1Collagen-binding basic fibroblast growth factor improves functional remodeling of scarred endometrium in uterine infertile women: a pilot study显示文摘Intrauterine adhesion(IUA) is a common cause of uterine infertility and one of the most severe clinical features is endometrial fibrosis namely endometrial scarring for which there are few cures currently. Blocked angiogenesis is the main pathological change in the scarred endometrium. The fibroblast growth factor 2(b FGF), a member of FGF family, is usually applied to promote healing of refractory ulcer and contributes to angiogenesis of tissues. In this study, the sustained-release system of b FGF100 μg was administrated around scarred endometrium guiding by ultrasound every 4 weeks in 18 patients(2–4 times). Results showed that after treatment, the menstrual blood volume, endometrial thickness and the scarred endometrial area were improved.Histological study showed blood vessel density increased obviously. Three patients(3/18) achieved pregnancy over 20 gestational weeks. 2Friction of low-dimensional nanomaterial systems显示文摘When material dimensions are reduced to the nanoscale,exceptional physical mechanics properties can be obtained that differ significantly from the corresponding bulk materials.Here we review the physical mechanics of the friction of low‐dimensional nanomaterials,including zero‐dimensional nanoparticles,one‐dimensional multiwalled nanotubes and nanowires,and two‐dimensional nanomaterials-such as graphene,hexagonal boron nitride(h‐BN),and transition‐metal dichalcogenides-as well as topological insulators.Nanoparticles between solid surfaces can serve as rolling and sliding lubrication,while the interlayer friction of multiwalled nanotubes can be ultralow or significantly high and sensitive to interwall spacing and chirality matching,as well as the tube materials.The interwall friction can be several orders of magnitude higher in binary polarized h‐BN tubes than in carbon nanotubes mainly because of wall buckling.Furthermore,current extensive studies on two‐dimensional nanomaterials are comprehensively reviewed herein.In contrast to their bulk materials that serve as traditional dry lubricants(e.g.,graphite,bulk h‐BN,and MoS_(2)),large‐area high‐quality monolayered two‐dimensional nanomaterials can serve as single‐atom‐thick coatings that minimize friction and wear.In addition,by appropriately tuning the surface properties,these materials have shown great promise for creating energy‐efficient self‐powered electro‐opto‐magneto‐mechanical nanosystems.State‐of‐the‐art experimental and theoretical methods to characterize friction in nanomaterials are also introduced.Wanlin GUO Jun YIN Hu QIU Yufeng GUO Hongrong WU Minmin XUE 2014Friction2014,2,3:15
3A novel synthesis strategy to improve cycle stability of LiNio.8Mno.1Co0.1O2 at high cut-off voltages through core-shell structuring显示文摘Nickel-rich cathode materials have attracted considerable interest because of their high specific capacities,voltage ranges,and low cost.However,serious capacity attenuation and poor rate performance limit their application.This study proposes a novel strategy to improve the cycle stability of the nickel-rich LiNi0.sCo0.1Mn0.1O2(NCM811)layer material by designing core-shell LiNio.sCoo.1 Mno.102(CS-NCM811).CS-NCM811 is designed by the characteristic reaction between dimethylglyoxime(C4H8N2O2)and nickel ion to form Ni(C4H7N2O2)2-The CS-NCM811 is characterized with high nickel content in its core and high manganese content on its surface,leading to a high capacity and excellent cycle stability.The capacity retention of CS-NCM811 was 72.8%,much higher than that of NCM811(47.1%)after 500 cycles at a rate of 5 C.Not only is this method a no vel strategy to desig n high capacity cathode materials but also provides some new in sights into the cycle stability of nickel-rich layered cathode materials.Kang Wu Qi Li Rongbin Dang Xin Deng Minmin Chen Yu Lin Lee Xiaoling Xiao Zhongbo Hu 2019Nano Research2019,12,10:12
4Urban expansion in China and its effect on cultivated land before and after initiating'Reform and Open Policy'显示文摘Urbanization in China has expanded at an unprecedented speed since the declaration of 'Reform and Open Policy'and presented many challenges. Unbalanced regional development, appearance of super megacities and concomitant problems,and conflicts between urbanization and cultivated land protection are three critical problems that Chinese urbanization has to face. To develop new plans for foreseeable future urbanization in China, it is critical to understand the evolving history of cities across China. This study maps urban expansion of 60 typical Chinese cities based on large amount of remote sensing data and the labor-intensive image interpretation method, in order to understand the history of urban expansion from the 1970 s to 2013.Results showed that area of cities expanded 5.23 times compared to their area in the 1970 s. Urban expansion in China accelerated three times(1988–1996, 1999–2006, and 2009–2011) and decelerated three times(1997–1998, 2007–2008, and 2012–2013) over the 40 years. The urban area of South China expanded most significantly 9.42 times, while the urban area in Northeast China expanded only 2.37 times. The disparity among different administrative ranks of cities was even greater than(3.81 times) the differences among different regions. Super megacities have been continuously expanding at a fast rate(8.60-fold), and have not shown obvious signs of slowing down. The proportion of cultivated land among the land sources for urban expansion decreased to a small extent in the 1990 s, but cultivated land continues to be the major land source for urban expansion. 5MXene-coated silk-derived carbon cloth toward flexible electrode for supercapacitor application显示文摘Flexible supercapacitors are promising energy storage devices in wearable smart electronics. Exploring cost-efficient electrodes with high capacitance would promote the wide-scale application of such capacitors. Herein, in order to explore a methodology for preparing low cost, flexible, tough, and up-scalable supercapacitor electrodes, silk textile is directly carbonized to make a conductive free-standing textile substrate. Through mildly baking the surfactant-free Ti_3C_2T_x flakes suspension loaded on the carbonized silk cloth, a uniform and adhesive coating consisting of nanometer-thick Ti_3C_2T_x flakes is well established on the conductive fabric support, forming a MXene-coated flexible textile electrode. The fabricated electrode exhibits a high areal capacitance of 362 m F/cm^2 with excellent cyclability and flexibility. Moreover,capacitance changes neglegibly under the bending deformation mode. 6The heterogeneity of islet autoantibodies and the progression of islet failure in type 1 diabetic patients显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. 8Extraction of Basic Trends of Urban Expansion in China over Past 40 Years from Satellite Images显示文摘If urban sprawl is to be avoided in China in the next ten years, it is not only crucial to understand the overall history, current status, and future trends of urban expansion there, but also these differences, and this is presently lacking. In this study, remotely sensed images with approximately 30 m spatial resolution were used to quantitatively assess the spatial and temporal patterns of urban expansion of 60 Chinese cities(1973–2013). Urban-expansion-process curves of the cities studied were drawn using annual expansion area as an indicator. Curve similarity analysis generated four basic process modes of urban expansion in China. These included cities that: 1) peaked around 2004 and then decelerated; 2) peaked around 2010 and then decelerated; 3) showed sustained acceleration, and 4) showed continued deceleration. Four basic process modes represented cities under different levels of development stage. Geographic location was found to be the most related characteristic to urban expansion process. Regional development policies at the national level in each region also showed highly temporal consistency with fluctuation characteristics of urban expansion process. Urban characteristic such as population size and administrative level were not found to be significantly related to urban expansion-process modes. 14Microstructure and mechanical properties of h-BN/Yb_4Si_2O_7N_2 composites显示文摘A series of h-BN based composites with Yb_4Si_2O_7N_2 as a secondary phase were successfully synthesized by an in situ reaction hot pressing method. It was found that the relative density and room-temperature mechanical properties monotonically increased with increasing the content of Yb_4Si_2O_7N_2 from 20 to 50 vol%. When 50 vol% Yb_4Si_2O_7N_2 was introduced, the relative density of the composite reached 98.75%, and its flexural strength, compressive strength, fracture toughness, and hardness reached 338±10 MPa, 803±49 MPa, 2.06±0.06 MPa·m1/2, and 2.69±0.10 GPa, respectively. The strengthening effect of Yb_4Si_2O_7N_2 was mainly attributed to its high modulus and high hardness. Fine microstructure was also advantageous to strength and could lead to more tortuous crack propagation paths and then improve the fracture toughness of the composites simultaneously. 15Graphene binding on black phosphorus enables high on/off ratios and mobility显示文摘Graphene is one of the most promising candidates for integrated circuits due to its robustness against short-channel effects,inherent high carrier mobility and desired gapless nature for Ohmic contact,but it is difficult to achieve satisfactory on/off ratios even at the expense of its carrier mobility,limiting its device applications.Here,we present a strategy to realize high back-gate switching ratios in a graphene monolayer with well-maintained high mobility by forming a vertical heterostructure with a black phosphorus multi-layer.By local current annealing,strain is introduced within an established area of the graphene,which forms a reflective interface with the rest of the strain-free area and thus generates a robust off-state via local current depletion.Applying a positive back-gate voltage to the heterostructure can keep the black phosphorus insulating,while a negative back-gate voltage changes the black phosphorus to be conductive because of hole accumulation.Then,a parallel channel is activated within the strain-free graphene area by edge-contacted electrodes,thereby largely inheriting the intrinsic carrier mobility of graphene in the on-state.As a result,the device can provide an on/off voltage ratio of>10^(3)as well as a mobility of∼8000 cm^(2)V^(−1)s^(−1)at room temperature,meeting the low-power criterion suggested by the International Roadmap for Devices and Systems.Fanrong Lin Zhonghan Cao Feiping Xiao Jiawei Liu Jiabin Qiao Minmin Xue Zhili Hu Ying Liu Huan Lu Zhuhua Zhang Jens Martin Qingjun Tong Wanlin Guo Yanpeng Liu 2024National Science Review2024,11,2:0

17Leaf Morphology Genes SRL1 and RENL1 Co-Regulate Cellulose Synthesis and Affect Rice Drought Tolerance显示文摘The morphological development of rice(Oryza sativa L.)leaves is closely related to plant architecture,physiological activities,and resistance.However,it is unclear whether there is a co-regulatory relationship between the morphological development of leaves and adaptation to drought environment.In this study,a drought-sensitive,roll-enhanced,and narrow-leaf mutant(renl1)was induced from a semi-rolled leaf mutant(srl1)by ethyl methane sulfonate(EMS),which was obtained from Nipponbare(NPB)through EMS.Map-based cloning and functional validation showed that RENL1 encodes a cellulose synthase,allelic to NRL1/OsCLSD4.The RENL1 mutation resulted in reduced vascular bundles,vesicular cells,cellulose,and hemicellulose contents in cell walls,diminishing the water-holding capacity of leaves.In addition,the root system of the renl1 mutant was poorly developed and its ability to scavenge reactive oxygen species(ROS)was decreased,leading to an increase in ROS after drought stress.Meanwhile,genetic results showed that RENL1 and SRL1 synergistically regulated cell wall components.Our results revealed a theoretical basis for further elucidating the molecular regulation mechanism of cellulose on rice drought tolerance,and provided a new genetic resource for enhancing the synergistic regulation network of plant type and stress resistance,thereby realizing simultaneous improvement of multiple traits in rice.LIU Dan ZHAO Huibo WANG Zi’an XU Jing LIU Yiting WANG Jiajia CHEN Minmin LIU Xiong ZHANG Zhihai CEN Jiangsu ZHU Li HU Jiang REN Deyong GAO Zhenyu DONG Guojun ZHANG Qiang SHEN Lan LI Qing QIAN Qian HU Songping ZHANG Guangheng 2024Rice science2024,31,1:0

19Synergistic Interdecadal Evolution of Precipitation over Eastern China and the Pacific Decadal Oscillation during 1951-2015显示文摘By using the multi-taper method(MTM)of singular value decomposition(SVD),this study investigates the interdecadal evolution(10-to 30-year cycle)of precipitation over eastern China from 1951 to 2015 and its relationship with the North Pacific sea surface temperature(SST).Two significant interdecadal signals,one with an 11-year cycle and the other with a 23-year cycle,are identified in both the precipitation and SST fields.Results show that the North Pacific SST forcing modulates the precipitation distribution over China through the effects of the Pacific Decadal Oscillation(PDO)-related anomalous Aleutian low on the western Pacific subtropical high(WPSH)and Mongolia high(MH).During the development stage of the PDO cold phase associated with the 11-year cycle,a weakened WPSH and MH increased the precipitation over the Yangtze River Basin,whereas an intensified WPSH and MH caused the enhanced rain band to move northward to North China during the decay stage.During the development stage of the PDO cold phase associated with the 23-year cycle,a weakened WPSH and MH increased the precipitation over North China,whereas an intensified WPSH and the weakened MH increased the precipitation over South China during the decay stage.The 11-year and 23-year variabilities contribute differently to the precipitation variations in the different regions of China,as seen in the 1998flooding case.The 11-year cycle mainly accounts for precipitation increases over the Yangtze River Basin,while the 23-year cycle is responsible for the precipitation increase over Northeast China.These results have important implications for understanding how the PDO modulates the precipitation distribution over China,helping to improve interdecadal climate prediction.Minmin WU Rong-Hua ZHANG Junya HU Hai ZHI 2024Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2024,41,1:0
20High expression of BCL6 inhibits the differentiation and development of hematopoietic stem cells and affects the growth and development of chickens显示文摘Background:B-cell CLL/lymphoma 6(BCL6)is a transcriptional master regulator that represses more than 1200 potential target genes.Our previous study showed that a decline in blood production in runting and stunting syndrome(RSS)affected sex-linked dwarf(SLD)chickens compared to SLD chickens.However,the association between BCL6 gene and hematopoietic function remains unknown in chickens.Methods:In this study,we used RSS affected SLD(RSS-SLD)chickens,SLD chickens and normal chickens as research object and overexpression of BCL6 in hematopoietic stem cells(HSCs),to investigate the effect of the BCL6 on differentiation and development of HSCs.Results:The results showed that comparison of RSS-SLD chickens with SLD chickens,the BCL6 was highly expressed in RSS-SLD chickens bone marrow.The bone marrow of RSS-SLD chickens was exhausted and red bone marrow was largely replaced by yellow bone marrow,bone density was reduced,and the levels of immature erythrocytes in peripheral blood were increased.At the same time,the hematopoietic function of HSCs decreased in RSS-SLD chickens,which was manifested by a decrease in the hematopoietic growth factors(HGFs)EPO,SCF,TPO,and IL-3,as well as hemoglobinα1 and hemoglobinβexpression.Moreover,mitochondrial function in the HSCs of RSS-SLD chickens was damaged,including an increase in ROS production,decrease in ATP concentration,and decrease in mitochondrial membrane potential(ΔΨm).The same results were also observed in SLD chickens compared with normal chickens;however,the symptoms were more serious in RSS-SLD chickens.Additionally,after overexpression of the BCL6 in primary HSCs,the secretion of HGFs(EPO,SCF,TPO and IL-3)was inhibited and the expression of hemoglobinα1 and hemoglobinβwas decreased.However,cell proliferation was accelerated,apoptosis was inhibited,and the HSCs entered a cancerous state.The function of mitochondria was also abnormal,ROS production was decreased,and ATP concentration andΔΨm were increased,which was related to the inhibition of apoptosis of stem cells.Conclusions:Taken together,we conclude that the high expression of BCL6 inhibits the differentiation and development of HSCs by affecting mitochondrial function,resulting in impaired growth and development of chickens.Moreover,the abnormal expression of BCL6 might be a cause of the clinical manifestations of chicken comb,pale skin,stunted growth and development,and the tendency to appear RSS in SLD chickens.Hongmei Li Bowen Hu Shang Hu Wen Luo Donglei Sun Minmin Yang Zhiying Liao Haohui Wei Changbin Zhao Dajian Li Meiqing Shi Qingbin Luo Dexiang Zhang Qinghua Nie Xiquan Zhang 2021Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2021,12,3:0
