2Arabidopsis VQ10 interacts with WRKY8 to modulate basal defense against Botrytis cinerea显示文摘Recent studies in Arabidopsis have revealed that some VQ motif-containing proteins physically interact with WRKY transcription factors;however,their specific biological functions are still poorly understood.In this study,we confirmed the interaction between VQ10and WRKY8,and show that VQ10 and WRKY8 formed a complex in the plant cell nucleus.Yeast two-hybrid analysis showed that the middle region of WRKY8 and the VQ motif of VQ10 are critical for their interaction,and that this interaction promotes the DNA-binding activity of WRKY8.Further investigation revealed that the VQ10protein was exclusively localized in the nucleus,and VQ10was predominantly expressed in siliques.VQ10 expression was strongly responsive to the necrotrophic fungal pathogen,Botrytis cinerea and defense-related hormones.Phenotypic analysis showed that disruption of VQ10 increased mutant plants susceptibility to the fungal pathogen B.cinerea,whereas constitutive-expression of VQ10 enhanced resistance to B.cinerea.Consistent with these findings,expression of the defenserelated PLANT DEFENSIN1.2(PDF1.2)gene was decreased in vq10 mutant plants,after B.cinerea infection,but increased in VQ10-overexpressing transgenic plants.Taken together,our findings provide evidence that VQ10 physically interacts with WRKY8 and positively regulates plant basal resistance against the necrotrophic fungal pathogen B.cinerea.Junqiu Chen Houping Wang Yang Li Jinjing Pan Yanru Hu Diqiu Yu 2018Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2018,60,10:8

4Characterization of 500 Chinese patients with cervical esophageal cancer by clinicopathological and treatment outcomes显示文摘Objective: There are no comprehensive studies on survival outcomes and optimal treatment protocols for cervical esophageal cancer(CEC), due to its rare clinical prevalence. Our objective was to determine the relationship between pathological characteristics, treatment protocols, and survival outcomes in Chinese CEC patients.Methods: A total of 500 Chinese CEC patients were selected from our 500,000 esophageal and gastric cardia carcinoma database(1973–2018). There were two main groups: patients treated with surgery, and patients receiving non-surgical treatments(radiotherapy, radiochemotherapy, and chemotherapy). The Chi-square test and Kaplan–Meier method were used to compare the continuous variables and survival.Results: Among the 500 CEC patients, 278(55.6%) were male, and the median age was 60.9 ± 9.4 years. A total of 496 patients(99.2%) were diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. In 171(34.2%) patients who received surgery, 22(12.9%) had undergone laryngectomy. In 322(64.4%) patients who received non-surgical treatments, 245(76.1%) received radiotherapy. Stratified survival analysis showed that only T stage was related with survival outcomes for CEC patients in the surgical group, and the outcomes between laryngectomy and non-laryngectomy patients were similar. It was noteworthy that the 5-year survival rate was similar in CEC patients among the different groups treated with surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, or radiochemotherapy(P = 0.244). Conclusions: The CEC patients had similar survival outcomes after curative esophagectomy and radiotherapy, including those with or without total laryngectomy. 5Aerosol light absorption in a coastal city in Southeast China:Temporal variations and implications for brown carbon显示文摘Light-absorbing carbonaceous aerosols including black carbon(BC) and brown carbon(BrC)play significant roles in atmospheric radiative properties. One-year measurements of aerosol light absorption at multi-wavelength were continuously conducted in Xiamen,southeast of China in 2014 to determine the light absorption properties including absorption coefficients(σabs) and absorption ?ngstr?m exponent(AAE) in the coastal city.Light absorptions of BC and BrC with their contributions to total light absorption were further quantified. Mean σabsat 370 nm and 880 nm were 56.6 ± 34.3 and 16.5 ± 11.2 Mm-1,respectively. σabspresented a double-peaks diurnal pattern with the maximum in the morning and the minimum in the afternoon. σabswas low in warm seasons and high in cold seasons. AAE ranged from 0.26 to 2.58 with the annual mean of 1.46, implying that both fossil fuel combustion and biomass burning influenced aerosol optical properties. σabsof BrC at 370 nm was 24.0 ± 5.7 Mm-1, contributing 42% to the total absorption. The highest AAE(1.52 ± 0.02) and largest BrC contributions(47% ± 4%) in winter suggested the significant influence of biomass burning on aerosol light absorption. Long-distance air masses passing through North China Plain and the Yangtze River Delta led to high AAE and BrC contributions. High AAE value of 1.46 in July indicated that long-range transport of the air pollutants from intense biomass burning in Southeast Asia would affect aerosol light absorption in Southeast China. 6Preparation of Aminated Lignin through Etherification and Amination显示文摘A new method for the preparation of aminated lignin(AEL) through etherification and amination reaction was presented. Chlorine atoms were firstly introduced into lignin through its etherification with epichlorohydrin. Then, hydrophilic amine groups were grafted to the modified lignin structure through amination with ethylenediamine to obtain AEL. Subsequent acidification of AEL led to the ionized aminated lignin(IAEL). The results of our analyses showed that the nitrogen content of AEL was 6.9%. Foaming and emulsifying experiments indicated that AEL had better foamability and emulsifying properties than IAEL. Surface tension tests showed that AEL and IAEL had similar critical micelle concentration(CMC). However, IAEL had lower surface tension(36.33 mN/m) than AEL(42.89 mN/m) at CMC. 7Characteristics of the coseismic geomagnetic disturbances recorded during the 2008 M_w 7.9 Wenchuan Earthquake and two unexplained problems显示文摘Twenty-seven FHDZ-M15 combined geomagnetic observation systems(each of which is equipped with a fluxgate magnetometer and a proton magnetometer)had been installed in the China geomagnetic network before the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake,during which coseismic disturbances were recorded by 26 fluxgate magnetometer observatories.The geomagnetic disturbances have similar spatial and temporal patterns to seismic waves,except for various delays.Six proton magnetometer observatories recorded coseismic disturbances with very small amplitudes.In addition,fluxgate magnetometers registered largeamplitude disturbances that are likely to have included responses to seismic waves.However,two problems remain unresolved.First,why do these geomagnetic disturbances always arrive later than P waves?Second,why do the geomagnetic disturbances have spatial and temporal directivity similar to the main rupture direction of the earthquake?Solving these two problems may be crucial to find the mechanism responsible for generating these geomagnetic anomalies.YaLi Wang Tao Xie YanRu An Chong Yue JiuYang Wang Chen Yu Li Yao Jun Lu 2019Earth and Planetary Physics2019,3,5:4

13Anchoring Active Sites by Pt_(2)FeNi Alloy Nanoparticles on NiFe Layered Double Hydroxides for Efficient Electrocatalytic Oxygen Evolution Reaction显示文摘Strategy of anchoring alloy nanoparticles made up of the efficient catalytic element(e.g.,Ni,Fe)on dodecyl sulfate(DS^(-))-intercalated NiFe layered double hydroxides(DS^(-)-NiFe LDH)obtained by a convenient one-step hydrothermal coprecipitation method for essentially enhancing oxygen evolution reaction(OER)performance was proposed.The results of structural characterization indicate Pt_(2)FeNi alloy nanoparticles evenly distribute on the surface of DS^(-)-NiFe LDH.The sizes of the Pt_(2)FeNi nanoparticles,closely related to their OER performance,could be wellcontrolled by adjusting the amount of H;PtCl;addition.The composite structure of as-prepared product was stable during processes of synthesis,exfoliation,self-assembly,and subsequent electrocatalytic OER.Rigorous electrochemical test proving the contributing catalytic active sites was located at the interface between Pt_(2)FeNi and DS^(-)-NiFe LDH,and the Ni and Fe were the major active elements while O atoms are adsorption sites.The formation of Pt_(2)FeNi nanoparticles could greatly prompt the reduction of Tafel slope.The best-performing Pt_(2)FeNi/DS^(-)-NiFe LDH with a Pt content of 0.98 wt%achieved low overpotential of 204 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2)and 262 mV at 50 mA cm^(-2).This work provides a convenient and effective strategy to create additional active sites for enhancing OER performance of NiFe LDH and make contribution to its wide application.Zhicheng Zheng Yanru Guo Hao Wan Gen Chen Ning Zhang Wei Ma Xiaohe Liu Shuquan Liang Renzhi Ma 2022Energy & Environmental Materials2022,5,1:1
