| 1 | XS0601 REDUCES THE INCIDENCE OF RESTENOSIS: A PROSPECTIVE STUDY OF 335 PATIENTS UNDERGOING PERCUTANEOUS CORONARY INTERVENTION IN CHINA显示文摘Background XS0601, consisting of active ingredients (Chuangxiongol and paeoniflorin), has been shown to inhibit arterial neointimal hyperplasia in animal models and in preliminary human studies. The objective of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of XS0601 in preventing restenosis following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods A multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial was conducted. A total of 335 patients were randomized into treatment with the oral administration of XS0601, or a placebo for 6 months after successful PCI. Angiographic follow-up was scheduled at 6 months, and clinical follow-ups performed at 1, 3 and 6 months after PCI. The primary end point was angiographic restenosis. The secondary end points were the combined incidence of death, target lesion nonfatal myocardial infarction, repeat angioplasty, and coronary artery bypass graft surgery. Results A total of 308 patients (91.9%) completed the study and 145 cases (47.1%) received angiographic follow-up. The restenosis rates were significantly reduced in the XS0601 group as compared with the placebo group (26.0% vs. 47.2%, P < 0.05), and the minimum lumen diameter (MLD) was greater [(2.08 ± 0.89) mm for XS0601 vs. (1.73 ± 0.94) mm for placebo, P < 0.05]. XS0601 also significantly reduced the combined incidence of major adverse cardiac event (10.4% in the XS0601 group vs. 22.7% in the placebo group, P < 0.05). The incidence of recurrent angina at 3 and 6 months after PCI was also significantly reduced in XS0601 group (7.1% and 11.0%) as compared with those in placebo group (19.5% and 42.9%) (P < 0.05). No significant side effects occurred within the 6-month follow-up period in the XS0601 group. | 10 | Evaluating the Accuracy of ERA5 Wave Reanalysis in the Water Around China显示文摘Wave parameters, such as wave height and wave period, are important for human activities, such as navigation, ocean engineering and sediment transport, etc. In this study, wave data from six buoys around Chinese waters, are used to assess the quality of wave height and wave period in the ERA5 reanalysis of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts. Annual hourly data with temporal resolution are used. The difference between the significant wave height(SWH) of ERA 5 and that of the buoy varies from-0.35 m to 0.30 m for the three shallow locations;for the three deep locations, the variation ranges from-0.09 m to 0.09 m. The ERA5 SWH data show positive biases, indicating an overall overestimation for all locations, except for E2 and S1 where underestimation is observed. During the tropical cyclone period, a large(about 32%) underestimation of the maximum SWH in the ERA5 data is observed. Hence, the ERA5 SWH data cannot be used for design applications without site-specific validation. The difference between the annual wave period from ERA5 and the mean wave period from the buoys varies from-1.31 s to 0.4 s. Inter-comparisons suggest that the ERA5 dataset is consistent with the annual mean SWH. However, for the average period, the performance is not good, and half of the correlation coefficients in the four points are less 50%. | 13 | Monolithic integration of MoS2-based visible detectors and GaN-based UV detectors显示文摘With the increasing demand for high integration and multi-color photodetection for both military and civilian applications, the research of multi-wavelength detectors has become a new research hotspot. However, current research has been mainly in visible dual-or multi-wavelength detectors, while integration of both visible light and ultraviolet(UV) dual-wavelength detectors has rarely been studied. In this work, large-scale and high-quality monolayer MoS2 was grown by the chemical vapor deposition method on transparent free-standing GaN substrate. Monolithic integration of MoS2-based visible detectors and GaN-based UV detectors was demonstrated using common semiconductor fabrication technologies such as photolithography, argon plasma etching, and metal deposition. High performance of a 280 nm and 405 nm dual-wavelength photodetector was realized.The responsivity of the UV detector reached 172.12 A/W, while that of the visible detector reached 17.5 A/W.Meanwhile, both photodetectors achieved high photocurrent gain, high external quantum efficiency, high normalized detection rate, and low noise equivalent power. | 14 | Dynamic blood single-cell immune responses in patients with COVID-19显示文摘The 2019 coronavirus disease(COVID-19)outbreak caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus is an ongoing global health emergency.However,the virus'pathogenesis remains unclear,and there is no cure for the disease.We investigated the dynamic changes of blood immune response in patients with COVID-19 at different stages by using 5'gene expression,T cell receptor(TCR),and B cell receptors(BCR)V(D)J transcriptome analysis at a single-cell resolution.We obtained single-cell mRNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)data of 341,420 peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)and 185,430 donotypic T cells and 28,802 donotypic B cells from 25 samples of 16 patients with COVID-19 for dynamic studies.In addition,we used three control samples.We found expansion of dendritic cells(DCs),CD14+monocytes,and megakaryocytes progenitor cells(MP)/platelets and a reduction of naive CD4+T lymphocytes in patients with COVID-19,along with a significant decrease of CD8+T lymphocytes,and natural killer cells(NKs)in patients in critical condition.The type I interferon(IFN-I),mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK),and ferroptosis pathways were activated while the disease was active,and recovered gradually after patient conditions improved.Consistent with this finding,the mRNA level of IFN-I signal-induced gene IFI27 was significantly increased in patients with COVID-19 compared with that of the controls in a validation cohort that included 38 patients and 35 controls.The concentration of interferon-a(IFN-a)in the serum of patients with COVID-19 increased significantly compared with that of the controls in an additional cohort of 215 patients with COVID-19 and 106 controls,further suggesting the important role of the IFN-I pathway in the immune response of COVID-19.TCR and BCR sequences analyses indicated that patients with COVID-19 developed specific immune responses against SARS-CoV-2 antigens.Our study reveals a dynamic landscape of human blood immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 infection,providing clues for therapeutic potentials in treating COVID-19. | Lulin Huang Yi Shi Bo Gong Li Jiang Zhixin Zhang Xiaoqi Liu Jialiang Yang Yongquan He Zhilin Jiang Ling Zhong Juan Tang Chunfang You Qi Jiang Bo Long Tao Zeng Mei Luo Fanwei Zeng Fanxin Zeng Shuqiang Wang Xingxiang Yang Zhenglin Yang | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,4: | 4 |
| 15 | Variation of Yellow River Runoff and Its Influence on Salinity in Laizhou Bay显示文摘Salinity in estuaries has an important influence on sediment deposition,delta formation,and fishery economy.The change of runoff in Yellow River(YR),which is the largest river along the Bohai Sea,has an important effect on the salinity of the sea,particularly in Laizhou Bay.In this study,measured runoff data in Lijin hydrological station from 1950 to 2018 are adopted to examine the change of YR runoff into the sea.The study concludes that the runoff of YR is distributed unevenly throughout the year and the amount of runoff mainly concentrates during the flood season.Results show a decreasing trend at a significant level ofα=0.95,with a range of−6.17×10^9 m^3 yr−1.Three groups of runoff are set by using the Finite-Volume Coastal Ocean Model numerical model to analyze the change of salinity in Laizhou Bay.These modeled effects were compared with water level observations made by Bayuquan,Tanggu,and Penglai gauge stations and salinity surveys conducted by Longkou gauge station.Model results and observations of salinity distributions and coastal water level showed good agreement.We can conclude that the distribution of salinity in Laizhou Bay is high in the east and low in the west.Furthermore,it responded quickly to the change of the runoff from YR.Under conditions of high river discharge,the low-salinity zone increased in horizontal direction and reached the bottom in vertical direction. | SHI Hongyuan LI Qingjie SUN Jiacheng GAO Guandong SUI Yi QIAO Shouwen YOU Zaijin | 2020 | Journal of Ocean University of China2020,19,6: | 3 |
| 16 | Effect of sustained intensive therapy with disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs in rheumatoid arthritis:a 5-year real-world consecutive study显示文摘Background:Intensive therapy with disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs(DMARDs)has been reported to improve the outcomes of rheumatoid arthritis(RA).However,real-world study on the effect of intensive therapy on RA sustained remission is still lacking.This study aimed to investigate the outcome of sustained intensive DMARD therapy(SUIT)for RA in a real-world 5-year consecutive cohort.Methods:Based on a consecutive cohort of 610 out-patients with RA,remission of RA was assessed in 541 patients from 2012 to 2017,by dividing into SUIT,non-SUIT,and intermittent SUIT(Int-SUIT)groups.Changes in the disease activity scores were evaluated by 28-joint disease activity score based on erythrocyte sedimentation rate(DAS28-ESR),28-joint disease activity score based on C-reactive protein(DAS28-CRP),and clinical deep remission criteria(CliDR).Cumulative remission rates between different groups were compared using Kaplan-Meier curves and predictive factors of sustained remission were identified by univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis.Results:The remission rates of the SUIT group decreased from 12.0%(65/541)to 5.6%(20/359)based on DAS28-ESR,from 14.0%(76/541)to 7.2%(26/359)based on DAS28-CRP,and from 8.5%(46/541)to 3.1%(11/359)based on CliDR,respectively,with a gradually decreasing trend during the 5 years.The SUIT regimen led to a significantly higher cumulative remission rate than non-SUIT regimen based on DAS28-ESR(39.7%vs.19.5%,P=0.001),DAS28-CRP(42.0%vs.19.6%,P=0.001),and CliDR(24.5%vs.8.7%,P=0.001).The cumulative remission rates of patients treated with SUIT regimen were significantly higher than those treated with Int-SUIT regimen based on DAS28-ESR(39.7%vs.25.7%,P=0.043)and CliDR(24.5%vs.14.2%,P=0.047),but there was no significant difference between the two groups based on DAS28-CRP(42.0%vs.27.4%,P=0.066).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the use of SUIT regimen was an independent favorable predictor according to different remission definitions(for DAS28-ESR:odds ratio[OR],2.215,95%confidence interval[CI]:1.271–3.861,P=0.005;for DAS28-CRP:OR,1.520,95%CI:1.345–1.783,P=0.002;for CliDR:OR,1.525,95%CI:1.314–1.875,P=0.013).Conclusion:Sustained intensive treatment of RA is an optimal strategy in daily practice and will lead to an increased remission rate. | Yue-Ming Cai Ru Li Hua Ye Jing He Xiao-Lin Sun Jia-Yang Jin Jia-Jia Liu Yu-Zhou Gan Xu-Jie You Jing Xu Lian-Jie Shi Gong Cheng Qing-Wen Wang Zhan-Guo Li | 2020 | Chinese Medical Journal2020,,12: | 3 |

| 18 | Divergence, evolution and adaptation in ray-finned fish genomes显示文摘With the rapid development of next-generation sequencing technologies and bioinformatics, over 50 ray-finned fish genomes by far have been sequenced with high quality. The genomic work provides abundant genetic resources for deep understanding of divergence, evolution and adaptation in the fish genomes. They are also instructive for identification of candidate genes for functional verification, molecular breeding, and development of novel marine drugs. As an example of other omics data, the Fish-T1 K project generated a big database of fish transcriptomes to integrate with these published fish genomes for potential applications.
