificity which could also be utilized as an indicator of PPAR-γactivity for future development of PPAR-γspecific targeting drugs.Xiaoyun Zhao Liang Li Hongxiang Sun Xiaoli Jiang Wenjuan Bai Ningbo Wu Jing Wang Bing Su 2023Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,11:0
18Optimization of Crosswalk Width Based on Bi-Directional Pedestrian Crossing Time at Signalized Intersections显示文摘The effects of the interactions between bi-directional pedestrians on the crossing time and the crosswalk width are studied. Firstly,the crossing process of bi-directional pedestrians is analyzed.The total crosswalk time is divided into a discharge time and a crossing time. The interactions between bi-directional pedestrians are quantified with the drag force theory. Then,a model is developed to study the crossing time based on the kinetic energy theory and momentum theory. Subsequently,the related parameters of the proposed model are calibrated with observed information. The relationships among crosswalk width,signal time,pedestrian volume and level of service are simulated with the proposed model. The results are verified and compared with other models. The proposed model has an absolute value of relative error of 9. 38%,which is smaller than that of the Alhajyaseen model( 15. 26%) and Highway Capacity Manual( HCM) model( 12. 42%). 19Simultaneous integrated dose reduction intensity-modulated radiotherapy effectively reduces cardiac toxicity in limited-stage small cell lung cancer显示文摘Objective:To assess the clinical outcomes and toxicities of once daily(QD)simultaneous dose reduction intensity-modulated radiotherapy(SDR-IMRT-QD;SDR-QD)versus conventional QD IMRT(C-QD)and twice daily(BID)IMRT in patients with limited-stage small cell lung cancer(LS-SCLC).Methods:After propensity score matching(PSM),a retrospective analysis involving 300 patients with LS-SCLC treated using SDR-QD,C-QD,or BID was performed from January 1,2014 to December 31,2019.The prescribed irradiation dose in the SDR-QD cohort was 60 Gy/PGTV and 54 Gy/PTV QD.The radiation dose was 60 Gy for both PGTV and PTV QD in the C-QD cohort.The radiation dose was 45 Gy for both PGTV and PTV in the BID cohort.Toxicities,short-term effects,and survival outcomes were recorded.A meta-analysis on the protective effects of pharmaceuticals for cardiac toxicities induced by anti-tumor therapy was performed.Results:The median overall survival time(MST)in the 3 cohorts were 32.7 months(SDR-QD),26.3 months(C-QD),and 33.6 months(BID);the differences between groups were statistically significant.Lower toxicities and doses to organs-at-risk(OARs)occurred in the SDR-QD and BID cohorts.Further,the cardiac dose dosimetric parameter Vheart40 was negatively associated with survival(r=-0.35,P=0.007).A Vheart40 value of 16.5%was recommended as a cut-off point,which yielded 54.7%sensitivity and 85.7%specificity for predicting negative survival outcomes.The meta-analysis indicated that pharmaceuticals significantly reduced the cardiac toxicities induced by chemotherapy,but not radiotherapy.Conclusions:SDR-QD was shown to have similar toxicities and survival compared with BID,but fewer toxicities and better survival than C-QD.In addition,cardiac dose exposure was negatively associated with survival.Thus,16.5%of the cardiac dosimetric parameter Vheart40 is recommended as the cut-off point,and a Vheart40>16.5%predicts poor survival.Jing Luo Jiawei Song Li Xiao Jiajia Zhang Yipeng Cao Jun Wang Ping Wang Lujun Zhao Ningbo Liu 2023Cancer Biology & Medicine2023,20,6:0
