| 2 | First report on Guanshan Biota(Cambrian Stage 4) at the stratotype area of Wulongqing Formation in Malong County, Eastern Yunnan, China显示文摘Exceptionally preserved fossils,such as those from Cambrian Burgess Shale-type fossil-Lagerstatten are critical because of their unique contributions to knowledge of the phylogenetic radiation and palaeoecological expansion of metazoans during the Cambrian explosion.Critically,these deposits provide information that is usually unobtainable from shelly and skeletonized fossils alone.The Guanshan Biota(Cambrian Series 2,Stage 4)in the Yunnan Province of South China,has produced abundant and diverse,exquisitely preserved fossils that often retain soft tissues and organs.To date,most fossils from the Guanshan Biota have been collected from localities such as Gaoloufang and Gangtoucun,which have become inaccessible due to new urban expansions and constructions of residential buildings.Here we present the first report of soft bodied fossils from a new section at Kanfuqing,close to the Wulongqing village in Malong County,approximately 3 km east of the Wulongqing Formation stratotype section.Fossils retain soft morphology,and include brachiopods with delicate marginal setae,priapulids with well-preserved sclerites and vetulicolians with entire sections of body.In addition,this fauna includes rare occurrences of trilobites preserved with soft tissues replicated as pyrite pseudomorphs after weathering.This discovery represents an important palaeogeographical extension of soft-bodied fossils of the Guanshan fauna to the east of the Xiaojiang Fault(related to Tsinning tectonic movements ca.700 Ma).The fauna from the new Kanfuqing section is similar to that reported from the Wulongqing Formation west of the Xiaojiang Fault,and thus has significant implications for early Cambrian palaeogeography,faunal successions and palaeoenvironments of eastern Yunnan. | Feiyang Chen Zhifei Zhang Marissa J. | 5 | Rice Glucose 6-Phosphate/Phosphate Translocator 1 is required for tapetum function and pollen development显示文摘In plants, non-green plastids in heterotrophic tissues are sites for starch and fatty acids biosynthesis,which are essential for plant development and reproduction. Distinct from chloroplasts, the metabolites for these processes in non-green plastids have to be imported through specific transporters. Glucose 6-Phosphate/Phosphate Translocator 1 is required for the uptake of cytosolic Glucose 6-Phosphate into non-green plastids. In Arabidopsis, GPT1 has been demonstrated to play essential roles in male, female gametophyte and embryo development. However, the roles of GPTs in other species are yet largely unknown. Here, we reported that rice OsGPT1 is indispensable for normal tapetal degeneration and pollen exine formation during anther and pollen development. OsGPT1 is localized in the plastid and distributed in the anther wall layers and late-stage pollen grains. Different from the gametic defects caused by mutation in At GPT1, disruption of OsGPT1 does not affect male and female gamete transmission as well as embryo development. On the contrary, osgpt1 mutant exhibits delayed tapetum degeneration,decreased Ubisch bodies formation and thinner pollen exine, leading to pollen abortion at the mature stage. Furthermore, the expression of several genes involved in tapetal programmed cell death(PCD)and sporopollenin formation is decreased in osgpt1. | 6 | Follicular hyperandrogenism and insulin resistance in polycystic ovary syndrome patients with normal circulating testosterone levels显示文摘Polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS) is a common reproductive disease with high heterogeneity. The role of excess androgen in PCOS etiology remains disputed, since around 20%-50% of PCOS women do not display hyperandrogenemia. The microenvironment of the ovary critically influences follicular development. In the present study, we assessed the role of androgen in PCOS by investigating whether excessive follicular fluid androgen was present in PCOS patients with normal serum androgen levels and influenced by follicular fluid insulin resistance(IR).Follicular fluid samples of 105 women with PCOS and 105 controls were collected. Levels of steroid hormones,glucose and insulin in the follicular fluid were examined and compared with data from serum biochemistry tests. We found that 64.9%(63/97) of PCOS patients with normal serum androgen levels displayed abnormally high follicular fluid androgen level. The follicular fluid androgen level was positively correlated with follicular fluid IR within a certain range and follicular fluid estrogen-to-testosterone(E2/T) ratio was significantly reduced in these patients.These results indicated that there existed a subgroup of PCOS patients who displayed excessive follicular fluid androgen and IR despite their normal circulating testosterone(T) levels. | 7 | Mechanism of Affecting the Performance and Stability of an Axial Flow Compressor with Inlet Distortion显示文摘The purpose of the investigation is to obtain the mechanism of affecting the performance and stability of an axial flow compressor with two kinds of multi distortion area.In the investigation,the compressor inlet distortion is made by the distortion generator,which is a column and is placed in the compressor rotor passage upstream.The five-passages unsteady numerical results show that the compressor performances for two kinds of multi distortion area are both lower than that for the clean inlet,and the compressor peak efficiencies for inlet distortions of 6×12 degrees and 6×24 degrees are about 3.5%,and 9.2%lower than that for the clean inlet,respectively.Further,two kinds of multi distortion area both reduce the compressor stability,and the stall margin improvements of–2.93%and–6.11%are provided by inlet distortions of 6×12 degrees and 6×24 degrees,respectively.The flow field analyses show that the flow conditions of the rotor tip inlet upstream deteriorate after the application of multi distortion area.The values of axial velocity and flow angle of incoming flows in some regions,which are near the shroud,become small due to the adverse effect made by the inlet distortion.So,the circulation capacity of the regions becomes low,and inlet blockages appear in some rotor tip passages.The bigger the distorted range is,the greater inlet blockages and corresponding flow losses are.When multi distortion area changes from 6×12 degrees to 6×24 degrees,there are obvious separations of the boundary layer near the blade suction surface in some blade tip passages,and the serious separations prevent the incoming flows from entering the blade tip passage.As a result,overflows occur at the leading edge of the blade tip.Furthermore,as the number of the distortion generator increases by a factor of one,the effects of inlet distortion on the amplitudes of the air relative velocity and static pressure in the rotor inlet upstream at the distortion generator passing frequency of 1076.5 Hz increase by a factor of about one. | ZHANG Haoguang LI Qi DONG Feiyang CHU Wuli | 2021 | Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,4: | 2 |

| 16 | Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector.Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements,such as its low-energy threshold,high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors,and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors.In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable,assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition,approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected.This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter,which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle.Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better,depending on the central value,and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of
