1Effect of Heat Treatment Temperature on Properties of Chinese Calcined Flint Clay Based Plastic Refractories显示文摘Effects of different heat treatment temperatures on properties of Chinese calcined flint clay based plastic refractories were investigated using Chinese calcined flint clay as starting material,aluminum sulfate and fireclay as binding system. The results showed that with temperature rising,Chinese calcined flint clay based plastic refractories shrinked firstly and then expanded. The modulus of rupture (MOR) and the cold crushing strength (CCS) increased firstly and then decreased from 110 ℃ to 600 ℃,then increased obviously. 2Microstructure and Oxidation Behaviors of Nano-particles Strengthened NiCoCrAlY Cladded Coatings on Superalloys显示文摘Nano-particles which can largely improve the microstructure and oxidation resistance of materials are often used as a strengthening component in metal matrix composites. However, few studies were reported on its application in the bond coat of duplex structure thermal barrier coating(TBC). Three kinds of NiCoCrAlY coatings strengthened by different nano-particles with the same addition (1%, mass fraction) were prepared by the laser cladding technique on Ni-based superalloy substrates, aiming to study the effects of the nano-particles on microstructure and oxidation resistance of NiCoCrAlY coatings (the bond coat of the duplex structure thermal barrier coatings). Scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray diffractometer(XRD) and thermogravimetry were employed to investigate their morphologies, phases and cyclic oxidation behaviors in atmosphere at 1 050℃, compared with the coating without nano-particles. With the addition of nano-particles, the growth pattern of the grains at the interface changed from epitaxial growth to non-epitaxial growth or part-epitaxial growth; slender dendrites were broken and cellularized; cracks and pores were restrained; and the oxidation weight-gain and the stripping resistance of the oxide scale were improved as well. Among the three kinds of nano-particles, the SiC nano-particles showed the most improvement on microstructure, while the CeO2 nano-particles were insufficient, but its effects on the oxidation resistance are the same as those of the SiC nano-particles. 3Performance of pond–wetland complexes as a preliminary processor of drinking water sources显示文摘Shijiuyang Constructed Wetland(110 hm^2) is a drinking water source treatment wetland with primary structural units of ponds and plant-bed/ditch systems. The wetland can process about 250,000 tonnes of source water in the Xincheng River every day and supplies raw water for Shijiuyang Drinking Water Plant. Daily data for 28 months indicated that the major water quality indexes of source water had been improved by one grade. The percentage increase for dissolved oxygen and the removal rates of ammonia nitrogen, iron and manganese were 73.63%, 38.86%, 35.64%, and 22.14% respectively. The treatment performance weight of ponds and plant-bed/ditch systems was roughly equal but they treated different pollutants preferentially. Most water quality indexes had better treatment efficacy with increasing temperature and inlet concentrations. These results revealed that the pond–wetland complexes exhibited strong buffering capacity for source water quality improvement. The treatment cost of Shijiuyang Drinking Water Plant was reduced by about 30.3%. Regional rainfall significantly determined the external river water levels and adversely deteriorated the inlet water quality, thus suggesting that the 'hidden' diffuse pollution in the multitudinous stream branches as well as their catchments should be the controlling emphases for river source water protection in the future. The combination of pond and plant-bed/ditch systems provides a successful paradigm for drinking water source pretreatment. 5Preliminary Analysis of Diesel-Degrading Bacteria Immobilized on Organic Carriers in Seawater显示文摘Oil pollution in marine environment is becoming increasingly serious. Oil bioremediation by immobilization technology has been widely studied. However, the effect of bacteria immobilization was limited because of lack of nutrients. In this paper, the organic materials(corn straw, corn cob and corn leaf) were used as carriers. The diesel removal rate achieved by the immobilized bacteria was studied, and the effects of nutrients(e.g. nitrogen and phosphorus) released from organic carriers to the immobilized bacteria were analyzed. Test results indicated that a certain amount of nutrients was released from organic carriers. Additionally, the diesel removal rates achieved by different immobilized bacteria were all higher than those achieved by free bacteria. And, the diesel removal rates achieved by bacteria decreased in the following order: bacteria immobilized on corn straw(79%), bacteria immobilized on corn leaf(70%) and bacteria immobilized on corn cob(43%). These findings indicated two aspects, viz.: the carriers porous structure and the nutrients, which were favorable to biodegradation. Finally, the changes in nitrogen and phosphorus contents that were released from different carriers during biodegradation were studied. The results showed that the rate of diesel biodegradation was fast in the initial phase because of the sufficient nutrients released from carriers. 8Learning curve of totally thoracoscopic pulmonarysegmentectomy显示文摘Totally thoracoscopic pulmonary segmentectomy (TTPS) is a feasible and sale technique that requiresadvanced thoracoscopic skills and knowledge of pulmonary anatomy. However, data describing the learning curveof TTPS have yet to be obtained. In this study, 128 patients who underwent TTPS between September 2010 andDecember 2013 were retrospectively analyzed to evaluate the learning curve and were divided chronologically intothree phases, namely, ascending phase (A), plateau phase (B), and descending phase (C), through cumulativesummation (CUSUM) for operative time (OT). Phases A, B, and C comprised 39, 33, and 56 cases, respectively. OTand blood loss decreased significantly from phases A to C (P 〈 0.01), and the frequency of intraoperativebronchoscopy for target bronchus identification decreased gradually (A, 8/39; B, 4/33; C, 3/56; P = 0.06). Nosignificant differences were observed in demographic factors, conversion, complications, hospital stay, andretrieved lymph nodes among the three phases. Surgical outcomes and techniques improved with experience andvolume. 16L1CAM overexpression promotes tumor progression through recruitment of regulatory T cells in esophageal carcinoma显示文摘Objective:L1 cell adhesion molecule(L1 CAM)exhibits oncogenic activity in tumors.However,the link between L1 CAM and the tumor microenvironment remains poorly understood in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).In this study,we investigated how L1 CAM expression in ESCC affects the oncogenic characteristics of tumor cells and the tumor microenvironment.Methods:Human ESCC samples were collected,and the m RNA and protein levels of L1 CAM were examined by real-time PCR and immunohistochemistry.Overexpression and knockdown gene expression assays were used for mechanistic studies.The cell proliferation and cell cycle were measured with CCK-8 assays and flow cytometry.Cell migration and invasion ability were measured with Transwell assays.Multiplex bead-based assays were performed to identity the factors downstream of L1 CAM.Xenograft studies were performed in nude mice to evaluate the effects of L1 CAM on tumor growth and regulatory T cell(Treg)recruitment.Results:L1 CAM expression was significantly elevated in ESCC tissues(P<0.001)and correlated with poorer prognosis(P<0.05).Ablation of L1 CAM in ESCC cells inhibited tumor growth and migration,and increased tumor cell apoptosis(P<0.05).In the tumor microenvironment,L1 CAM expression correlated with Treg infiltration in ESCC by affecting CCL22 secretion.Mechanistically,L1 CAM facilitated CCL22 expression by activating the PI3 K/Akt/NF-κB signaling pathway.Furthermore,CCL22 promoted Treg recruitment to the tumor site;the Tregs then secreted TGF-β,which in turn promoted L1 CAM expression via Smad2/3 in a positive feedback loop.Conclusions:Our findings provide new insight into the mechanism of immune evasion mediated by L1 CAM,suggesting that targeting L1 CAM-CCL22-TGF-βcrosstalk between tumor cells and Tregs may offer a unique means to improve treatment of patients with ESCC.Xuan Zhao Shasha Liu Xinfeng Chen Jianyi Zhao Feng Li Qitai Zhao Tan Xie Lan Huang Zhen Zhang Yu Qi Yang Yang Song Zhao Yi Zhang 2021Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,2:1
17Effective enrichment of Zn from smelting wastewater via an integrated Fe coagulation and hematite precipitation method显示文摘Coagulation is commonly applied to treat Zn-bearing wastewater from smelting industries(smelting wastewater),and thus the Zn-bearing sludge was considerably produced,which should be solidified before safety disposal.Herein,we demonstrated a novel approach to recycle Zn effectively from smelting wastewater via an integrated Fe coagulation and hematite precipitation method.First,smelting wastewater was coagulated by adding ferric chloride to generate Fe/Zn-bearing sludge(sludge for short).Secondly,the sludge was dissolved to generate an acid solution containing 2.2 g/L of Zn and 39.2 g/L of Fe.Thirdly,the Fe/Zn-bearing solution was hydrothermally treated,and 89%of Fe was eliminated to highly purified hematite block,whereas the percentage of Zn lost was below 1.1%.Finally,the hematite precipitates were collected,and the supernatant was hydrothermally treated again with the addition of glucose.When the molar ratio of glucose to Fe in the supernatant was 1.5,over 99.5%of Fe was precipitated in hematite nanoparticles with a diameter of 10-100 nm,and the residual Fe was 21.5 mg/L.The loss of Zn was below 0.4%,and the residual Zn in the solution was 2169 mg/L,290 times of that in the smelting wastewater.The major mechanism for Fe removal was the hydrolysis of ferric nitrate into hematite,which was promoted by nitrate consumption in glucose oxidation.This paper is the first report of an environment-friendly method for enriching Zn without generating any waste.Zhan Qu Ting Su Yu Chen Xue Lin Yang Yu Suiyi Zhu Xinfeng Xie Mingxin Huo 2019Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2019,13,6:1

19Transformation of Undesired Li_(2)CO_(3)into Lithiophilic Layer Via Double Replacement Reaction for Garnet Electrolyte Engineering显示文摘Garnet-type solid-state electrolytes(SSEs)are a remarkable Li-ion electrolyte for the realization of next-generation all-solid-state lithium batteries due to their excellent stability against Li metal as well as high ionic conductivities at room temperature.However,garnet electrolytes always contain undesired and hardly removable Li_(2)CO_(3) contaminations that have persistently large resistance and unstable interface contact with Li metal.This is a critical bottleneck for the practical application of garnet electrolytes.Here,we design a novel strategy to completely root out Li_(2)CO_(3) both inside and on the surface of garnet.This is achieved by a so-called double replacement reaction between Li_(2)CO_(3) and SiO_(2) during one-step hot press process for garnet electrolyte densification.It leads to in-situ transformation of LixSiOy(LSO)mostly locating around the grain boundaries of garnet.Due to the higher ion conductivity and better electrochemistry stability of LSO than Li_(2)CO_(3),the modified garnet electrolyte shows much improved electrochemical performance.Moreover,the wettability between modified garnet electrolyte and lithium metals was significantly enhanced in the absence of surface Li_(2)CO_(3).As a proof of concept,an assembled Li symmetric cell with modified garnet electrolyte displays a high critical current density(CCD)of 0.7 mA cm^(-2)and a low interfacial impedance(5Ωcm^(2))at 25℃.These results indicate that the upcycling of Li_(2)CO_(3)is a promising strategy to well-address the degradation and interfacial issue associated with garnet electrolytes.Jiaxu Zhang Ruohan Yu Jun Li Huiyu Zhai Gangjian Tan Xinfeng Tang 2022Energy & Environmental Materials2022,5,3:0
20Peridynamic Study on Fracture Mode and Crack Propagation Path of a Plate with Multiple Cracks Subjected to Uniaxial Tension显示文摘How to simulate fracture mode and crack propagation path in a plate with multiple cracks is an attractive but difficult issue in fracture mechanics.Peridynamics is a recently developed nonlocal continuum formulation that can spontaneously predict the crack nucleation,branch and propagation in materials and structures through a meshfree discrete technique.In this paper,the peridynamic motion equation with boundary traction is improved by simplifying the boundary transfer functions.We calculate the critical cracking load and the fracture angles of the plate with multiple cracks under uniaxial tension.The results are consistent with those predicted by classical fracture mechanics.The fracture mode and crack propagation path are also determined.The calculation shows that the brittle fracture process of the plate with multiple cracks can be conveniently and correctly simulated by the peridynamic motion equation with boundary conditions.Zeyuan Zhou Ming Yu Xinfeng Wang Zaixing Huang 2023Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2023,137,12:0
