| 2 | Histone demethylase LSD1 regulates bone mass by controlling WNT7B and BMP2 signaling in osteoblasts显示文摘Multiple regulatory mechanisms control osteoblast differentiation and function to ensure unperturbed skeletal formation and remodeling. In this study we identify histone lysine-specific demethylase 1(LSD1/KDM1 A) as a key epigenetic regulator of osteoblast differentiation. Knockdown of LSD1 promoted osteoblast differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cells(hMSCs)in vitro and mice lacking LSD1 in mesenchymal cells displayed increased bone mass secondary to accelerated osteoblast differentiation. Mechanistic in vitro studies revealed that LSD1 epigenetically regulates the expression of WNT7 B and BMP2. LSD1 deficiency resulted in increased BMP2 and WNT7 B expression in osteoblasts and enhanced bone formation, while downregulation of WNT7 B-and BMP2-related signaling using genetic mouse model or small-molecule inhibitors attenuated bone phenotype in vivo. Furthermore, the LSD1 inhibitor tranylcypromine(TCP) could increase bone mass in mice. | 3 | EQUIVALENT NORMAL CURVATURE APPROACH MILLING MODEL OF MACHINING FREEFORM SURFACES显示文摘A new milling methodology with the equivalent normal curvature milling model machining freeform surfaces is proposed based on the normal curvature theorems on differential geometry. | 5 | Distribution of branched glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraethers in soils on the Northeastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and possible production by nitrite-reducing bacteria显示文摘Branched glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraethers(b GDGTs) are ubiquitous and abundant in soils, but their sources remain elusive. Recent studies demonstrate that the distributions of b GDGTs are sensitive to various environmental factors. In an effort to understand how and to what extent soil moisture(expressed as soil water content(SWC) or mean annual precipitation(MAP), p H and temperature may impact the distribution of b GDGTs, and to shed more light on the biological sources of b GDGTs in cold and arid regions, we investigated the distribution of b GDGTs as well as bacterial 16 S r RNA gene and functional genes involved in the N cycle(including amo A, nir S and nir K) in 41 surface soil samples from around Lake Qinghai and east of Qaidam Basin on the Northeastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. We found that lower soil moisture reduced the fractional concentrations of cyclic b GDGTs and thus the cyclisation ratio of branched tetraethers(CBT) index correlated negatively with SWC and MAP, suggesting that soil moisture is an important factor controlling b GDGT distributions in soils in this arid and semi-arid region. Two subgroups of b GDGTs were assigned on the basis of cluster analysis, and b GDGT indices behaved differently in the two groups, hinting at different biosynthetic mechanisms for b GDGTs under different environmental conditions. Real time PCR results showed that nir S and nir K genes correlated significantly with the concentration of b GDGTs, suggesting that the nir S- or nir K-encoding bacteria involved in denitrification might potentially be an additional biological source for soil b GDGTs(besides Acidobacteria). | 7 | High-performance all-polymer solar cells enabled by a novel low bandgap non-fully conjugated polymer acceptor显示文摘The non-fully conjugated polymer as a new class of acceptor materials has shown some advantages over its small molecular counterpart when used in photoactive layers for all-polymer solar cells(all-PSCs),despite a low power conversion efficiency(PCE)caused by its narrow absorption spectra.Herein,a novel non-fully conjugated polymer acceptor PFY-2TS with a low bandgap of~1.40 eV was developed,via polymerizing a largeπ-fused small molecule acceptor(SMA)building block(namely YBO)with a non-conjugated thioalkyl linkage.Compared with its precursor YBO,PFY-2TS retains a similar low bandgap but a higher LUMO level.Moreover,compared with the structural analog of YBO-based fully conjugated polymer acceptor PFY-DTC,PFY-2TS shows a similar absorption spectrum and electron mobility,but significantly different molecular crystallinity and aggregation properties,which results in optimal blend morphology with a polymer donor PBDB-T and physical processes of the device in all-PSCs.As a result,PFY-2TS-based all-PSCs achieved a PCE of 12.31%with a small energy loss of 0.56 eV enabled by the reduced non-radiative energy loss(0.24 eV),which is better than that of 11.08%for the PFY-DTC-based ones.Our work clearly demonstrated that non-fully conjugated polymers as a new class of acceptor materials are very promising for the development of high-performance all-PSCs. | Qunping Fan Ruijie Ma Tao Liu Jianwei Yu Yiqun Xiao Wenyan Su Guilong Cai Yuxiang Li Wenhong Peng Tao Guo Zhenghui Luo Huiliang Sun Lintao Hou Weiguo Zhu Xinhui Lu Feng Gao Ellen Moons Donghong Yu He Yan Ergang Wang | 2021 | Science China Chemistry2021,64,8: | 3 |
| 8 | Effects of heat treatment and Re-content on the TCP-phase in two Ni-Mo-Cr-Re superalloys显示文摘The volume fraction and morphology of the TCP-phase formed in two kinds of Ni-Mo-Cr-Re superalloys under different heat treatment conditions were investigated in this paper. In Re-5% alloy, with increasing of the heat treatment temperature and prolonging the holding time, the volume fraction of TCP-phase decreased and the TCP-phase size increased. At relatively lower temperature, the TCP-phase prefers to present in the dendrite cores. In Re-10% alloy, the volume fraction and size have the same change tendency as that of in Re-5% alloy, but the morphology will change from needle-like and block-like to sphere when the temperature increases. | 10 | Impact of photosynthesis and transpiration on nitrogen removal in constructed wetlands显示文摘To determine the impact of photosynthesis and transpiration on nitrogen removal in wetlands,an artificial wetland planted with reeds was constructed to treat highly concentrated domestic wastewater.Under different meteoro-logical and hydraulic conditions,the daily changes of photo-synthesis and transpiration of reeds,as well as nitrogen removal efficiency were measured.It was found that net pho-tosynthesis rate per unit leaf area was maintained on a high level(average 19.0μmol CO_(2)/(m^(2)·s))from 10:00 to 14:00 in July 2004 and reached a peak of 21.1μmol CO2/(m2·s)when Photon Flux Density was high during the day.Meanwhile,TN and NH_(4)^(+)-N removal efficiency rose to 79.6%and 89.6%,respectively-the maximum values observed in the test.Correlation coefficient analysis demonstrated a positive cor-relation among photon flux density,net photosynthetic rate,transpiration rate,and TN and NH_(4)^(+)-N removal efficiency.In contrast,there was a negative correlation between stomatal conductance and TN and NH_(4)^(+)-N removal efficiency.Results suggest that the photosynthesis and transpiration of wetland plants have a great impact on nitrogen removal efficiency of wetlands,which can be enhanced by an increase in the photo-synthesis and transpiration rate.In addition,the efficiency of water usage by reeds and nitrogen removal efficiency could be affected by the water level in wetlands;a higher level boosts nitrogen removal efficiency. | LUO Weiguo WANG Shihe HUANG Juan YAN Lu HUANG Jun | 2007 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2007,1,3: | 2 |
