3Source apportionment of VOCs in a typical medium-sized city in North China Plain and implications on control policy显示文摘Characteristics of atmospheric VOCs(volatile organic compounds) have been extensively studied in megacities in China, however, they are scarcely investigated in medium/smallsized cities in North China Plain(NCP).A comprehensive research on possible sources of VOCs was conducted in a medium-sized city of NCP, from May to September 2019.A total of 143 canister samples of 8 sites in Xuchang city were collected, and 57 VOC species were detected.The average VOC concentrations were 42.6 ± 31.6 μg/m3, with 53.7 ± 31.0 μg/m3 and 32.1 ± 27.8 μg/m^(3), in the morning and afternoon, respectively.Alkenes and aromatics contributed 80% of the total ozone formation potential(OFP).Aromatics accounted for more than 95% of secondary organic aerosol potential(SOAP).VOCs were dominated by the local emission with significant transport from the southeast direction.PMF analysis extracted 6 sources, which were combustion(33.1%), LPG usage(19.3%), vehicular exhaust & fuel evaporation(15.8%), solvent usage(15.2%), industrial(9.11%) and biogenic(7.51%), respectively and they contributed 33.4%, 17.6%, 12.9%, 18.6%, 9.28% and 8.22% to the OFP, respectively.Combustion and LPG usage were the dominant VOC sources;and combustion, solvent usage and LPG usage were the main sources of OFP in Xuchang city, which were different to megacities in China with a high contribution from vehicular exhaust, solvent usage and industry,suggesting specific control strategies on VOCs need to be implemented in medium-sized city such as Xuchang city.Juanjuan Qin Xiaobo Wang Yanrong Yang Yuanyuan Qin Shaoxuan Shi Peihua Xu Rongzhi Chen Xueming Zhou Jihua Tan Xinming Wang 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,9:6

6Synchronous chirp mode extraction: A promising tool for fault diagnosis of rolling element bearings under varying speed conditions显示文摘As critical components in modern aerospace productions,rolling element bearings(REBs)generally work under varying speed conditions,which brings great challenges to their operating health monitoring.Some novel time–frequency decomposition(TFD)algorithms are established recently to extract nonlinear features from the non-stationary signals effectively,which are promising for realizing fault diagnosis of REBs under varying speed conditions.However,numerous personal experiences must be incorporated and the anti-noise performance of these methods needs to be further enhanced.Given these issues,a synchronous chirp mode extraction(SCME)-based REB fault diagnosis method is proposed for the health monitoring of REBs under varying speed conditions in this study.It mainly consists of following two parts.(a)The shaft rotational frequency(SRF)is initially estimated from the low-frequency band of the vibration signal.Simultaneously,an adaptive refining strategy is incorporated to obtain a suitable bandwidth parameter.(b)A cycle-one-step estimation frame is constructed to extract synchronous modes from the envelope waveform of the vibration signal.Meanwhile,a synchronous mode spectrum(SMS)is generated using the information of the extracted synchronous modes,which is a novel REBs fault diagnosis technique with tacholess and resampling-free.In contrast to the current TFD algorithms,the proposed method needs fewer input parameters and owns a well anti-noise performance because there is no iterative optimization in the procedure of construction of SMS.As a result,the health conditions of REBs are evaluated by detecting the exhibited features in the SMS.Simulations and experiments are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method in terms of REB fault diagnosis.Analysis results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms the current TFD algorithm and the conventional order tracking technique for fault diagnosis of REB under varying speed conditions.Xingxing JIANG Qiang HUANG Changqing SHEN Qian WANG Kun XU Jie LIU Juanjuan SHI Zhongkui ZHU 2022Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2022,35,1:3
7Generation of rat blood vasculature and hematopoietic cells in rat-mouse chimeras by blastocyst complementation显示文摘Interspecies chimera through blastocyst complementation could be an alternative approach to create human organs in animals by using human pluripotent stem cells.A mismatch of the major histocompatibility complex of vascular endothelial cells between the human and host animal will cause graft rejection in the transplanted organs.Therefore,to achieve a transplantable organ in animals without rejection,creation of vascular endothelial cells derived from humans within the organ is necessary.In this study,to explore whether donor xeno-pluripotent stem cells can compensate for blood vasculature in host animals,we generated rat-mouse chimeras by injection of rat embryonic stem cells(rESCs)into mouse blastocysts with deficiency of Flk-1 protein,which is associated with endothelial and hematopoietic cell development.We found that rESCs could differentiate into vascular endothelial and hematopoietic cells in the rat-mouse chimeras.The whole yolk sac(YS)of Flk-1^EGFP/ECFP rat-mouse chimera was full of rat blood vasculature.Rat genes related to vascular endothelial cells,arteries,and veins,blood vessels formation process,as well as hematopoietic cells,were highly expressed in the YS.Our results suggested that rat vascular endothelial cells could undergo proliferation,migration,and self-assembly to form blood vasculature and that hematopoietic cells could differentiate into B cells,T cells,and myeloid cells in rat-mouse chimeras,which was able to rescue early embryonic lethality caused by Flk-1 deficiency in mouse.Xiaomin Wang Hui Shi Juanjuan Zhou Qingjian Zou Quanjun Zhang Shixue Gou Pengfei Chen Lisha Mou Nana Fan Yangyang Suo Zhen Ouyang Chengdan Lai Quanmei Yan Liangxue Lai 2020Journal of Genetics and Genomics2020,47,5:2
8Efficient benzaldehyde photosynthesis coupling photocatalytic hydrogen evolution显示文摘Photosynthesis of organic compounds in coupling with promoted hydrogen evolution under mild conditions of light irradiation is considered as one of the most efficient and promising approach to obtain high purity hydrogen and value-added chemicals concurrently by utilizing green solar energy.Here,we report the synthesis of Ni S nanoparticle-modified Cd S nanorod composites(Ni S/Cd S)as an efficient bifunctional catalyst for the highly selective photocatalytic synthesis of high-value-added product benzaldehyde(BAD)from aqueous solution of benzyl alcohol(BA)under oxygen-free conditions,in accompanying with the efficient hydrogen evolution.The synergetic catalytic effect between Ni S and Cd S is proposed to play an important role in elevating the photo-redox performance.The composition-optimized 30%Ni S/Cd S catalyst affords an extraordinarily high H;generation rate of 207.8μmol h^(-1)and a simultaneous BAD generation rate of 163.8μmol h^(-1)under visible light irradiation,which are respectively 139 and 950 times higher than those of Cd S without Ni S modification.To our knowledge,these are the highest photocatalytic production rates of both H_(2)and aldehyde ever reported on the concurrent photocatalytic of aldehyde synthesis and hydrogen evolution in green aqueous solution.This work provides a highly efficient photosynthesis strategy for the concurrent productions of high-value-added fine chemicals and hydrogen.Juanjuan Luo Min Wang Lisong Chen Jianlin Shi 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,3:2
9Inhibition of lipogenesis and induction of apoptosis by valproic acid in prostate cancer cells via the C/EBPα/SREBP-1 pathway显示文摘Lipid metabolism reprogramming is now accepted as a new hallmark of cancer.Hence,targeting the lipogenesis pathway may be a potential avenue for cancer treatment.Valproic acid(VPA)emerges as a promising drug for cancer therapy;however,the underlying mechanisms are not yet fully understood.In this study,we aimed to investigate the effects and mechanisms of VPA on cell viability,lipogenesis,and apoptosis in human prostate cancer PC-3 and LNCaP cells.The results showed that VPA significantly reduced lipid accumulation and induced apoptosis of PC-3 and LNCaP cells.Moreover,the expression of CCAAT/enhancer-binding proteinα(C/EBPα),as well as sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1(SREBP-1)and its downstream effectors,including fatty acid synthase(FASN),acetyl CoA carboxylase 1(ACC1),and anti-apoptotic B-cell lymphoma 2(Bcl-2),was markedly decreased in PC-3 and LNCaP cells after VPA administration.Mechanistically,the overexpression of C/EBPαrescued the levels of SREBP-1,FASN,ACC1,and Bcl-2,enhanced lipid accumulation,and attenuated apoptosis of VPA-treated PC-3 cells.Conversely,knockdown of C/EBPαby siRNA further decreased lipid accumulation,enhanced apoptosis,and reduced the levels of SREBP-1,FASN,ACC1,and Bcl-2.In addition,SREBP-1a and 1c enhanced the expressions of FASN and ACC1,but only SREBP-1a had a significant effect on Bcl-2 expression in VPA-treated PC-3 cells.Based on the results,we concluded that VPA significantly inhibits cell viability via decreasing lipogenesis and inducing apoptosis via the C/EBPα/SREBP-1 pathway in prostate cancer cells.Therefore,VPA that targets lipid metabolism and apoptosis is a promising candidate for PCa chemotherapy.Bo Pang Juanjuan Zhang Xi Zhang Jihong Yuan Yanan Shi Ling Qiao 2021Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,3:2

12Property and performance amelioration of pelagic clay from the East Pacific显示文摘To make use of the pelagic clay as polymer filling,the properties of clay sediments from the ocean investigation zone of China in the East Pacific were studied by the SSA,XRF,ICP/MAS,FTIR,XRD,SEM,DTA/TG and granularity distributing etc.,and experiments were settled to improve the whiteness and activation of the clay based on these data.Compared with land clay,pelagic clay holds many particular features,such as fine particles and incompact accumulation,worse crystallization and more defects,high activity,complex mineral and chemical components,and low whiteness etc.Processing the purified pelagic clay with acids and zinc,then baked it at different temperatures,the whiteness of clay can be increased from 23.8% to 73.1%,and the optimized conditions is:consistency of vitriol 25%,ratio of clay to water 4∶1,reaction time 4h,reaction temperature 90℃,dosage of zinc 2.0 g/L,and baking temperature 700℃.And the SSA of whited clay is increased too.Using the dry milling method to modify the pelagic clay with organic reagents,the optimized technique is KH550,concentration 1.5%,reaction time 20 min.XRD,FTIR and SEM testing indicate that the mechanism of organic activation was mainly surface absorbing and chemical combination secondly.Peiping ZHANG Shufeng LIU Xuefa SHI Huahua LU Juanjuan LIU Xiaoguo CHI 2008Global Geology2008,11,2:1
13The Arabidopsis spliceosomal protein SmEb modulates ABA responses by maintaining proper alternative splicing of HAB1显示文摘Abscisic acid(ABA)signaling is critical for seed germination and abiotic stress responses in terrestrial plants.PremRNA splicing is known to regulate ABA signaling.However,the involvement of canonical spliceosomal components in regulating ABA signaling is poorly understood.Here,we show that the spliceosome component Sm core protein SmEb plays an important role in ABA signaling.SmEb expression is up-regulated by ABA treatment,and analysis of Arabidopsis smeb mutant plants suggest that SmEb modulates the alternative splicing of the ABA signaling component HAB1 by enhancing the HAB1.1 splicing variant while repressing HAB1.2.Overexpression of HAB1.1 but not HAB1.2 rescues the ABA-hypersensitive phenotype of smeb mutants.Mutations in the transcription factor ABI3,4,or 5 also reduce the ABA hypersensitivity of smeb mutants during seed germination.Our results show that the spliceosomal component SmEb plays an important role in ABA regulation of seed germination and early seedling development.Yechun Hong Juanjuan Yao Huazhong Shi Yunjuan Chen Jian-Kang Zhu Zhen Wang 2021Stress Biology2021,1,1:1
14Analysis of COVID-19 Guideline Quality and Change of Recommendations:A Systematic Review显示文摘Background.Hundreds of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)clinical practice guidelines(CPGs)and expert consensus statements have been developed and published since the outbreak of the epidemic.However,these CPGs are of widely variable quality.So,this review is aimed at systematically evaluating the methodological and reporting qualities of COVID-19 CPGs,exploring factors that may influence their quality,and analyzing the change of recommendations in CPGs with evidence published.Methods.We searched five electronic databases and five websites from 1 January to 31 December 2020 to retrieve all COVID-19 CPGs.The assessment of the methodological and reporting qualities of CPGs was performed using the AGREE II instrument and RIGHT checklist.Recommendations and evidence used to make recommendations in the CPGs regarding some treatments for COVID-19(remdesivir,glucocorticoids,hydroxychloroquine/chloroquine,interferon,and lopinavir-ritonavir)were also systematically assessed.And the statistical inference was performed to identify factors associated with the quality of CPGs.Results.We included a total of 92 COVID-19 CPGs developed by 19 countries.Overall,the RIGHT checklist reporting rate of COVID-19 CPGs was 33.0%,and the AGREE II domain score was 30.4%.The overall methodological and reporting qualities of COVID-19 CPGs gradually improved during the year 2020.Factors associated with high methodological and reporting qualities included the evidence-based development process,management of conflicts of interest,and use of established rating systems to assess the quality of evidence and strength of recommendations.The recommendations of only seven(7.6%)CPGs were informed by a systematic review of evidence,and these seven CPGs have relatively high methodological and reporting qualities,in which six of them fully meet the Institute of Medicine(IOM)criteria of guidelines.Besides,a rapid advice CPG developed by the World Health Organization(WHO)of the seven CPGs got the highest overall scores in methodological(72.8%)and reporting qualities(83.8%).Many CPGs covered the same clinical questions(it refers to the clinical questions on the effectiveness of treatments of remdesivir,glucocorticoids,hydroxychloroquine/chloroquine,interferon,and lopinavirritonavir in COVID-19 patients)and were published by different countries or organizations.Although randomized controlled trials and systematic reviews on the effectiveness of treatments of remdesivir,glucocorticoids,hydroxychloroquine/chloroquine,interferon,and lopinavir-ritonavir for patients with COVID-19 have been published,the recommendations on those treatments still varied greatly across COVID-19 CPGs published in different countries or regions,which may suggest that the CPGs do not make sufficient use of the latest evidence.Conclusions.Both the methodological and reporting qualities of COVID-19 CPGs increased over time,but there is still room for further improvement.The lack of effective use of available evidence and management of conflicts of interest were the main reasons for the low quality of the CPGs.The use of formal rating systems for the quality of evidence and strength of recommendations may help to improve the quality of CPGs in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.During the pandemic,we suggest developing a living guideline of which recommendations are supported by a systematic review for it can facilitate the timely translation of the latest research findings to clinical practice.We also suggest that CPG developers should register the guidelines in a registration platform at the beginning for it can reduce duplication development of guidelines on the same clinical question,increase the transparency of the development process,and promote cooperation among guideline developers all over the world.Since the International Practice Guideline Registry Platform has been created,developers could register guidelines prospectively and internationally on this platform.Siya Zhao Shuya Lu Shouyuan Wu Zijun Wang Qiangqiang Guo Qianling Shi Hairong Zhang Juanjuan Zhang Hui Liu Yunlan Liu Xianzhuo Zhang Ling Wang Mengjuan Ren Ping Wang Hui Lan Qi Zhou Yajia Sun Jin Cao Qinyuan Li Janne Estill Joseph LMathew Hyeong Sik Ahn Myeong Soo Lee Xiaohui Wang Chenyan Zhou Yaolong Chen 2021Health Data Science2021,,1:1

20Investigation and evaluation of randomized controlled trials for interventions involving artificial intelligence显示文摘Objective Complete and transparent reporting is of critical importance for randomized controlled trials(RCTs).The present study aimed to determine the reporting quality and methodological quality of RCTs for interventions involving artificial intelligence(AI)and their protocols.Methods We searched MEDLINE(via PubMed),Embase,Web of Science,CBMdisc,Wanfang Data,and CNKI from January 1,2016,to November 11,2020,to collect RCTs involving AI.We also extracted the protocol of each included RCT if it could be obtained.CONSORT-AI(Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials-Artificial Intelligence)statement and Cochrane Collaboration’s tool for assessing risk of bias(ROB)were used to evaluate the reporting quality and methodological quality,respectively,and SPIRIT-AI(The Standard Protocol Items:Recommendations for Interventional Trials-Artificial Intelligence)statement was used to evaluate the reporting quality of the protocols.The associations of the reporting rate of CONSORT-AI with the publication year,journal’s impact factor(IF),number of authors,sample size,and first author’s country were analyzed univariately using Pearson’s chi-squared test,or Fisher’s exact test if the expected values in any of the cells were below 5.The compliance of the retrieved protocols to SPIRIT-AI was presented descriptively.Results Overall,29 RCTs and three protocols were considered eligible.The CONSORT-AI items“title and abstract”and“interpretation of results”were reported by all RCTs,with the items with the lowest reporting rates being“funding”(0),“implementation”(3.5%),and“harms”(3.5%).The risk of bias was high in 13(44.8%)RCTs and not clear in 15(51.7%)RCTs.Only one RCT(3.5%)had a low risk of bias.The compliance was not significantly different in terms of the publication year,journal’s IF,number of authors,sample size,or first author’s country.Ten of the 35 SPIRIT-AI items(funding,participant timeline,allocation concealment mechanism,implementation,data management,auditing,declaration of interests,access to data,informed consent materials and biological specimens)were not reported by any of the three protocols.Conclusions The reporting and methodological quality of RCTs involving AI need to be improved.Because of the limited availability of protocols,their quality could not be fully judged.Following the CONSORT-AI and SPIRIT-AI statements and with appropriate guidance on the risk of bias when designing and reporting AI-related RCTs can promote standardization and transparency.Jianjian Wang Shouyuan Wu Qiangqiang Guo Hui Lan Estill Janne Ling Wang Juanjuan Zhang Qi Wang Yang Song Nan Yang Xufei Luo Qi Zhou Qianling Shi Xuan Yu Yanfang Ma Joseph LMathew Hyeong Sik Ahn Myeong Soo Lee Yaolong Chen 2021Intelligent Medicine2021,1,2:0
