Size, composition, and mixing state of individual aerosol particles in a South China coastal city显示文摘Aerosol samples were collected in summer in Macao,a coastal city of the Pearl River Delta Region in China.Morphology, size, elemental composition, and mixing state of individual aerosol particles were determined by scanning electron microscopy coupled energy dispersive X-ray(SEM/EDX) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).Based on the morphologies of 5711 aerosol particles, they consist of soot(32%),mineral(17%),secondary(22%),and unknown fine particles(29%).The sizes of these particles were mostly distributed between 0.1 and 0.4 μm.Compositions of 202 mineral particles were obtained by SEM/EDX.Mineral particles were mainly classified into three types:Si-rich,Ca-rich,and Na-rich.The compositions of typical mineral particles can indicate their sources in sampling location. For example, mineral particles, collected along the main street, were associated with trace amounts of heavy metals, such as Zn,Ti,Mn,Ba,Pb,and As.TEM observations indicate that most Na-rich particles were aged sea salt particles(e.g.,Na2SO4 and NaNO3) which formed through heterogeneous chemical reactions between sea salt and acidic gases.Additionally, aging time of soot was short in Macao due to high humidity, high temperature, and high levels of sunlight in Macao. Most of soot and fine mineral dust particles were internally mixed with secondary particles. | Weijun Li Longyi Shao Zhishi Wang Rongrong Shen Shusheng Yang Uwa Tang | 2010 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,4: | 21

Fluid Inclusion and H-O Isotope Geochemistry of the Phapon Gold Deposit, NW Laos: Implications for Fluid Source and Ore Genesis显示文摘The Phapon gold deposit, located in northern Laos, is a unique large-scale gold deposit in Luang Prabang-Loei metallogenic belt. It is hosted in the Lower Permian limestone and controlled by a NE-trending ductile-brittle fault system. There are three types of primary ore including auriferous calcite vein type, disseminated type, and breccia type, and the first two are important in the Phapon gold deposit. Based on fluid inclusion petrography and microthermometry, three types of primary fluid inclusions including type 1 liquid-rich aqueous, type 2 vapor-rich aqueous and type 3 daughter mineralbearing aqueous were identified in hydrothermal calcite grains. The ore-forming fluids are normally homogeneous, as indicated by the widespread type 1 inclusions with identical composition. The coexistence of type 1 and type 2 inclusions, showing similar final homogenization temperature but different compositions, indicate that fluid immiscibility did locally take place in both two types of ores. The results of microthermometry and H-O isotopes geochemistry indicate that there are little differences on ore-fluid geochemistry between the auriferous calcite vein-type and disseminated type ores. The oreforming fluids are characterized by medium-low temperatures(157–268 oC) and low salinity(1.6 wt.%–9.9 wt.% NaCl eq.). It is likely to have a metamorphic-dominant mixed source, which could be associated with dehydration and decarbonisation of Lower Permian limestone and Middle–Upper Triassic sandstones during the dynamic metamorphism. The fluid-wallrock interaction played a major role, and the locally occurred fluid-immiscible processes played a subordinate role in gold precipitation. Combined with the regional and ore deposit geology, and ore-fluid geochemistry, we suggest that the Phapon gold deposit is best considered to be a member of the epizonal orogenic deposit class. | Linnan Guo Shusheng Liu Lin Hou Jieting Wang Meifeng Shi Qiming Zhang Fei Nie Yongfei Yang Zhimin Peng | 2019 | Journal of Earth Science2019,30,1: | 11

INTERFERENCE BY NON-HOST PLANT ROOTS AND ROOT EXUDATES IN THE INFECTION PROCESSES OF PHYTOPHTHORA NICOTIANAE显示文摘Crop rotations are widely used because they can significantly reduce the incidence of pests and diseases. The interactions between non-host roots and pathogens may be key in the inhibition of soilborne pathogens in crop rotations.Interactions between fennel(Foeniculum vulgare)roots/root exudates and Phytophthora nicotianae were investigated because of the known allelopathy between fennel and tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum). The effects of the key compounds in the fennel rhizosphere on the mycelial growth and zoospore behavior of P.nicotianae were assessed. The roots of fennel attracted P.nicotianae zoospores and inhibited their motility and the germination of cystospores, with some cystospores rupturing.4-ethylacetophenone,vanillin and N-formylpiperidine were consistently identified in the fennel rhizosphere and were found to interfere with the infection of P.nicotianae, especially vanillin.Hyphae treated with these compounds produced more abnormal branches and accumulated reactive oxygen species. These interspecific interactions between non-host roots and pathogens were found to be an important factor in the inhibition by fennel of infection by P.nicotianae. | Yuxin YANG He ZHANG Yuting FANG Ying LI Xinyue MEI Huichuan HUANG Fei DU Shusheng ZHU Min YANG Yixiang LIU | 2021 | Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering2021,8,3: | 3
Prioritization of liver MRI for distinguishing focal lesions显示文摘Liver cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related mortality worldwide.Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) is a non-invasive imaging technique that is often used by radiologists for diagnosis and surgical planning.Analysis of a large amount of liver MRI data for each patient limits the radiologist's efficiency and may lead to misdiagnoses. The redundant MRI data, especially from dynamic contrast enhanced(DCE) sequences,is also a bottleneck in transmitting the images via the internet or PACS for remote consultancy in a reasonable amount of time. This study included 25 patients(aged between 20 and 70years) with liver cysts(seven cases),hemangiomas(eight cases),or hepatic cell carcinomas(10 cases).DCE T1 WI MRI was performed for all the patients. The diagnosis reference included typical MRI findings and post-surgery pathology. The methods were as follows:(i) MRI sequence pre-processing based on large vessels variation level set method to remove non-liver parts from MRI images;(ii) human visual model features(luminance, motion, and contour) extraction and fusion;(iii) anomaly-based MRI ranking;and(iv) methods assessment with the 25 patients' DCE MRI data. The prioritization methods applied to the DCE images could automatically assimilate and determine the content of the medical images, identifying the liver cysts, hemangiomas, and carcinomas. The average uniformity between radiologists and prioritization with the proposed method was 0.805,0.838,and0.818 for cysts, hemangiomas, and carcinomas, respectively, which indicates that the proposed method is an efficient method for liver DCE image prioritization. | Qinghua Su Shusheng Bi Xuedong Yang | 2017 | Science China(Life Sciences)2017,60,1: | 3
Beta-and Novel Delta-Coronaviruses Are Identified from Wild Animals in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, China显示文摘Outbreaks of severe virus infections with the potential to cause global pandemics are increasingly concerning. One type of those commonly emerging and re-emerging pathogens are coronaviruses(SARS-Co V, MERS-Co V and SARS-Co V-2).Wild animals are hosts of different coronaviruses with the potential risk of cross-species transmission. However, little is known about the reservoir and host of coronaviruses in wild animals in Qinghai Province, where has the greatest biodiversity among the world's high-altitude regions. Here, from the next-generation sequencing data, we obtained a known beta-coronavirus(beta-Co V) genome and a novel delta-coronavirus(delta-Co V) genome from faecal samples of 29 marmots, 50 rats and 25 birds in Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, China in July 2019. According to the phylogenetic analysis, the beta-Co V shared high nucleotide identity with Coronavirus HKU24. Although the novel delta-Co V(Mt Co V) was closely related to Sparrow deltacoronavirus ISU42824, the protein spike of the novel delta-Co V showed highest amino acid identity to Sparrow coronavirus HKU17(73.1%). Interestingly, our results identified a novel host(Montifringilla taczanowskii) for the novel delta-Co V and the potential cross-species transmission. The most recent common ancestor(t MRCA) of Mt Co Vs along with other closest members of the species of Coronavirus HKU15 was estimated to be 289 years ago. Thus, this study increases our understanding of the genetic diversity of beta-Co Vs and deltaCo Vs, and also provides a new perspective of the coronavirus hosts. | Wentao Zhu Jing Yang Shan Lu Ruiting Lan Dong Jin Xue-lian Luo Ji Pu Shusheng Wu Jianguo Xu | 2021 | Virologica Sinica2021,36,3: | 3

Active-site and interface engineering of cathode materials for aqueous Zn–gas batteries显示文摘Aqueous rechargeable Zn–gas batteries are regarded as promising energy storage and conversion devices due to their high safety and inherent environmental friendliness. However, the energy efficiency and power density of Zn–gas batteries are restricted by the kinetically sluggish cathode reactions, such as oxygen evolution reaction(OER)during charging and oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)/carbon dioxide reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)/nitrogen reduction reaction(NRR)/nitric oxide reduction reaction(NORR)during discharge. In this review, battery configurations and fundamental reactions in Zn–gas batteries are first introduced, including Zn–air,Zn-CO_(2),Zn-N_(2),and Zn-NO batteries.Afterward, recent advances in active site engineering for enhancing the intrinsic catalytic activities of cathode catalysts are summarized.Subsequently, the structure and surface regulation strategies of cathode materials for optimizing the three-phase interface and improving the performance of Zn–gas batteries are discussed. Finally, some personal perspectives for the future development of Zn–gas batteries are presented. | Wenxian Liu Jinxiu Feng Tianran Wei Qian Liu Shusheng Zhang Yang Luo Jun Luo Xijun Liu | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,2: | 1

Electron-ion collider in China显示文摘Lepton scattering is an established ideal tool for studying inner structure of small particles such as nucleons as well as nuclei. As a future high energy nuclear physics project,an Electron-ion collider in China(EicC)has been proposed. It will be constructed based on an upgraded heavy-ion accelerator,High Intensity heavy-ion Accelerator Facility(HIAF)which is currently under construction, together with a new electron ring. The proposed collider will provide highly polarized electrons(with a po-larization of 80%)and protons(with a polarization of 70%)with variable center of mass energies from 15 to 20 GeV and the luminosity of(2–3)×1033 cm^(−2)·s^(−1).Polarized deuterons and Helium-3,as well as unpolarized ion beams from Carbon to Uranium, will be also available at the EicC.The main foci of the EicC will be precision measurements of the structure of the nucleon in the sea quark region, including 3D tomography of nucleon;the partonic structure of nuclei and the parton interaction with the nuclear environment;the exotic states, especially those with heavy flavor quark contents. In addition, issues fundamental to understanding the origin of mass could be addressed by measurements of heavy quarkonia near-threshold production at the EicC.In order to achieve the above-mentioned physics goals,a hermetical detector system will be constructed with cutting-edge technologies. This document is the result of collective contributions and valuable inputs from experts across the globe. The EicC physics program complements the ongoing scientific programs at the Jefferson Laboratory and the future EIC project in the United States. The success of this project will also advance both nuclear and particle physics as well as accelerator and detector technology in China. | Daniele PAnderle Valerio Bertone Xu Cao Lei Chang Ningbo Chang Gu Chen Xurong Chen Zhuojun Chen Zhufang Cui Lingyun Dai Weitian Deng Minghui Ding Xu Feng Chang Gong Longcheng Gui Feng-Kun Guo Chengdong Han Jun He Tie-Jiun Hou Hongxia Huang Yin Huang KrešImir KumeričKi LPKaptari Demin Li Hengne Li Minxiang Li Xueqian Li Yutie Liang Zuotang Liang Chen Liu Chuan Liu Guoming Liu Jie Liu Liuming Liu Xiang Liu Tianbo Liu Xiaofeng Luo Zhun Lyu Boqiang Ma Fu Ma Jianping Ma Yugang Ma Lijun Mao Cédric Mezrag HervéMoutarde Jialun Ping Sixue Qin Hang Ren Craig DRoberts Juan Rojo Guodong Shen Chao Shi Qintao Song Hao Sun PawełSznajder Enke Wang Fan Wang Qian Wang Rong Wang Ruiru Wang Taofeng Wang Wei Wang Xiaoyu Wang Xiaoyun Wang Jiajun Wu Xinggang Wu Lei Xia Bowen Xiao Guoqing Xiao Ju-Jun Xie Yaping Xie Hongxi Xing Hushan Xu Nu Xu Shusheng Xu Mengshi Yan Wenbiao Yan Wencheng Yan Xinhu Yan Jiancheng Yang Yi-Bo Yang Zhi Yang Deliang Yao Zhihong Ye Peilin Yin C-PYuan Wenlong Zhan Jianhui Zhang Jinlong Zhang Pengming Zhang Yifei Zhang Chao-Hsi Chang Zhenyu Zhang Hongwei Zhao Kuang-Ta Chao Qiang Zhao Yuxiang Zhao Zhengguo Zhao Liang Zheng Jian Zhou Xiang Zhou Xiaorong Zhou Bingsong Zou Liping Zou | 2021 | Frontiers of physics2021,16,6: | 1

Electrochemical micro-aptasensors for exosome detection based on hybridization chain reaction amplification显示文摘Exosomes are cell-derived nanovesicles that have recently gained popularity as potential biomarkers in liquid biopsies due to the large amounts of molecular cargo they carry, such as nucleic acids and proteins. However, most existing exosome-based analytical sensing methods struggle to achieve high sensitivity and high selectivity simultaneously. In this work,we present an electrochemical micro-aptasensor for the highly sensitive detection of exosomes by integrating a micropatterned electrochemical aptasensor and a hybridization chain reaction(HCR)signal amplification method.Specifically, exosomes are enriched on CD63 aptamer-functionalized electrodes and then recognized by HCR products with avidin-horseradish peroxidase(HRP)attached using EpCAM aptamers as bridges.Subsequently, the current signal that is generated through the enzyme reaction between the HRP enzyme and 3,3,,5/5,-tetramethylbenzidine(TMB)/H_(2)0_(2) directly correlates to the amount of bound HRP on the HCR products and thus to the number of target exosomes.By introducing anti-EpCAM aptamers,micro-aptasensors can detect cancerous exosomes with high specificity.Due to the micropatterned electrodes and HCR dual-amplification strategy, the micro-aptasensors achieve a linear detection response for a wide range of exosome concentrations from 2.5×10^(3) to 1×10^(7) exosomes/mL,with a detection limit of 5×10^(2) exosomes/mL.Moreover,our method successfully detects lung cancer exosomes in serum samples of early-stage and late-stage lung cancer patients, showcasing the great potential for early cancer diagnosis. | Wenfen Zhang Zhenhua Tian Shujie Yang Joseph Rich Shuaiguo Zhao Mikael Klingeborn Po-Hsun Huang Zhishang Li Alexander Stout Quinn Murphy Edward Patz Shusheng Zhang Guozhen Liu Tony Jun Huang | 2021 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2021,7,4: | 1
