1Hydrological and water cycle processes of inland river basins in the arid region of Northwest China显示文摘The increasing shortage in water resources is a key factor affecting sustainable socio-economic development in the arid region of Northwest China(ARNC). Water shortages also affect the stability of the region's oasis ecosystem. This paper summarizes the hydrological processes and water cycle of inland river basins in the ARNC, focusing on the following aspects: the spatial-temporal features of water resources(including air water vapor resources, runoff, and glacial meltwater) and their driving forces; the characteristics of streamflow composition in the inland river basins; the characteristics and main controlling factors of baseflow in the inland rivers; and anticipated future changes in hydrological processes and water resources. The results indicate that:(1) although the runoff in most inland rivers in the ARNC showed a significant increasing trend, both the glaciated area and glacial ice reserves have been reduced in the mountains;(2) snow melt and glacier melt are extremely important hydrological processes in the ARNC, especially in the Kunlun and Tianshan mountains;(3) baseflow in the inland rivers of the ARNC is the result of climate change and human activities, with the main driving factors being the reduction in forest area and the over-exploitation and utilization of groundwater in the river basins; and(4) the contradictions among water resources, ecology and economy will further increase in the future. 3Potential risks and challenges of climate change in the arid region of northwestern China显示文摘In the arid region of northwestern China(ARNC),water resources are the most critical factor restricting socioeconomic development and influencing the stability of the area’s ecological systems.The region’s complex water system and unique hydrological cycle show distinctive characteristics.Moreover,the intensified hydrological cycle and extreme climatic and hydrological events resulting from global warming have led to increased uncertainty around water resources as well as heightened conflict between water supply and water demand.All of these factors are exerting growing pressures on the socioeconomic development and vulnerable ecological environment in the region.This research evaluates the impacts of climate change on water resources,hydrological processes,agricultural system,and desert ecosystems in the ARNC,and addresses some associated risks and challenges specific to this area.The temperature is rising at a rate of 0.31C per decade during 1961–2017 and hydrological processes are being significantly influenced by changes in glaciers,snow cover,and precipitation form,especially in the rivers recharged primarily by melt water.Ecosystems are also largely influenced by climate change,with the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI)of natural vegetation exhibited an increasing trend prior to 1998,and then reversed in Xinjiang while the Hexi Corridor of Gansu showed the opposite trends.Furthermore,the desert-oasis transition zone showed a reduction in area due to the warming trend and the recent rapid expansion of irrigated area.Both the warming and intensified drought are threatening agriculture security.The present study could shed light on sustainable development in this region under climate change and provides scientific basis to the construction of the“Silk Road Economic Belt”.Yaning Chen Xueqi Zhang Gonghuan Fang Zhi Li Fei Wang Jingxiu Qin Fan Sun 2020Regional Sustainability2020,1,1:6
4Impacts of Climatic Change on River Runoff in Northern Xinjiang of China over Last Fifty Years显示文摘The characteristics of climatic change and river runoff, as well as the response of river runoff to climatic change in the northern Xinjiang are analyzed on the basis of the hydrological and meteorological data over the last 50 years by the methods of Mann-Kendall nonparametric test and the nonlinear regression model. The results show that: 1) The temperature and the precipitation increased significantly in the whole northern Xinjiang, but the precipitation displayed no obvious change, or even a decreasing trend in the northern mountainous area of the northern Xinjiang. 2) River runoff varied in different regions in the northern Xinjiang. It significantly increased in the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains and the north of the northern Xinjiang (p = 0.05), while slightly increased in the west of the northern Xinjiang. 3) North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) affects river runoff by influencing temperature and precipitation. The NAO and precipitation had apparent significant correlations with the river runoff, but the temperature did not in the northern Xinjiang. Since the mid-1990s river runoff increase was mainly caused by the increasing temperature in the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains and the north of the northern Xinjiang. 5Evaluation of oasis stability in the lower reaches of the Tarim River显示文摘Oasis stability in the lower reaches of the Tarim River was assessed at the landscape scale(including changes in landscape pattern and land use in the oasis) and at the regional scale(including the cold-island effect and NDVI of the oasis) based on the methods of landscape ecology,GIS and Remote Sensing(RS).Thematic Mapping(TM) remote sensing images from 1990,2000 and 2009 were employed along with the related meteorological and hydrological data pertaining to the reclamation area of the oasis in the lower reaches of the Tarim River.The results indicated that landscape heterogeneity and oasis complexity increased between 1990 and 2000.The comprehensive index of the degree of land use,the average index of the cold-island effect,NDVI value and oasis stability all decreased.However,the change trends in the indices referred to above were opposite between 2000 and 2009,and oasis stability was enhanced to some extent.Chao LENG YaNing CHEN XinGong LI YanXia SUN 2011Journal of Arid Land2011,3,2:4
6Spatial Variability of Soil Carbon to Nitrogen Ratio and Its Driving Factors in Ili River Valley,Xinjiang,Northwest China显示文摘Soil carbon to nitrogen(C/N) ratio is one of the most important variables reflecting soil quality and ecological function,and an indicator for assessing carbon and nitrogen nutrition balance of soils.Its variation reflects the carbon and nitrogen cycling of soils.In order to explore the spatial variability of soil C/N ratio and its controlling factors of the Ili River valley in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region,Northwest China,the traditional statistical methods,including correlation analysis,geostatistic alanalys and multiple regression analysis were used.The statistical results showed that the soil C/N ratio varied from 7.00 to 23.11,with a mean value of 10.92,and the coefficient of variation was 31.3%.Correlation analysis showed that longitude,altitude,precipitation,soil water,organic carbon,and total nitrogen were positively correlated with the soil C/N ratio(P < 0.01),whereas negative correlations were found between the soil C/N ratio and latitude,temperature,soil bulk density and soil p H.Ordinary Cokriging interpolation showed that r and ME were 0.73 and 0.57,respectively,indicating that the prediction accuracy was high.The spatial autocorrelation of the soil C/N ratio was 6.4 km,and the nugget effect of the soil C/N ratio was 10% with a patchy distribution,in which the area with high value(12.00–20.41) accounted for 22.6% of the total area.Land uses changed the soil C/N ratio with the order of cultivated land > grass land > forest land > garden.Multiple regression analysis showed that geographical and climatic factors,and soil physical and chemical properties could independently explain 26.8%and 55.4% of the spatial features of soil C/N ratio,while human activities could independently explain 5.4% of the spatial features only.The spatial distribution of soil C/N ratio in the study has important reference value for managing soil carbon and nitrogen,and for improving ecological function to similar regions.SUN Guojun LI Weihong ZHU Chenggang CHEN Yaning 2017Chinese Geographical Science2017,27,4:4
7Vitamin D supplementation in pregnant women or infants for preventing allergic diseases:a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials显示文摘Background:It is still unclear if and to what extent antenatal or infant or childhood vitamin D supplementation would affect the development of allergy diseases later in life.This study aimed to review the efficacy of vitamin D supplementation in pregnant women,infants,or children for the prevention of allergies.Methods:MEDLINE(PubMed),EMBASE(OVID),and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials were searched up to March 1,2020.We included only randomized controlled trials(RCTs).We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis for vitamin D supplementation in primary allergy prevention.These trials were assessed for risk of bias using the Cochrane Collaboration domains and the consensus was reached via discussion with the full study group.We descriptively summarized and quantitatively synthesized original data to evaluate vitamin D supplementation in primary allergy prevention by using Review Manager software for meta-analysis.Results:The search yielded 1251 studies.Seven RCTs were included in this analysis.A meta-analysis revealed that vitamin D supplementation for pregnant women or infants may not decrease the risk of developing allergic diseases,such as asthma or wheezing(supplementation for pregnant women,risk ratio[RR]:1.01,95%confidence interval[CI]:0.81-1.26,P=0.90,I^(2)=47%;supplementation for infants,RR:1.00,95%CI:0.70-1.43,P=0.99,I2=0%;supplementation for pregnant women and infants,RR:0.35,95%CI:0.10-1.25,P=0.11),eczema(supplementation for pregnant women,RR:0.95,95%CI:0.80-1.13,P=0.77,I^(2)=0%;supplementation for infants,RR:0.84,95%CI:0.64-1.11,P=0.19,I2=42%),allergic rhinitis(supplementation for pregnant women,RR:0.93,95%CI:0.78-1.11,P=0.15,I^(2)=47%),lower respiratory tract infection(LRTI)(supplementation for pregnant women,RR:0.97,95%CI:0.85-1.11,P=0.59,I^(2)=0%),or food allergy.Conclusions:Supplementation of vitamin D in pregnant women or infants does not have an effect on the primary prevention of allergic diseases.Chao Luo Yaning Sun Zuojing Zeng Ying Liu Shunlin Peng 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,3:3
8Enhanced simultaneous absorption of NO_(x) and SO_(2) in oxidation-reduction-absorption process with a compounded system based on Na_(2)SO_(3)显示文摘Oxidation of sulfite and competitive absorption existed in Na_(2)SO_(3) solution for simultaneous removal of NO_(x) and SO_(2),inhibited the long-term high-efficiency when used for practical applications.A matching strategy was developed to solve these problems.Antioxidants combination was used to retard the oxidation of antioxidant and enhance inhibition of S(IV)(tetravalent sulfur)oxidation.Hydroquinone(HQ)and sodium thiosulfate(ST)showed a positive synergistic effect on inhibition of S(IV)oxidation.When SO_(2) concentration was 500 and 2000 ppmV,the addition of 0.1 wt.%HQ and 1 wt.%ST decreased the percentage of S(IV)oxidized by oxygen by over 30%and 40%,respectively.Alkali(Na_(2)CO_(3))alleviated the competitive absorption between NO_(x) and SO_(2).Moreover,Na_(2)CO_(3) exhibited an enhancement effect on the absorption of NO_(x) and SO_(2) when coupled with anti-oxidants.While the increase of oxygen pressure accelerated the oxidation of S(IV),the anti-oxidants can retard the oxidation.The measurement of pH suggested the removal efficiency of NO_(x) highly depended on SO_(3)^(2-) concentration rather than pH.The further investigation of the mechanism suggested the match effect was related to the interaction between ST and the intermediate product of HQ.The match strategy holds a potential for application of SO_(3)^(2-) to denitration.Sichao Li Wenjun Huang Haomiao Xu Kai Liu Jia-nan Wang Yaning Sun Zan Qu Naiqiang Yan 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,1:2

19Surfactant-Modified Hydrophobic Biochar Derived from Laver (Porphyra haitanensis) with Superior Removal Performance for Kitchen Oil显示文摘In this study,a novel absorpent(MSAR600℃)with a hydrophobic surface and hierarchical porous structure for the removal of kitchen oil was facilely fabricated from the macroalgae,laver(Porphyra haitanensis)by incorpor-ating high-temperature carbonization and alkyl polyglucosides(APG)and rhamnolipid(RL)surfactants modifi-cation.The characterization results showed MSAR600℃ possessed a louts-leaf-like papillae microstructure with high contact angle(137.5°),abundant porous structure with high specific surface area(23.4 m^(2)/g),and various oxygen-containing functional groups(-OH,C=O,C-O).Batch adsorption experiments were conducted to inves-tigate the effect of adsorption time,temperature,pH,and absorbent dose on kitchen oil adsorption performance.Then the practical application for the removal of kitchen oil using MSAR600℃ was also performed.The results showed that MSAR600℃ had a higher removal efficiency for kitchen oil(75.98%),compared with the commercial detergent(72.3%).This study demonstrates an example of fabricating a green tableware detergent for enhanced removal performance of kitchen oil.Jiaxing Sun Lili Ji Qianrui He Ran Li Xiaoyue Xia Yaning Wang Yi Yang Lu Cai Jian Guo 2023Journal of Renewable Materials2023,11,8:0
20An Improved Gorilla Troops Optimizer Based on Lens Opposition-Based Learning and Adaptive β-Hill Climbing for Global Optimization显示文摘Gorilla troops optimizer(GTO)is a newly developed meta-heuristic algorithm,which is inspired by the collective lifestyle and social intelligence of gorillas.Similar to othermetaheuristics,the convergence accuracy and stability of GTOwill deterioratewhen the optimization problems to be solved becomemore complex and flexible.To overcome these defects and achieve better performance,this paper proposes an improved gorilla troops optimizer(IGTO).First,Circle chaotic mapping is introduced to initialize the positions of gorillas,which facilitates the population diversity and establishes a good foundation for global search.Then,in order to avoid getting trapped in the local optimum,the lens opposition-based learning mechanism is adopted to expand the search ranges.Besides,a novel local search-based algorithm,namely adaptiveβ-hill climbing,is amalgamated with GTO to increase the final solution precision.Attributed to three improvements,the exploration and exploitation capabilities of the basic GTOare greatly enhanced.The performance of the proposed algorithm is comprehensively evaluated and analyzed on 19 classical benchmark functions.The numerical and statistical results demonstrate that IGTO can provide better solution quality,local optimumavoidance,and robustness compared with the basic GTOand five other wellknown algorithms.Moreover,the applicability of IGTOis further proved through resolving four engineering design problems and training multilayer perceptron.The experimental results suggest that IGTO exhibits remarkable competitive performance and promising prospects in real-world tasks.Yaning Xiao Xue Sun Yanling Guo Sanping Li Yapeng Zhang Yangwei Wang 2022Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2022,,5:0
