Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. Therefore the observation of Insight-HXMT constitutes an important chapter in the full context of multi-wavelength and multi-messenger observation of this historical GW event.TiPei Li ShaoLin Xiong ShuangNan Zhang FangJun Lu LiMing Song XueLei Cao Zhi Chang Gang Chen Li Chen TianXiang Chen Yong Chen YiBao Chen YuPeng Chen Wei Cui WeiWei Cui JingKang Deng YongWei Dong YuanYuan Du MinXue Fu GuanHua Gao He Gao Min Gao MingYu Ge YuDong Gu Ju Guan ChengCheng Guo DaWei Han Wei Hu Yue Huang Jia Huo ShuMei Jia LuHua Jiang WeiChun Jiang Jing Jin YongJie Jin Bing Li ChengKui Li Gang Li MaoShun Li Wei Li Xian Li XiaoBo Li XuFang Li YanGuo Li ZiJian Li ZhengWei Li XiaoHua Liang JinYuan Liao CongZhan Liu GuoQing Liu HongWei Liu ShaoZhen Liu XiaoJing Liu Yuan Liu YiNong Liu Bo Lu XueFeng Lu Tao Luo Xiang Ma Bin Meng Yi Nang JianYin Nie Ge OU JinLu Qu Na Sai Liang Sun Yin Tan Lian Tao WenHui Tao YouLi Tuo GuoFeng Wang HuanYu Wang Juan Wang WenShuai Wang YuSa Wang XiangYang Wen BoBing WU Mei Wu GuangCheng Xiao He Xu YuPeng Xu LinLi Yan JiaWei Yang Sheng Yang YanJi Yang AiMei Zhang ChunLei Zhang ChengMo Zhang Fan Zhang HongMei Zhang Juan Zhang Qiang Zhang Shu Zhang Tong Zhang Wei Zhang WanChang Zhang WenZhao Zhang Yi Zhang Yue Zhang YiFei Zhang YongJie Zhang Zhao Zhang ZiLiang Zhang HaiSheng Zhao JianLing Zhao XiaoFan Zhao ShiJie Zheng Yue Zhu YuXuan Zhu ChangLin Zou 2018Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2018,61,3:12

Stereolithographic 3D Printing-Based Hierarchically Cellular Lattices for High-Performance Quasi-Solid Supercapacitor显示文摘3D printing-based supercapacitors have been extensively explored, yet the rigid rheological requirement for corresponding ink preparation significantly limits the manufacturing of true 3D architecture in achieving superior energy storage. We proposed the stereolithographic technique to fabricate the metallic composite lattices with octet-truss arrangement by using electroless plating and engineering the 3D hierarchically porous graphene onto the scaffolds to build the hierarchically cellular lattices in quasi-solid supercapacitor application. The supercapacitor device that is composed of composite lattices span several pore size orders from nm to mm holds promising behavior on the areal capacitance(57.75 mF cm-2),rate capability(70% retention,2-40 mA cm-2),and long lifespan(96% after 5000 cycles),as well as superior energy density of 0.008 mWh cm-2,which are comparable to the state-of-the-art carbon-based supercapacitor.By synergistically combining this facile stereolithographic 3D printing technology with the hierarchically porous graphene architecture,we provide a novel route of manufacturing energy storage device as well as new insight into building other high-performance functional electronics.Jianzhe Xue Libo Gao Xinkang Hu Ke Cao Wenzhao Zhou Weidong Wang Yang Lu 2019Nano-Micro Letters2019,11,3:2

Tailoring mechanical properties of PμSL 3D-printed structures via size effect显示文摘Projection micro stereolithography(PμSL)has emerged as a powerful three-dimensional(3D)printing technique for manufacturing polymer structures with micron-scale high resolution at high printing speed, which enables the production of customized 3D microlattices with feature sizes down to several microns. However, the mechanical properties of as-printed polymers were not systemically studied at the relevant length scales, especially when the feature sizes step into micron/sub-micron level, limiting its reliable performance prediction in micro/nanolattice and other metamaterial applications. In this work,we demonstrate that PμSL-printed microfibers could become stronger and significantly more ductile with reduced size ranging from 20μm to 60μm,showing an obvious size-dependent mechanical behavior,in which the size decreases to 20μm with a fracture strain up to~100%and fracture strength up to~100 MPa.Such size effect enables the tailoring of the material strength and stiffness of PμSL-printed microlattices over a broad range, allowing to fabricate the microlattice metamaterials with desired/tunable mechanical properties for various structural and functional applications.Wenqiang Zhang Haitao Ye Xiaobin Feng Wenzhao Zhou Ke Cao Maoyuan Li Sufeng Fan Yang Lu 2022International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing2022,4,4:1
High-energy-density plasma in femtosecond-laser-irradiated nanowire-array targets for nuclear reactions显示文摘In this work, the high-energy-density plasmas(HEDP)evolved from joule-class-femtosecond-laser-irradiated nanowire-array(NWA)targets were numerically and experimentally studied. The results of particle-in-cell simulations indicate that ions accelerated in the sheath field around the surfaces of the nanowires are eventually confined in a plasma, contributing most to the high energy densities. The protons emitted from the front surfaces of the NWA targets provide rich information about the interactions that occur. We give the electron and ion energy densities for broad target parameter ranges. The ion energy densities from NWA targets were found to be an order of magnitude higher than those from planar targets, and the volume of the HEDP was several-fold greater. At optimal target parameters,8%of the laser energy can be converted to confined protons, and this results in ion energy densities at the GJ/cm^(3) level. In the experiments, the measured energy of the emitted protons reached 4 MeV,and the changes in energy with the NWA’s parameters were found to fit the simulation results well.Experimental measurements of neutrons from 2H(d,n)3He fusion with a yield of(24±18)×10^(6)/J from deuterated polyethylene NWA targets also confirmed these results.Defeng Kong Guoqiang Zhang Yinren Shou Shirui Xu Zhusong Mei Zhengxuan Cao Zhuo Pan Pengjie Wang Guijun Qi Yao Lou Zhiguo Ma Haoyang Lan Wenzhao Wang Yunhui Li Peter Rubovic Martin Veselsky Aldo Bonasera Jiarui Zhao Yixing Geng Yanying Zhao Changbo Fu Wen Luo Yugang Ma Xueqing Yan Wenjun Ma 2022Matter and Radiation at Extremes2022,7,6:1
Enhanced tensile ductility of tungsten microwires via high-density dislocations and reduced grain boundaries显示文摘Despite being strong with many outstanding physical properties, tungsten is inherently brittle at room temperature, restricting its structural and functional applications at small scales. Here,a facile strategy has been adopted,to introduce high-density dislocations while reducing grain boundaries, through electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD)-guided microfabrication of cold-drawn bulk tungsten wires. The designed tungsten microwire attains an ultralarge uniform tensile elongation of~10.6%,while retains a high yield strength of~2.4 GPa.in situ TEM tensile testing reveals that the large uniform elongation of tungsten microwires originates from the motion of pre-existing high-density dislocations, while the subsequent ductile fracture is attributed to crack-tip plasticity and the inhibition of grain boundary cracking. This work demonstrates the application potential of tungsten microcomponents with superior ductility and workability for micro/nanoscale mechanical, electronic, and energy systems.Chaoqun Dang Weitong Lin Fanling Meng Hongti Zhang Sufeng Fan Xiaocui Li Ke Cao Haokun Yang Wenzhao Zhou Zhengjie Fan Ji-jung Kai Yang Lu 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,36:0
Phenomic Imaging显示文摘Human phenomics is defned as the comprehensive collection of observable phenotypes and characteristics infuenced by a complex interplay among factors at multiple scales. These factors include genes, epigenetics at the microscopic level, organs, microbiome at the mesoscopic level, and diet and environmental exposures at the macroscopic level.“Phenomic imaging”utilizes various imaging techniques to visualize and measure anatomical structures, biological functions, metabolic processes, and biochemical activities across diferent scales, both in vivo and ex vivo.Unlike conventional medical imaging focused on disease diagnosis, phenomic imaging captures both normal and abnormal traits, facilitating detailed correlations between macro-and micro-phenotypes.This approach plays a crucial role in deciphering phenomes. This review provides an overview of diferent phenomic imaging modalities and their applications in human phenomics.Additionally,it explores the associations between phenomic imaging and other omics disciplines, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, immunomics, and metabolomics.By integrating phenomic imaging with other omics data, such as genomics and metabolomics,a comprehensive understanding of biological systems can be achieved. This integration paves the way for the development of new therapeutic approaches and diagnostic tools.Lizhen Lan Kai Feng Yudan Wu Wenbo Zhang Ling Wei Huiting Che Le Xue Yidan Gao Ji Tao Shufang Qian Wenzhao Cao Jun Zhang Chengyan Wang Mei Tian 2023Phenomics2023,3,6:0
Protocol for Brain Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Extraction of Imaging‑Derived Phenotypes from the China Phenobank Project显示文摘Imaging-derived phenotypes(IDPs)have been increasingly used in population-based cohort studies in recent years. As widely reported, magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)is an important imaging modality for assessing the anatomical structure and function of the brain with high resolution and excellent soft-tissue contrast. The purpose of this article was to describe the imaging protocol of the brain MRI in the China Phenobank Project(CHPP).Each participant underwent a 30-min brain MRI scan as part of a 2-h whole-body imaging protocol in CHPP.The brain imaging sequences included T1-magnetization that prepared rapid gradient echo,T2 fuid-attenuated inversion-recovery,magnetic resonance angiography, difusion MRI,and resting-state functional MRI.The detailed descriptions of image acquisition, interpretation, and post-processing were provided in this article. The measured IDPs included volumes of brain subregions, cerebral vessel geometrical parameters, microstructural tracts, and function connectivity metrics.Chengyan Wang Zhang Shi Yan Li Xueqin Xia Xutong Kuang Shufang Qian Le Xue Lizhen Lan Yudan Wu Na Zhang Ji Tao Xumei Hu Wenzhao Cao Naying He Yike Guo Weibo Chen Jun Zhang Jingchun Luo He Wang Mei Tian 2023Phenomics2023,3,6:0
Bioimaging of Dissolvable Microneedle Arrays: Challenges and Opportunities显示文摘The emergence of microneedle arrays(MNAs)as a novel, simple, and minimally invasive administration approach largely addresses the challenges of traditional drug delivery. In particular, the dissolvable MNAs act as a promising, multifarious, and well-controlled platform for micro-nanotransport in medical research and cosmetic formulation applications. The effective delivery mostly depends on the behavior of the MNAs penetrated into the body, and accurate assessment is urgently needed.Advanced imaging technologies offer high sensitivity and resolution visualization of cross-scale,multidimensional,and multiparameter information, which can be used as an important aid for the evaluation and development of new MNAs.The combination of MNA technology and imaging can generate considerable new knowledge in a cost-effective manner with regards to the pharmacokinetics and bioavailability of active substances for the treatment of various diseases. In addition, noninvasive imaging techniques allow rapid, receptive assessment of transdermal penetration and drug deposition in various tissues, which could greatly facilitate the translation of experimental MNAs into clinical application.Relying on the recent promising development of bioimaging, this review is aimed at summarizing the current status, challenges, and future perspective on in vivo assessment of MNA drug delivery by various imaging technologies.Yanni Wang Gehua Ma Guangzhi Gao Ji Tao Wenzhao Cao Haohao Sun Fengsen Ma Yilong Zhang Yen Wei Mei Tian 2022Research2022,,4:0
