2Mooring observations of internal solitary waves in the deep basin west of Luzon Strait显示文摘A total of 137 internal solitary waves(ISWs) are captured during a field experiment conducted in the deep basin west of the Luzon Strait(LS) from March to August, 2010. Mooring observations reveal that a fully developed ISW owns a maximum westward velocity of more than 1.8 m/s and an amplitude of about 200 m. The ISWs in the South China Sea(SCS) are most active in July, which may be due to the strong stratification in summer. Most of the ISW episodes are detected around and after the 1st or 15th lunar day, indicating that the ISW in the SCS is triggered by astronomic tides. Half part of the observed ISWs were detected around 19:00 local time, which can be explained by the fact that type-a ISWs emerged in the evening at roughly the same time each day. The propagation direction of the ISWs and the astronomic tides in the LS show that the area south of the Batan Island is probably the main source region of the type-a ISWs, while the area south of Itbayat Island and south of the Batan Island is likely the main source region of the type-b ISWs observed at the mooring. 5Application of chemical fractionation and X-ray powder diffraction to study phosphorus speciation in sediments from Lake Hongfeng,China显示文摘Based on the techniques of sequential extraction and X-ray powder diffraction(XRD) ,the distribution characteristics of phosphorus speciation were investigated in 13 sediment samples from Lake Hongfeng,an important drinking water source for Guiyang with a typical karstic limestone environment.The total phosphorus(TP) concentrations in the sediments ranged from 973.36 to 2334.18 mg/kg with a mean concentration of 1635.87 mg/kg(dry weight) ,and it was evident that the phosphorus level in the sediments was high compared with other eutrophic lakes such as Lake Chaohu and Lake Xihu.The results of the two methods,sequential extraction and XRD,demonstrated the presence of different phosphorus species in the lake sediments.Being compatible with local geophysical characteristics,the results of sequential extraction techniques indicate that the average percentages of dissolved phosphorus(DP) ,aluminum-bound phosphorus(Al-P) ,iron-bound phosphorus(Fe-P) ,calcium-bound phosphorus(Ca-P) and organic phosphorus(OP) in the sediments were 0.40%,7.06%,5.07%,45.48%and 38.49%,respectively.Notably,the concentrations of inorganic phosphorus(IP) were higher than those of OP,and the IP consisted primarily of Ca-P.The high concentrations of Ca-P may temporarily control the release of phosphorus from the sediments because it is a relatively stable,inert and non-bioavailable phosphorus fraction.The results of XRD analysis indicated that,among phosphorus species,AlPO4 was found in all sediment samples at relatively high concentrations.Moreover,the TP concentrations in the sediments were high;thus the release potential and bioavailability of phosphorus in the sediments was important.Further statistical analyses of the results revealed significant correlations between phosphorus species in the sediments with two extractable principal components and four selectable cluster levels allowing interpretation of possible origins of phosphorus loading and transformation mechanisms of phosphorus species.Furthermore,available remediation measures were briefly assessed for the lake while considering its distinct environmental features.JIANG CuiHong WU Di HU JiWei LIU Feng HUANG XianFei LI CunXiong JIN Mei 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,20:9

7Comparison of efficacy, safety, and quality of life between sorafenib and sunitinib as first.line therapy for Chinese patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma显示文摘Background: Sorafenib and sunitinib are widely used as first-line targeted therapy for metastatic renal cell carcinoma(mRCC) in China.This study aimed to compare the efficacy, safety, and quality of life(QoL) in Chinese mRCC patients treated with sorafenib and sunitinib as first-line therapy.Methods: Clinical data of patients with mRCC who received sorafenib(400 mg twice daily; 4 weeks) or sunitinib(50 mg twice daily; on a schedule of 4 weeks on treatment followed by 2 weeks off) were retrieved. Primary outcomes were overall survival(OS), progression-free survival(PFS), adverse events(AEs), and QoL(SF-36 scores), and secondary outcomes were associations of clinical characteristics with QoL.Results: Medical records of 184 patients(110 in the sorafenib group and 74 in the sunitinib group) were reviewed.PFS and OS were comparable between the sorafenib and sunitinib groups(both P > 0.05).The occurrence rates of leukocytopenia, thrombocytopenia, and hypothyroidism were higher in the sunitinib group(36.5% vs. 10.9%,P< 0.001; 40.5% vs. 10.9%, P < 0.001; 17.6% vs. 3.6%, P = 0.001), and that of diarrhea was higher in the sorafenib group(62.7% vs. 35.2%, P < 0.001). There was no significant difference in SF-36 scores between the two groups. Multivariate analysis indicated that role-physical and bodily pain scores were associated with the occurrence rate of grade 3 or 4 AEs(P = 0.017 and 0.005).Conclusions: Sorafenib has comparable efficacy and lower toxicity profile than sunitinib as first-line therapy for mRCC. 8LSD1 inhibition suppresses the growth of clear cell renal cell carcinoma via upregulating P21signaling显示文摘Histone lysine-specific demethylase 1(LSD1) has been implicated in the disease progression of several types of solid tumors. This study provides the first evidence showing that LSD1 overexpression occurred in 62.6%(224/358) of clear cell renal cell carcinomas(ccRCC). LSD1 expression was associated with the progression of ccRCC, as indicated by TNM stage(P ? 0.006), especially tumor stage(P ? 0.017) and lymph node metastasis(P ? 0.030). High LSD1 expression proved to be an independent prognostic factor for poor overall survival(Po0.001) and recurrence-free survival(Po0.001) of ccRCC patients. We further show that LSD1 inhibition by siRNA knockdown or using the small molecule inhibitor SP2509 suppressed the growth of ccRCC in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, inhibition of LSD1 decreased the H3 K4 demethylation at the CDKN1 A gene promoter, which was associated with P21 upregulation and cell cycle arrest at G1/S in ccRCC cells. 10Self-transforming ultrathin α-Co(OH)2 nanosheet arrays from metal-organic framework modified graphene oxide with sandwichlike structure for efficient electrocatalytic oxygen evolution显示文摘Developing efficient and low-cost electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction(OER)with high electrochemical activity and durability for diverse renewable and sustainable energy technologies remains challenging.Herein,an ultrasonic-assisted and coordination modulation strategy is developed to construct sandwich-like metal-organic framework(MOF)derived hydroxide nanosheet(NS)arrays/graphene oxide(GO)composite via one-step self-transformation route.Inducing from unsteady state,the dodecahedral ZIF-67 with Co^2+in tetrahedral coordination auto-converts into defect-rich ultrathin layered hydroxides with the interlayered ion NO3-.The self-transforming a-Co(OH)2/GO nanosheet arrays from ZIF-67(Co(OH)2-GNS)change the coordination mode of Co^2+and bring about the exposure of more metal active sites,thereby enhancing the spatial utilization ratio within the framework.As monometal-based electrocatalyst,the optimized Co(OH)2-GNS exhibits remarkable OER catalytic performance evidenced by a low overpotential of 259 mV to achieve a current density of 10 mA·cm-2 in alkaline medium,even exceeding commercial RuO2.During the oxygen evolution process,electron migration can be accelerated by the interfacial/in-plane charge polarization and local electric field,corroborated by the off-axis electron holography.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations further studied the collaboration between ultrathin Co(OH)2 NS and GO,which leads to lower energy barriers of intermediate products and greatly promotes electrocatalytic property.Mengqiu Huang Weiwei Liu Lei Wang Jiwei Liu Guanyu Chen Wenbin You Jie Zhang Lijun Yuan Xuefeng Zhang Renchao Che 2020Nano Research2020,13,3:4

13A Multi-queue Approach of Energy Efficient Task Scheduling for Sensor Hubs显示文摘With the emergence of Internet of things(IoT), sensor hubs, which integrate data from different sensors, play increasingly important role. Energy efficiency is one of the most important issues for sensor hubs.To attack this challenge, this paper proposes a task scheduling scheme for sensor hubs to improve their energy efficiency. A multi-queue-based framework is designed, and its theoretical model and the corresponding mathematical analyses are presented. 14Shoaling of the internal solitary waves over the continental shelf of the northern South China Sea显示文摘The activities of internal solitary waves(ISWs) over the continental shelf of the northern South China Sea(SCS)are of high complexity. In this study, we investigated the spatial-temporal characteristics of the shoaling ISWs over the northern SCS continental shelf using the satellite images and the results of numerical simulation. The examination of the ISW signals in the satellite optical images revealed the existence of three types of ISWs in the region north to the Dongsha Island, namely, mode-1 depression ISW, mode-1 elevation ISW, and mode-2 convex ISW. The geographical distributions of these ISWs were derived from the satellite images. Numerical results exhibited the process of polarity conversion of ISWs, by which mode-1 elevation waves were transformed from the shoaling mode-1 depression waves. 15A Stochastic Approach of Dependency Evaluation for IoT Devices显示文摘Internet of things(Io T) is an emerging technique that offers advanced connectivity of devices, systems, services, and human beings. With the rapid development of hardware and network technologies, the Io T can refer to a wide variety and large number of devices, resulting in complex relationships among Io T devices. The dependencies among Io T devices, which reflect their relationships, are with reference value for the design, development and management of Io T devices. This paper proposes a stochastic model based approach for evaluating the dependencies of Io T devices. A random walk model is proposed to describe the relationships of Io T devices, and its corresponding Markov chain is obtained for dependency analysis. A framework as well as schemes and algorithms for dependency evaluation in real-world Io T are designed based on traffic measurement. 16Association of post.treatment hypoalbuminemia and survival in Chinese patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma显示文摘Background:Hypoalbuminemia adversely affects the clinical outcomes of various cancers.The purpose of this study was to estimate the prognostic value of hypoalbuminemia 3-5 weeks after treatment in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma(mRCC) who received sorafenib or sunitinib as first-line treatment.Methods:In this single-center,retrospective study,we assessed the progression-free survival(PFS) and overall survival(OS) of 184 mRCC patients who received first-line sorafenib or sunitinib treatment.PFS and OS were compared between patients with post-treatment hypoalbuminemia(post-treatment albumin level <36.4 g/L) and those with normal post-treatment albumin level(albumin level≥36.4 g/L).The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center(MSKCC)risk model stratified mRCC patients into three risk categories.Prognostic values of all patient characteristics including MSKCC risk category were determined by using univariate and multivariate Cox regression models.Prognostic value was further determined using the Harrell concordance index and receiver operating characteristic curve analysis.Results:The median PFS and OS of the 184 patients were 11 months(95%confidence interval[CI]9-12 months)and 23 months(95%CI 19-33 months),respectively.Patients with post-treatment hypoalbuminemia had significantly shorter median PFS(6 months[95%CI 5-7 months]) and OS(11 months[95%CI 9-15 months]) than patients who had normal post-treatment albumin levels(PFS:12 months[95%CI 11-16 months],P < 0.001;OS:31 months[95%CI24-42 months],P < 0.001),respectively.Multivariate analysis showed that post-treatment hypoalbuminemia was an independent predictor of PFS(hazard ratio[HR],2.113;95%CI 1.390-3.212;P < 0.001) and OS(HR,2.388;95%CI 1.591-3.585;P < 0.001).Post-treatment hypoalbuminemia could also be combined with the MSKCC risk category for better prediction about OS.The model that included post-treatment hypoalbuminemia and MSKCC risk category improved the predictive accuracy for PFS and OS(c-index:0.68 and 0.73,respectively) compared with the basic MSKCC risk model(c-index:0.67 and 0.70,respectively).The prognostic values for PFS and OS of the integrated MSKCC risk model involving post-treatment hypoalbuminemia were significantly more accurate than the basic MSKCC risk model using likelihood ratio analysis(both P < 0.001).Conclusions:Post-treatment hypoalbuminemia can be considered an independent prognostic factor for patients with mRCC who undergo first-line treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors.Additionally,integrating post-treatment serum albumin level into the basic MSKCC risk model can improve the accuracy of this model in predicting patient overall survival and progression-free survival.Wen Cai Jin Zhang Yonghui Chen Wen Kong Yiran Huang Jiwei Huang Lixin Zhou 2017Chinese Journal of Cancer2017,36,7:3

19Modeling and Analysis of Data Dependencies in Business Process for Data-Intensive Services显示文摘With the growing popularity of data-intensive services on the Internet, the traditional process-centric model for business process meets challenges due to the lack of abilities to describe data semantics and dependencies, resulting in the inflexibility of the design and implement for the processes. This paper proposes a novel data-aware business process model which is able to describe both explicit control flow and implicit data flow. Data model with dependencies which are formulated by Linear-time Temporal Logic(LTL) is presented, and their satisfiability is validated by an automaton-based model checking algorithm. Data dependencies are fully considered in modeling phase, which helps to improve the efficiency and reliability of programming during developing phase. We propose an effective approach for energy reduction, by dynamic speed scaling and task scheduling simultaneously. Markov models for distributed computing systems are proposed, and detailed analyses of the models are provided. Markov decision processes(MDP) are applied for problem formulation, and MDP algorithms for obtaining the optimal solutions are introduced.
