The discovery of Palaeoproterozoic volcanic rocks in the Bulunkuoler Group from the Tianshuihai Massif in Xinjiang of Northwest China and its geological significance显示文摘In the Dabudaer region of the Tianshuihai Massif (Xinjiang, Northwest China), metavolcanic rocks within the mainly meta-sedimentary Bulunkuoler Group are basalt, basaltic andesite, and rhyolite. In situ zircon U-Pb LA-ICP-MS dating on rhyolite magmatic zircons yielded an age of 2481±14 Ma, interpreted as the eruption age of the Bulunkuoler Group volcanic rocks. The basalt and basaltic andesite are low-Al tholeiite series and the rhyolite is low-Al calc-alkaline series. All of rocks are charac-terized by enrichment of LREE and LILE (Rb, Th and Ba), depletion of P, Nb, Ta and Ti, and absence of Eu anomalies. The εNd(t) of basalts ranges from 3.14 to 4.88 indicating a depleted mantle source. The trace element signatures show that these magmas experienced intense crustal contamination during their ascent. Direct evidence for crustal contamination is the xenocrystic zircons in the ryholite, with ages back to ca. 3300 Ma. The primitive-mantle normalized and Zr/Y-Zr diagrams for the basic volcanic rocks show that they formed in an intra-continental tectonic setting. Combined with the previous studies and compared with North China Craton Neoarchean basic volcanic rocks, it is supposed that the Bulunkuoler Group volcanic rocks reflect the Palaeoproterozoic mantle magma underplating and interaction with felsic crust.JI WenHua LI RongShe CHEN ShouJian HE ShiPing ZHAO ZhenMing BIAN XiaoWei ZHU HaiPing CUI JiGang REN JuanGang 2011Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,1:22
Efficacy of Chinese herbal medicine for lumbar disc herniation: a systematic review of randomized controlled trials显示文摘OBJECTIVE: This is a review of the effects of Chinese herbal medicine(CHM) used alone to treat lumbar disc herniation(LDH). METHORDS: A literature search of the following electronic databases from their inception to February 2013 was conducted: Chinese Biomedical databases, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Database, China Science and Technology Journal Database, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, MEDLINE, and EMBASE. Randomized controlled trials where CHM had been used to treat LDH were selected. Data extraction, quality assessment, and data analysis were carried out by two independent reviewers. RESULTS: Of the 2415 studies identified, eight with complete data on 1146 patients were selected. The methodological quality was poor in all trials. Five studies reported that CHM was better than Western Medicine [OR=2.81, 95% CI(1.27, 6.18); OR=3.34, 95% CI(1.92, 5.79); OR=2.22, 95% CI(1.08, 4.57); OR= 6.67, 95% CI(1.34, 33.28); and OR=1.94, 95% CI(1.23, 3.06)]. Two studies reported that the clinical outcome was better in CHM groups than in physiotherapy and placebo groups, [OR=3.02, 95% CI(1.08, 8.46); and OR=2.67, 95% CI(1.26, 5.64), respectively], whereas one study reported no difference between CHM and physiotherapy groups. One study reported that CHM resulted in higher Japanese Orthopedic Association scores [MD=7.78, 95% CI(6.67, 8.89)] than in a control group and another that participants treated with CHM had lower Visual Analogue Scale scores [MD=﹣0.72, 95% CI( ﹣0.86, ﹣0.58)] than those in a control group. Three studies reported that the adverse effects of CHM and Western Medicine did not differ significantly [OR=0.10, 95% CI(0.01, 1.85); OR=0.19, 95% CI(0.01, 4.07); and OR=0.07, 95% CI(0.00, 1.32)]. CONCLUSION: CHM may be more effective than other interventions for LDH; however, methodological weaknesses in the studies assessed in this review prevent a definitive conclusion. More high-quality large-scale studies are required to clarify this matter.Yi Luo Jian Huang Lin Xu Weikang Zhao Jie Hao Zhenming Hu 2013Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,6:15
Effect of Saccharomyces cerevisiae on alfalfa nutrient degradation characteristics and rumen microbial populations of steers fed diets with different concentrate-to-forage ratios显示文摘Live yeast(Saccharomyces cerevisiae) constitutes an effective additive for animal production;its probiotic effect may be related to the concentrate-to-forage ratio(CTFR).The objective of this study was to assess the effects of S.cerevisiae(SC) on fiber degradation and rumen microbial populations in steers fed diets with different levels of dietary concentrate.Ten Simmental × Local crossbred steers(450 ± 50 kg BW) were assigned to a control group or an SC group. Both groups were fed the same basal diet but the SC group received SC supplementation(8 × 10~9 cfu/h/d through the ruminal fistula)following a two-period crossover design. Each period consisted of four phases, each of which lasted 17 d:10 d for dietary adaptation,6 d for degradation study, and 1 d for rumen sample collection. From the 1^(st) to the 4^(th) phase, steers were fed in a stepwise fashion with increasing CTFRs,i.e.,30:70,50:50,70:30,and 90:10.The kinetics of dry matter and fiber degradation of alfalfa pellets were evaluated;the rumen microbial populations were detected using real-time PCR.The results revealed no significant(P> 0.05) interactions between dietary CTFR and SC for most parameters.Dietary CTFR had a significant effect(P< 0.01) on degradation characteristics of alfalfa pellets and the copies of rumen microorganism;the increasing concentrate level resulted in linear, quadratic or cubic variation trend for these parameters.SC supplementation significantly(P< 0.05) affected dry matter(DM) and neutral detergent fiber(NDF)degradation rates(c_(DM),c_(NDF)) and NDF effective degradability(ED_(NDF)).Compared with the control group, there was an increasing trend of rumen fungi and protozoa in SC group(P < 0.1);copies of total bacteria in SC group were significantly higher(P< 0.05).Additionally,percentage of Ruminobacter amylophilus was significantly lower(P< 0.05)but percentage of Selenomonas ruminantium was significantly higher(P< 0.05) in the SC group. In a word, dietary CTFR had a significant effect on degradation characteristics of forage and rumen microbial population.S.cerevisiae had positive effects on DM and NDF degradation rate or effective degradability of forage;S.cerevisiae increased rumen total bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and lactate-utilizing bacteria but reduced starch-degrading and lactate-producing bacteria.Gengzhi Ding Ying Chang Liping Zhao Zhenming Zhou Liping Ren Qingxiang Meng 2014Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2014,5,4:15
Paleomagnetic results of Late Paleozoic rocks from northern Qiangtang Block in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, China显示文摘Tectonic evolution of the Tethys and the boundary between the Gondwanaland and the Eurasia during the Carboniferous and Permian remain hotly debated. Qiangtang region in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau may be a key place to study these problems. A paleomagnetic study was conducted on the Late Paleozoic rocks in the northern Qiangtang region (33.7°N, 86.7°W), Tibet. Two sites (21 samples) in the Upper Carboniferous, eleven sites (101 samples) in the Permian, and two sites (16 samples) in the Lower Triassic were investigated. The rock magnetic data revealed hematite and magnetite as the main magnetic carriers. In stepwise thermal demagnetization and/or combined alternating field (AC) demagnetization, two characteristic components in the majority of the samples were identified as (1) the Low-temperature Component (LTC), characterized by northerly decli- nation and moderate to steep inclination, corresponding to a pole position overlay with the present North Pole. A minority of the samples present single component, and their directions are the same as (2) the High-temperature Component (HTC) of double components. The combined single-component and HTC data of the Permian can pass the R-test at 95% level and the F-test at 99% level, as well as the BC-test. The pole position from the Late Carboniferous is at 31.8°S, 45.7°E with dp=2.1, dm=3.9, that from the Early and Middle (Late) Permian is at 31.7°S, 46.8°E with dp=9.2, dm=16.9 (34.4°N, 54.1°E with dp=6.9, dm=12.5) respectively, and that from the Early Triassic is at 16.9°S, 22.5°E with dp=4.9, dm=9.2. These pole positions are different from the other poles for the Qiangtang Block, which suggests the single-component and HTC directions are probably a primary magnetization and the northern Qiangtang Block was paleogeographically situated at low latitudes in the Northern Hemisphere in the Late Paleozoic.CHENG Xin WU HanNing GUO Qiang HOU BaoNing XIA LingYan WANG HaiJun DIAO ZongBao HUO FeiFei JI WenHua LI RongShe CHEN ShouJian ZHAO ZhenMing LIU XiaoJi 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,1:9
Paleomagnetic data from the Late Carboniferous-Late Permian rocks in eastern Tibet and their implications for tectonic evolution of the northern Qiangtang-Qamdo block显示文摘We report paleomagnetic results from the Late Carboniferous-Late Permian strata in eastern Tibet (China), and aim to clarify the tectonic and paleogeographic evolution of the northern Qiangtang-Qamdo block, which is the key to the study of plate boundary between the Gondwanaland and the Eurasia during the late Paleozoic. Two hundred and nineteen samples-including limestone, muddy siltstone, basalt, lava, and tuff-were collected at 24 sites in the Upper Carboniferous and Middle-Upper Permian successions. A systematic study of rock magnetism and paleomagnetism yields three reliable paleomagnetic pole positions. Both hematite and magnetite occurred in the Late Carboniferous limestone samples. The demagnetization curve shows a characteristic double-component, with the remanent magnetization (ChRM) exhibiting a positive polarity (negative inclination). In the Late Permian limestone, tuff, and basalt, magnetic information were recorded primarily in magnetite, although a small fraction of them was found in hematite in basalt. The demagnetization curve illustrates a double or single component, with the ChRM showing a negative polarity (positive inclination), which has passed the classic fold test successfully. The single polarity features of the ChRM directions of the Late Carboniferous and Middle-Late Permian rocks are respectively related to the Kiaman positive and reversed polarities under the stratigraphic coordinates. This, in turn, indicates that both ChRMs directions represent the original remanence directions. By comparison with the previously published paleomagnetic results from the late Paleozoic rocks in the northern Qiangtang Range, we suggest that: (1) Qamdo and northern Qiangtang block were independent of each other during the Late Carboniferous to the Early Permian periods. The north Lancangjiang ocean basin between the two blocks may have closed before the Middle Permian and been involved in the continent-continent collision stage in the Late Permian-Early Triassic periods. (2) The northern Qiangtang-Qamdo Block paleogeographically was situated at low to intermediate latitudes in the Southern Hemisphere in the Late Carboniferous-Late Permian periods, and began to displace northward in the Early Triassic, with an amount of more than 5000 km northward transport from its current location.CHENG Xin WU HanNing DIAO ZongBao WANG HaiJun MA Lun ZHANG XiaoDong YANG Gang HONG JingJing JI WenHua LI RongShe CHEN ShouJian ZHAO ZhenMing 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,7:8

High-throughput screening identifies established drugs as SARS-CoV-2 PLpro inhibitors显示文摘A new coronavirus(SARS-CoV-2)has been identified as the etiologic agent for the COVID-19 outbreak.Currently, effective treatment options remain very limited for this disease;therefore, there is an urgent need to identify new anti-COVID-19 agents. In this study,we screened over 6,000 compounds that included approved drugs, drug candidates in clinical trials, and pharmacologically active compounds to identify leads that target the SARS-CoV-2 papain-like protease(PLpro).Together with main protease(Mpro),PLpro is responsible for processing the viral replicase polyprotein into functional units.There-fore,it is an attractive target for antiviral drug develop-ment.Here we discovered four compounds,YM155,cryptotanshinone,tanshinone I and GRL0617 that inhibit SARS-CoV-2 PLpro with IC50 values ranging from 1.39 to 5.63 pmol/L.These compounds also exhibit strong antiviral activities in cell-based assays.YM155,an anti-cancer drug candidate in clinical trials, has the most potent antiviral activity with an EC50 value of 170 nmol/L.In addition,we have determined the crystal structures of this enzyme and its complex with YM155,revealing a unique binding mode.YM155 simultaneously targets three'hot'spots on PLpro, including the substrate-binding pocket, the interferon stimulating gene product 15(ISG15)binding site and zinc finger motif. Our results demonstrate the efficacy of this screening and repur-posing strategy, which has led to the discovery of new drug leads with clinical potential for COVID-19 treatments.Yao Zhao Xiaoyu Du Yinkai Duan Xiaoyan Pan Yifang Sun Tian You Lin Han Zhenming Jin Weijuan Shang Jing Yu Hangtian Guo Qianying Liu Yan Wu Chao Peng Jun Wang Chenghao Zhu Xiuna Yang Kailin Yang Ying Lei Luke W.Guddat Wenqing Xu Gengfu Xiao Lei Sun Leike Zhang Zihe Rao Haitao Yang 2021Protein & Cell2021,12,11:4
Two-stage ADMM-based distributed optimal reactive power control method for wind farms considering wake effects显示文摘Since the connection of small-scale wind farms to distribution networks, power grid voltage stability has been reduced with increasing wind penetration in recent years, owing to the variable reactive power consumption of wind generators. In this study,a two-stage reactive power optimization method based on the alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM)algorithm is proposed for achieving optimal reactive power dispatch in wind farm-integrated distribution systems.Unlike existing optimal reactive power control methods, the proposed method enables distributed reactive power flow optimization with a two-stage optimization structure.Furthermore, under the partition concept, the consensus protocol is not needed to solve the optimization problems. In this method, the influence of the wake effect of each wind turbine is also considered in the control design.Simulation results for a mid-voltage distribution system based on MATLAB verified the effectiveness of the proposed method.Zhenming Li Zhao Xu Yawen Xie Donglian Qi Jianliang Zhang 2021Global Energy Interconnection2021,4,3:3
Local heat transfer measurements on a rotating flat blade model with a single film hole显示文摘An experimental study was performed to measure the heat transfer coeffcient distributions on a flat blade model under rotating oper-ating conditions. A steady-state thermochromic liquid crystal technique was employed to measure the surface temperature, and all the signals from the rotating reference frame were collected by the telemetering instrument via a wireless connection. Both air and CO2 were used as coolant. Results show that the rotational effect has a significant influence on the heat transfer coeffcient distributions. The pro-files of hg/h0, which is the ratio of heat transfer coeffcient with film cooling to that without film cooling, deffect towards the high-radius locations on both the pressure surface and suction surface as the rotation number (Rt) increases, and the deffective tendency is more evident on the suction surface. The variations in mainstream Reynolds number (ReD) and blowing ratio (M) present different distribu-tions of hg/h0 on the pressure and suction surfaces, respectively. Furthermore, the coolant used for CO2 injection is prone to result in lower heat transfer coeffcients.Guoqiang Xu, Bin Yang*, Zhi Tao, Zhenming Zhao, Hongwei Wu National Key Laboratory on Aero-Engines, School of Jet Propulsion, Beihang University, Beijing 100083, China 2009Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2009,19,3:3
Strain Hardening Associated with Dislocation,Deformation Twinning, and Dynamic Strain Aging in Fe–20Mn–1.3C–(3Cu) TWIP Steels显示文摘The effects of Cu on stacking fault energy, dislocation slip, mechanical twinning, and strain hardening in Fe–20Mn–1.3C twinning-induced plasticity(TWIP) steels were systematically investigated. The stacking fault energy was raised with an average slope of 2 mJ/m2 per 1 wt% Cu.The Fe–20Mn–1.3C–3Cu steel exhibited superior tensile properties, with the ultimate tensile strength reached at 2.27 GPa and elongation up to 96.9% owing to the high strain hardening that occurred. To examine the mechanism of this high strain hardening, dislocation density determination by XRD was calculated. The dislocation density increased with the increasing strain, and the addition of Cu resulted in a decrease in the dislocation density.A comparison of the strain-hardening behavior of Fe–20Mn–1.3C and Fe–20Mn–1.3C–3Cu TWIP steels was made in terms of modified Crussard–Jaoul(C–J) analysis and microstructural observations.Especially at low strains, the contributions of all the relevant deformation mechanisms—slip, twinning, and dynamic strain aging—were quantitatively evaluated. The analysis revealed that the dislocation storage was the leading factor to the increase of the strain hardening, while dynamic strain aging was a minor contributor to strain hardening.Twinning, which interacted with the matrix, acted as an effective barrier to dislocation motion.Lingyan Zhao Dingyi Zhu Longlong Liu Zhenming Hu Mingjie Wang 2014Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2014,27,4:2
HPLC and GC methods development for the analysis of key intermediate for synthesis of dicamba显示文摘The microreactor based hydroxylation process of 1,2,4-trichlorobezene for producing 2,5-dichlorphenol,the key intermediate of dicamba,is energy efficient and cost effective. But the 2,5-dicholorphneol is present in a mixed state after production. The reaction mixture contained the main by-product 2,4-dichlorophneol,low-content by-product 3,4-dichlorophneol,and other impurities. The difficulty in separation and analysis limits the application of this process widely. The current work aimed at establishing effective analysis methods by gas chromatography(GC)and high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).The GC method was not able to separate 2,5-dichlorophenol and 2,4-dichlorophenol completely, but the developed HPLC method worked efficiently. The linear correlation coefficients of 2,5-dichlorophenol and 2,4-dichlorophenol were both higher than 0.999,and the average recovery was 100.33% for 2,5-dichlorophenol and 100.13% for 2,4-dichlorophenol,respectively.The relative standard deviations from precision tests were both less than 1%.The contents of 2,5-dichlorophenol and 2,4-dichlorophenol were determined with external standard method. The HPLC method has the advantages of simple operation, good separation efficiency, high accuracy and precision, and was successfully applied for both qualitative and quantitative analysis of 2,5-dichlorophenol and 2,4-dichlorophenol of the sample solution.Zhenming Zhang He Zhao Xiaohui Wang Weiming Ni Fengsheng Gao Jianrong Wang Minjin Liu Yongli Li 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,5:2
Surface-deformation monitoring in the permafrost regions over the Tibetan Plateau, using Sentinel-1 data显示文摘Differential Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar(D-In SAR) has been widely used to measure surface deformation over the Tibetan Plateau. However, the accuracy and applicability of the D-In SAR method are not well estimated due to the lack of in-situ validation. In this paper, we mapped the seasonal and long-term displacement of Tanggula(TGL) and Liangdaohe(LDH) permafrost regions with a stack of Sentinel-1 acquisitions using the Small Baseline Subset In SAR(SBAS-In SAR) method. In the TGL region, with its dry soils and sparse vegetation, the In SAR-derived surface-deformation trend was consistent with ground-based leveling results; long-term changes of the active layer showed a settlement rate of around 1 to 3 mm/a due to the melting of ground ice, indicating a degrading permafrost in this area. Around half of the deformation was picked up on monitoring, in contrast with in-situ measurements in LDH, implying that the D-In SAR method remarkably underestimated the surface-deformation. This phenomenon may be induced by the large soil-water content, high vegetation coverage, or a combination of these two factors in this region. This study demonstrates that surface deformation could be mapped accurately for a specific region with Sentinel-1 C-band data, such as in the TGL region. Moreover, although the D-In SAR technology provides an efficient solution for broad surface-deformation monitoring in permafrost regions, it shows a poor performance in the region with high soil-water content and dense vegetation coverage.ZhenMing Wu Lin Zhao Lin Liu Rui Zhu ZeShen Gao YongPing Qiao LiMing Tian HuaYun Zhou MeiZhen Xie 2018Research in Cold and Arid Regions2018,10,2:2
OsMADS32 interacts with PI-like proteins and regulates rice flower development显示文摘OsMADS32 is a monocot specific MIKC^c type MADS-box gene that plays an important role in regulating rice floral meristem and organs identity, a crucial process for reproductive success and rice yield. However, its underlying mechanism of action remains to be clari fied. Here, we characterized a hypomorphic mutant allele of OsMADS32/CFO1, cfo1-3 and identi fied its function in controlling rice flower development by bioinformatics and protein-protein interaction analysis. The cfo1-3 mutant produces defective flowers, including loss of lodicule identity, formation of ectopic lodicule or hull-like organs and decreased stamen number, mimicking phenotypes related to the mutation of B class genes. Molecular characterization indicated that mis-splicing of OsMADS32 transcripts in the cfo1-3 mutant resulted in an extra eight amino acids in the K-domain of OsMADS32 protein.By yeast two hybrid and bimolecular fluorescence complementation assays, we revealed that the insertion of eight amino acids or deletion of the internal region in the K1 subdomain of Os MADS32 affects the interaction between OsMADS32 with PISTILLATA(PI)-like proteins OsMADS2 and OsMADS4. This work provides new insight into the mechanism by which Os MADS32 regulates rice lodicule and stamen identity, by interaction with two PI-like proteins via its K domain.Huanhuan Wang Liang Zhang Qiang Cai Yun Hu Zhenming Jin Xiangxiang Zhao Wei Fan Qianming Huang Zhijing Luo Mingjiao Chen Dabing Zhang Zheng Yuan 2015Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2015,57,5:2

Functional analysis of flavanone 3-hydroxylase(F3H)from Dendrobium officinale, which confers abiotic stress tolerance显示文摘Flavonoids are important bioactive components in Dendrobium officinale,a medicinal orchid. They are involved in many biological activities, including protecting plants against biotic and abiotic stresses.Research on the key genes related to flavonoid biosynthesis in D.officinale is limited. In this study, one of the key flavonoid biosynthesis genes, flavanone 3-hydroxylase(F3H),was characterized from D.officinale.The open reading frame of DoF3H was 1134 bp long and it encoded a 377-amino acid protein. The DoF3H protein showed considerably high homology with F3H proteins from other plant species and shared a common evolutionary ancestor with other F3Hs.DoF3H transcripts were detected in different organs of adult plants and mainly accumulated in flowers, followed by roots, stems and leaves,a pattern that was similar to the content of flavonoids.Recombinant DoF3H protein, which was localized in the cytosol, could convert naringenin to dihydrokaempferol. The mRNA levels of DoF3H were significantly induced by salt and cold stresses.Furthermore, the heterologous expression of DoF3H in Escherichia coli conferred it higher tolerance to salt and cold stresses. These results provide insight into the molecular function of DoF3H in the biosynthesis of flavonoids, and provide a new application for improvement of abiotic tolerance in D.officinale.Can Si Wei Dong Jaime A.Teixeira da Silva Chunmei He Zhenming Yu Mingze Zhang Lei Huang Conghui Zhao Danqi Zeng Chuanmao Li Shengxiang Qiu Jun Duan 2023Horticultural Plant Journal2023,9,2:1
