| 1 | 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). | 3 | Plasma exchange-centered artificial liver support system in hepatitis B virus-related acute-onchronic liver failure:a nationwide prospective multicenter study in China显示文摘BACKGROUND:Plasma exchange(PE)-centered artificial liver support system reduced the high mortality rate of hepatitis B virus(HBV)-related acute-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF).But the data were diverse in different medical centers.The present prospective nationwide study was to evaluate the effects of PE on patients with HBV-ACLF at different stages.METHODS:From December 2009 to December 2011,we evaluated 250 patients at different stages of HBV-ACLF from 10 major medical centers in China.All the laboratory parameters were collected at admission,before and after PE.RESULTS:Among the 250 patients who underwent 661 rounds of PE,one-month survival rate was 61.6%; 141(56.4%) showed improvement after PE.Variables such as age(P=0.000),levels of total bilirubin(TB,P=0.000),direct bilirubin(P=0.000),total triglycerides(P=0.000),low-density lipoprotein(P=0.022),Na+(P=0.014),Cl–(P=0.038),creatinine(Cr,P=0.007),fibrinogen(P=0.000),prothrombin time(PT,P=0.000),white blood cell(P=0.000),platelet(P=0.003) and MELD(P=0.000) were significantly related to prognosis.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that age,disease stage,TB,Cr and PT levels were independent risk factors of mortality among HBV-ACLF patients.CONCLUSIONS:PE can improve the clinical outcome of patients with HBV-ACLF.Levels of TB,Cr and PT,age and disease stage help to predict prognosis. | Jia-Jia Chen Jian-Rong Huang Qian Yang Xiao-Wei Xu Xiao-Li Liu Shao-Rui Hao Hui-Fen Wang Tao Han Jing Zhang Jian-He Gan Zhi-Liang Gao Yu-Ming Wang Shu-Mei Lin Qing Xie Chen Pan Lan-Juan Li | 2016 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2016,15,3: | 48 |

| 5 | Tillage Effect on Organic Carbon in a Purple Paddy Soil显示文摘The distribution and storage of soil organic carbon (SOC) based on a long-term experiment with various tillage systems were studied in a paddy soil derived from purple soil in Chongqing, China. Organic carbon storage in the 0-20 and 0-40 cm soil layers under different tillage systems were in an order: ridge tillage with rice-rape rotation (RT-rr) > conventional tillage with rice only (CT-r) > ridge tillage with rice only (RT-r) > conventional tillage with rice-rape rotation (CT-rr). The RT-rr system had significantly higher levels of soil organic carbon in the 0-40 cm topsoil, while the proportion of the total remaining organic carbon in the total soil organic carbon in the 0-10 cm layer was greatest in the RT-rr system. This was the reason why the RT-rr system enhanced soil organic carbon storage. These showed that tillage system type was crucial for carbon storage. Carbon levels in soil humus and crop-yield results showed that the RT-rr system enhanced soil fertility and crop productivity. | 7 | Environmental connections of novel avian-origin H7N9 influenza virus infection and virus adaptation to the human显示文摘A novel H7N9 influenza A virus has been discovered as the causative identity of the emerging acute respiratory infection cases in Shanghai,China.This virus has also been identified in cases of infection in the neighboring area Hangzhou City in Zhejiang Province.In this study,epidemiologic,clinical,and virological data from three patients in Hangzhou who were confirmed to be infected by the novel H7N9 influenza A virus were collected and analyzed.Human respiratory specimens and chicken feces from a contacted free market were tested for influenza virus by real-time reverse transcription PCR(RT-PCR) and sequencing.The clinical features of the three cases were similar featured with high fever and severe respiratory symptoms;however,only one of the patients died.A certain degree of diversity was observed among the three Hangzhou viruses sequenced from human samples compared with other reported H7N9 influenza A viruses.The sequences of the novel avian-origin H7N9 influenza viruses from Hangzhou City contained important amino acid substitutions related to human adaptation.One of the Hangzhou viruses had gained a novel amino acid substitution(Q226I) in the receptor binding region of hemagglutinin.More importantly,the virus sequenced from the chicken feces had a 627E substitution in the PB2 protein instead of the mammalian-adapted 627K substitution that was found in the PB2 proteins from the Hangzhou viruses from the three patients.Therefore,the newly-emerging H7N9 virus might be under adaptation pressure that will help it 'jump' from avian to human hosts.The significance of these substitutions needs further exploration,with both laboratory experiments and extensive field surveillance. | LI Jun YU XinFen PU XiaoYing XIE Li SUN YongXiang XIAO HaiXia WANG FenJuan DIN Hua WU Ying LIU Di ZHAO GuoQiu LIU Jun PAN JingCao | 2013 | Science China(Life Sciences)2013,56,6: | 32 |
| 8 | Caspase-11/4 and gasdermin D-mediated pyroptosis contributes to podocyte injury in mouse diabetic nephropathy显示文摘Diabetic nephropathy(DN)is characterized by sterile inflammation with continuous injury and loss of renal inherent parenchyma cells.Podocyte is an essential early injury target in DN.The injury and loss of podocytes are closely associated with proteinuria,the early symptom of renal injury in DN.However,the exact mechanism for podocyte injury and death in DN remains ambiguous.In this study we investigated whether pyroptosis,a newly discovered cell death pathway was involved in DN.Diabetic mice were generated by high-fat diet/STZ injections.We showed that the expression levels of caspase-11 and cleavage of gasdermin D(GSDMD-N)in podocytes were significantly elevated,accompanied by reduced expression of podocyte makers nephrin and podocin,loss and fusion in podocyte foot processes,increased inflammatory cytokines NF-κB,IL-1β,and IL-18,macrophage infiltration,glomerular matrix expansion and increased urinary albumin to creatinine ratio(UACR).All these changes in diabetic mice were blunted by knockout of caspase-11 or GSDMD.Cultured human and mouse podocytes were treated with high glucose(30 mM),which significantly increased the expression levels of caspase-11 or caspase-4(the homolog of caspase-11 in human),GSDMD-N,NF-κB,IL-1β,and IL-18,and decreased the expression of nephrin and podocin.Either caspase-4 or GSDMD knockdown by siRNA significantly blunted these changes.In summary,our results demonstrate that caspase-11/4 and GSDMD-mediated pyroptosis is activated and involved in podocyte loss under hyperglycemia condition and the development of DN. | Qian Cheng Jing Pan Zhuan-li Zhou Fan Yin Hong-yan Xie Pan-pan Chen Jing-yao Li Pei-qing Zheng Li Zhou Wei Zhang Jun Liu Li-min Lu | 2021 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2021,42,6: | 33 |
| 9 | Numerical modeling of tidal currents,sediment transport and morphological evolution in Hangzhou Bay,China显示文摘A 2D depth-averaged numerical model is set up to simulate the macro-scale hydrodynamic characteristics,sediment transport patterns and morphological evolution in Hangzhou Bay,a large macro-tidal estuary on the eastern coast of China.By incorporating the shallow water equations,the suspended sediment transport equation and the mass-balance equation for sediment;short-term hydrodynamics,sediment transport and long-term morphological evolution for Hangzhou Bay are simulated and the underlying physical mechanisms are analyzed.The model reproduces the spatial distribution patterns of suspended sediment concentration(SSC) in Hangzhou Bay,characterized by three high SSC zones and two low SSC zones.It also correctly simulates the residual flow,the residual sediment transport and the sediment accumulation patterns in Hangzhou Bay.The model results are in agreement with previous studies based on field measurements.The residual flow and the residual sediment transport are landwards directed in the northern part of the bay and seawards directed in the southern part.Sediment accumulation takes place in most areas of the bay.Harmonic analysis revealed that the tide is flood-dominant in the northern part of the bay and ebb-dominant in the southern part of the bay.The strength of the flood-dominance increases landwards along the northern Hangzhoii Bay.In turn sediment transport in Hangzhou Bay is controlled by this tidal asymmetry pattern.In addition,the direction of tidal propagation in the East China Sea,the presence of the archipelago in the southeast and the funnel-shaped geometry of the bay,play important roles for the patterns of sediment transport and sediment accumulation respectively. | Dong-feng XIE Shu GAO Zheng-bing WANG Cun-hong PAN | 2013 | International Journal of Sediment Research2013,28,3: | 23 |

It is necessary to eliminate radionuclides from wastewater for the protection of environment. Nanomaterials have been considered as the potential candidates for the effective and selective removal of radionuclides from aqueous solutions under complicated conditions because of their high specific surface area, large amounts of binding sites, abundant functional groups, pore-size controllable and easily surface modification. This review mainly summarized the recent studies for the synthesis, fabrication and surface modification of novel nanomaterials and their applications in the efficient elimination and solidification of radionuclides,and discussed the interaction mechanisms from batch experiments, spectroscopy analysis and theoretical calculations. | 13 | β-sitosterol ameliorates influenza A virus-induced proinflammatory response and acute lung injury in mice by disrupting the cross-talk between RIG-I and IFN/STAT signaling显示文摘β-Sitosterol(24-ethyl-5-cholestene-3-ol)is a common phytosterol Chinese medical plants that has been shown to possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity.In this study we investigated the effects ofβ-sitosterol on influenza virus-induced inflammation and acute lung injury and the molecular mechanisms.We demonstrate thatβ-sitosterol(150–450μg/mL)dosedependently suppresses inflammatory response through NF-κB and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)signaling in influenza A virus(IAV)-infected cells,which was accompanied by decreased induction of interferons(IFNs)(including Type I and III IFN).Furthermore,we revealed that the anti-inflammatory effect ofβ-sitosterol resulted from its inhibitory effect on retinoic acidinducible gene I(RIG-I)signaling,led to decreased STAT1 signaling,thus affecting the transcriptional activity of ISGF3(interferonstimulated gene factor 3)complexes and resulting in abrogation of the IAV-induced proinflammatory amplification effect in IFNsensitized cells.Moreover,β-sitosterol treatment attenuated RIG-I-mediated apoptotic injury of alveolar epithelial cells(AEC)via downregulation of pro-apoptotic factors.In a mouse model of influenza,pre-administration ofβ-sitosterol(50,200 mg·kg−1·d−1,i.g.,for 2 days)dose-dependently ameliorated IAV-mediated recruitment of pathogenic cytotoxic T cells and immune dysregulation.In addition,pre-administration ofβ-sitosterol protected mice from lethal IAV infection.Our data suggest thatβ-sitosterol blocks the immune response mediated by RIG-I signaling and deleterious IFN production,providing a potential benefit for the treatment of influenza. | Bei-xian Zhou Jing Li Xiao-li Liang Xi-ping Pan Yan-bing Hao Pei-fang Xie Hai-ming Jiang Zi-feng Yang Nan-shan Zhong | 2020 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2020,41,9: | 20 |
| 14 | Comparative QTL Mapping of Resistance to Gray Leaf Spot in Maize Based on Bioinformatics显示文摘The integration QTL map for gray leaf spot resistance in maize was constructed by compiling a total of 57 QTLs available with genetic map IBM2 2005 neighbors as reference. Twenty-six 'real QTLs' and seven consensus QTLs were identified by refining these 57 QTLs using overview and meta-analysis approaches. Seven consensus QTLs were found on chromosomes 1.06, 2.06, 3.04, 4.06, 4.08, 5.03, and 8.06, and the map coordinates were 552.53, 425.72, 279.20, 368.97, 583.21, 308.68 and 446.14 cM, respectively. Using a synteny conservation approach based on comparative mapping between the maize genetic map and rice physical map, a total of 69 rice and maize resistance genes collected from websites Gramene and MaizeGDB were projected onto the maize genetic map IBM2 2005 neighbors, and 2 (Rgene32, ht1), 4 (Rgene5, rp3, scmv2, wsm2), and 4 (ht2, Rgene6, Rgene8 and Rgene7) positional candidate genes were found in three consensus QTLs on chromosomes 2.06, 3.04, and 8.06, respectively. | 16 | SOIL AGGREGATE AND ITS RESPONSE TO LAND MANAGEMENT PRACTICES显示文摘This paper provides a broad review of the existing study on soil aggregate and its responses to land management practices. Soil aggregate is used for structural unit, which is a group of primary soil particles that cohere to each other more strongly than other surrounding particles. The mechanism of soil particle aggregation may be expressed by a hierarchical model, which is based upon the hypothesis that macroaggregates (>250 μm) are collections of smaller microaggregates (<250 μm) held together with organic binding agents. Primary particles form microaggregates and then macroaggregates. Carbon (C)-rich young plant residues form and stabilize macroaggregates, whereas old organic C is occluded in the microaggregates. The interaction of aggregate dynamics with soil organic carbon (SOC) is complex and embraces a range of spatial and temporal processes within macroaggregates and microaggregates. The nature and properties of aggregates are determined by the quantity and quality of coarse residues and humic compounds and by the degree of their interaction with soil particles. The mechanisms resulting in the binding of primary soil particles into stable aggregates vary with soil parent material, climate, vegetation, and land management practices. Land management prac- tices, including tillage methods, residue management, amendments, and soil fertility management, enhance soil aggre- gation. However,the origin of the Tibetan Mastiff and its phylogenetic relationship with other large breed dogs such as Saint Bernard are unclear. In this study,the primers were designed accord-ing to the mitochondrial genome sequence of the domestic dog,and the 2,525 bp mitochondrial sequence,containing the whole sequence of Cytochrome b,tRNA-Thr,tRNA-Pro,and control region of the Tibetan Mastiff,was obtained. Using grey wolves and coyotes as out-groups,the Tibetan Mastiff and 12 breeds of domestic dogs were analyzed in phylogenesis. Tibetan Mastiff,domestic dog breeds,and grey wolves were clustered into a group and coyotes were clustered in a group separately. This indicated that the Tibetan Mastiff and the other domestic dogs originated from the grey wolf,and the Tibetan Mastiff belonged to Carnivora,Canidae,Canis,Canis lupus,Canis lupus familiaris on the animal taxonomy. In domestic dogs,the middle and small breed dogs were clustered at first; German Sheepdog,Swedish Elkhound,and Black Russian Terrier were clustered into one group,and the Tibetan Mastiff,Old English Sheepdog,Leonberger,and Saint Bernard were clustered in another group. This confirmed the viewpoint that many of the famous large breed dogs worldwide such as Saint Bernard possibly had the blood lineage of the Tibetan Mastiff,based on the molecular data.
