Plant abiotic stress response and nutrient use efficiency显示文摘Abiotic stresses and soil nutrient limitations are major environmental conditions that reduce plant growth, productivity and quality.Plants have evolved mechanisms to perceive these environmental challenges, transmit the stress signals within cells as well as between cells and tissues, and make appropriate adjustments in their growth and development in order to survive and reproduce. In recent years, significant progress has been made on many fronts of the stress signaling research, particularly in understanding the downstream signaling events that culminate at the activation of stress-and nutrient limitation-responsive genes, cellular ion homeostasis, and growth adjustment. However, the revelation of the early events of stress signaling, particularly the identification of primary stress sensors, still lags behind. In this review,we summarize recent work on the genetic and molecular mechanisms of plant abiotic stress and nutrient limitation sensing and signaling and discuss new directions for future studies. | Zhizhong Gong Liming Xiong Huazhong Shi Shuhua Yang Luis R.Herrera-Estrella Guohua Xu Dai-Yin Chao Jingrui Li Peng-Yun Wang Feng Qin Jigang Li Yanglin Ding Yiting Shi Yu Wang Yongqing Yang Yan Guo Jian-Kang Zhu | 2020 | Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,5: | 94
Protein kinases in plant responses to drought, salt, and cold stress显示文摘Protein kinases are major players in various signal transduction pathways. Understanding the molecular mechanisms behind plant responses to biotic and abiotic stresses has become critical for developing and breeding climate-resilient crops. In this review,we summarize recent progress on understanding plant drought, salt, and cold stress responses, with a focus on signal perception and transduction by different protein kinases, especially sucrose nonfermenting1(SNF1)-related protein kinases(Sn RKs),mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK) cascades,calcium-dependent protein kinases(CDPKs/CPKs),and receptor-like kinases(RLKs). We also discuss future challenges in these research fields. | Xuexue Chen Yanglin Ding Yongqing Yang Chunpeng Song Baoshan Wang Shuhua Yang Yan Guo Zhizhong Gong | 2021 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2021,63,1: | 13
Impact of Synchronous Condenser on the Dynamic Behavior of LCC-based UHVDC System Hierarchically Connected to AC System显示文摘Hierarchical connection(HC)is a very attractive mode for±800 kV line commutated converter based ultra high voltage direct current(LCC-UHVDC)system connected to different AC voltage levels because of its ability to reduce the scale factor of a converter transformer.Faults in the HC-UHVDC system can cause commutation failure(CF).In this paper, impact of synchronous condenser(SC)to mitigate CF in HC-UHVDC system is analyzed.A±800KV HC-UHVDC system along with synchronous condenser is built in PSCAD/EMTDC.Transient performance analysis of HC-UHVDC for single and three phase to ground faults is investigated.Commutation failure immunity index(CFII),commutation failure probability index(CFPI),fault recovery time(FRT),and transient overvoltage(TOV)are used as measures to evaluate the effects of SC at HC-UHVDC system design. The simulation results show that SC can make the HCUHVDC system less susceptible to CF,effectively improve fault recovery performances of the overall system, and reduce transient overvoltage when single or multiple converters are blocked. The results of this research can provide technical assistance in real world HC-UHVDC projects. | Ali Aamir Li Qiao Chunyi Guo Atiq Ur Rehman Zhizhong Yang | 2019 | CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2019,5,2: | 9
Different Expression Analysis in Fruit Softening and Ethylene Biosynthetic Pathways in Peaches of Different Flesh Textures显示文摘The aim of our study was to assess differences in the expression of genes involved in fruit softening and ethylene biosynthetic pathways under different temperature storage conditions. Different peach cultivars of ‘Xiacui' and ‘Yumyeong', which are stonyhard, ‘Yinhualu', which is softmelting, ‘Hujing Milu', which is hard-melting, and ‘Baby Gold 6', which is non-melting at 80% ripening, were collected as test materials. The results showed that only slight ethylene production was detected after harvesting of ‘Yumyeong' and ‘Xiacui' under either a room temperature(25 °C) or low temperature(4 °C). The fruit firmness of stonyhard cultivars was retained at a high level under room temperature over time, whereas a low temperature induced ‘Yumyeong' fruit to soften. Quantitative real-time PCR results indicated that the PpACS1 gene was highly expressed in soft-melting, hard-melting and non-melting cultivars; however, expression was extremely low in stonyhard peaches. PpACS2 or PpACS3, however, was not detected in all five cultivars. Interestingly, cold treatment significantly decreased firmness along with endo-PG expression obviously upregulated in ‘Yumyeong', but not in ‘Xiacui' peaches. In conclusion, this study revealed that fruit softening of peaches with different flesh textures was closely related to ethylene biosynthesis during the storage period, which was controlled via regulating relevant gene expression levels under different storage temperatures. | YANG Yong MA Ruijuan ZHANG Binbin SONG Zhizhong ZHANG Chunhua GUO Shaolei YU Mingliang | 2016 | Horticultural Plant Journal2016,2,2: | 7
Intelligent identification of two-dimensional nanostructures by machine-learning optical microscopy显示文摘Two-dimensional (2D)materials and their heterostructures, with wafer-scale synthesis methods and fascinating properties, have attracted significant interest and triggered revolutions in corresponding device applications. However, facile methods to realize accurate, intelligent, and large-area characterizations of these 2D nanostructures are still highly desired.Herein,we report the successful application of machine-learning strategy in the optical identification of 2D nanostructures. The machine-leaming optical identification (MOI)method endows optical microscopy with intelligent insight into the characteristic color information of 2D nanostructures in the optical photograph. The experimental results indicate that the MOI method enables accurate, intelligent, and large-area characterizations of graphene, molybdenum disulfide, and their heterostructures, including identifications of the thickness, existence of impurities, and even stacking order. With the convergence of artificial intelligence and nanoscience, this intelligent identification method can certainly promote fundamental research and wafer-scale device applications of 2D nanostructures. | Xiaoyang Lin Zhizhong Si Wenzhi Fu Jianlei Yang Side Guo Yuan Cao Jin Zhang Xinhe Wang Peng Liu Kaili Jiang Weisheng Zhao | 2018 | Nano Research2018,11,12: | 5
Biodegradable metals for bone defect repair:A systematic review and meta-analysis based on animal studies显示文摘Biodegradable metals are promising candidates for bone defect repair. With an evidence-based approach, this study investigated and analyzed the performance and degradation properties of biodegradable metals in animal models for bone defect repair to explore their potential clinical translation.Animal studies on bone defect repair with biodegradable metals in comparison with other traditional biomaterials were reviewed.Data was carefully collected after identification of population, intervention, comparison, outcome, and study design(PICOS),and following the inclusion criteria of biodegradable metals in animal studies.30 publications on pure Mg,Mg alloys, pure Zn and Zn alloys were finally included after extraction from a collected database of 2543 publications.A qualitative systematic review and a quantitative meta-analysis were performed.Given the heterogeneity in animal model, anatomical site and critical size defect(CSD),biodegradable metals exhibited mixed effects on bone defect repair and degradation in animal studies in comparison with traditional non-degradable metals, biodegradable polymers, bioceramics, and autogenous bone grafts. The results indicated that there were limitations in the experimental design of the included studies, and quality of the evidence presented by the studies was very low.To enhance clinical translation of biodegradable metals,evidence-based research with data validity is needed.Future studies should adopt standardized experimental protocols in investigating the effects of biodegradable metals on bone defect repair with animal models. | Jiazhen Zhang Yanbiao Jiang Zhizhong Shang Bing Zhao Mingyue Jiao Wenbo Liu Maobo Cheng Bao Zhai Yajuan Guo Bin Liu Xinli Shi Bin Ma | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,11: | 5
Web-based visualization of spatial objects in 3DGIS显示文摘Adaptive rendering large and complex spatial data has become an important research issue in a 3DGIS application. In order to transmit the data to the client efficiently, this paper proposes a node-layer data model to manage the 3D scene. Because the large spatial data and limited network bandwidth are the main bottlenecks of web-based 3DGIS,a client/server architecture including progressive transmission methods and multiresolution representations, together with the spatial index, are developed to improve the performance. All this makes the application quite scalable. Experimental results reveal that the application works appropriately. | ZHANG LiQiang GUO ZhiFeng KANG ZhiZhong ZHANG LiXin ZHANG XingMing YANG Ling | 2009 | Science in China(Series F)2009,52,9: | 5
The role of personality, social economic and prevention strategy effects on health-related quality of life among people living with HIV/AIDS显示文摘Background::HIV/AIDS has transformed into a chronic controllable but not yet curable infectious disease as other chronic diseases to some extent. The additional of so called fourth 90%that included the improved health-related quality of life(HRQoL)for people living with HIV(PLWHIV)required solutions beyond antiretroviral therapy and viral load suppression. This study will explore the role of personality, social economic and prevention strategy effection on HRQoL among people living with HIV/AIDS.Methods::A cross-sectional study was conducted among PLWHIV aged more than 16 years old in the 10 municipalities in Yunnan Province,China from October 2019 to May 2020,enrolling total 1997 participants.Individual-level HRQoL data were measured by 12-item Short Form Health Survey(SF-12)and EuroQol Five Dimensions Questionnaire(EQ-5D-5L).We assembled municipal-level data about social economic from Yunnan Statistical Yearbook in 2020 and strategy practice information from the self-evaluation system. We used the principal component analysis to build the social economic and strategy effect on each area respectively and one-way ANOVA was used to perform univariate analysis to identify the predictors with significant differences. Finally we used multi-level model(MLM)to explore the personality, social economic and strategy effects in health-related quality of life among PLWHIV.Results::The global score for quality of life measured using EQ-5D-5L had an estimated mean score(standard deviation,SD)of 0.901±0.146.The HRQoL score measured using PCS-12 had an estimated mean score(SD)of 46.62±8.55.The mean MCS-12 score(SD)was estimated to be 47.80±9.71.The area-level predictors explained a proportion of 13.6-17.2%for the between-area variation of the HRQoL scores, regardless of the total HRQoL,physical component and mental component. The impacts of stigma(P<0.01),social support(P<0.001),anxiety(P<0.001),depression(P<0.05)and social economic status(P<0.05)on HRQoL at the individual-level were significantly different. The plots visualized the impact of individual-level factors on a respondent’s HRQoL was modified by the area-level characteristics.Conclusions::The study identified the possible strategy determinant of individual HRQoL of PLWHIV and also the area effect on HRQoL.Stigma, social support, anxiety, depression and social economic status were the individual-level determinants on HRQoL.These could be a valuable resource for evaluating the overall health of the areas and help improve local decision making. | Xiaowen Wang Hongbing Luo Enlong Yao RenhaiTang Wenbin Dong Fuyong Liu Jun Liang Huilan Li Minyang Xiao Zuyang Zhang Jin Niu Lijun Song Liru Fu Xuehua Li Shicong Qian Qing Guo Zhizhong Song | 2021 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2021,10,4: | 3

Controllable Preparation and Superior Rate Performance of Spinel LiMn2O4 Hollow Microspheresas Cathode Material for Lithium-ion Batteries显示文摘Spinel Li Mn_2O_4 microspheres and hollow microspheres with adjustable wall thickness have been prepared using controllable oxidation of Mn CO3 microspheres precursors and following solid reactions with lithium salts. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) investigations demonstrate that the microsphere morphology and hollow structure of precursors are inherited. The effect of hollow structure properties of as-prepared Li Mn_2O_4 on their performance as cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries has been studied. Electrochemical performance tests show that Li Mn_2O_4 hollow microspheres with small wall thickness exhibit both superior rate capability and better cycle performance than Li Mn_2O_4 solid microspheres and Li Mn_2O_4 hollow microspheres with thick wall. The Li Mn_2O_4 hollow microspheres with thin wall have discharge capacity of 132.7 m A·h·g-1 at C/10(14.8 m A·g-1) in the first cycle, 94.1% capacity retention at C/10 after 40 cycles and discharge capacity of 116.5 m Ah·g-1 at a high rate of 5C. The apparent lithium-ion diffusion coefficient(Dapp) of as-prepared Li Mn_2O_4 determined by capacity intermittent titration technique(CITT) varies from 10-11 to 10-8.5 cm2·s-1 showing a regular 'W' shape curve plotted with test voltages. The Dapp of Li Mn_2O_4 hollow microspheres with thin wall has the largest value among all the prepared samples. Both the superior rate capability and cycle stability of Li Mn_2O_4 hollow microspheres with thin wall can be ascribed to the facile ion diffusion in the hollow structures and the robust of hollow structures during repeated cycling. | 王诗瑶 肖亮 guo yonglin deng bohua qu deyu xie zhizhong | 2016 | Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2016,31,3: | 1

High-throughput“read-on-ski”automated imaging and label-free detection system for toxicity screening of compounds using personalised human kidney organoids显示文摘Organoid models are used to study kidney physiology, such as the assessment of nephrotoxicity and underlying disease processes.Personalized human pluripotent stem cell-derived kidney organoids are ideal models for compound toxicity studies, but there is a need to accelerate basic and translational research in the field. Here,we developed an automated continuous imaging setup with the“read-on-ski”law of control to maximize temporal resolution with minimum culture plate vibration.High-accuracy performance was achieved:organoid screening and imaging were performed at a spatial resolution of 1.1µm for the entire multi-well plate under 3 min.We used the in-house developed multi-well spinning device and cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity model to evaluate the toxicity in kidney organoids using this system. The acquired images were processed via machine learning-based classification and segmentation algorithms, and the toxicity in kidney organoids was determined with 95%accuracy.The results obtained by the automated“read-on-ski”imaging device, combined with label-free and non-invasive algorithms for detection, were verified using conventional biological procedures.Taking advantage of the close-to-in vivo-kidney organoid model, this new development opens the door for further application of scaled-up screening using organoids in basic research and drug discovery. | Qizheng WANG Jun LU Ke FAN Yiwei XU Yucui XIONG Zhiyong SUN Man ZHAI Zhizhong ZHANG Sheng ZHANG Yan SONG Jianzhong LUO Mingliang YOU Meijin GUO Xiao ZHANG | 2022 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2022,23,7: | 0
| 20 | Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector. Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements, such as its low-energy threshold, high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors, and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors. In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable, assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition, approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected. This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter, which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle. Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better, depending on the central value, and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment.
