1Phytoplankton community structure and environmental parameters in aquaculture areas of Daya Bay,South China Sea显示文摘Environmental characteristics and phytoplankton community structure were investigated in two aquaculture areas in Dapeng Cove of Daya Bay,South China Sea,between April 2005 and June 2006.Phytoplankton abundance ranged between 5.0 and 8877.5 cells/mL,with an average of 751.8 cells/mL.The seasonal cycle of phytoplankton were demonstrated by frequent oscillations,with recurrent high abundances from late spring to autumn and a peak stage in late winter.Diatoms were the predominant phytoplankton group,accounting for 93.21%of the total abundance.The next most abundant group was the dinoflagellates,which made up only 1.24%of total abundance. High concentrations of Alexandrium tamarense(Lebour) Balech with a maximum of 603.0 cells/mL were firstly recorded in this area known for high rates of paralytic shellfish poisoning(PSP) contamination.Temperatures and salinities were within the suitable values for the growth of phytoplankton,and were important in phytoplankton seasonal fluctuations.The operation of the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station(DNPS) exerts influences on the phytoplankton community and resulted in the high abundances of toxic dinoflagellate species during the winter months.Dissolved inorganic nitrogen(DIN) and dissolved silicate(DSi) were suffcient,and rarely limited for the growth of phytoplankton.Dissolved inorganic phosphorus(DIP) was the most necessary element for phytoplankton growth. 2A life support-based comprehensive treatment regimen dramatically lowers the in-hospital mortality of patients with fulminant myocarditis: a multiple center study显示文摘Fulminant myocarditis(FM) has unacceptable high mortality. This study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of a life support-based comprehensive treatment regimen(LSBCTR), a completely novel treatment regimen, for FM. A total of 169 FM patients recruited from January 2008 to December 2018 were divided into two groups: patients receiving LSBCTR(81 cases),which includes(i) mechanical life support(positive pressure respiration, intra-aortic balloon pump with or without extracorporeal membrane oxygenation),(ii) immunomodulation therapy using sufficient doses of glucocorticoids and immunoglobulins, and(iii) application of neuraminidase inhibitors, and those receiving conventional treatment(88 cases). The endpoints were in-hospital death and heart-transplantation. Of all the population, 44 patients(26.0%) died in hospitals. Inhospital mortality was 3.7%(3/81) for LSBCTR group and 46.6%(41/88) for traditional treatment(P<0.001). Early application of LSBCTR, mechanical life support, neuraminidase inhibitors, and immunomodulation therapy significantly contributed to reduction in in-hospital mortality. This study describes a novel treatment regimen for FM patients that dramatically reduces inhospital mortality. 3Constraining the timing of the India-Asia continental collision by the sedimentary record显示文摘Placing precise constraints on the timing of the India-Asia continental collision is essential to understand the successive geological and geomorphological evolution of the orogenic belt as well as the uplift mechanism of the Tibetan Plateau and their effects on climate,environment and life.Based on the extensive study of the sedimentary record on both sides of the Yarlung-Zangbo suture zone in Tibet,we review here the present state of knowledge on the timing of collision onset,discuss its possible diachroneity along strike,and reconstruct the early structural and topographic evolution of the Himalayan collided range.We define continent-continent collision as the moment when the oceanic crust is completely consumed at one point where the two continental margins come into contact.We use two methods to constrain the timing of collision onset:(1) dating the provenance change from Indian to Asian recorded by deep-water turbidites near the suture zone,and(2) dating the age of unconformities on both sides of the suture zone.The first method allowed us to constrain precisely collision onset as middle Palaeocene(59±l Ma).Marine sedimentation persisted in the collisional zone for another 20-25 Ma locally in southern Tibet,and molassic-type deposition in the Indian foreland basin did not begin until another 10-15 Ma later.Available sedimentary evidence failed to firmly document any significant diachroneity of collision onset from the central Himalaya to the western Himalaya and Pakistan so far.Based on the Cenozoic stratigraphic record of the Tibetan Himalaya,four distinct stages can be identified in the early evolution of the Himalayan orogen:(1) middle Palaeocene-early Eocene earliest Eohimalayan stage(from 59 to 52 Ma):collision onset and filling of the deep-water trough along the suture zone while carbonate platform sedimentation persisted on the inner Indian margin;(2) early-middle Eocene early Eohimalayan stage(from 52 to 41 or 35 Ma):filling of intervening seaways and cessation of marine sedimentation;(3) late Eocene-Oligocene late Eohimalayan stage(from 41 to 25 Ma):huge gap in the sedimentary record both in the collision zone and in the Indian foreland;and(4) late Oligocene-early Miocene early Neohimalayan stage(from 26 to 17 Ma):rapid Himalayan growth and onset of molasse-type sedimentation in the Indian foreland basin.HU XiuMian WANG JianGang AN Wei Eduardo GARZANTI LI Juan 2017Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,4:32
4Chinese expert consensus statement on the diagnosis and treatment of fulminant myocarditis显示文摘Fulminant myocarditis is primarily caused by infection with any number of a variety of viruses. It arises quickly, progresses rapidly, and may lead to severe heart failure or circulatory failure presenting as rapid-onset hypotension and cardiogenic shock,with mortality rates as high as 50%–70%. Most importantly, there are no treatment options, guidelines or an expert consensus statement. Here, we provide the first expert consensus, the Chinese Society of Cardiology Expert Consensus Statement on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Fulminant Myocarditis, based on data from our recent clinical trial(NCT03268642). In this statement, we describe the clinical features and diagnostic criteria of fulminant myocarditis, and importantly, for the first time,we describe a new treatment regimen termed life support-based comprehensive treatment regimen. The core content of this treatment regimen includes(i) mechanical life support(applications of mechanical respirators and circulatory support systems,including intraaortic balloon pump and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation),(ii) immunological modulation by using sufficient doses of glucocorticoid, immunoglobulin and(iii) antiviral reagents using neuraminidase inhibitor. 5Chinese Stroke Association guidelines for clinical management of cerebrovascular disorders: executive summary and 2019 update of clinical management of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis显示文摘Aim Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis(CVST)is a less common cerebrovascular disease that predominantly affects young patients.The incidence of CVST is 2-5/10000000/year,accounting for 0.5%-1%of all stroke.To reduce mortality and morbidity associated with CVST,Chinese Stroke Association commissioned the authors to write the current guideline on the management of CVST.Methods PubMed(MEDLINE),CNKI and Wanfang database were searched for studies related to CVST from 1 January 1990 to 31 July 2019.Data were synthesised by evidence tables.Each recommendation was fully discussed by the writing group members and reviewed by Chinese Stroke Association Stroke Fellow Committees.Levels of evidence grading algorithm of Chinese Stroke Association was used to grade each recommendation.results This guideline mainly focuses on the diagnostic evaluation,therapeutic strategies and secondary prevention of CVST.CT/CTV and MRI/MRV are recommended in the initial imaging evaluation of patients with suspected CVST.Anticoagulation therapy with low-molecular weight heparin should be initiated in patients with CVST immediately.After the acute stage,warfarin is recommended for 3-6 months to prevent the recurrence of CVST and other venous thromboembolic events.Conclusions The guideline summarises the current evidence regarding the management of CVST,and provides references for diagnosis,treatment and secondary prevention of CVST in China.Yuhua Fan Jian Yu Hongbing Chen Jian Zhang Jiangang Duan Dapeng Mo Wenhao Zhu Bo Wang Fubing Ouyang Yicong Chen Linfang Lan Jinsheng Zeng Chinese Stroke Association Stroke Council CVST Guideline Writing Committee 2020Stroke & Vascular Neurology2020,5,2:14
6Impact of mechanical circulatory support and immunomodulation therapy on outcome of patients with fulminant myocarditis: Chinese registry of fulminant myocarditis显示文摘Dear Editor,Patients presenting with acute myocarditis and sudden hemodynamic instability (termed fulminant myocarditis [FM]) still have a high mortality and need for heart transplantation, up to 28% at 60 days.1,2,3 Recent scientific statements and expert opinion consensus suggests early use of temporary mechanical circulatory supports (t-MCS).3,4 Specifically, Chinese scientific statement proposed an extensive use of t-MCS combined with immunoregulatory therapy (IT),4 although formal trials are lacking. We present a multicenter, retrospective study to compare the outcome of patients who were treated with t-MCS and IT vs. patients who didn’t receive these treatments. We included patients with the diagnosis of FM based on the presence of viral prodromal signs/symptoms followed by acute onset of severe heart failure (HF) without other relevant differential diagnosis or pre-existing cardiac disorders. 8Temporal echocardiography findings in patients with fulminant myocarditis: beyond ejection fraction decline显示文摘The features of myocardial strains from speckle-tracking echocardiography (STE) have not been well defined in fulminant myocarditis (FM) patients.In this study,changes in the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and global and layer-specific myocardial strains over time were monitored.We aimed to determine the echocardiographic patterns of FM and ascertain their significance in FM treatment.Twenty patients who were clinically diagnosed with FM and received mechanical life support were prospectively enrolled.Conventional echocardiographic measurements were obtained,and serial strain echocardiography was performed from admission to hospital discharge until LVEF recovery (> 50%).Global/regional peak systolic longitudinal strains (GLS/RLS) and layer-specific longitudinal strains were quantified,and their changes with time were monitored in 14 FM patients.All patients had severely impaired cardiac function.Steep improvement in LVEF and GLS were observed within 6 days.Layer-specific strain analysis showed that reduction at admission or recovery at discharge in the endocardium and epicardium strains were equal.In conclusion,FM patients who received mechanical circulatory supports exhibited steep improvement in ventricular function within 6 days.The patchy and diffused distribution pattern of reduced RLS and equally and severely impaired strain in the endocardium and epicardium are valuable features in the diagnosis of FM.Houjuan Zuo Rui Li Fei Ma Jiangang Jiang Kun Miao Haojie Li Eike Nagel Marijana Tadic Hong Wang Dao Wen Wang 2020Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,3:10
9Genotype variations in accumulation of cadmium and lead in celery (Apium graveolens L.) and screening for low Cd and Pb accumulative cultivars显示文摘To help reduce risks of heavy metal pollution, two pot experiments were conducted to investigate the variations, transfer potential, and stability of Cadmium (Cd) and Lead (Pb) accumulations in celery (Apium graveolens L.) and to screen for low Cd and Pb accumulative cultivars. The maximum differences in shoot Cd concentration were 4.7-fold under low-Cd exposure and 3.3-fold under high-Cd exposure. These genotype variations in Cd accumulation are sufficiently large to help reduce Cd contamination risk in soil by using the Low-Cd-Accumulative genotypes. Cd accumulation of the Low-Cd-Accumulative genotypes is significantly positive correlated with Pb accumulation. Evidence obtained proves that Cd and Pb accumulations in celery are stable and genotype-dependent at the cultivar level. The presence of high-Pb contamination in soil promoted Cd accumulation in shoots of celery. Celery is considered a species with high risks in Cd pollution and low risks in Pb pollution. Among the tested cultivars, cv. 10Decreased serum albumin level indicates poor prognosis of COVID-19 patients: hepatic injury analysis from 2,623 hospitalized cases显示文摘Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) is a global pandemic which has caused numerous deaths worldwide. The present study investigated the roles of hypoproteinemia in the clinical outcome and liver dysfunction of COVID-19 patients. In this retrospective study, we extracted data from 2,623 clinically confirmed adult COVID-19 patients(≥18 years old) between January 29,2020 and March 6, 2020 in Tongji Hospital, Wuhan, China. The patients were divided into three groups—non-critically ill,critically ill, and death groups—in accordance with the Chinese Clinical Guideline for COVID-19. Serum albumin, low-density lipoproteins cholesterol(LDL-C), and high-density lipoproteins cholesterol(HDL-C) concentrations and inflammatory cytokines levels were measured and compared among these three groups. The median age of these 2,623 patients was 64 years old(interquartile range(IQR), 52–71). Among the patients enrolled in the study, 2,008(76.6%) were diagnosed as non-critically ill and 615(23.4%) were critically ill patients, including 383(14.6%) critically ill survivors and 232(8.8%) critically ill deaths in the hospital. Marked hypoalbuminemia occurred in 38.2%, 71.2%, and 82.4% patients in non-critically ill, critically ill, and death groups, respectively, on admission and 45.9%, 77.7%, and 95.6% of these three groups, respectively, during hospitalization. We also discovered that serum low-density lipoprotein(LDL) and HDL levels were significantly lower in critically ill and death groups compared to non-critically ill group. Meanwhile, the patients displayed dramatically elevated levels of serum inflammatory factors, while a markedly prolonged activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT) in critically ill patients reflected coagulopathy. 12Study on hydrometallurgical process and kinetics of manganese extraction from low-grade manganese carbonate ores显示文摘In order to utilize low-grade manganese ore resources effectively, a hydrometallurgical process was developed for manganese extraction in dilute sulfuric acid medium, and the kinetics of leaching manganese was also investigated. At room temperature, manganese from low-grade manganese carbonate ores was extracted by sulfuric acid leaching without reductants. During the extracting process, single-factor analysis method was used to evaluate the effects of grinding fineness, sulfuric acid concentration,liquid-to-solid ratio, agitation rate and leaching time on the leaching efficiencies of Mn and Fe. The optimal leaching conditions are determined as coarse particles of below 2 mm size(without ball-milling),sulfuric acid concentration of 0.86 mol/L, liquid-to-solid ratio of 5:1, agitation rate of 150 r/min and leaching for 180 min at room temperature. Under the optimal conditions, the leaching efficiencies of Mn and Fe are 96.21% and 13.35%, respectively. In addition, through the experiments at different temperatures, it is found that the leaching process follows the shrinking core model under the conditions of changing acid concentration and intermittent reaction device. 13Preparation of chemical manganese dioxide from manganese sulfate显示文摘Chemical Manganese Dioxide (CMD) was prepared by an alkali-oxidation method. There are several virtues to this environmental friendly and clean process, including the nontoxic and harmless reagents and products, easy operations, no pollutants, easily obtained raw materials and moderate reaction conditions. The synthesized manganese dioxide was characterized by XRD and SEM. The particles were small, consisting primarily of α-MnO2 and γ-MnO2. Experimental results showed that the optimum conditions were: MnSO4?H2O to NaOH ratio, 1.0:2.4; catalyst concentration (catalyst TF-2), 6% of the MnSO4; initial solution pH, 11; reaction time and temperature, 20 min and 80 °C; air flow, 0.20 m3/h; and, agitation rate, 700 r/min. 14Geochemical baseline determination and contamination of heavy metals in the urban topsoil of Fuxin City,China显示文摘Urban topsoil is the most frequent interface between human society and natural environment.The accumulation of heavy metals in the urban topsoil has a direct effect on residents'life and health.The geochemical baseline of heavy metals is an objective description of the general level of heavy metals in the urban topsoil.Meanwhile,the determination of geochemical baseline is necessary for regional environmental management,especially in coal cities prone to heavy metal pollution.Heavy metal pollution has become an environmental problem in Fuxin City,China for a long time.To establish the geochemical baseline of heavy metals in the topsoil of Fuxin City and to evaluate the ecological risk of the topsoil,we collected 75 topsoil samples(0–20 cm)and analyzed the concentrations of Cu,Ni,Zn,Pb,Cr,Cd,Hg and As through X-ray fluorescence spectrometry,atomic absorption spectrometry and inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry.We determined the geochemical baseline of heavy metals in the topsoil of Fuxin City by using iteration removal,box-whisker plot,cumulative frequency curve and reference metal normalization;evaluated the contamination risk and ecological risk of the topsoil by using the baseline factor index,Nemerow index and Hakanson potential ecological risk index;and identified the source category of heavy metals in the topsoil by using a pedigree clustering heatmap.Results showed that the geochemical baseline values were 42.86,89.34,92.23,60.55,145.21,0.09,0.08 and 4.17 mg/kg for Cu,Ni,Zn,Pb,Cr,Cd,Hg and As,respectively.The results of Nemerow index and Hakanson potential ecological risk index indicated that the urban topsoil in the study area was slightly contaminated and suffering low potential ecological risk.The main contaminated areas dominated in the middle part and northeast part of the study area,especially in the western Haizhou Strip Mine.The result of baseline factor index indicated that Hg and Cd were the major pollution elements.Using a pedigree clustering heatmap,we divided the sources of these heavy metals into three types:type I for Ni and Cr,largely represented the enrichment of heavy metals from natural sources;type II for Cu,Pb,Zn,Cd and As,mainly represented the enrichment of heavy metals from anthropogenic sources;and type III for Hg,represented the form of both natural and anthropogenic inputs.ZHANG Hua YU Miao XU Hongjia WEN Huan FAN Haiyan WANG Tianyi LIU Jiangang 2020Journal of Arid Land2020,12,6:5
15Malware Detection Algorithm Based on the Attention Mechanism and ResNet显示文摘The cost of misclassifying a malware program as normal is often higher than that of misclassifying a normal program as malware.Therefore,how to improve the detection accuracy of malware programs is a very important problem.This paper proposes a deep learning malware program detection algorithm based on attention mechanism.Word2Vec model is used to map the Application programming interface(API)into word vectors,and all word vectors of each sample are arranged into a matrix with the same size.On this basis,residual network is used to extract features of samples.The features are input into the attention mechanism to learn the similarity between samples.Then,the features are weighted with the similarity to obtain the new features with better robustness.The new features and the original features are added element by element to obtain the sample features more suitable for classification.Finally,samples are classified by classifier.Experiments show that the classification effect of the proposed method is better than that of the traditional machine learning method.WANG Lele WANG Binqiang ZHAO Peipei LIU Ruyi LIU Jiangang MIAO Qiguang 2020Chinese Journal of Electronics2020,29,6:5
16Nuclear miR-665 aggravates heart failure via suppressing phosphatase and tensin homolog transcription显示文摘Although numerous miRNAs have been discovered,their functions in the different subcellular organelles have remained obscure.In this study,we found that miR-665 was enriched in the nucleus of cardiomyocytes,and then investigated the underlying role of nuclear miR-665 in heart failure.RNA fluorescence in situ hybridization assays in human heart tissue sections and primary cardiomyocytes showed that miR-665 was localized in the nucleus of cardiomyocytes.Increased expression of nuclear miR-665 was observed not only in the cardiomyocytes isolated from the heart of mice treated in vivo by transverse aortic constriction(TAC),but also in phenylephrine(PE)-treated cultured cardiomyocytes in vitro.To further explore the role of miR-665 in heart failure,a type 9 recombinant adeno-associated virus(rAAV)system was employed to manipulate the expression of miR-665 in mice.Overexpression of miR-665 aggravated TAC-induced cardiac dysfunction,while down-expression of miR-665 showed opposite effects.Bioinformatic prediction and biological validation confirmed that the PTEN(phosphatase and tensin homolog)gene was one of the targets of miR-665 in the nucleus.Furthermore,restoring PTEN expression significantly eliminated the destructive effects of miR-665 over-expression in TAC-induced cardiac dysfunction.Our data showed that nuclear miR-665 aggravates heart failure via inhibiting PTEN expression,which provided a therapeutic approach for heart failure.Jiahui Fan Xudong Zhang Xiang Nie Huaping Li Shuai Yuan Beibei Dai Jiabing Zhan Zheng Wen Jiangang Jiang Chen Chen Daowen Wang 2020Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,5:4
17Interference-Driven Designs of Nonlinear-Phase FIR Filter with Application in FBMC System显示文摘In the forthcoming 5G systems, new technologies, such as amorphous networks and non-orthogonal filter bank multicarriers(FBMC), provide an effective way to accommodate high-rate transmissions. Meanwhile, the prototype filter affects the adjacent channel interference, and therefore is important for FBMC systems. Besides, once the amorphous network is taken into account, the requirement for interference controlmust be much stricter. Accordingly, this paper focuses on the design of prototype filter with better ability of interference controlling, where we exploit the nonlinear phase FIR filter(NLPFF) instead of traditional linear phase FIR filter(LPFF) to achieve more optimization spaces under a small sacrifice of linear phase. In ourdesigns, both the amplitude and phase responsesare handled independently to approach the stopband performance enhancements, in while the nearly perfect reconstruction(NPR) conditionsare relaxed by pre-specified thresholds. 18Profiling and bioinformatics analysis of differentially expressed circular RNAs in human intervertebral disc degeneration显示文摘The functional changes of nucleus pulposus (NP) cells are considered to be the initiating factors of intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD), and the differentially expressed circRNAs in NP cells may play an important role in the process of IDD. To identify circular RNAs (circRNAs) associated with human IDD, we isolated the NP cells from human degenerated and non-degenerated intervertebral disc and identified NP cells by microscopy and cell proliferation. CircRNA microarray expression profiles were obtained from NP cells of degenerated and non-degenerated intervertebral disc and further validated by quantitative reverse transcription PCR (qRTPCR). The expression data were analyzed by bioinformatics. Microarray analysis identified 7294 circRNAs differentially expressed in degenerated human IDD NP cells. Among them, 3724 circRNAs were up-regulated and 3570 circRNAs were down-regulated by more than 2 folds. After validating by qRT-PCR, we predicted the possible miRNAs of the top dysregulated circRNAs using TargetScan, and miRanda. Furthermore, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis showed that the most modulated circRNAs regulate the viability, degradation, apoptosis and oxidative stress in NP cells, and the possible mechanism underlying IDD was discussed. 19Identification of Cognitive Dysfunction in Patients with T2DM Using Whole Brain Functional Connectivity显示文摘Majority of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)patients are highly susceptible to several forms of cognitive impairments,particularly dementia.However,the underlying neural mechanism of these cognitive impairments remains unclear.We aimed to investigate the correlation between whole brain resting state functional connections(RSFCs)and the cognitive status in 95 patients with T2DM.We constructed an elastic net model to estimate the Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA)scores,which served as an index of the cognitive status of the patients,and to select the RSFCs for further prediction.Subsequently,we utilized a machine learning technique to evaluate the discriminative ability of the connectivity pattern associated with the selected RSFCs.The estimated and chronological MoCA scores were significantly correlated with R=0.81 and the mean absolute error(MAE)=1.20.Additionally,cognitive impairments of patients with T2DM can be identified using the RSFC pattern with classification accuracy of 90.54%and the area under the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve(AUC)of 0.9737.This connectivity pattern not only included the connections between regions within the default mode network(DMN),but also the functional connectivity between the task-positive networks and the DMN,as well as those within the task-positive networks.The results suggest that an RSFC pattern could be regarded as a potential biomarker to identify the cognitive status of patients with T2DM.Zhenyu Liu Jiangang Liu Huijuan Yuan Taiyuan Liu Xingwei Cui Zhenchao Tang Yang Du Meiyun Wang Yusong Lin Jie Tian 2019Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2019,17,4:4
