Simultaneous determination of ten taste and odor compounds in drinking water by solid-phase microextraction combined with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry显示文摘Taste and odor(T&O)problems in drinking water frequently occur because of many compounds present in the water,of which trans-1,10-dimethyl-trans-9-decalol(geosmin)and 2-methylisoborneol(MIB)are well-known.In this study,a fast and efective method was established for simultaneous determination of 10 T&O compounds, including geosmin,MIB,2,4,6-trichloroanisole(TCA),2-methylbenzofuran,2-isopropyl-3-methoxypyrazine(IPMP),2-isobutyl-3-methoxypyrazine(IBMP),cis-3-hexenyl acetate,trans,trans-2,4-heptadienal,trans,cis-2,6-nonadienal,and trans-2-decenal in water samples by headspace solid-phase microextraction(SPME)coupled with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. An orthogonal array experimental design was used to optimize the efects of SPME fiber, extraction temperature, stirring rate,NaCl content, extraction time, and desorption time. The limits of detection ranged from 0.1 to 73 ng/L were lower than or close to the odor threshold concentrations(OTCs).All the 10 T&O compounds were detected in the 14 water samples including surface water, treatment process water and tap water, taken from a waterworks in Lianyungang City,China.MIB and geosmin were detected in most samples at low concentration.Six T&O compounds(IPMP,IBMP,trans,cis-2,6-nonadienal,2-methylbenzofuran,trans-2-decenal,and TCA)were efectively decreased in water treatment process(sedimentation and filtration)that is diferent from cis-3-hexenyl acetate,MIB and geosmin. It is noted that the TCA concentrations at 15.9–122.3 ng/L and the trans,cis-2,6-nonadienal concentrations at 79.9–190.1 ng/L were over 10 times higher than their OTCs in tap water. The variation of the analytes in the all water samples, especially distribution system indicated that distribution system cannot be ignored as a T&O compounds source. | Xichao Chen Qian Luo Shengguang Yuan Zi Wei Hanwen Song Donghong Wang Zijian Wang | 2013 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,11: | 21
Adenovirus-mediated wild-type p53 gene transfer in combination with bronchial arterial infusion for treatment of advanced non-small-cell lung cancer, one year follow-up显示文摘Objective:In the present study,we have examined the safety and efficacy of recombinant adenovirus encoding human p53 tumor suppressor gene(rAd-p53) injection in patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC) in the combination with the therapy of bronchial arterial infusion(BAI).Methods:A total of 58 patients with advanced NSCLC were enrolled in a non-randomized,two-armed clinical trial.Of which,19 received a combination treatment of BAI and rAd-p53(the combo group),while the remaining 39 were treated with only BAI(the control group).Patients were followed up for 12 months, with safety and local response evaluated by the National Cancer Institute's Common Toxicity Criteria and response evaluation criteria in solid tumor(RECIST),respectively.Time to progression(TTP) and survival rates were also analyzed by Kaplan-Meier method. Results:In the combo group,19 patients received a total of 49 injections of rAd-p53 and 46 times of BAI,respectively, while 39 patients in the control group received a total of 113 times of BAI.The combination treatment was found to have less adverse events such as anorexia, nausea and emesis, pain, and leucopenia(P<0.05) but more arthralgia,fever,influenza-like symptom, and myalgia(P<0.05),compared with the control group. The overall response rates(complete response(CR)+partial response(PR)) were 47.3% and 38.4% for the combo group and the control group,respectively(P>0.05).Patients in the combo group had a longer TTP than those in the control group(a median 7.75 vs 5.5 months,P=0.018).However,the combination treatment did not lead to better survival, with survival rates at 3,6,and 12 months in the combo group being 94.74%,89.47%,and 52.63%,respectively,compared with 92.31%,69.23%,and 38.83% in the control group(P=0.224).Conclusion:Our results show that the combination of rAd-p53 and BAI was well tolerated in patients with NSCLC and may have improved the quality of life and delayed the disease progression.A further study to better determine the efficacy of this combination therapy is warranted. | Yong-song GUAN Yuan LIU Qing ZOU Qing HE Zi LA Lin YANG Ying HU | 2009 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2009,10,5: | 20
The HuangZaoSi Maize Genome Provides Insights into Genomic Variation and Improvement History of Maize显示文摘Maize is a globally important crop that was a classic model plant for genetic studies. Here, we report a 2.2 Gb draft genome sequence of an elite maize line, HuangZaoSi (HZS). Hybrids bred from HZS-improved lines (HILs) are planted in more than 60% of maize fields in China. Proteome clustering of six completed sequeneed maize genomes show that 638 proteins fall into 264 HZS-specific gene families with the majority of contributions from tandem duplication events. Resequencing and comparative analysis of 40 HZSrelated lines reveals the breeding history of HILs. More than 60% of identified selective sweeps were clustered in identity.by.descent conserved regions, and yield-related genes/QTLs were enriched in HZS characteristic selected regions. Furthermore, we dem on strated that HZS-specific family genes were not uniformly distributed in the genome but enriched in improvement/function.related genomic regions. This study provides an important and novel resource for maize genome research and expands our knowledge on the breadth of genomic variation and improvement history of maize. | Chunhui Li Wei Song Yingfeng Luo Shenghan Gao Ruyang Zhang Zi Shi Xiaqing Wang Ronghuan Wang Fengge Wang Jidong Wang Yanxin Zhao Aiguo Su Shuai Wang Xin Li Meijie Luo Shuaishuai Wang Yunxia Zhang Jianrong Ge Xinyu Tan Ye Yuan Xiaochun Bi Hang He Jianbing Yan Yuandong Wang Songnian Hu Jiuran Zhao | 2019 | Molecular Plant2019,12,3: | 15
Molecular Epidemiological Characteristics of Streptococcus pyogenes Strains Involved in an Outbreak of Scarlet Fever in China,2011显示文摘Objective To investigate molecular characterization of streptococcus pyogenes isolates involved in an outbreak of scarlet fever in China in 2011.Methods Seventy-four Streptococcal pyogenes involved in an outbreak of scarlet fever were isolated from pediatric patients in the areas with high incidence in China from May to August of 2011.Emm genotyping,pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE),superantigen (SAg) genes and antimicrobial susceptibility profiling were analyzed for these isolates. Results A total of 4 different emm types were identified.Emm12 was the most prevalent type which contained four predominating PFGE patterns corresponding to four different virulence and superantigen profiles.Emm12 (79.7%) and emml (14.9%) accounted for approximately 94%of all the isolates. The speA gene was all negative in emm12 isolates and positive in emml isolates. All strains were resistant to erythromycin, and 89.4%of them were resistant to erythromycin, tracycline, and clindamycin simultaneously. Conclusion Several highly diversified clones with a high macrolide resistance rate comprise a predominant proportion of circulating strains, though no new emm type was found in this outbreak. The data provide a baseline for further surveillance of scarlet fever, which may contribute to the explanation of the outbreak and development of a GAS vaccine in China. | YOU Yuan Hai SONG Yan Yan YAN Xiao Mei WANG Hai Bin ZHANG Meng Han TAO Xiao Xia Li Lei Lei ZHANG Yu Xin JIANG Xi Hong ZHANG Bing Hua ZHOU Hao XIAO Di JIN Lian Mei FENG Zi Jian LUO Feng Ji ZHANG Jian Zhong | 2013 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2013,26,11: | 15
Malnutrition and Quality of Life in Chinese Cancer Patients: a Clinical Study of 23,994 Subjects显示文摘Background Malnutrition is common in patients with cancer, and can negatively impact their quality of life(QoL)and even survival. However, there is currently no large data available on the prevalence of malnutrition in Chinese cancer patients. This study evaluated the prevalence of malnutrition and the QoL of Chinese patients with locoregional, recurrent or metastatic cancer. Methods We conducted a nationwide observational,multi-center,hospital-based cross-sectional study within the Chinese Society of Nutritional Oncology(CSNO)Network. All of the patients were diagnosed with one of the following 18 different types of malignant tumors:lung cancer, gastric cancer, liver cancer, colorectal cancer, breast cancer, esophageal cancer, cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, malignant lymphoma, leukemia, pancreatic cancer, ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, brain cancer, biliary tract malignant tumors or gastrointestinal stromal tumors. These patients were enrolled from 72 hospitals located in different regions of China. The patients’nutritional status was evaluated based on the body mass index(BMI),loss of bodyweight, laboratory measurements and patient generated-subjective global assessment(PG-SGA)scores.The cancer patients’physical status and QoL were assessed by the Karnofsky Performance Status(KPS)questionnaire and the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer(EORTC)QLQ-C30 questionnaire, respectively. Results From December 2013 to April 2016,23,994 patients hospitalized for cancer treatment(such as surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy)were enrolled in the study. The patients included 12,494(52.9%)males and 11,124(47.1%)females.The mean age was 55.8±13.7 years. The proportions of patients in cancer stagesⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳand uncertain were 11.5%,20.3%,27.5%,30.2%and 10.5%,respectively.Among the 23,994 inpatients, the proportions of patients who were underweight(BMI<18.5 kg/m2),normal(18.5 kg/m2 | Hong Xia Xu Chun Hua Song Zhen Ming Fu Chang Wang Zeng Qing Guo Yuan Lin Ying Ying Shi Wen Hu Yi Ba Su Yi Li Zeng Ning Li Kun Hua Wang Jing Wu Ying He Jia Jun Yang Cong Hua Xie Fu Xiang Zhou Xin Xia Song Gong Yan Chen Wen Jun Ma Su Xia Luo Zi Hua Chen Ming Hua Cong Hu Ma Chun Ling Zhou Wei Wang Qi Luo Yong Mei Shi Yu Mei Qi Hai Ping Jiang Wen Xian Guan Jun Qiang Chen Jia Xin Chen Yu Fang Lan Zhou Yong Dong Feng Rong Shao Tan Tao Li Jun Wen Ou Qing Chuan Zhao Jian Xiong Wu Min Weng Qing Hua Yao Jiu Wei Cui Wei Li Han Ping Shi the Investigation on Nutrition Status and Clinical Outcome of Common Cancers(INSCOC)Group | 2021 | Journal of Nutritional Oncology2021,6,1: | 8
CONTACT ANALYSIS FOR FIBER-REINFORCED, DELAMINATED LAMINATES WITH KINEMATIC NONLINEARITY显示文摘A macro-micro analytical approach for the anti-penetrating contact problem at the interfaces of the delamination in symmetrically cross-plied,fiber-reinforced rectangular laminates is presented in this paper. The laminate is simply supported and subjected to a uniform transverse load with a through-width delamination buried at the center position.A contact factor is defined to characterize the contact efect and determined using the micro-mechanics of composite material.By analyzing the kinematics of nonlinear deformation at the interfaces of the delamination, the contact force is derived.Asymptotic solutions from perturbation analysis are presented. It is found that the deformation of the laminate involves a global deflection and a local buckling. The antipenetrating contact efects are characterized by the local buckling and are intrinsic properties of the laminates, relying only on the geometries of the delamination and the material properties.Parametric analyses show that the location and size of the contact areas and the distribution of the contact force are hardly afected by the aspect ratio. | Jianghong Xue Li Zi Hong Yuan Renhuai Liu | 2013 | Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2013,26,4: | 7
Gearbox fault diagnosis of rolling mills using multiwavelet sliding window neighboring coefficient denoising and optimal blind deconvolution显示文摘Fault diagnosis of rolling mills, especially the main drive gearbox, is of great importance to the high quality products and long-term safe operation. However, the useful fault information is usually submerged in heavy background noise under the severe condition. Thereby, a novel method based on multiwavelet sliding window neighboring coefficient denoising and optimal blind deconvolution is proposed for gearbox fault diagnosis in rolling mills. The emerging multiwavelets can seize the important signal processing properties simultaneously. Owing to the multiple scaling and wavelet basis functions, they have the supreme possibility of matching various features. Due to the periodicity of gearbox signals, sliding window is recommended to conduct local threshold denoising, so as to avoid the 'overkill' of conventional universal thresholding techniques. Meanwhile, neighboring coefficient denoising, considering the correlation of the coefficients, is introduced to effectively process the noisy signals in every sliding window. Thus, multiwavelet sliding window neighboring coefficient denoising not only can perform excellent fault extraction, but also accords with the essence of gearbox fault features. On the other hand, optimal blind deconvolution is carried out to highlight the denoised features for operators' easy identification. The filter length is vital for the effective and meaningful results. Hence, the foremost filter length selection based on the kurtosis is discussed in order to full benefits of this technique. The new method is applied to two gearbox fault diagnostic cases of hot strip finishing mills, compared with multiwavelet and scalar wavelet methods with/without optimal blind deconvolution. The results show that it could enhance the ability of fault detection for the main drive gearboxes. | YUAN Jing HE ZhengJia ZI YanYang LIU Han | 2009 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2009,52,10: | 7
Validity of the Chinese Version of the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) in Lung Cancer Patients显示文摘The prevalence of malnutrition is high among oncology patients in China. Although the Patient- Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) is widely recognized as an important nutritional assessment tool, it has not been validated for Chinese cancer patients. The purpose of this study was to conduct an analysis of nutrition screening and assessment data to validate the Chinese version of the PG-SGA in Chinese patients with lung cancer. This was an observational, cross-sectional study of 2,000 consecutive adult patients with lung cancer treated at several tertiary hospitals in China. Anthropometric and patient descriptive data were collected. The PG-SGA generated a score for the nutritional risk and a global rating for the nutritional status. The internal consistency, external consistency, and construct validity were evaluated, and a known-groups comparison and principal component analyses were conducted to evaluate the reliability and validity of the PG-SGA. The known-groups comparison demonstrated the ability of the PG-SGA to differentiate lung cancer patients of different nutritional and body mass index (BMI) groups. A confirmatory factor analysis supported the original four-factor structure of the PG-SGA. In terms of the internal and external consistency, the PG-SGA demonstrated intra-class correlation coefficients (ICC) up to 0.987. Alternative form validity was also demonstrated between Box 4 of the PG-SGA and the Karnofsky Performance Status score, with excellent external consistency (r = 0.972, P < 0.001). The construct validity was supported, and selected questionnaire dimensions were evident in the principal component analysis. Significant Spearman correlations (P < 0.001) were demonstrated. The Chinese version of the PG-SGA demonstrated significant reliability and sufficient exploratory properties to support its validity. It seems to be a valid tool that can be used to access the nutritional status of Chinese lung cancer patients. The validity of the PG-SGA in Chinese cancer patients warrants further investigation in other cancer types. | Zhen Ming Fu Hong Xia Xu Chun Hua Song Wei Li Zeng Qing Guo Yuan Lin Ying Ying Shi Wen Hu Yi Ba Su Yi Li Zeng Ning Li Kun Hua Wang Jing Wu Ying He Jia Jun Yang Cong Hua Xie Xin Xia Song Gong Yan Chen Wen Jun Ma Su Xia Luo Zi Hua Chen Ming Hua Cong Hu Ma Chun Ling Zhou Wei Wang Qi Luo Yong Mei Shi Yu Mei Qi Hai Ping Jiang Wen Xian Guan Jun Qiang Chen Jia Xin Chen Yu Fang Lan Zhou Yong Dong Feng Rong Shao Tan Tao Li Jun Wen Ou Qing Chuan Zhao Jian Xiong Wu Chang Wang Han Ping Shi The Investigation on Nutrition Status and Clinical Outcome of Common Cancers (INSCOC) Group | 2016 | Journal of Nutritional Oncology2016,1,1: | 7

Validity of the Chinese Version of the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) in Gastric Cancer Patients显示文摘Purpose Malnutrition is severe among gastric cancer patients in China. While the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) is a widely used nutritional assessment tool, the validation for Chinese patients with gastric cancer has not been performed yet. The aim of this research is to validate the Chinese version of the PGSGA in Chinese gastric cancer patients by conducting analyses of nutrition screening and assessment data. Methods Two thousand consecutive adult patients with gastric cancer were included in this observational, cross-sectional study in several tertiary hospitals in China. A survey was made among those patients, which included several questionnaires and some anthropometric parameters. We calculated the parameters to validate the use of PG-SGA categorizing the nutritional status of gastric cancer patients. Then we performed statistical analysis to evaluate the internal consistency, external consistency, and construct validity. Results This study verified the ability of the PG-SGA to differentiate gastric cancer patients into different nutritional groups. The confirmatory factor analysis verified the original four-factor structure of the PG-SGA. The internal and external consistency was measured by a concordance analysis which showed an intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) of 0.987. The correlations of the Box 4 score with the Karnofsky performance status score demonstrated alternative form validity with good external consistency (Pearson, r = 0.643, P < 0.001). All three anthropometric dimensions of the PG-SGA were supported by principal component analysis. Spearman correlations (P < 0.001) were significant in the majority of tests. | 19 | Extension Protocol for the Investigation on Nutrition Status and Clinical Outcome of Patients with Common Cancers in China(INSCOC)Study:2021 update显示文摘Background Malnutrition is common in patients with cancer, and this adversely affects the survival and quality of life of patients.Chinese Society for Nutritional Oncology issued a multi-center,large-scale,long-term follow-up prospective study, the Investigation on Nutrition Status and Clinical Outcome of Patients with Common Cancers in China(INSCOC study)since 2013.This is an extension to the previous 2013-2020 study protocol. This study still sought to:①address the prognostic impact of nutritional factors and quality of life on cancer patient survival;②describe the overall and cancer-specific incidence and/or distribution of malnutrition and different measurements of patient quality of life. Methods and study design This is an observational,multi-centered,hospital-based prospective cohort study.Data collection will be performed at baseline(within 48 hours after patient admission),during the hospital stay and 30 days after hospital admission.Follow-up will be conducted for 1-20 years after enrollment. The primary outcome will be the all-cause mortality/overall survival, and secondary outcomes will be the length of hospital stay and costs of hospitalization.Study factors will include demographic characteristics, tumor characteristics, information about chronic diseases, hematological measurements(e.g.,red blood cell count, total lymphocyte counts,hemoglobin,albumin,prealbumin,creatinine,C-reactive protein,IL-6),anthropometric measurements(e.g.,height,weight,arm circumference, arm muscle circumference, triceps skinfold thickness, and waist circumference),body composition parameters,PG-SGA scores, quality of life(as indicated by the QLQ-C30 questionnaire),muscle mass(as indicated by the calf circumference),muscle strength(as indicated by the handgrip strength),muscle function(as indicated by the six-meter walking speed test)and physical status assessments(as indicated by the Karnofsky Performance Status scores). This clinical study protocol was approved by local Ethics Committees of all the participating hospitals.Written informed consent is required for each subject included.Discussion This multi-center,large-scale,long-term follow up prospective study will help improve the diagnosis of malnutrition in cancer patients and identify the risk factors associated with adverse clinical outcomes. The anticipated results of this study will highlight the need for a truly scientific appraisal of nutrition therapy in Chinese oncology populations, and finally help treat the potentially reversible elements of malnutrition in cancer patients to improve their clinical outcomes in the future. | Hong Xia Xu Chun Hua Song Liang Yu Yin Chang Wang Zhen Ming Fu Zeng Qing Guo Yuan Lin Ying Ying Shi Wen Hu Yi Ba Su Yi Li Zeng Ning Li Kun Hua Wang Jing Wu Ying He Jia Jun Yang Cong Hua Xie Fu Xiang Zhou Xin Xia Song Gong Yan Chen Wen Jun Ma Su Xia Luo Zi Hua Chen Zhi Kang Chen Ming Hua Cong Hu Ma Chun Ling Zhou Wei Wang Qi Luo Yong Mei Shi Yu Mei Qi Hai Ping Jiang Wen Xian Guan Jun Qiang Chen Xiang Hua Wu Jia Xin Chen Yu Fang Lan Zhou Yong Dong Feng Rong Shao Tan Tao Li Jun Wen Ou Qing Chuan Zhao Jian Xiong Wu Min Weng Qing Hua Yao Ya Yin Yu Quan Jun Lyu Hong Qiu Ming Liu Wei Li Han Ping Shi The Investigation on Nutrition Status and Clinical Outcome of Common Cancers(INSCOC)Group | 2022 | Journal of Nutritional Oncology2022,7,2: | 3
