1Aqueous extract of Taxus Chinensis (Pilger) Rehd inhibits lung carcinoma A549 cells through the epidermal growth factor receptor/mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway in vitro and in vivo显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To explore the anticancer mechanismof aqueous extract of Taxus Chinensis (Pilger) Rehd (AETC).METHODS: The serum pharmacological method was used to avoid interference from administration of the crude medicinal herbs. Eight purebred New Zealand rabbits were used for preparation of serum containing various concentrations of AETC. Forty-eightBalb/c-nu mice were used for in vivo experiments. The effects of serum containing AETC on the proliferation of A549 cells and expression levels of the epidermal growth factor receptor/mitogen-activated protein kinase(EGFR/MAPK) pathway-related proteins in vitro were investigated. Additionally, the effects on the growth of A549 xenografts in nudemice,and expression levels of the EGFR/MAPK pathway-related proteins in the xenografts,were investigated.RESULTS: 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide(MTT) assay revealed that the serum containing AETC significantly decreased the viability of A549 cells in a dose-dependent manner.Western blot showed that the serum containing various concentrations of AETC strongly reduced the levels of phospho-Jun N-terminal kinase(p-JNK) and phospho-extracellular signal-regulated kinase1/2(ERK1/2) while it increased the level of p-p38. However, no significant effects on the expression levels of JNK, ERK1/2, and p38 MAPK were found. In addition, an anticancer effect from AETC was observed invivo in the Balb/c-nu mice bearing A549xenografts.CONCLUSION: AETC has significant effects on the growth of A549 xenografts and on the activity of the EGFR/MAPK pathway. 4Proteasomal deubiquitinase UCH37 inhibits degradation of β-catenin and promotes cell proliferation and motility显示文摘The ubiquitin–proteasome system degrades most cellular proteins in eukaryotes.UCH37,also known as UCH-L5,is a deubiquitinase binding to Rpn13,a receptor for ubiquitinated substrates in the 26 S proteasome.But,it remains unclear how UCH37 influences the proteasomal degradation of the ubiquitinated substrates.Because deletion of UCH37 is embryonically lethal in mice,this study aims to investigate the role of UCH37 in proteasomal degradation by constructing the UCH37-deficient cell lines using CRISPR/Cas9 technology.Our results demonstrated that deletion of UCH37 decreased the levels of proteasomal Rpn13,implying that UCH37 might facilitate incorporation of Rpn13 into the proteasome.Meanwhile,deletion of UCH37 decreased the levels of β-catenin and the early endosomal protein Rab8.β-Catenin interacts with TCF/LEF to control transcription,and is involved in development,tissue homeostasis and tumorigenesis.We further found that deletion of UCH37 increased the levels of the ubiquitinated β-catenin and accelerated the hydrogen peroxide-stimulated degradation of β-catenin.Deletion of UCH37 also down-regulated the transcription of c-Myc,a downstream effector of β-catenin,and inhibited cell proliferation and motility.These results raise the possibility that UCH37 maintains the homeostasis of proteasomal degradation reciprocally by assisting the recruitment of the ubiquitin receptor Rpn13 into the proteasome and by reversing ubiquitination of certain critical substrates of the 26 S proteasome.Zijian Li Luming Zhou Tianxia Jiang Libin Fan Xiaoying Liu Xiaobo Qiu 2019Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,3:4
5The adaptive strategies of yaks to live in the Asian highlands显示文摘The yak(Bos grunniens),an indigenous herbivore raised at altitudes between 3,000 and 5,000 m above sea level,is closely linked to more than 40 ethnic communities and plays a vital role in the ecological stability,livelihood security,socio-economic development,and ethnic cultural traditions in the Asian highlands.They provide the highlanders with meat,milk,fibres,leather and dung(fuel).They are also used as pack animals to transport goods,for travel and ploughing,and are important in many religious and traditional ceremonies.The Asian highlands are known for an extremely,harsh environment,namely low air temperature and oxygen content and high ultraviolet light and winds.Pasture availability fluctuates greatly,with sparse pasture of poor quality over the long seven-month cold winter.After longterm natural and artificial selections,yaks have adapted excellently to the harsh conditions:1)by genomics,with positively selected genes involved in hypoxia response and energy metabolism;2)anatomically,including a short tongue with a weak sense of taste,and large lung and heart;3)physiologically,by insensitivity to hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction,maintaining foetal haemoglobin throughout life,and low heart rate and heat production in the cold season;4)behaviourlly,by efficient grazing and selecting forbs with high nutritional contents;5)by low nitrogen and energy requirements for maintenance and low methane emission and nitrogen excretion,namely,‘Low-Carbon’and‘Nitrogen-Saving’traits;6)by harboring unique rumen microbiota with a distinct maturation pattern,that has coevolved with host metabolism.This review aims to provide an overview of the comprehensive adaptive strategies of the yak to the severe conditions of the highlands.A better understanding of these strategies that yaks employ to adapt to the harsh environment could be used in improving their production,breeding and management,and gaining benefits in ecosystem service and a more resilient livelihood to climate change in the Asian highlands.Xiaoping Jing Luming Ding Jianwei Zhou Xiaodan Huang Allan Degen Ruijun Long 2022Animal Nutrition2022,,2:2
6Ultrahigh rate capability of 1D/2D polyaniline/titanium carbide(MXene)nanohybrid for advanced asymmetric supercapacitors显示文摘High energy density and enhanced rate capability are highly sought-after for supercapacitors in today's mobile world.In this work,polyaniline/titanium carbide(MXene)(PANI/Ti3C2Tx)nanohybrid is synthesized through a facile and cost-effective self-assembly of.one-dimensional(10)PANI nanofibers and two-dimensional(20)Ti3C2Tx nanosheets.PANl!Ti3C2Tx delivers greatly improved specific capacitance,ultrahigh rate capability(67%capacitance retention from 1 to 100 A·g^(-1))as well as good cycle stability.Electrochemical kinetic analysis reveals that PANI/Ti3C2Tx is featured with surface capacitance-dominated process and has a quasi-reversible kinetics at high scan rates,giving rise to an ultrahigh rate capability.By using PANl!Ti3C2Tx as positive electrode,an 1.8 V aqueous asymmetric supercapacitor(ASC)is successfully assembled,showing a maximum energy density of 50.8 Wh·kg^(-1)·(at 0.9 kW-kg-1)and a power density of 18 kW·kg^(-1)(at 26 Wh·kg^(-1)).Moreover,an 3.0 V organic ASC is also elaborately fabricated,·by using PANI/Ti3C2Tx,achieving an ultrahigh energy density of 67.2 Wh·kg^(-1)(at 1.5 kW·kg^(-1))and a power density of 30 kW·kg^(-1)·(at 26.8 Wh·kg^(-1)).The present work not only improves fundamental understanding of the structure-property relationship towards ultrahigh rate capability electrode materials,but also provides valuable guideline for the rational design of high-performance:energy storage devices with both high energy and power densities.Jinhua Zhou Qi Kang Shuchi Xu Xiaoge Li Cong Liu Lu Ni Ningna Chen Chunliang Lu Xizhang Wang Luming Peng Xuefeng Guo Weiping Ding Wenhua Hou 2022Nano Research2022,15,1:2
7Electrical resistivity-temperature characteristics enhancement of insulating cross-linked polyethylene composites by incorporating positive temperature coefficient particles with different Curie temperatures显示文摘Incorporating positive temperature coefficient(PTC)ceramic particles into polymers provides a prospective alternative solution for suppressing severe electric field distortions caused by negative temperature coefficient(NTC)of electrical resistivity within polymer insulation in high voltage direct current cable.The effect of the Curie temperature of PTC particles on the inhibition of the NTC effect of cross-linked polyethylene(XLPE)is investigated in this study.Positive temperature coefficient particles with varied Curie temperatures are surface-modified and melt blending with XLPE.The modified particles are dispersed on averagely in the matrix.The electrical resistivity,space charge behaviour,and direct current(DC)electrical breakdown strength of the samples are investigated at different temperatures,exploring the effect of the Curie temperature of PTC particles on suppressing the NTC effect of XLPE.It is demonstrated that the reduction in Curie temperature can further suppress the NTC effect of XLPE,enhance the DC strength at elevated temperatures,and inhibit the internal space charge accumulation.The reduction in the Curie temperatures means that the initiation of the PTC effect advances,exhibiting a higher potential barrier and inhibiting the NTC effect more effectively.This work may give a reference for improving the temperature stability of DC properties for XLPE cable insulation.Guimin Jiang Yuanxiang Zhou Chenyuan Teng Yunxiao Zhang Xin Huang Lei Xue Luming Zhou 2023High Voltage2023,8,1:2
8Mechanism of micro-wetting of highly hydrophobic coal dust in underground mining and new wetting agent development显示文摘The internal mechanism of the high hydrophobicity of the coal samples from the Pingdingshan mining area was studied through industrial,element,and surface functional group analysis.Laboratory testing and molecular dynamics simulations were employed to study the impact of three types of surfactants on the surface adsorption properties and wettability of highly hydrophobic bituminous coal.The results show that the surface of highly hydrophobic bituminous coal is compact,rich in inorganic minerals,and poorly wettable and that coal molecules are dominated by hydrophobic functional groups of aromatic rings and aliphatic structures.The wetting performance of surfactants as the intermediate carrier to connect coal and water molecules is largely determined by the interaction force between surfactants and coal(Fs-c)and the interaction force between surfactants and water(Fs-w),which effectively improve the wettability of modified coal dust via modifying its surface electrical properties and surface energy.A new type of wetting agent with a dust removal rate of 89%has been developed through discovery of a compound wetting agent solution with optimal wetting and settling performance.This paper provides theoretical and technical support for removing highly hydrophobic bituminous coal dust in underground mining.Mingzhong Gao Hongmei Li Yun Zhao Yiting Liu Weiqi Zhou Luming Li Jing Xie Jie Deng 2023International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2023,33,1:2

13Rational design of 3D porous niobium carbide MXene/rGO hybrid aerogels as promising anode for potassium-ion batteries with ultrahigh rate capability显示文摘An effective method is designed to construct three-dimensional(3D)Nb_(2)C/reduced graphene oxide(rGO)hybrid aerogels through a low-temperature graphene oxide(GO)-assisted hydrothermal self-assembly followed by freeze-drying and annealing.The intimately coupled Nb_(2)C/rGO hybrid aerogel combines the advantages of large specific surface area and rich 3D interconnected porous structure of aerogel as well as high conductivity and low potassium diffusion energy barrier of Nb_(2)C,which not only effectively prevents the self-restacking of Nb2C nanosheets to allow more active sites exposed and accommodate the volume change during the charge/discharge process,but also increases the accessibility of electrolyte and promotes the rapid transfer of ions/electrons.As a result,Nb_(2)C/rGO-2 as the anode of potassium ion batteries(KIBs)delivers a large reversible specific capacity(301.7 mAh·g^(−1)after 500 cycles at 2.0 A·g^(−1)),an ultrahigh rate capability(155.5 mAh·g^(−1)at 20 A·g^(−1)),and an excellent long-term large-current cycle stability(198.8 mAh·g^(−1)after 1,000 cycles at 10 A·g^(−1),with a retention of 83.3%).Such a high-level electrochemical performance,especially the ultrahigh rate capability,is the best among transition metal carbides and nitride(MXene)-based materials reported so far for KIBs.The diffusion kinetics of K+is investigated thoroughly,and the synergetic charge–discharge mechanism and the structure–performance relationship of Nb_(2)C/rGO are revealed explicitly.The present work provides a good strategy to solve the self-restacking problem of two-dimensional materials and also enlarges the potential applications of MXenes.Cong Liu Zhitang Fang Xiaoge Li Jinhua Zhou Gang Yang Luming Peng Xuefeng Guo Weiping Ding Wenhua Hou 2023Nano Research2023,16,2:1

15Application of Nd:YAG Laser Welding to Implantable Neuro-Stimulator显示文摘It is difficult to weld the material and structure of implantable neuro-stimulator such as pure medical titanium and irregular outside shield by conventional arc welding methods.Currently there are few reports on the neuro stimulator sealing technology,and none of them have simultaneously considered the quality control methods.In order to develop the sealing procedure and quality control methods,an investigation of applying Nd:YAG laser welding to implantable neuro-stimulator components is carried out.Firstly,the automatic Nd:YAG laser welding system equipped with proper fixture configuration is introduced.A special fixture structure is illustrated and the key point for the device is to reduce the fit-up gap between the two shields.Then,a novel welding process technique is proposed to satisfy the engineering requirements.The optimized process parameters for titanium shell,feedthrough and fastener are provided and concluded by an orthogonal experiment.Finally,different quality control measures such as visual inspection,X-ray detecting and leakage testing,are presented on the final products.The results show that the Nd:YAG laser welding applied on the implanted neuro-stimulator under optimized parameters can prevent welding defects and improve the weld joints quality.Combination of various quality control methods will guarantee the sealing performance and mechanical properties of the products.It is confirmed that the processing procedure and quality methods can not only resolve the process technology on welding ultra-thin structure of medical device,but also provide the reference for other implantable device.ZHOU Zhenggan NI Xiansheng WEN Xiongwei LI Luming 2011Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2011,24,6:1

19A Hybrid Biofuel and Triboelectric Nanogenerator for Bioenergy Harvesting显示文摘Various types of energy exist everywhere around us,and these energies can be harvested from multiple sources to power micro-/nanoelectronic system and even personal electronic products.In this work,we proposed a hybrid energy-harvesting system(HEHS)for potential in vivo applications.The HEHS consisted of a triboelectric nanogenerator and a glucose fuel cell for simultaneously harvesting biomechanical energy and biochemical energy in simulated body fluid.These two energy-harvesting units can work individually as a single power source or work simultaneously as an integrated system.This design strengthened the flexibility of harvesting multiple energies and enhanced corresponding electric output.Compared with any individual device,the integrated HEHS outputs a superimposed current and has a faster charging rate.Using the harvested energy,HEHS can power a calculator or a green light-emitting diode pattern.Considering the widely existed biomechanical energy and glucose molecules in the body,the developed HEHS can be a promising candidate for building in vivo self-powered healthcare monitoring system.Hu Li Xiao Zhang Luming Zhao Dongjie Jiang Lingling Xu Zhuo Liu Yuxiang Wu Kuan Hu Ming‑Rong Zhang Jiangxue Wang Yubo Fan Zhou Li 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,4:0
