2Dynamic Modeling and Simulation of Multi-body Systems Using the Udwadia-Kalaba Theory显示文摘Laboratory experiments were conducted for falling U-chain,but explicit analytic form of the general equations of motion was not presented.Several modeling methods were developed for fish robots,however they just focused on the whole fish's locomotion which does little favor to understand the detailed swimming behavior of fish.Udwadia-Kalaba theory is used to model these two multi-body systems and obtain explicit analytic equations of motion.For falling U-chain,the mass matrix is non-singular.Second-order constraints are used to get the constraint force and equations of motion and the numerical simulation is conducted.Simulation results show that the chain tip falls faster than the freely falling body.For fish robot,two-joint Carangiform fish robot is focused on.Quasi-steady wing theory is used to approximately calculate fluid lift force acting on the caudal fin.Based on the obtained explicit analytic equations of motion(the mass matrix is singular),propulsive characteristics of each part of the fish robot are obtained.Through these two cases of U chain and fish robot,how to use Udwadia-Kalaba equation to obtain the dynamical model is shown and the modeling methodology for multi-body systems is presented.It is also shown that Udwadia-Kalaba theory is applicable to systems whether or not their mass matrices are singular.In the whole process of applying Udwadia-Kalaba equation,Lagrangian multipliers and quasi-coordinates are not used.Udwadia-Kalaba theory is creatively applied to dynamical modeling of falling U-chain and fish robot problems and explicit analytic equations of motion are obtained.ZHAO Han ZHEN Shengchao CHEN Ye-Hwa 2013Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2013,26,5:22

6Response spectra for nuclear structures on rock sites considering the near-fault directivity effect显示文摘Near-fault ground motions, potentially with large amplitude and typical velocity pulses, may signifi cantly impact the performance of a wide range of structures.The current study is aimed at evaluating the safety implications of the near-fault effect on nuclear power plant facilities designed according to the Chinese code.To this end, a set of near-fault ground motions at rock sites with typical forward-directivity effect is examined with special emphasis on several key parameters and response spectra.Spectral comparison of the selected records with the Chinese and other code design spectra was conducted.The bi-normalized response spectra in terms of different corner periods are utilized to derive nuclear design spectra.It is concluded that nuclear design spectra on rock sites derived from typical rupture directivity records are significantly influenced both by the earthquake magnitude and the rupture distance.The nuclear design spectra specified in the code needs to be adjusted to reflect the near-fault directivity effect of large earthquakes.Xu Longjun Yang Shengchao Xie Lili 2010Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2010,9,3:9
7miR-30a-5p promotes glomerular podocyte apoptosis via DNMT1-mediated hypermethylation under hyperhomocysteinemia显示文摘Abnormal elevation of homocysteine(Hcy)level is closely related to the development and progression of chronic kidney disease(CKD),with the molecular mech2anisms that are not fully elucidated.Given the demonstration that miR-30a-5p is specifically expressed in glomerular podocytes,in the present study we aimed to investigate the role and potential underlying mechanism of miR-30a-5p in glomerular podocyte apoptosis induced by Hcy.We found that elevated Hcy downregulates miR-30a-5p expression in the Cbs^(+/-)-mice and Hcy-treated podocytes,and miR-30a-5p directly targets the 3′-untranslated region(3′-UTR)of the forkhead box A1(FOXA1)and overexpression of miR-30a-5p inhibits FOXA1 expression.By nMS-PCR and MassARRAY quantitative methylation analysis,we showed the increased DNA methylation level of miR-30a-5p promoter both in vivo and in vitro.Meanwhile,dual-luciferase reporter assay showed that the region between--1400 and--921 bp of miR-30a-5p promoter is a possible regulatory element for its transcription.Mechanistic studies indicated that DNA methyltransferase enzyme 1(DNMT1)is the key regulator of miR-30a-5p,which in turn enhances miR-30a-5p promoter methylation level and thereby inhibits its expression.Taken together,our results revealed that epigenetic modification of miR-30a-5p is involved in glomerular podocyte injury induced by Hcy,providing a diagnostic marker candidate and novel therapeutic target in CKD induced by Hcy.Ning Ding Lin Xie Fei Ma Shengchao Ma Jiantuan Xiong Guanjun Lu Huiping Zhang Yideng Jiang 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,1:4
8Enhanced selective catalytic reduction of NO with NH3 via porous micro-spherical aggregates of Mn–Ce–Fe–Ti mixed oxide nanoparticles显示文摘We rationally designed a high performance denitration(De-NOx) catalyst based on a micrometer-sized spherical Mn–Ce–Fe–Ti(CP-SD)catalyst for selective catalytic reduction(SCR). This was prepared by a co-precipitation and spray drying(CP-SD) method. The catalyst was systematically characterized, and its morphological structure and surface properties were identified. Compare with conventional Mn–Ce–Fe–Ti(CP) catalysts, the Mn–Ce–Fe–Ti(CP-SD) catalyst had superior surface-adsorbed oxygen leading to enhanced 'fast NH3-SCR' reaction. The asobtained Mn–Ce–Fe–Ti(CP-SD) catalyst offered excellent NO conversion and N2 selectivity of 100.0% and 84.8% at 250℃, respectively, with a gas hourly space velocity(GHSV) of 40,000 h-1. The porous micro-spherical structure provides a larger surface area and more active sites to adsorb and activate the reaction gases. In addition, the uniform distribution and strong interaction of manganese, iron, cerium, and titanium oxide species improved H2O and SO2 resistance. 9RNA-seq analysis of Paris polyphylla var.yunnanensis roots identified candidate genes for saponin synthesis显示文摘Paris polyphylla Smith var.yunnanensis(Franch.) Hand.-Mazz.is a rhizomatous,herbaceous,perennial plant that has been used for more than a thousand years in traditional Chinese medicine.It is facing extinction due to overharvesting.Steroids are the major therapeutic components in Paris roots,the commercial value of which increases with age.To date,no genomic data on the species have been available.In this study,transcriptome analysis of an 8-year-old root and a 4-year-old root provided insight into the metabolic pathways that generate the steroids.Using Illumina sequencing technology,we generated a high-quality sequence and demonstrated de novo assembly and annotation of genes in the absence of prior genome information.Approximately 87,577 unique sequences,with an average length of 614 bases,were obtained from the root cells.Using bioinformatics methods,we annotated approximately 65.51% of the unique sequences by conducting a similarity search with known genes in the National Center for Biotechnology Information's non-redundant database.The unique transcripts were functionally classified using the Gene Ontology hierarchy and the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes database.Of 3082 genes that were identified as significantly differentially expressed between roots of different ages,1518(49.25%) were upregulated and 1564(50.75%) were downregulated in the older root.Metabolic pathway analysis predicted that 25 unigenes were responsible for the biosynthesis of the saponins steroids.These data represent a valuable resource for future genomic studies on this endangered species and will be valuable for efforts to genetically engineer P.polyphylla and facilitate saponin-rich plant development.Tao Liu Xiaoxian Li Shiqing Xie Ling Wang Shengchao Yang 2016Plant Diversity2016,38,3:4
10The adaptive transition of glioblastoma stem cells and its implications on treatments显示文摘Glioblastoma is the most malignant tumor occurring in the human central nervous system with overall median survival time<14.6 months.Current treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy cannot reach an optimal remission since tumor resistance to therapy remains a challenge.Glioblastoma stem cells are considered to be responsible for tumor resistance in treating glioblastoma.Previous studies reported two subtypes,proneural and mesenchymal,of glioblastoma stem cells manifesting different sensitivity to radiotherapy or chemotherapy.Mesenchymal glioblastoma stem cells,as well as tumor cells generate from which,showed resistance to radiochemotherapies.Besides,two metabolic patterns,glutamine or glucose dependent,of mesenchymal glioblastoma stem cells also manifested different sensitivity to radiochemotherapies.Glutamine dependent mesenchymal glioblastoma stem cells are more sensitive to radiotherapy than glucose-dependent ones.Therefore,the transition between proneural and mesenchymal subtypes,or between glutamine-dependent and glucose-dependent,might lead to tumor resistance to radiochemotherapies.Moreover,neural stem cells were also hypothesized to participate in glioblastoma stem cells mediated tumor resistance to radiochemotherapies.In this review,we summarized the basic characteristics,adaptive transition and implications of glioblastoma stem cells in glioblastoma therapy.Zeyu Wang Hao Zhang Shengchao Xu Zhixiong Liu Quan Cheng 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,4:3
11Adaptive Robust Control for a Lower Limbs Rehabilitation Robot Running Under Passive Training Mode显示文摘This paper focuses on the problem of the adaptive robust control of a lower limbs rehabilitation robot(LLRR) that is a nonlinear system running under passive training mode. In reality, uncertainties including modeling error, initial condition deviation, friction force and other unknown external disturbances always exist in a LLRR system. So, it is necessary to consider the uncertainties in the unilateral man-machine dynamical model of the LLRR we described. In the dynamical model, uncertainties are(possibly fast) time-varying and bounded. However, the bounds are unknown. Based on the dynamical model, we design an adaptive robust control with an adaptive law that is leakagetype based and on the framework of Udwadia-Kalaba theory to compensate for the uncertainties and to realize tracking control of the LLRR. 12Petrogenesis and Geodynamic Implications of Late Jurassic Diorite Porphyry in the Neoproterozoic Ophiolitic Mélange of NE Jiangxi (South China)显示文摘Mesozoic magmatism is widespread in the eastern South China Block and has a close genetic relationship with intensive polymetallic mineralization. However, proper tectonic driver remains elusive to reconcile the broad intracontinental magmatic province. This study presents integrated zircon U-Pb dating, Hf isotopes and whole-rock geochemistry of the Xiwan dioritic porphyry in the NE Jiangxi ophiolitic mélange. Zircon U-Pb dating by SIMS and LA-ICP-MS methods yielded an emplacement age of ~160 Ma for the Xiwan diorite, confirming its inclusion into the Mesozoic magmatic province in SE China, instead of a component of the Neoproterozoic ophiolitic mélange genetically. The dioritic rocks have low Si02(58.08 wt%-59.15 wt%), and high Na_2 O(5.00 wt%-5.21 wt%) and MgO(4.60 wt%-5.24 wt%) contents with low TFeO/MgO ratios(1.02-1.09). They show an adakitic geochemical affinity but exhibit relatively low Sr/Y ratios(24.8-31.1) and high Y contents(14.6-18.3 ppm) compared to the Dexing adakitic porphyries. In addition, the Xiwan diorites have moderately evolved zircon Hf isotopic compositions(ε_(Hf)(t)=-6.1--0.1; T_(DM2)=1597-1219 Ma). These elemental and isotopic signatures suggest that the Xiwan diorite formed through partial melting of a remnant arc lower crust(i.e., early Neoproterozoic mafic arc-related rocks) in response to the underplating of coeval mafic magmas. In conjunction with the temporal-spatial distribution and complex geochemical characteristics of the Mesozoic magmatism, our case study attests to the feasibility of a flat-slab subduction model in developing the broad intracontinental magmatic province in SE China. 13Metallogenetic model of Jiaodong-type gold deposits,eastern China显示文摘The genesis of giant gold provinces is an international scientific frontier,in which the source of a huge amount of gold and the drive for mineralization are key challenges.The mineralization intensity of the Jiaodong gold province in eastern China is a rare occasion in the world,because it owns gold reserves of~5500 tons within an area of less than 10,000 km^(2).The Jiaodong gold province formed in the superimposed domain of diverse tectonic regimes in an intracontinental setting.Paleoproterozoic regional peak metamorphism and Triassic continental collision are followed by the tectonic transition and gold mineralization at ca.120 Ma with time intervals of 1.9 billion years and about 100 million years,respectively.The Jiaodong gold deposits are different from orogenic and intrusion-related gold deposits in terms of the tectonic background,types of host rocks,and oreforming mechanism.These gold deposits show close spatial-temporal and genetic relationships to mafic igneous rocks,implying the derivation of ore-forming fluids from the metasomatic mantle domains.Mafic dykes in Jiaodong have negativeε_(Hf)(t)values of-29.9 to-9.1,Os content of 0.002-0.16 ppb,heavyδ^(18)O up to 8.23‰,and high initial^(187)Os/^(188)Os ratios of 0.1352-0.8858.These indicate that the lithospheric mantle was metasomatized by ancient crust-derived components.The lithospheric mantle in the western Jiaodong shows generally more enriched isotope features than that in the eastern part,which is explained to be an important reason for its huge gold resources.The mafic dykes show lighter Mg isotope characteristics(averageδ^(26)Mg of-0.33‰,n=50)and high Ca O content(overall greater than 6.5 wt%),indicating that the lithospheric mantle would also record the metasomatism by the carbonate rocks from the subducting oceanic slab.Under the background of the rollback of the subducting paleo-Pacific slab and the destruction of the North China Craton,partial melting of the lower crust would produce granitic magmas that led to the enrichment of gold in the residual crust.The syn-mineralization asthenosphere upwelling would promote the recycling of the lower crust and the partial melting of the metasomatic mantle domains.Basic magmas,produced by the partial melting,and the mantle itself would degas to form ore fluids.The ore fluids would further leach gold in the lower crust to increase its fertility.The auriferous fluids were transported to the middle to upper crust along the detachment and strike-slip faults.Water-rock interaction and fluid immiscibility,which occurred in and above the ductile-brittle transition zone to induce gold precipitation,formed the Jiaodong gold deposits.Given the unique geological features and genetic model of the Jiaodong gold deposits,they can be defined as“Jiaodong-type”gold deposits.Jun DENG Qingfei WANG Liang ZHANG Shengchao XUE Xuefei LIU Lin YANG Liqiang YANG Kunfeng QIU Yayun LIANG 2023Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,10:2

15Overwhelming electrochemical oxygen reduction reaction of zinc-nitrogen-carbon from biomass resource chitosan via a facile carbon bath method显示文摘Developing high efficiency and low cost electrocatalysts is critical for the enhancement of oxygen reduction reaction(ORR),which is the fundamental for the development and commercialization of renewable energy conversion technology.Herein,zinc-nitrogen-carbon(Zn-N-C)was prepared by using biomass resource chitosan via a facile carbon bath method.The obtained Zn-N-C delivered a high specific surface area(794.7 cm^2/g)together with pore volume(0.49 cm^3/g).During the electrochemical evaluation of oxygen reduction reaction(ORR),Zn-N-C displayed high activity for ORR with an onset pote ntial E0=0.96 VRHE and a half wave potential E1/2=0.86 VRHE,which were more positive than those of the comme rcial 20 wt%Pt/C benchmark catalyst(E0=0.96 VRHE and E1/2=0.81 VRHE).In addition,the ZnN-C catalyst also had a better stability and methanol tolerance than those of the Pt/C catalyst.Libing Hu Feng Yu Fu Wang Shengchao Yang Banghua Peng Long Chen Gang Wang Juan Hou Bin Dai Zhi-Qun Tian 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,5:2
16A New Leaf Litter Toad of Leptobrachella Smith, 1925(Anura, Megophryidae) from Sichuan Province, China with Supplementary Description of L. oshanensis显示文摘A new species of the Asian leaf litter toad genus Leptobrachella is described from Sichuan Province, China. Molecular phylogenetic analyses based on mitochondrial and nuclear gene sequences clustered the new species as an independent clade nested into L. oshanensis species group. The new species could be distinguished from its congeners by a combination of following characters: body size moderate(25.8–32.6 mm in male, 33.7–34.1 mm in female);distinct black spots present on flanks;toes rudimentary webbed, with narrow lateral fringes, dermal ridges under toes interrupted at articulations;ventral belly cream white with variable brown specking;skin on dorsum relatively smooth with fine tiny granules or short ridges;iris copper above, silver bellow;greyish black patches on posterior thigh absent or small;spines on surface of chest absent in male during breeding season;nasals entirely or partially separated from sphenethmoid in male;dorsal surface of tadpoles semitransparent light brown, spots on tail absent, keratodont row formula I: 3+3(2+2)/2+2: I;calls simple, call series basically consist of repeated long calls, at dominant frequency(4831.9 ± 155.8) Hz and call duration(544.5 ± 146.8) ms. 19Extracellular-superoxide dismutase DNA methylation promotes oxidative stress in homocysteine-induced atherosclerosis显示文摘In the present study,we investigate the effect of homocysteine(Hcy)on extracellular-superoxide dismutase(ECSOD)DNA methylation in the aorta of mice,and explore the underlying mechanism in macrophages,trying to identify the key targets of Hcy-induced EC-SOD methylation changes.ApoE--mice are fed different diets for 15 weeks,EC-SODand DNAmethyltransferase1(DNMT1)expression levels aredetected byRT-PCRandwestern blot analysis.EC-SOD methylation levels are assessed by ntMS-PCR.After EC-SOD overexpression or knockdown in macrophages,following the transfection of macrophages with pEGFP-N1-DNMT1,the methylation levels of ECSOD are detected.Our data show that the concentrations of Hcy and the area of atherogenic lesions are significantly increased in ApoE--mice fed with a high-methionine diet,and have a positive correlation with the levels of superoxide anions,which indicates that Hcy-activated superoxide anions enhance the development of atherogenic lesions.EC-SOD expression is suppressed by Hcy,and the content of superoxide anion is increased when EC-SOD is silenced by RNAi in macrophages,suggesting that EC-SOD plays a major part in oxidative stress induced by Hcy.Furthermore,the promoter activity of EC-SOD is increased following transfection with the-1/-110o fragment,and EC-SOD methylation level is significantly suppressed by Hcy,and more significantly decreased upon DNMT1 overexpression.In conclusion,Hcy may alter the DNA methylation status and DNMT1 acts as the essential enzyme in the methyl transfer process to disturb the status of EC-SOD DNA methylation,leading to decreased expression of Ec-sODandincreasedoxidativestressandatherosclerosis.Shengchao Ma Guanjun Lu Qing Zhang Ning Ding Yuzhen Jie Hui Zhang Lingbo Xu Lin Xie Xiaoling Yang Huiping Zhang Yideng Jiang 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,9:1
20Multiple Data Sources Reveal a New Asian Leaf Litter Toad of Leptobrachella Smith, 1925 (Anura, Megophryidae) from Southwestern China显示文摘A new species of Leptobrachella is described from Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality,China.Molecular phylogenetic analyses based on mitochondrial and nuclear gene sequences indicated that the new species is genetically divergent from its congeners.It could be identified from its congeners by a combination of followings characters:body size of male 29.1-34.1 mm(n=14),female 34.1-34.9 mm(n=4);dorsal skin rough with large tubercles in size of humeral glands,without conical spines;fringes on toes narrow;ventral body basically floral white with deep grey pigments all over;dorsal body deep greyish brown with smoky black markings;iris gold above,gradually silver bellow;tibia-tarsal articulation reaches the level of the middle of the eye when leg being stretched forward;the main call type with dominant frequency4.08 ± 0.16 kHz(14.1-14.9℃),call duration 170.35± 15.19ms,the number of pulses for the first note in a call 3.50±0.89,and the number of pulses for the second note in a call 5.08±0.77.Shengchao SHI Tuo SHEN Xin WANG Jianping JIANG Bin WANG 2023Asian Herpetological Research2023,14,1:1
