Epidemiology of Diabetes in Adults Aged 35 and Older from Shanghai,China显示文摘Objective This study aimed to investigate the epidemiology of diabetes in adults from Shanghai, aged 35 and older, in 2013. Methods We estimated the diabetes prevalence in a representative sample of 18,736 adults who were selected through a multistage stratified cluster sampling process. A standard questionnaire containing questions about demographic characteristics and lifestyle factors was distributed. After an overnight fast of at least 10 hours, a venous blood sample was collected from each participant. For each patient without a history of diabetes, another blood sample was drawn 120 min after an oral glucose tolerance test to identify undiagnosed diabetes and prediabetic condition. Results Among Shanghai residents aged 35 and above, the overall weighted prevalence of diabetes was 17.6% [95% confidence interval(CI): 16.4%-18.8%]. The prevalences were 19.3% in men and 15.8% in women as well as 19.1%, 15.4%, and 16.1% in urban, suburban, and rural residents, respectively. In addition, the weighted prevalence of prediabetes was 16.5%(95% CI: 15.3%-17.8%), with the prevalences of 16.5% in men, 16.6% in women, 15.2% in urban residents, 18.0% in suburban residents, and 18.5% in rural residents. Among all patients with diabetes, 68.1%(95% CI: 64.3%-71.6%) were aware of their status, 63.5%(95% CI: 60.0%-66.9%) received diabetes treatment, but only 35.1%(95% CI: 32.4%-37.8%) had adequate glycemic control. Conclusion In Shanghai, diabetes and prediabetes are highly prevalent. However, 1/3rd of diabetes cases are undiagnosed, and the rate of glycemic control is low. | RUAN Ye YAN Qing Hua XU Ji Ying YANG Qun Di YAO Hai Hong LI Rui SHI Yan | 2016 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2016,29,6: | 22

Consensus on the application of negative pressure wound therapy of diabetic foot wounds显示文摘Because China is becoming an aging society, the incidence of diabetes and diabetic foot have been increasing.Diabetic foot has become one of the main health-related killers due to its high disability and mortality rates.Negative pressure wound therapy(NPWT)is one of the most effective techniques for the treatment of diabetic foot wounds and great progress, both in terms of research and its clinical application, has been made in the last 20 years of its development. However, due to the complex pathogenesis and management of diabetic foot, irregular application of NPWT often leads to complications, such as infection, bleeding and necrosis, that seriously affect its treatment outcomes. In 2020,under the leadership of Burns,Trauma and Tissue Repair Committee of the Cross-Straits Medicine Exchange Association, the writing group for‘Consensus on the application of negative pressure wound therapy of diabetic foot wounds’was established with the participation of scholars from the specialized areas of burns, endocrinology, vascular surgery, orthopedics and wound repair.Drawing on evidence-based practice suggested by the latest clinical research, this consensus proposes the best clinical practice guidelines for the application and prognostic evaluation of NPWT for diabetic foot. The consensus aims to support the formation of standardized treatment schemes that clinicians can refer to when treating cases of diabetic foot. | Shizhao Ji Xiaobin Liu Jie Huang Junmin Bao Zhaohong Chen Chunmao Han Daifeng Hao Jingsong Hong Dahai Hu Yufeng Jiang Shang Ju Hongye Li Zongyu Li Guangping Liang Yan Liu Gaoxing Luo Guozhong Lv Xingwu Ran Zhongmin Shi Juyu Tang Aiping Wang Guangyi Wang Jiangning Wang Xin Wang Bing Wen Jun Wu Hailin Xu Maojin Xu Xiaofei Ye Liangxi Yuan Yi Zhang Shichu Xiao Zhaofan Xia | 2021 | Burns & Trauma2021,9,1: | 17
“Omics” in pharmaceutical research: overview, applications, challenges, and future perspectives显示文摘In the post-genomic era, biological studies are characterized by the rapid development and wide application of a series of 'omics' technologies, including genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, transcriptomics, lipidomics, cytomics, metallomics, ionomics, interactomics, and phenomics. These 'omics' are often based on global analyses of biological samples using high through-put analytical approaches and bioinformatics and may provide new insights into biological phenomena. In this paper, the development and advances in these omics made in the past decades are reviewed, especially genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics; the applications of omics technologies in pharmaceutical research are then summarized in the fields of drug target discovery, toxicity evaluation, personalized medicine, and traditional Chinese medicine; and finally, the limitations of omics are discussed, along with the future challenges associated with the multi-omics data processing, dynamics omics analysis, and analytical approaches, as well as amenable solutions and future prospects. | YAN Shi-Kai LIU Run-Hui JIN Hui-Zi LIU Xin-Ru YE Ji SHAN Lei ZHANG Wei-Dong | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2015,13,1: | 16

Allele-defined genome reveals biallelic differentiation during cassava evolution显示文摘Dear Editor,Generation of heterozygous genomes by hybridization between or within species can help maintain plant diversity and serve as a potential source of new species(Baek et al.,2018).Moreover,genomic heterozygosity is associated with genomic coadaptation, developmental stability, and heterosis.Accurate definition of alleles in haplotypes is necessary to precisely characterize allelic variation controlling agriculturally important traits(Shi et al.,2019).Currently,most released genomes have mosaic assembly of haplotypes due to random selection or collapse of alleles during genome assembly(Shi et al.,2019),which masked allelic variation and functional differentiation of divergent alleles in heterozygous species. | Wei Hu Changmian Ji Haitao shi Zhe Liang Zehong Ding Jianqiu Ye Wenjun Ou Gang Zhou Weiwei Tie Yan Yan Jinghao Yang Xiaoying Yang Yunxie Wei Zhiqiang Jin Jianghui Xie Ming Peng Wenquan Wang Anping Guo Biyu Xu Jianchun Guo Songbi Chen Liming Ma Mingcheng Wang Yang Zhou Xiaolong Li Ruoxi Li Siyi Guo Xinhui Xiao Zhongqing Wan Feifei An Jie Zhang Qingyun Leng Yin Li Ray Ming Kaimian Li | 2021 | Molecular Plant2021,14,6: | 8
Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear. Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks. Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease, while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes. | MA Yan ZHU Dong Shan CHEN Ren Bo SHI Nan Nan LIU Si Hong FAN Yi Pin WU Gui Hui YANG Pu Ye BAI Jiang Feng CHEN Hong CHEN Li Ying FENG Qiao GUO Tuan Mao HOU Yong HU Gui Fen HU Xiao Mei HU Yun Hong HUANG Jin HUANG Qiu Hua HUANG Shao Zhen JI Liang JIN Hai Hao LEI Xiao LI Chun Yan LI Min Qing LI Qun Tang LI Xian Yong LIU Hong De LIU Jin Ping LIU Zhang MA Yu Ting MAO Ya MO Liu Fen NA Hui WANG Jing Wei SONG Fang Li SUN Sheng WANG Dong Ting WANG Ming Xuan WANG Xiao Yan WANG Yin Zhen WANG Yu Dong WU Wei WU Lan Ping XIAO Yan Hua XIE Hai Jun XU Hong Ming XU Shou Fang XUE Rui Xia YANG Chun YANG Kai Jun YUAN Sheng Li ZHANG Gong Qi ZHANG Jin Bo ZHANG Lin Song ZHAO Shu Sen ZHAO Wan Ying ZHENG Kai ZHOU Ying Chun ZHU Jun Teng ZHU Tian Qing ZHANG Hua Min WANG Yan Ping WANG Yong Yan 无 | 2020 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2020,33,12: | 8
Loss of the posteromedial support:a risk factor for implant failure after fixation of AO 31-A2 intertrochanteric fractures显示文摘Background:The purpose of this study was to analyze cases of AO31-A2 intertrochanteric fractures(ITFs)and to identify the relationship between the loss of the posteromedial support and implant failure. Methods:Three hundred ninety-four patients who underwent operative treatment for ITF from January 2003 to December 2017 were enrolled.Focusing on posteromedial support, the A2 ITFs were divided into two groups, namely, those with(Group A,n=153)or without(Group B,n=241)posteromedial support post-operatively,and the failure rates were compared.Based on the final outcomes(failed or not),we allocated all of the patients into two groups:failed(Group C,n=66)and normal(Group D,n=328).We separately analyzed each dataset to identify the factors that exhibited statistically significant differences between the groups. In addition,a logistic regression was conducted to identify whether the loss of posteromedial support of A2 ITFs was an independent risk factor for fixation failure. The basic factors were age, sex,American Society of Anesthesiologists(ASA)score, side of affected limb, fixation method(intramedullary or extramedullary),time from injury to operation, blood loss, operative time and length of stay. Results:The failure rate of group B(58,24.07%)was significantly higher than that of group A(8,5.23%)(χ2=23.814,P<0.001).Regarding Groups C and D,the comparisons of the fixation method(P=0.005),operative time(P=0.001),blood loss(P=0.002)and length of stay(P=0.033)showed that the differences were significant. The logistic regression revealed that the loss of posteromedial support was an independent risk factor for implant failure(OR=5.986,95%CI:2.667-13.432)(P<0.001).Conclusions:For AO31-A2 ITFs,the loss of posteromedial support was an independent risk factor for fixation failure. Therefore, posteromedial wall reconstruction might be necessary for the effective treatment of A2 fractures that lose posteromedial support. | Kai-Feng Ye Yong Xing Chuan Sun Zhi-Yong Cui Fang Zhou Hong-Quan Ji Yan Guo Yang Lyu Zhong-Wei Yang Guo-Jin Hou Yun Tian Zhi-Shan Zhang | 2020 | Chinese Medical Journal2020,,1: | 6
A bifunctional ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer protective layer for dendrites-free lithium metal anodes显示文摘Lithium metal batteries are strongly considered as one of the most promising candidates for nextgeneration high-performance battery systems. However, the uncontrollable growth of lithium dendrites and the highly reactive lithium metal result in the severe safety risks and the short lifespan for highenergy-density rechargeable batteries. Here,we demonstrate a hydrophobic and ionically conductive ethylene-vinyl acetate(EVA)copolymer layer can not only endow lithium metal anodes with an air-stable and anti-water surface, but also efficiently suppress the lithium-dendrites growth during the electrochemical cycling process. Therefore, the introduction of the EVA copolymer as a bifunctional protection layer simultaneously improves the anti-water/air performance and electrochemical cycling stability of lithium metal anode. | Yeru Liang Ye Xiao Chong Yan Rui Xu Jun-Fan Ding Ji Liang Hong-Jie Peng Hong Yuan Jia-Qi Huang | 2020 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,9: | 6
Anatomical variation of infra-pyloric artery origination: A prospective multicenter observational study (IPA-Origin)显示文摘Objective: Infra-pyloric artery(IPA) is an important anatomical landmark in treatment of gastric cancer and is the key vessel for pylorus-preserving gastrectomy and subgroup of infra-pyloric lymph nodes. However, its anatomical variation is not thoroughly understood. Our study aimed to clarify the origination of the IPA.Methods: We did this prospective, multicenter, open-label, observational study at gastric surgery departments of34 hospitals in China. Gastric cancer patients aged 18 years or older and scheduled to undergo elective total or distal gastrectomy were assigned. During the surgery, IPA dissecting and exposing the origination point with photographs or video clips were required. The primary outcome was the origination of the IPA. Analysis of variance, χ~2 tests and Fisher's tests were used to analyze the differences between groups. The study is registered at Clinicaltrials.gov(No. NCT03071237).Results: Between May 8 and July 31, 2017, 429 patients were assigned for the study, and 419(97.7%) patients had the IPA dissected and recorded through photograph or video and were included in the primary outcome analysis. The median age was 62 years old, and 73.7% were male. Among the patients, 78.5% received laparoscopic surgery. Single IPA origination was identified in 398(95.0%) patients, including gastroduodenal artery(GDA) in154(36.8%) patients, anterior superior pancreaticoduodenal artery(ASPDA) in 130(31.0%) patients, and right gastroepiploic artery(RGEA) in 114(27.2%) patients. Fifteen(3.6%) patients were identified with multiple IPA and 6(1.4%) patients were identified as IPA absence. The differences in the distribution of surgical approach(P=0.003) and geographic area(P=0.030) were statistically significant. No difference was shown in sex, age, gastrectomy type, tumor location, and clinical T, N and M stage. Conclusions: Our study found that the IPA originates from GDA, ASPDA and RGEA in similar proportions.Laparoscopic surgery may be more helpful in dissection of the IPA than open surgery. | Rulin Miao Jianjun Qu Zhengrong Li Daguang Wang Jiang Yu Weidong Zang Yong Li Fenglin Liu Jian Zhang Wu Song Kai Ye Su Yan Wei Wang Shuangyi Ren Lu Zang Changqing Jing Li Zhang Kuan Wang Weihua Fu Lin Fan Bin Liang Gang Zhao Jun Cai Li Yang Jiaming Zhu Jun You Kun Yang Qingxing Huang Zhaojian Niu Ning Ning Xingfeng Qiu Gang Ji Feng Liang Hua Huang Chao Gao Fei Shan Shuangxi Li Yongning Jia Lianhai Zhang Xiangji Ying Yan Zhang Zhaode Bu Xiangqian Su Gang Zhao Ziyu Li Jiafu Ji | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2018,30,5: | 5

Neutronics analysis for MSR cell with different fuel salt channel geometries显示文摘The neutronic properties of molten salt reactors(MSRs)differ from those of traditional solid fuel reactors owing to their nuclear fuel particularity.Based on the Monte-Carlo N particle transport code, the effects of the size and shape of the fuel salt channel on the neutron physics of an MSR cell are investigated systematically in this study. The results show that the infinite multiplication factor(k?)first increases and then decreases with the change in the graphite cell size under certain fuel volume fraction(FVF)conditions. For the same FVF and average chord length, when the average chord length is relatively small, the k?values for different fuel salt channel shapes agree well. When the average chord length is relatively large, the k?values for different fuel salt channel shapes differ significantly. In addition, some examples of practical applications of this study are presented, including cell selection for the core and thermal expansion displacement analysis of the cell. | Shi-He Yu Ya-Fen Liu Pu Yang Rui-Min Ji Gui-Feng Zhu Bo Zhou Xu-Zhong Kang Rui Yan Yang Zou Ye Dai | 2021 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2021,32,1: | 2
Study on neutronics design of ordered-pebble-bed fluoride-salt- cooled high-temperature experimental reactor显示文摘This paper presents a neutronics design of a 10 MW ordered-pebble-bed fluoride-salt-cooled high-temperature experimental reactor. Through delicate layout, a core with ordered arranged pebble bed can be formed, which can keep core stability and meet the space requirements for thermal hydraulics and neutronics measurements.Overall, objectives of the core include inherent safety and sufficient excess reactivity providing 120 effective full power days for experiments. Considering the requirements above, the reactive control system is designed to consist of 16 control rods distributed in the graphite reflector. Combining the large control rods worth about 18000–20000 pcm, molten salt drain supplementary means(-6980 to -3651 pcm) and negative temperature coefficient(-6.32 to -3.80 pcm/K) feedback of the whole core, the reactor can realize sufficient shutdown margin and safety under steady state. Besides, some main physical properties, such as reactivity control, neutron spectrum and flux, power density distribution, and reactivity coefficient, have been calculated and analyzed in this study. In addition, some special problems in molten salt coolant are also considered, including ~6Li depletion and tritium production. | Rui Yan Shi-He Yu Yang Zou Qun Yang Bo Zhou Pu Yang Hong-Hua Peng Ya-Fen Liu Ye Dai Rui-Ming Ji Xu-Zhong Kang Xing-Wei Chen Ming-Hai Li Xiao-Han Yu | 2018 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2018,29,6: | 2
Moisture-resistant,stretchable NO_(x)gas sensors based on laser-induced graphene for environmental monitoring and breath analysis显示文摘The accurate, continuous analysis of healthcare-relevant gases such as nitrogen oxides(NOx)in a humid environment remains elusive for low-cost,stretchable gas sensing devices. This study presents the design and demonstration of a moisture-resistant,stretchable NO_(x)gas sensor based on laser-induced graphene(LIG).Sandwiched between a soft elastomeric substrate and a moisture-resistant semipermeable encapsulant, the LIG sensing and electrode layer is first optimized by tuning laser processing parameters such as power, image density, and defocus distance. The gas sensor, using a needlelike LIG prepared with optimal laser processing parameters, exhibits a large response of 4.18%o ppm^(-1)to NO and 6.66%o ppm^(-1)to NO_(2),an ultralow detection limit of 8.3 ppb to NO and 4.0 ppb to NO_(2),fast response/recovery,and excellent selectivity. The design of a stretchable serpentine structure in the LIG electrode and strain isolation from the stiff island allows the gas sensor to be stretched by 30%.Combined with a moisture-resistant property against a relative humidity of 90%,the reported gas sensor has further been demonstrated to monitor the personal local environment during dfferent times of the day and analyze human breath samples to classify patients with respiratory diseases from healthy volunteers.Moisture-resistant,stretchable NO_(x)gas sensors can expand the capability of wearable devices to detect biomarkers from humans and exposed environments for early disease diagnostics. | Li Yang Guanghao Zheng Yaoqian Cao Chuizhou Meng Yuhang Li Huadong Ji Xue Chen Guangyu Niu Jiayi Yan Ye Xue Huanyu Cheng | 2022 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2022,8,4: | 2
Biomarkers of aging显示文摘Aging biomarkers are a combination of biological parameters to(i)assess age-related changes,(ii)track the physiological aging process, and(iii)predict the transition into a pathological status.Although a broad spectrum of aging biomarkers has been developed, their potential uses and limitations remain poorly characterized. An immediate goal of biomarkers is to help us answer the following three fundamental questions in aging research:How old are we?Why do we get old?And how can we age slower? This review aims to address this need. Here,we summarize our current knowledge of biomarkers developed for cellular, organ, and organismal levels of aging, comprising six pillars:physiological characteristics, medical imaging, histological features, cellular alterations, molecular changes, and secretory factors. To fulfill all these requisites,we propose that aging biomarkers should qualify for being specific, systemic, and clinically relevant. | Aging Biomarker Consortium Hainan Bao Jiani Cao Mengting Chen Min Chen Wei Chen Xiao Chen Yanhao Chen Yu Chen Yutian Chen Zhiyang Chen Jagadish K Chhetri Yingjie Ding Junlin Feng Jun Guo Mengmeng Guo Chuting He Yujuan Jia Haiping Jiang Ying Jing Dingfeng Li Jiaming Li Jingyi Li Qinhao Liang Rui Liang Feng Liu Xiaoqian Liu Zuojun Liu Oscar Junhong Luo Jianwei Lv Jingyi Ma Kehang Mao Jiawei Nie Xinhua Qiao Xinpei Sun Xiaoqiang Tang Jianfang Wang Qiaoran Wang Siyuan Wang Xuan Wang Yaning Wang Yuhan Wang Rimo Wu Kai Xia Fu-Hui Xiao Lingyan Xu Yingying Xu Haoteng Yan Liang Yang Ruici Yang Yuanxin Yang Yilin Ying Le Zhang Weiwei Zhang Wenwan Zhang Xing Zhang Zhuo Zhang Min Zhou Rui Zhou Qingchen Zhu Zhengmao Zhu Feng Cao Zhongwei Cao Piu Chan Chang Chen Guobing Chen Hou-Zao Chen Jun Chen Weimin Ci Bi-Sen Ding Qiurong Ding Feng Gao Jing-Dong JHan Kai Huang Zhenyu Ju Qing-Peng Kong Ji Li Jian Li Xin Li Baohua Liu Feng Liu Lin Liu Qiang Liu Qiang Liu Xingguo Liu Yong Liu Xianghang Luo Shuai Ma Xinran Ma Zhiyong Mao Jing Nie Yaojin Peng Jing Qu Jie Ren Ruibao Ren Moshi Song Zhou Songyang Yi Eve Sun Yu Sun Mei Tian Shusen Wang Si Wang Xia Wang Xiaoning Wang Yan-Jiang Wang Yunfang Wang Catherine CL Wong Andy Peng Xiang Yichuan Xiao Zhengwei Xie Daichao Xu Jing Ye Rui Yue Cuntai Zhang Hongbo Zhang Liang Zhang Weiqi Zhang Yong Zhang Yun-Wu Zhang Zhuohua Zhang Tongbiao Zhao Yuzheng Zhao Dahai Zhu Weiguo Zou Gang Pei Guang-Hui Liu | 2023 | Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,5: | 2
Highly active sites of NiVB nanoparticles dispersed onto graphene nanosheets towards efficient and pH-universal overall water splitting显示文摘Production of hydrogen(H2) and oxygen(O2) through electrocatalytic water splitting is one of the sustainable, green and pivotal ways to accomplish the ever-increasing demands for renewable energy sources, but remains a big challenge because of the uphill reaction during overall water splitting.Herein,we develop high-performance non-noble metal electrocatalysts for pH-universal water splitting, based on nickel/vanadium boride(NiVB) nanoparticles/reduced graphene oxide(rGO) hybrid(NiVB/rGO)through a facile chemical reduction approach under ambient condition.By virtue of more exposure to surface active sites, superior electron transfer capability and strong electronic coupling, the asprepared NiVB/rGO heterostructure needs pretty low overpotentials of 267 and 151 mV to deliver a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2) for oxygen evolution reaction(OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)respectively, with the corresponding Tafel slope of 44 and 88 mV dec^(-1) in 1.0 M KOH.Moreover, the NiVB/rGO electrocatalysts display a promising performance in a wide-pH conditions that require low overpotential of 310,353 and 489 mV to drive a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2) for OER under 0.5 M KOH,0.05 M H2SO4 and 1.0 M phosphate buffer solution(PBS) respectively, confirming the excellent electrocata lytic performance among state-of-the-art Ni-based electrocatalysts for overall water splitting. Therefore, the interfacial tuning based on incorporation of active heterostructure may pave a new route to develop bifunctional,cost-effective and efficient electrocatalyst systems for water splitting and H2 production. | Muhammad Arif Ghulam Yasin Muhammad Shakeel Muhammad Asim Mushtaq Wen Ye Xiaoyu Fang Shengfu Ji Dongpeng Yan | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,7: | 1
